Most lives we see come from audience cell phones but there are some good ones out there. They did release a live Sea Shanty Medley recently and "Dreamer " ft. Texas Hill Live at the Ryman ( which I believe members of both bands wrote) is wonderful! Thanks for the Home Free reactions
Dreamer is a song written by Dustin Christensen, Ross Ellis and Dan Fernandez. I think you are thinking of Givin’ Up on You written by Tim Foust and Adam Wakefield.
It is written by these people but originally sung by Home Free and Texas Hill. If you check out their description on the albums you can see who actually wrote the songs. There is a difference
It’s so good. Yes, this was for the Ubisoft crowd. Wish it was longer. That was Tim doing the insanely low notes at the beginning. Boys are so good. Hey, I found them during the pandemic and have been fangirling since. Great song Chance wrote. You can see this live in Oslo Norway on UA-cam. Then you can hear the crowd and see some of them. They were just in England too in Sept. 🥰😄
HF did their first live performance of this during their European Tour in Sept. in Oslo, Norway. It is the full version of the song and you can definitely hear the audience. Tim goes into detail how the whole thing came together between Ubisoft and HF before introducing Chance to lead them off.
I really like seeing this live version as it shows who is doing what parts. Tim & Chance are doing the really low notes in the beginning. Chance has his guitar & Austin is playing a mandolin. Adam is holding down the percussion sounds. And Austin & Rob are adding a fuller sound with their harmonies. Just wish it was the longer version of the song.
OMG! Your reaction to this man band is hilarious and so relatable. It’s this short version they did in concert this fall. The sold out crowd of 1,500 I saw it with REALLY appreciated it. The young man I sat next to sang along enthusiastically. Home Free filmed an official music video that Tim said they’d release when the game (finally) comes out. Release date is still TBD on the Ubisoft storefront. Speculation is end of March 2024 at the earliest, but it is expected next year.
I love all their live videos! Regardless of any audio/video deficiencies caused by the device used, just the energy of the performance and the enthusiasm of the audience make up for it. I think you'd love the live videos "9-5 Beatboxing Breakdown", "Timeless with special dancer" and "Tim Foust's Vibration" - each has its own surprises! There's a live video of them singing this in, I think, Vienna on their recent tour of Europe.
There are a couple fan videos of them doing it live in Oslo for the first time."Home Free - Skull & Bones, Live in Oslo 17.09.23" is one of them. Chance was a bass for a previous a capella group, so he has the bass chops. Reports from people at the Ubisoft live were that the crowd was VERY into the song - we just don't hear it because the mics were on the guys, not the crowd.
It's totally understandable & accepted to man crush on Home Free. A lot of reactors do. 😂❤ & there is a professionally done live version of the 1st time they did this in concert. It is mesmerizing ❤❤
Great reaction, gentleman. I really enjoy watching your reactions to Home Free. If you want to see great audience reaction, please react to Home Free's Sea Shanty Medley live in concert. You won't regret it!
The attendees at the gaming convention were no doubt gamers and/or developers, rather than music fans, but there was a response from the the listeners. And there's been quite a few new reactors popping up among the gamers, since. If you want to see an audience fully captivated, do the professionally recorded "Sea Shanty Medley, Live" !!! Talk about two-way energy -- flowing back and forth between the huge audience and Home Free! I'm really enjoying your reactions -- thanks for sharing them, I believe you've been indoctrinated into the "Home Fries" !
I was lucky enough to see this performed live at the last two show they did before the current break they are on to get ready for the holiday shows. With so much from the double bass from Chance and Tim, you feel your insides vibrate. When Austin and that operatic delivery from .Rob it just made the whole song perfection.
You guys have to check out their professional live version of Sea Shanty Medley. That is how they sound live!! You can also see an awesome audience reaction! I have been to 2 live performances and they are excellent!
If you want to hear HF live, you MUST listen to their Sea Shanty Medley - LIVE.!! A fairly recent release, it’s professionally recorded at a concert in Mankato MN. It will absolutely blow you away. The audience was about 5000!,
They have performed this live during their recent UK tour. They sounded better on the bigger stage with an audience. There are several concert live videos of Skull & Bones where they perform the whole song. This was cut short. It was at the Ubi Soft gaming center. I don’t think they had a really big audience. These guys sing almost any genre and make it sound like their own music. I would love to hear them sing a really well-written 90’s alternative song. Maybe one day. I know they like singing songs with meaning, as well as fun and upbeat songs.
Awww. 😢 Doesn’t look like we can put links in the comments. Shanrocks has a great concert cam on her channel of “Ain’t Going Down” from the county fair in Canton, Ohio August 2023. Its good audio and video if you want to see a recent performance. Of course, their live, pro recording of “Sea Shanty Medley”, from last month is excellent. And on HF’s Live tab, are the first 3 (free) songs from their London UK Livstream. At 8 minutes in, they start with “Boondocks”, then “Road Sweet Road”, and “Elvira”. Have fun y’all. It’s not a concert, it’s a party.
You might want to see Songs That Didn't Make the Cut. It is part of a live performance that shows the guys not only singing but also doing comedy. They each sing a song (a song that didn't make the "cut" that they personally like) individually, including Adam (beatboxer) and Chris Rupp. There are even some dance moves. Tim emcees the show with his sardonic wit, making good-humored jabs at his fellow acapella members . It's funny and showcases their talent, not only as singers but also as entertainers. One also gets the sense of how they enjoy working with each other and enjoy what they are doing. They consider their concerts to be more like parties than concerts. This one was filmed by audience members. Nonetheless, it is worth seeing.
