They recently released a professional live concert version of this. Adam is amazing! Their " Listen to the Music " also shows off his talent. Thanks for the Home Free reactions! Their " Skull and Bones "makes me melt. LoL.
Fun fact: the song "Leave her, Johnny" was written by a time traveler in the 1860s as an attempt to warn an actor known for playing a pirate about impending doom
Since you like the game Black Flag, you should check out their original sea shanty, Skull and Bones. This Sea Shanty Medley, went viral back during the lock down and Ubisoft was so impressed with them they contacted Home Free and asked if they would write an original sea shanty for their game Skull And Bones. Chance being the sea shanty lover of the group jumped at the chance to write an original shanty which Ubisoft revealed at the summer game fest. There are two versions of this online, the longer lyrics version and the shorter live version at the game fest. There is a professionally recorded Live version of them performing this Sea Shanty Medley which you should also check out. Great reactions.
They have a number of isolation vids, where everyone taped separately at home. In "The Gambler," they create the illusion that they're all in one room around a poker table.
Love Home Free. They have such great harmonies. Chance (red hat, you were right!), came up with the shanty. It went viral. Ubisoft, the game maker, came to Chance and asked him to write a shanty for their new game Skull and Bones. So you should check that out. If you want to hear more from Chance try Helplessly Hoping, I Can’t Outrun You, Yours. They’re tremendously talented men. 😍😃
Yes that is Chance 👍🏼 Chance’s outfits are nods to Nathan Ethan’s version of Wellerman (the one that went viral on Tiktok) and the movie “Life Aquatic” Highly recommend their cover of Try Everything (first video with Chance!) Yes, Home Free is the drug of choice! Feel great with wonderful side effects
There's a live video just dropped a bit ago! The crowd was awesome, done in Mankato, Minnesota. Hometown of Adam Rupp, beatboxer extraordinaire, December of last year. COLD, -5 snow, wind. Blizzards, snow drifts, they made it through.
Well done, mates! You guys are natural Home Fries. If you like this one, the live concert Sea Shanty Medley will blow your socks off. Thank you so much for reacting to Home Free!
The HF guys showing their creativity once again: the TikTok format to manage their separation during quarantine ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Tim staying so still to keep from falling out of the boat he's standing in--it makes me laugh because every time I see him in this I think of the animated pirate dolls in Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean. 😆 And those castanets!! Adam Rupp's percussion and sound effects are second to none!! 🥰 #homefree
I just love the 'casta-nots" that Adam produces! Yes, Hillbillies vs Zombies -- Survivor is really the nearest thing to Halloween-themed music that Home Free sings. Voice Play is the go-to for Halloween. (Hide And Seek featuring Lauren Paley sung by either Voice Play or The Bass Gang is a good one. Lauren sang with both groups for this song.) And I agree; Brothers In Arms should be saved for Remembrance Day (Veterans Day in the US) on or near 11 November. It's a Dire Straits cover. Haunting. One of HF's masterpieces.
Appreciate those recommendations. We have actually recorded and edited and scheduled Brother in Arms for release which is a perfect fitting for Rememberence day. That video will get highlighted for the occasion
Chance - first singer, beard and red cap Rob - 2nd lead singer, blue plaid, always glasses and biggest beard Adam - beats and harmonica Austin - red shirt Tim - bass, Jack Sparrow
Thanks for your reaction! How good are these guys? The fun & energy in this is infectious. This was done during quarantine so none of the guys were even together. The editing of this was great & was done in the Tik Tok style. Love all the guys parts, with Tim's rumbling bass underlying it all. And Adam's beatboxing is phenomenal as always including sea swells & castanets. Amazing how he increased the tempo from one song to another.
You just missed being able to see them live. They were just in the UK at the end of September. They are suppose to be back in 2024. They put on a wonderful show. There is a live professional recording of them singing this medley at a very large venue that lets you hear how great they are live. Please check it out. Great reaction!
Love me some castanets! BTW Adam Rupp has won world beat boxing competitions and Adam Chance was contacted by the gaming company to write the song for "Skull and Bones", Home Free to perform it for the sound track and for the live premier of the game back in the Summer.
Fantastic reaction! Home Free just put out a live version of this, that is incredible! In case you wanted to hear a live performance. They sound just as great live! Thank you! #homefree
Ubisoft heard their Sea Shanty Melody and loved it and approached them with an opportunity to write a shanty for Skull And Bones video game they are releasing.Chance loves sea shanties and everything to do with the sea and loves gaming he jumped at this amazing opportunity. They did a Lyric video and sang a shorter version live at Ubisoft Live Premiere.A lot of reactors do both the lyric and live in the same reaction because the live is much shorter and you get to see who is doing what😊🍟
Chance is a sailor from the West coast Rob is a sailor from the East Coast Adam (the beat boxer) is dressed like the sailor from Pocahontas or The Little Mermaid, Austin is a pirate and Tim is Jack Sparrow
Skull & Bones was written by Chance, you can do the lyric video or the live version at the Ubisoft (game company that commissioned the song by Chance) I like the live version because Tim & Chance really go sub-harmonic in the 1st few notes before Chance takes over the lead....warning ** there are instruments (guitar & mandolin) in Skull & Bones
To bad you didn't do their live version of this , it just came out just a fews weeks back. Skull and Bones is an original song written by Chance. It's amazing, suggestions Butts Remix/Medley, Snap Back, Good Ole Boy Good Time. Have fun enjoying your reactions
Another great reaction guys. I know you aren’t from American, but I still think you would love “ God Bless the USA” with Lee Greenwood, and the singing Sargents. So much beautiful harmony.
More sea shantys please!!! 1) Live version of Sea Shanty Medley 2) Skull & Bones, lyric video, followed by: 3) Skull & Bones, live. I recommend watching both Skull & Bones together😊
Chance is the one that brought Sea Shantys to the rest of the group and the one who wrote Skull and Bones. Chance definitely deserves to be in this fantastic group. Did you hear Ruppster's castanets in Santiana?
Subscribed. Thanks for your reaction! I was at the concert when the live video was filmed for this. It is better than the video. My granddaughter and I were in the front row,it was her Christmas present. They are amazing and the most down to earth guys you could ever meet.
There are two guys named Adam in the group. Adam Rupp is the beatboxer and he and his brother Chris were the founders. Chris left the group several years ago and recommended Adam Chance as his replacement. They call him Chance to avoid confusion. The bass is Tim Faust, though Chance is a baritone who is also a good bass singer, though not nearly as naturally deep a voice as Tim. Rob Lundquist is the bearded Teddy Bear. The high tenor, long-haired Georgia country boy is Austin.Brown. I loved their Covid video called 'Quarantine'. You need to listen to this again to appreciate Adam (the beatboxer) making the sound of castanets.
Home Free has a lyric video of their original Skull and Bones written by Adam Chance, and a live version (shorter) put out by ubi-soft. Maybe you could react to both of them during the same reaction. Thanks for another fun reaction!
Skull and Bones was appropriate for Halloween. They were dressed as sailors. Rob as more of a Great Lakes version. Chance was dressed like Bill Murray in "The Life Aquatic". Austin was dressed as Sinbad the Sailor.
HF did a lot of videos during quarantine. They are all very good, and their video editor worked overtime - Watch Meet in the Middle, for example. They were each provided with audio equipment, and most, if not all, of them were filmed on their phones. They put so much effort into making sure their fans had new content. From Between when they landed after fleeing Europe on March 12, through Nov 6, 2020 they recorded and released 14 videos, and recorded 5 (or 6 - One Voice?) more that were released after the first of the year - Not counting the Christmas special they did and the 6 videos from those songs - but they were done in the studio.
Great reaction! Homefree songs to check out: "Brothers in Arms," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Butts Medley," and the video of Adam Rupp's drum solo. If you REALLY want the ultimate pirate vibe, Voiceplay's "Hoist the Colours" is an a capella masterpiece!
For a complete change of pace you guys should view their beautiful cover of Dire Straits Brothers in Arms. Their beatboxer joins in to create 5 part harmonies that will send chills over you as well as tears. Their bass singer Tim takes the lead in this one.
Skull and Bones Chance wrote it and Ubisoft has an upcoming game called Skull and Bones and Home Free did the title song for it and the song is in the game. How cool is that?.
Home Free was in debt after their cancelled European tour and these videos helped save the band Chance brought the idea of this to the guys and they agreed to do it.
Sea Shanties werent just pirate songs, most seamen would sing them. During quarantine they put out a new video every other week and they have continued ever since. Meet In The Middle is not watched much but it is very cleverly done, their latest is Life Is A Highway
If you really want to be blown away by these guys sounding like instruments check out Ain't Going Down Til the Sun Comes Up. You will NOT be disappointed.
What do you with a drunken sailor, put HIM in the brig until the morning. What do you do with her? 😂😂😂😂 Desert Shield Desert Storm female sailor, and yes I did my fair share of drunken in my day, lmmfao! Love a great Sea Shanty!!!!!
As per the other comments the live version is sooo much better which doesn’t make sense if you think about!! 😂 the recording is suppose to sound better, but not with home free!!❤
They recently released a professional live concert version of this. Adam is amazing! Their " Listen to the Music " also shows off his talent. Thanks for the Home Free reactions! Their " Skull and Bones "makes me melt. LoL.
Sounds amazing! Can't wait to listen to it

