- Saab's anti-ship missile RBS15 serves with various navies, coastal batteries and air forces including Sweden, Finland, Germany, Poland, Croatia and Thailand.
The development of the upcoming RBS15 Gungnir was placed by Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) in 2017. The video highlights the Swedish Navy's view on their upcoming RBS15.

I know the Swedes may not sell it, but the RBS would be a perfect weapon system for the Taiwanese military both on vessels and land batteries and in large numbers. It would complicate matters greatly for the PLAN.
Sweden wont sell it to Taiwan , they dont want to anger communists , cause they earn too good money tradeing with them ... I money are more important to Sweden that human rights...

PLAN would use decoy drones with RCS of Ships, so u would be wasting ur Anti Ship missiles, not to mention WZ8 would already spot all ur crappy stuff and would be destroyed with DF17s

@@williamroos8192 The carbon fiber material used to build the whole thing gives it better armor than steel.
@@Merecir yes I know that. I work on one. The carbon fiber and pvc core makes it harder than steel but a lot lighter. This still doesn't mean it's armoured

306M$ is corvette , Denmark payed 680M$ for they Frigate , and UK buy a Daring class destroyer for 1.4B$ ... US Aircraft Carrier 13.5B$... so in compare Visby is cheap.

From the beginning yes. They started as a aircraft manufacturer, hens the name “Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget” more or less Swedish aircraft limited.
The car manufacturing part was later sold off.

(BTW SAAB never produced reliable cars , they produced "stylish" cars)

It already has a helicopter hangar for small size heli.

The new 4 ships that will be built are bigger and includes all that you asked for. They are in the design phase now. All will also be equipped with CAMM missiles for air defence (Sea Ceptor)

Just curious...what is the point of a stealth ship if it smokes like an old Yugo that is missing all of its piston rings? I've literally NEVER seen a warship smoke like that...at least not outside of the worthless Admiral Kuznetsov, and that thing is so decrepit that it actually has to have a tugboat follow it everywhere it goes because they KNOW it is going to break down on every single deployment and need a tow back to port!

The exhaust gases from the ship’s water jet propulsion engines are diverted through hidden outlets near the waterline to provide as little heat signature as possible.
And when you can see the water vapor from the exhaust cooling, then you have already seen the ship itself.
Hmmm, funny comment...what you think is exhaust smoke is actually water fog from a state of art system to handle the problem of hot exhaust from IR-detection.
That's steam created from water which is cooling down the exhaust to reduce the IR signature and prevent heat seeking missiles to lock onto the ship.
Put it on a Saab 9-5! 😂

The RBS-15 is the "Tomahawk" for the Swedish Navy and land.. It's an Anti-ship missile and also a cruise missile that can engage land targets.
RBS-15 Gungnir is the latest. Can be launched by Gripe Jet-figther and from land via Trucks.
Visby has many weapons including Bofors 57mm gun with 3p ammunition 👊🏻