#Home Free! Highly ReActive guys are Home Fries!! Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole fellas, we fries are truly happy to have you join us. Love your reactions, especially the Home Free ones. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Awesome reaction guys....I really enjoyed it! I love all their live videos better than the studio version...you never know what extras rhey may add...and the bass sounds go even lower than the original!
I have seen reactions from live performances on cell phones but NO cell phone can capture how great they are Live. Keep checking their concert dates, they are international and you have to see them perform live So much going on onstage a cell phone can't keep up so just put it away and enjoy!
If you like this live version then you will truly enjoy their live performance of there Sea Shandy Melody in front of the crowd. Will truly see they are as good live.
Great point you made about wondering if they were playing to an audience! I hadn't thought about that! Back during the height of Covid, they performed LIVE with the band ALABAMA to their hit "Christmas In Dixie" ......no audience because of restrictions but STILL a LIVE PERFORMANCE. You should check it out sometimes.
Home Free has used instruments in a couple of their songs. They've collaborated with Texas Hill several times and they use instruments. When they use instruments they are clearly visible.
If you look really closely you'll see Adam adding to that deep, deep beginning before the percussion sounds start. He's also the one singing the "Skull and Bones" under the others during the chorus❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ And that's a mandolin that Austin is playing 🤩 #HomeFree
I'm probably about 20 years older than the two of you, and I'm WAY TOO DAMN OLD to be a fan boy... but here I am. No music has moved me like Home Free in decades. They are just masters of what they do. Thanks for reacting, and keep up the great work!
I like you, I would have loved to see the audience's reaction! Can you imagine? You're at a gaming convention, 5 guys stroll on stage and announce they're singing a song for a highly anticipated game. You have no idea who these dudes are. Then, HF starts to sing... and WOW, what just happened??? What a song! Who are these guys, and how can you listen to more of their music! That song better be in the game! Anyway, that's what my imagination came up with!
Tim Chance and Adam were all singing bass at the beginning of you can see when Adam shifts over to beatboxing. He was doing a bass drone at the beginning✌️
That wasn't Chance doing the super low notes, that was Tim. There are videos on UA-cam that show them doing the song during a live concert, they pan out to show how large the audience is.
These guys do sound better live usually. They are so talented. At their concerts Tim is usually the front man. Chance spoke here because he wrote the song. Ubisoft wanted some insttumentation I believe so Chance had guitar and Austin used a mandolin.
Man Band! I love you guys! I caught a few Game Reactors who happened on this performance. Their reaction are hilarious. Lots of jokes about this games release schedule, but amazement for Home Free.
I just wanted to let you know that I like your #HomeFree reaction videos. My absolute favorite video of #HomeFree is “Blue ain’t your color.” Just take a look at it. I attended 2 #HomeFree concerts this year. It was great. If you want to attend a concert in 2025, get VIP tickets so you can meet the band and take part in a Q&A.🎶
Wow that sounds amazing Andrea, we will definitely keep that in mind when we visit them. We are glad you like the channel and thank you for the recommendation
Chance wrote this song. He is the lead, but the deep basement base is Tim. He is the one who is vibrating you eardrums. Chance is singing an octave higher. It just makes it sound deeper and fuller.
As I mentioned under your reaction to the lyrics video, according to Tim during their European Tour when they premiered this song live, this isn't actually fully live as most of the backgrounds are tracks because the people in charge didn't trust them to pull it off live. This is from Tim's mouth to our ears at the Gothenburg concert. If you search for it you'll find it here on UA-cam. Parts of it is live, though. It's also, obviously, post produced, which pretty much all of their live videos will be. What that does is that it will create the sounds we actually hear live as it really won't be properly picked up by cameras live. It's about the blend of the mics and the clarity. Still, it's amazing!!! So, I still recommend you react to the actual live version because that's when you really get to see and hear how talented they are!
When this video was release, I binge watched UA-cam reactions. At first, it was mostly gamers reacting to it - the game's video, not the music. One live stream was fascinating as I read the comments flowing so fast. Ahem, they were not impress with the.. Lack of progress since it's been years now... Anyway, there were also comments from those not familiar with Home Free. They were asking if that was a beatboxer, can a bass to that low, etc... I love sea shanty songs and bought both their songs.
It is Tim doing the low bass in the begining. Chance is singing with him in what I'm guessing is an octave above Tim but you can't hear him because Tim's bass overpowers his voice. That's why I think in the studio version they pulled back Tim's bass so you can hear Chance sing the lead. But I think the concensus is that the live version is better. The studio version sounds too polished and flat, although still great of course. I also think Rob sounds louder live. Well, he always does. This was at the the Ubisoft Forward presentation at Summer Gamefest with a live audience. You can hear the crowd start to clap in the background then it fades out and then comes back again for just a few seconds. I would have loved to see their reaction too. Especially because most of these people probably don't even know who they are. Thanks for the video!
I'm so proud of Chance ! He's an awesome songwriter!!
Fully agree Vicki 😊
Opera Rob comes through on the chorus. I would say you are officially Home Fries now! Congratulations! #Home Free!
