Just started doing this exercise today. Continued thinking this was a major health problem that needed a doctor’s attention. Hoping this works out! I can realllly feel the pain throughout my solar plexus. Thanks!
Glad to hear you feel this is helping Jared! Of course, it's good to check with your doctor if you're worried about a health issue, but stress and tension alone can be quite uncomfortable!
I am going thru withdrawals from a pain killer and I am doing great with it. It has been super rough. I seen this and did it once and wow! I started crying after I was done. It really got rid of some tension thank you Soooooooooooooo much !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be doing this daily
Wow, that is powerful. Thank you for sharing. This area is very sensitive to stress and emotions, and also pain. Good to release each day. Take good care!
That was an interesting experience. I'm currently nauseous from solar plexus pain. I figured I might as well try this. While shaking, I felt something in my solar plexus. Definitely tension but.. almost like something moving that was uncomfortable. Once the moving and taps were over, I do feel slightly better. I'll continue doing this. I deal with severe anxiety and I think my solar plexus has been reacting negativity to it these last 6 months. I've never had this issue prior. Much appreciated! Best of luck everyone!
Anthony, I'm wishing you lots of benefit from the practice. If you keep practicing, I think you'll notice more awareness of when anxiety is causing your body to tense up. It may take daily work to relax again but eventually it should get easier to go through the steps and release the built-up tension. Don't overdo it, there may be times when you need to take a break, but in general if you keep moving you should notice a more comfortable feeling and less anxiety, or at least more confidence to deal with it when it arises.
Yep, even I felt the same. Like there was some sort of ball moving and tense, so tense that it started hurting during the upper body movement exercise. And after upper body movement and tapping was over, I felt this warm sensation in the solar plexus area, as if energy is rushing to it
That’s great! I’ve been dealing with tight solar plexus for 32 years and have been doing everything I can but this feels different and like it might help!!! Thank you for posting. I never comment but I appreciate you and I like your way as well. Simple and clear. Warm.
That's amazing, and thank you for commenting! I hope it continues to help you. This area is very sensitive, as you know, and stress will come back, but if you practice regularly you may find you feel more relaxed more often. Good luck!
This legit helped me tonight even after just doing it twice. Hurt a fair bit but I've had a dull ache in my lower solar plexus/upper abdomen for awhile now comes on most days and it's a separate type of pain to my gallstone pain i sometimes get. Had no idea what it wad and feared it was something bad, but this helped alot even after one go. Gonna do this a few times every day until it doesn't come back often then maintain once a day, such a good move! Thank you 👍👍👍🙏
omg I am so relieved to discover other people suffer from that tight, achy feeling "like a lead brick" as ciaran perry said. I am feeling a little better this first try, I'll do it every day and see if my main problem doesn't get easier: chronic constipation. Will this exercise help with that?
Right! A lot of people hold their stress on the stomach/ abdominal area. Keep doing it everyday. I'd also recommend checking out the videos about "intestine exercise". Basically gentle squeezing for the abdominal muscles. That practice can help you keep things moving more naturally...
Hey how has your practice been?? Have you been up to date with the exercises and has it benefited you?? I'm just starting and I feel good about this haha. I am already feeling release
Thank you, I get intense pain there that causes me nausea there because of gas that just won't come out and it's taken a big toll on my mental health, just the first exercise already helped!
@ciaran perry Yes, if my esophagus gets irritated past a certain point burping becomes very very difficult and I start swallowing air unconsciously, and I can't burp it out. I was having a crisis and it wasn't fully healed. Now it's healed but sometimes I'm just swollen and I can't get myself to release that big gas bubble in my stomach, even though I can do it for small ones. Now I've trained myself to really push my tongue against the roof of my mouth to swallow and I find that doing ab exercises with weights, especially where they're serving as stabilizers like one sided movements helps. Sometimes doing 60+ crunches helps. My bowel also moves really slow and sometimes the lower stomach valve gets irritated too, I have IBS and high anxiety, but I switched from feeling it in my chest to feeling it in my digestion. I try to compensate with exercise, controlled breathing, a hot shower, sometimes one thing works, sometimes the other, I never know. It's a real pain when I'm trying to sleep or just be comfortable.
@ciaran perry Does something work for you? It's so uncomfortable. There's a Reddit called /noburp which is very depressing to look at. I think my cause may have been dopamine related, there was a time when I was taking a lot of ritalin and even amphetamine sulphate for focus(ptsd, engineering degree) and it started around that time. Yesterday for example there was barely any motility in my bowels. Don't know of it happens to you but bowel movements sometimes trigger that burp you need. I massaged throughly four times, did yoga positions, did 100 crunches, 30 reverse crunches, a bunch of one sided curls and still almost no relief. I take clebopride if I really need it but I don't want tardive dyskinesia 😐
@ciaran perry Domperidone does nothing for me except cause palpitations. Either metoclopramide or clebopride. Supposedly also tightens the esophageal sphincter. Isn't there something you can take? I remember there being pancreatin pills. Have you tried all the obvious options like me? Exercise like a long walk, abs, deep breathing, drinking hot liquids frequently, ginger, all that stuff. Walks I felt were very productive and also getting up every 30m from my chair and stretching my back.
