As men age our testosterone levels naturally decrease each year…on top of that when we reach the age of 40 we start to suffer from Sarcopenia which is a natural loss of muscle due to ageing.
And when you add the slowdown of our metabolism and added belly and body fat due to our unhealthy lifestyle, it because an uphill battle to get back into shape in our 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.
The goal is to naturally increase our testosterone levels, improve our metabolism, balance our hormones, feed our muscles and get rid of all the junk food in our diet.
    You're a man...most likely over the age of 40!
The most important hormone in our body is testosterone...
When you naturally increase your number male hormone, you quickly burn belly fat, lose weight, boost energy and build lean muscle.
The most important way to achieve this is through your diet.
Your nutrition has a huge effect on our hormonal health, and your hormones are closely linked to your overall health, strength and youthfulness...
When it comes to nutrition…it is easier than you think.
As a Certified Fitness Nutrition Coach and Transformation Specialist for Men over 40 I’ve created a nutrition lifestyle for men proven research, science and evidence-based information which ensures that you are eating the right foods with the proper ratio of macros, at the right times to maximize your results for fat loss, muscle definition and hormone balance.
The nutrition plan is based on a Testosterone Diet while boosting your metabolism.
We don’t count calories or weight my foods…we just ensure that there is a source of all macronutrients and a balanced plate or balanced source of food with each meal.
The goal is to eat 3 times per day with each meal containing a balanced plate with sources of starchy carbs, healthy fats, protein and veggies/fruits:
    Balanced Plate Breakdown
Starchy Carbs - you need a source of complex carbs with each meal to ensure that you support your thyroid which is responsible for your fat burning metabolism, while increasing testosterone, balancing your insulin levels and building lean muscle
Protein - a source of protein is essential which each meal as this is the foundation macronutrient and building blocks of our muscles, bones and helps with metabolic processes within the body…also animal protein is key as it will contains some good cholesterol important for testosterone production
Healthy Fat - healthy fat is another essential macronutrient as it contains cholesterol. The precursor to testosterone production is cholesterol. Without it, you will not get testosterone production, so ensuring you eat healthy source of fat with each meal is KEY!!!!
Veggies/Fruits - vegetables and/or fruits depending on your meal is also a MUST when eating as they will contain the micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) your body needs to support your testosterone while keeping estrogen and cortisol levels low. Also, you will get other benefits that will support your immune, antioxidants and other vital nutritional needs to improve your overall health.
NOTE: The foods you get from carbs, fats and proteins will also include micronutrients to help support your hormones!

Really good video! We are an active couple in our 80's and are all about healthy aging. We still strive for a healthy body, a calm mind, and a positive outlook. And we feel better than ever! For us, switching to a whole food plant-based diet was a key in us both overcoming life-threatening diseases 14 years ago. We are doing research for our new UA-cam channel and hope to inspire others. Learned a lot here. Thank you!

Hey Funk… awesome video! Thanks for sharing your daily meals.. it’s definitely a great refresher and guide to follow. I’m a huge fan of all your metabolic workouts that you and your lovely wife Angela put up on your page. I usually do one of them in the morning before work, and train BJJ at night. Because of the extra output, I was wondering what you recommend for in between snacks and/or extra calories that could give extra energy and not leave me hungry. I’m especially very hungry after striking workouts classes as well. I don’t really do the protein bars cause of all the sugar and junk they have in the ingredients so Il usually have mixed unsalted nuts/ apples/protein shakes/or mixed berries to keep my hunger satisfied while burning the extra calories. Please let me know if there’s something I’m missing you that recommend. Thanks again for all of your expertise and awesome videos. I’ve been following you on UA-cam for close to 17 years. Wishing you guys all the best!

That's roughly between 1600-1900 cals in these 3 meals. So this guy, with this built, can maintain this amount of muscle with only this food? That's only good if one's cutting or on a diet to loose fat in general. That's not enough to build muscle (progressively overload), sustain demanding workouts, or help your body recover from training in general. The quality of the food is fine of course, the quantity is the problem. So either this guy, who I otherwise really like as a trainer and follow his workouts, snacks in-between his main meals, which is fine if he didn't want to show in the video (but he should have mentioned for informative purposes), or if he doesn't [unless he is a freak of nature and a very lucky man] then he is on HRT and/or some performance enhancing substance(s) (which is again fine but he should have mentioned to avoid creating unrealistic expectations to people). That's with all due respect; I'm no hater, that's my honest opinion. Peace

ITS NOT! You need way more calories than this and more strength resistance training not HIIT. Hope this helps

Hi, can anyone point me to any research that suggests brown rice increases estrogen, please? I have been interested in nutrition for a long time and seriously started researching and planning meals since I took up MMA training a year ago (at age 56). Brown rice has more nutrients and therefore better energy to calories ratio than white rice. However, it is much higher than white rice in naturally absorbed arsenic which we all know increases risk of cancer (boiling rice for 5 mins then discarding the water before adding fresh water to continue cooking is a good way to reduce the arsenic). Because of this it is recommended to limit brown rice consumption to once or twice a week. Brown rice is in a lot of plant-based powder proteins that I take so I consume more than what is recommended. Nearly all information exults brown rice as extremely beneficial and I would love to understand if brown rice has a second strike against it - estrogen increase. Does white rice really have enough nutritional value other than just being a carbohydrate?

All I know abt the arsenic is that I used to use brown rice protein daily and developed high arsenic levels in my blood, so I avoid rice in general now

Will not increase estrogen. White rice is just easier and faster to digest

Not realistic long term, tried this and it worked for awhile but didn’t break my plateaus. No matter what, eventually you have to track and count calories up and down.
