I am South African and I can tell you that we South Africans don't hate people from other countries, the only thing we hate is the behaviour and not respecting the laws and culture of our country
True very true we've been living with people from Mozambique since early 90s without problem . The challenge is people who have no respect for our culture and way of life and our laws
Its called bots who want drive the agenda of division. Ask you self this who stands to loose the most is two of the most powerful countries in Africa get along at a grassroots level ?🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
We don't hate Nigerians. It is the behavior of some Nigerians that we hate. We would appreciate it if those Nigerians would respect our laws the way we respect the laws of their country when we are there. Call us xenophobic all you like but we will never be apologetic about hating criminals who come here illegally and disrespect our country. Ofcourse there are law abiding Nigerians and we have no problem with them.
and they don't understand the the media is the 1 that spreads the hate amongst us to distract SAns from real problems we are facing. we just don't want them to be part of the problem , our fight is with those who continue to keep us poor and they use our own to distract us. 1 day Africans will understand why we SAns will never stop fighting for our true freedom, we will get what belongs to us back. our struggle continues
Haiboo! We SAns use must a lot but never in a bad way,and somethings cannot be explained with only English , we have to add our language to drive home our point. Thank you for loving us, I love Nigerians too. One Africa 🇳🇬 🇿🇦. You have plus one subscriber now.
Honestly speaking in South African even though you are considered poor it's better than many other African countries and you still have access even though not frequently to the nice life out there. At my home we used to rely on my mom as a domestic worker but she could afford taking us out to kfc in the evening, we would also visit the beach, visit the wild life , visit stadiums, have insurance. Note that all those things I mentioned are often known to be accessible to the rich, even though the quality of what we had access to is not exactly as those who are rich we did enjoy the little we had. When I tell some foreigners that my mom made a living by being a domestic worker they hardly believe it cause they expected we would live from hand to mouth. Her salary was just R4500 per month and she made other money through selling Avon and Tupperware. Even those South Africans who live in slums many of them have access to TV's, they know what's happening in the country, they are familiar with many places.
S Africans are peace loving people. We love our country and we don't want to be bullied. S Africans don't hate Nigerians but hate their behavior Their conduct is so wild,of cause not all of them but most of them. They can do anything cruel or not as long at the end they will get money.I don't know a good Nigerian but I believe there are good ones but dominated by bad ones.Even their pastors are the sane. Zimbos are very angry but to innocent people South Africans..maybe they realized that chasing white people from zim was not solution. They have land but left it and come to SA to work for the very white people they chase away. They take their anger to black S Africans, but why?
My sentiments exactly. We have lecturers in our Universities and schools. We have Nigerian professionals all over. We never had problems. It's only when communities stand up to the wrong criminal elements everyone becomes angry at us. South Africans are not scared of gangs, drug lords and criminals. Whrn we are fed up we fight and clean out neighborhoods.
@@zusibone You said"South Africans dont tolerate gangs, kidnaps and robberies" and we clean up and fight. Very funny. Everyone knows that gang culture, kidnappings and robberies have taken over South Africa. The only safe places are deep in the suburbs where the rich whites have guns, and high fences, burglar proof doors, cameras, gates, and guard dogs and they still get victimized.
@@originaldelta I don't know where you get your information. Just stay out of South African business for a minute and relax. Your opinion doesn't matter at all
You are so pretty! Welcome to our beautiful country 🙏🏾🤗 and yes we do not hate anyone. We get mislabelled as xeno because we want people to come correct. Thank you for clarifying 🙏🏾
Hey Sis...I happened upon your video and I liked it! I appreciate the effort you took to tell the world about your experience here in South Africa. We don't hate any of our brothers and sisters. We were just naïve after 94 when we allowed everyone to cross into our country without knowing their intentions. All good people from all over the world, especially the African continent are welcome if their intention is to help us build a safe and prosperous South Africa and Africa. Those who just want to perpetrate crime we don't want "shem"...and they "Must" go.... Thanks for your honesty and your striking beauty ♥♥ . If South Africans are Nigerians unite, Africa will be great!
I will admit that we do have a teenage pregnancy problem, either than that, the single parent household and kids being raised by grandparents stems from the apartheid system when families would be separated. Fathers would have to leave to go work in the Mines and places that are far away from home, they'd usually go home once or twice a year, hence you'd have mother's raising kids singlehandedly. Then sometimes, dad would leave for work and never return, start a new life where he works, the mom would then be forced to fend for the children and they usually found work as live in domestic workers, that's when the kids are now left with the grandparents... From all of that apartheid mess, we got used to single parent households and men got used to abandoning their children, the system got abolished but we are still suffering from its effects till this day shame... They got rid of it but righted its wrongs. I hope you get to learn more about it so that you can also teach.
But current South Africans especially the youth can’t make that as an excuse to fall pregnant none stop or to leave women alone with babies they created, we South Africans especially black need to have strict approach about this single parents pandemic that’s going on.