Thank you! i didnt know i had an issue with this. Always wondered why i had spasms from a light touch to my stomach and burning sensation in pancreas after eating.💛💛
thank very much, very useful video. I feel a pain in solar plexus, like a block, a stiffness, in this area. I'll try this every morning in my yoga routine to feel if I can dissolve it.
I don't know if it's releted but i have been doing it for only a minute and a half and suddenly i burp a lot of air this is very helpful thank you very much i often have the anxiety/panic attack at night hopefully this will prevent it
I keep coming back to this video ✨✨✨🌼🤗 I have sent it to a few friends of mine already. My hubby thinks I'm funny when I do my tummy shake. Then we both laugh but in a good way, and it's a win-win 🤍🌞☺️🍎🦋
will relaxing this area along with other areas allow emotions/trauma to be processed? I suffer from issues with dissociation, namely depersonalization/derealization. I'm starting to believe that fixing this issue starts in the body and not in the mind/thoughts. Would like to know your thoughts on this.
Very interesting question. I would tend to agree that relaxing this area can help with processing emotions and painful memories. There is a very good book called _The Body Keeps The Score_ by Beesel Van Der Kolk which relates to this question. Check out some of our other videos for more techniques to relax and connect to the body, they explain more of how that may help with mental and emotional work as well. Or, if you're interested in meeting an instructor, you can always check out bodynbrain.com for info and an introductory meeting.
I just got the wind knocked out of me from skiing, and BOY LET ME TELL YOU, it HURTS. I can't do these right now but I will once I recover a little bit.
Nadine, if you have any concerns it is best to consult your doctor. With that said, it is typical to feel some discomfort in the sides or chest as you move your body in this way, so don't overdo it. Afterward, notice if your breathing has gotten deeper.
I felt very tensed at my right colon side like a knife. I have inflammation bowel disease. After doing it for the first time I felt slightly warm breathing in my chest, is it normal? And thank you for the great video
A slightly warm feeling in the chest can be normal, yes. You are noticing the very tense feeling on the right side, that is good. Breathing and relaxation are the important goals. It will take time to release tension, but you may gradually notice a less tense feeling. Don't overdo it, and practice whenever you remember to do it.
Yes, this is ok. With a little practice, the exercise should no longer produce muscle soreness, and you may be able to notice the underlying stress and tension releasing. Do it gently at first- it does not need to be done very strenuously to produce a benefit.
Trying to find information on a tight stomach or what feels like knots in your stomach is so hard. Good to see other people have the same issue. I’m going to try this daily along with my other ways to manage stress. Thank you
When you feel fear or strong anxiety, you may also notice tightness in the upper abdomen. Start gently, breathe, keep stimulating that area until it starts to relax.
Good question Daniel! In general, issues like that seem to be worsened by stress. Depending on how you feel, you can try some intestine exercises (abdominal movement exercise) to help relax your body. Also, walking or gentle jogging with mindful breathing can help relieve stress. Basically, you want to help your system get into the 'rest & digest" mode as deeply and naturally as possible. After some movement or gentle exercise, try comfortably breathing with your hands resting on the stomach area, being mindful of the feeling, for 3-5 minutes. Gradually, you may notice your stomach area relaxing.
@@BodyNBrain the stomach is fine..is more the upper abdomen/les that has been giving me trouble for months now. I've been on walks and the anxiety is still there..I'll keep trying, though!
im really enjoying this exercise but i feel like i might be doing something wrong- after a few seconds of doing it i feel some air "noise" inside and it feels like air goes up. just wanted to check if anyone has similar experience?
when i do this exercise, i feel growing tenderness in several areas of my abdomen -- bottom left, solar plexus, and to the right of solar plexus as well. I know i have a lot of tension, and rock hard fascia that ive been trying to heal using a fascia blaster tool. Also have hiatal hernia that i manage as well. Is the tenderness in those areas normal you think?
Interesting. Was this the first time you tried it? If you normally feel tension there, it could be related to your body beginning to relax/ release tension. Best to do a little at a time and see how it progresses. If bloating persists, check with your doctor. But it sounds like tension release.
Body & Brain TV first time doing this, I have tried to relax this area before and the same thing has happened. I do have diastasis recti though so I wonder if it’s related
THANK YOU MUCH..I store ALL my anxiety in my solar plexus..doing the exercise felt so good!
Thanks Stefano, glad it helped!

Wow, I'm glad to hear it!
OH MY GOD! Your are a GENIUS! This exercise feels life changing as I store all my anxiety in my solar plexus. THANK YOU!
Wow, glad to hear it feels helpful to you! Stick with it, or come back to it whenever you feel stress and anxiety building up! Good luck Brian!
What a simple solution for tightness in the solar plexus. Thank you for sharing.