I legit snort laughed at the imitation of Chance not getting the costume memo, "Guys!!" *Chance pouts*
😂😂

And there are audience videos of the first live performance in Europe, too.
@@nancyholter5646 The recent live performance in Oslo has great sound. You can really hear the two basses separated out.
Thank younfor the recommendation and advice 😊
They released a video about every two weeks during COVID helping to keep me sane, then after covid they released an album of all their lockdown songs.
Love it
Skull and Bones was appropriate for Halloween. They were dressed as sailors. Rob as more of a Great Lakes version. Chance was dressed like Bill Murray in "The Life Aquatic". Austin was dressed as Sinbad the Sailor.
Looking forward to seeing that one

Thank you for the recommendations 😊 Brother in Arms has been recorded, edited and scheduled for release soon 😊
There is a video out there that shows Tim's closet. Couldn't believe there is someone out there that loves a costume more than me.
For a complete change of pace you guys should view their beautiful cover of Dire Straits Brothers in Arms. Their beatboxer joins in to create 5 part harmonies that will send chills over you as well as tears. Their bass singer Tim takes the lead in this one.
Brother on Arms has been recorded, edited and will be released very soon. It certainly was powerful
Looks like Highly ReActive are becoming Home Fries
Think that is a very fair assumption 😂
They did this during Lockdown
Amazing
This is an amazing song. It was done during the pandemic. They do have a live performance which is also amazing. 💗💗
Love it!
Notice the subtle tempo increase in the various shanties.
Gotta love itA
Skull and Bones Chance wrote it and Ubisoft has an upcoming game called Skull and Bones and Home Free did the title song for it and the song is in the game. How cool is that?.

Check out their cover with Peter Hollens of I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For, also recorded during the Covid shutdown, I think.