What is it about Nigeria which causes you and others to come to South Africa? I know that thousands are in Europe and America. But I am specifically asking about those coming to SA. I have not met anyone in SA interested to immigrate or visit Nigeria ( I guess there are some; maybe the naive who want to go to those charismatic churches etc) or of course I am aware of business people MTN; retail and oil. But general public I.e wanting to attend university or open salon or corner shop or printing shop in Nigeria I have yet to meet them
Thank you for a great channel and content.I do concur with the fact that we don't hate Nigerians. We've been living with African migrants from the apartheid times, but have never had any problems with them. We started staying with a lot of Malawian in the early '90's and they're still in the townships, married, working and owning businesses. Theyre not known for crime in all these years. Many Nigerianso only started coming to our country in the recent past. It's only some of the Nigerian crime, drug/human trafficking and utter disregard of our country's laws that's the problem, aided by our own corrupt government officials and the Police. We end up being forced to take law into our own hands because of this. But, we love Nigerians and they're very candid and very funny people. I have a lot of Nigerian friends who are good people. I really love the way they're so funny and able to light up your day 🤗🤗🤗
We have neighbourhoods that the Nigerians want to take over and have declared them no go areas for South Africans, last year they marched to hand over a petition to change Sunnyside in Pretoria to Little Lagos coz they said they are contributing towards our economy when they are running illegal businesses and not paying tax, quite a few teenage girls were found there who had been human trafficked so we are fighting for the future of our children. If you live in Gauteng go and visit Hillbrow, Turffontein, Kempton Park, Benoni, JHB CBD, Sunnyside. A Nigerian youtuber who lives here in South Africa once admitted thst she doesn't like going to Hillbrow coz it's full of Nigerians doing wrong things and it's dangerous 🤷♀️. The people have been telling the government and they don't listen so we are used to fighting for what is right that's why people are speaking out every opportunity they get.
Yeah I am Nigerian living in Johannesburg and even I hate the fact that these areas you have out listed are known for so much docietal decay brought on by Nigerian elements.
I'm 100% South African, and can confirm everything you said about my country is very true. As for us hating Nigerians, that is totally untrue. I personally have many good Nigerian friends and colleagues whom I love and respect very much. The problem comes with the many drug lords and con men all over the country, the majority of whom unfortunately happen to come from Nigeria. These are the people who are giving your country a very bad name.
Omg I really enjoyed this video. Opened up my eyes to see how other people view our country 😆 we LOVE Nigerians, I don’t even know where that idea came from. I remember meeting a Nigerian lady at a nail salon and I asked what Wizkid’s Ojuelegba means because I was always so curious and loved the song but never knew what it meant lol. She was so sweet and explained the song word for word 😂 I love my African sisters & brothers ❤️
We started loving Fela Kuti's music in the seventies at varsity. We love Naijas. My three nieces are married to Nigerian men and we have Nigerian grandchildren. 😂😂❤. So we don't hate Nigerians. 😂❤. Gogo/grandma from Soweto South Africa 🇿🇦
South africa black people have grown alot interms of wealth, last year The President was celebrating "The Black Middle class" or "The Rich/affording Black South Africans". which has turned to be the fastest rising class in africa. The biggest middle class in Africa is In south africa, which is dominated by black South Africans, and less white south africans(since they are minority, and black Sans bing Majority).jus like In America there are lot of Poor white Americans, than Black Amercians, because of Population differences between the racial groups. On the hate subject, they usually say there's thin line between love and hate. Meaning love coud happen to be hate because they both bear obsession with something at some point. We don't hate you it's js the bad Reputation Nigerians have created in south africa. Usually they are alwys at wrong side of the law. It's like all the rotten bad Nigerians come to South africa then the good /hardworking /Successful ones go to Europe or America not South africa.
Thanks for sharing your perspective. I am also learning more from the comments and interactions. On Nigerians and crime, I cannot defend anyone committing crime, especially in a country that has welcomed them. However, there are also a lot of law-abiding Nigerians in South Africa, especially professionals (Medical doctors, lecturers, etc.)These people are usually quiet and just go about their business so you wouldn’t even know where they come from. Unfortunately, those involved in crimes are loud and visible, because some of their activities involved interacting with the local community.

You're the second Nigerian I hear saying she was shocked by the funeral cover. The 1st one said sometimes a family can keep a corpse in the mortuary for up to 7 months, while saving for a decent funeral. A funeral plan is not to wish a person dead, but to have the money ready gor a decent funeral should something happen. We all know that death cones unexpectedly and unplanned for, unlike a wedding. It is really an insurance. I'm thinking, this is a business idea that you can introduce to Nigeria. It can blossom and make you some money and create employment. It will take a Nigerian to change the internal culture and perception. Just stating it as a business opportunity.
And how do you know those who abide by the law? because most south Africans thinks that if you are from Nigeria, then you must be a drug dealer. I have experience it myself, I went pick n pay to buy something and requested for more pick n pay plastic to put some of my stuff and the lady was asking me if i was going to use the plastic to put my drugs. Can you imagine that, there's these sense of generalisation by most south Africans that if you're a Nigeria, then is either you're a drug dealer or a human trafficker. The question that nobody has answered is, how does Nigerians pass through airports and seaports to bring drugs in south Africa?
