    speaking of polyester, for me it was yohji who really changed my perspective on the fabric, his use of polyester is really good!

      I just got some Homme Plissey pants and they’re surprisingly breathable.

    The reason ideas come to you so easily is because your are not in the rat race. You have down time, decent amount of sleep and no pressure of the job. I may be wrong but the reality of working in fashion is very different to how it is portrayed. Also I think it helps sometime to be outside that bubble.

      You definitely make a strong point here, this is a big reason why I advocate for the whole fashion system to slow down. Unfortunately I doubt it will ever happen because that would mean less money for brands, especially the major luxury houses.
      Also, you’re right about the reality of working in fashion, it’s extremely high paced and stressful.

    I was hoping for a more focused review of this McQueen show. Thank you!

    I think of out like this. Why try to follow Sarah or Lee. In fact what would Lee do if he arrived as a young man as he did at Givenchy? He would say F that I’m doing this.. and do this own thing. So really, for me, Sean can do that and if he makes it then it’s great for everyone. Good luck to him.

    also a major and I mean critical part about a McQueen collection is historical reference even when u couldn't see the historical reference, it was there. Everyone has a historical part about them and i really wonder if Seán McGirr taped into this how would his historical twist come off.

    I interned at McQueen when he was still alive. I do not remember it being very conceptual. I would love to see a video where you break down the collection explaining the reference and concepts you are seeing.

      Almost everything that McQueen did was conceptual. There is an endless amount of information online from McQueen explaining his concepts himself in interviews to books and other literary resources written by the most esteemed fashion writers of all time analysing his work. Like I said in the stream, I have had whole lectures in school breaking down his work. I have broken down a lot of these references in the past and I will continue to in the future.

    u defiantly need a life's experience to work at McQueen. but i wouldn't worry to much because a lot of young designers are coming from not ur average sectors in the world like real life poverty and gritty places and they have a lot to say. the kering group needs to take this serious about finding the right C.D. in Washington DC the government has programs for young youth and adults to learn how to sew. and a to teacher that actually helps ppl build their aesthetic. this is free for the residents . if more cities do this we might actually find the next McQueen or just a lil close

    In Britain people on the streets ride horses as in Spain we all ride bulls as main mean of transport. Totally ordinary

    My favorite anti scam youtuber got an email to do a sponsorship by the company that she described as being a scam a few weeks before. I can't wait till you tell us that Shein or Temu emailed you for a sponsorship or something like that 😂

    • @FashionRoadman
      @FashionRoadman  Місяць тому +1

      Shein has never reached out but Temu do all the time and it’s horrible because they won’t leave me alone. They legit email me daily asking if I’ve seen their original offer and when you block the email or send it to spam they get someone else in the company to send an email.

    And what is of course ironic is that the shot of the black guy and black girl standing on the sidewalk is that clearly, all the trash has been either swept away by the shoot crew or taken away in post. Looks like someone spent a week on their hands and knees scrubbing away at the pavers....so much for "grit"....

    Maybe what is real about the white horse is that a rebellious teenager kicked a kings guard and he fell and then she ran away on the horse. All of that as a form of rebellion to the upper classes/ police/ monarchy? Lol
