Me too and I can’t wait for next year already! I might try sign up for etape Loch Ness as that is also closed roads. So much nicer with no cars around isn’t it
I pre booked a car park a couple of miles from the start, just outside the congestion zone. Found it on Parkopedia. I was in Pink B (the last group) but found it too slow and spent all day trying to get past very thick traffic, including a lot of riders who had delayed their start because of the rain and two very long jams for accidents. Fantastic day! I’ll be back next year but aim for an earlier start. Thanks for the video, it really caught the atmosphere.
Thanks for the comment! Good tip on the parking option, definitely one to consider for next year as it was a pain for us getting a train in from the outskirts. Sure hope it's dry for 2025 for a better experience, and less punctures for the inner tube gang 😆
I vividly remember banging out 300W+ up Palmerston Road and seeing someone fly past, and just got pushed your video, chapeau (I'm in the black jersey and white helmet on the right) - great ride and really nice video!
Thanks Richard it was a great ride! Can’t wait to book on for next year already 😁 Coast to Coast for me on Saturday this week, keep an eye out for the video next week - if I survive 😆
@@theyorkshirewheeler haha! CTS South? If so, I’ll see you there 😂 hopefully the wind forecast calms down, it’s looking be like the last 40miles of ride London for the entire day at the moment…
@@richardandrewsmall No afraid not, I've got one of the northern editions - Seascale to Whitby and tackling Hardknott Pass just 15 miles into the ride! Weather is looking mixed at the moment but hoping this rainy spell passes by then. Have a great ride and stay safe
Thanks! Was my first too, think we managed to start around 7:15 in the end. Kinda missed the start point as we just rolled through it, was expecting a bit of a group/wave standing start but hey ho. Can’t wait for the next one!
Fantastic ride dude. Have a similar setup Ribble endurance sl & abus windbreaker 👍 Did the freecycle ridelondon 100km social chat laps in central london. Watched the women's sprint race after that. huge uk garage fan growing up too 🎶 👍 😃
Thanks mate appreciate it! The freecycle section looked so good, might bring my kids along next time and get them on that as they’d love the experience! Nice to see a fellow Ribble rider here in the comments 🫶🏻
Well done chaps! Would have loved to do that ride.. health problems put paid to that.. "sick" Ribble bike. I have a Ribble gran Fondo customised by myself 👍🚴😁
Yeah I know what you mean. People are advised to keep left but most actually don’t. If I decide to go for a better time next year starting as early as possible is crucial
Great pace mate. Although you’ve had a later start, you still managed to get back by midday? I had a 6am start and got to the bridge by 12. Great video’ 😊
Also, forgot to say, we’ve had absolute zero crashes on my way at that early slot, which is why it’s always best to choose the quickest planned finishing time (3.5-4.00h.) 😅
Sadly, one of the bad things about the ride is the start and the post-finish areas. Theres little at the start, nowehre to get a drink which you get on just about every sportive. The end at Tooley Street just dumps you onto the Thames bridge junction, with no family meet up area.
I missed the final water stop somehow but the final welfare sticker location just had toilets so ended up riding the remaining 20th miles with no fluids. Was gasping for water by the end of it!
Great video mate , we done this to , was great up until I hit mile 60 and my hamstring went and that was it lol stopped filming and only focussed on crossing the line . Next year I’m coming back with vengeance lol 🤙🏻
Ah man at least you finished though 💪🏻 my hamstrings are terrible and I have flexibility, trying to make an effort to go the gym once a week and only focus on leg work to try get them woken up again! Have you got a video uploaded? Will go and check it out if so🙌🏻

Great video memories, the speed in the tunnels was insane. Thoroughly enjoyed the day, my 1st Ride London but I'm certain not my last.
@@johnstygall860sure was, I quite liked the sudden warmth in the tunnels as it was a nippy start 🥶
That headwind back into London was brutal!
I’m still haunted by it now 😂

Wow brave man, chapeau! I saw all kinds of bikes on the day. Such a great experience!

Such a shame it isn’t in the Surrey Hills anymore. Unfortunately, the locals couldn’t handle a closed road once a year.
Yes definitely! Looks like I did my first ride London a few years too late 😕
Is it compulsory to wear a cycling helmet for this event?
Pretty certain it was yeah

How long is this ride?
I did the 100 mile route but they also offer 30 and 60 mile options
Sungod Vulcans? Quechua have a similar-looking pair.
Yeah these are the Vulcan ones, I’ve not tried the smaller offering but like bigger shades for more wind protection
That's always some knob that wants to cycle too fast through a crowd.
😂 I mean people are told to all keep left to let riders pass but clearly didn’t bother adhering to that
