the MK3 is a joint development between germany and sweden. like the taurus project is mainly german and a small part swedish, the RBS-15 ist mainly swedish and a small part is german or the Iris-T that is mainly german and a small part is swedish

CIWIS can easily shoot down Mach 0.9 target, Cmon, no wonder they are working on next version
It can but they have to detect it first and the crew has to react since these types of anti ship missiles fly very low to the sea two modes like low and very low and i speculate this might have hardened casing of some sort so even if the first 5-10 rounds hit it might not be disabled so it needs more since i believe they also use insensitive warhead so that means it wouldn't be the warhead that explodes but the electronics getting damaged or guidance that will disable this missile
@@fuzer4047 CIWIS works automatically and I don't think crew has to react in any way, but yes all low flying objects are harder to detect. It'll come close to the ship and it'll definitely get caught in the end specially with subsonic speed. Laser is the end game, though it'll take at least 20 years for it's proper deployment.
Most ships don't employ lasers yet mainly in europe at least if we don't take US and China ships into accounts then these anti ship missiles are still likely to hit besides i believe some of these high subsonic speed based employ waving before they hit the target besides of course flying very low to the sea means that CIWS would need to have enough gun depression for engagement or if they can engage sooner before hit @@oksyar
@@fuzer4047 He is right. Unlike onyx and brahmos class missiles, RBS is slow. It can be destroyed by a system with an anti-missile weapon.

Considering how long it took to load a single missile according to this video... the ships are easy prey during that phase.
The missile itself is good , but the loadingsystem is horrible.
What phase? That missile restocking is done in a harbor not some place in danger.
@@znail4675 With todays longrange robots or even torpedos, a ship in port to restock is an easy target, even more than a ship at sea because the crew is more likely to be not as alert to dangers.