You should do a cooking video about Nigerian food, I've always wanted to try it & you look like you can cook. And yes, make a part 2 for this video as, well. Tell us what you think about South African food.
Teenage pregnancy is a big deal😭... It a conversation we need to have with our youngsters... And also the single parent thing, it also an issue that we need to tackle... We're basically raising a fatherless generation 💔
Lol who doesn't hate crime. Take countries with the lowest of crime. Would criminals be attracted to a place with strict laws and few crimes? South Africa has always had a crime culture unfortunately. Government needs to have better laws to tackle criminality
South Africans don't hate other Africans, they hate criminal behaviour of other people. We are a peace loving country as long as you respect our laws we gonna love you back.
Aren't there south african criminals? Are the majority of rapists and murderous convicted in South Africa other nationalities or locals? This is just an excuse you guys use
@@refiloeloate8838 unfortunately SA leads in gender based violence and crime in Africa. How can foreigners be to blame when the locals out number then in large? Why does there seem to be less protest when a local commits a crime compared to a foreigner?burning down a foreigners business does not help anyone. Lastly when you enter a new market you need a local help you navigate those areas. The same applies in the selling of narcotics. I love SA but the attitude of some of their people needs to change.
@@Joelfreedom4 it's because no country in the world wants to import criminals, the local criminals are enough. SA has high crime rate, high gender based violence like you are saying so why bring in more ruthless criminals into the system. Crime does know nationality that's why why a foreigner commits crime in most countries they get deported after serving their sentence. So please stop promoting crime and protecting criminals, let's rather exchange good skills, you'll see there'll be love amongst Africans.
Let me clear something up. Black South Africans are the majority in this country at 80+%. Of course you’ll see a lot more of them in low skilled jobs. The same way you’ll see a lot more Nigerians in low skilled jobs in Nigeria. Expecting every single black South African to work an upper and middle class job is not realistic at all. The same with when she said South Africans pop out babies just casually. I don’t even have the energy to explain 🤦🏽 This whole video is based on assumptions but she did add an disclaimer at the beginning.
Okay chief. I appreciate the part that you cleared up, I’m also learning from your comments. Everything I said was based on my personal observation and that’s why I added the disclaimer.
What she and other Nigerian women don't understand is that South Africa is a socially progressive country. Teen pregnancy and out of wedlock pregnancy used to result in women being out-casted and shamed but we women fought for our rights and things are now what she sees. Pregnant school kids were once not allowed to go to school or return to the same school after pregnancy. We've come a long way.
Apartheid, which only ended in 94, contributed to households without father's, injustices of the past contributed to a homely lifestyle not being the norm, though there are many black people who grow up with both parents, but many dont as well. So yeah
Hello Sharon. I love you work. First time watching your channel and I am your subscriber. What is the deal with funeral cover? You second person mentioning this and the Korean short skirt. I enjoyed your video so much. You are a brutal honest person. We love our Nigerian brothers and sisters. You killed me with laughter when you mentioned the funeral cover. I guess I would considered a killer for taking funeral cover for my family and extended family. Funerals are very expensive and it’s a taboo to keep a corpse in the funeral parlor for more than a month. I was shocked when a Nigerian friend lost their her father in the UK in December 2020, and he was buried in Nigeria in December 2021. It just didn’t make sense to me.

It's a beautiful video this one. A beautiful Nigerian lady elaborating on her experience about South Africa. Xenophobia is fuelled by a few things around few people; there's a bigger picture ladies and gentlemen. In the bigger picture people should learn each other's cultures and traditions. By learning about each other, it will make it better for people to tolerate each other. In South Africa 🇿🇦 in particular, there's still a lot of work to be done in bringing more understanding and tolerance between Zulu speaking people and Sotho-Tswana speaking people. The best way for African people to truly unite as Africans is to do away with tribalism. TRIBALISM is Africa's biggest problem. Tribalism creates stereotypes, it creates misunderstanding, it creates unnecessary hatred and hence unnecessary violence amongst people. As a South African in Canada 🇨🇦, I relate better with black Canadians than people of different tribes in my home country. This lady should be an example of how Nigeria 🇳🇬 and South Africa 🇿🇦 can truly work together for the betterment of the continent of Africa 🌍.
@K Naive and ridiculous is your African culture which is at war with itself. In South Africa for example, locals attacking other African migrants through xenophobic hatred. So, yes I identify better with Black Canadians than your ridiculous, melancholic African culture!
True. South Africans don't hate Nigerians. It's just that they are weary of Nigerians, only because of the large and dominant role that Nigerians play in drug trafficking in SA. That being said, South Africans do know and respect that Nigerians also excel in Academia and are often able to distinguish between the criminals and the corporates. The negative vibe is just due to stereotypes. Usually South Africans are a curious people, because during apartheid there was no exposure to other African nations. At the end of the day, most South Africans are ignorant about other African cultures but they do love everyone. 🇿🇦❤🇳🇬
Thank you for your feedback about the country, firstly I would say try to look at the history of South Africa, you will understand how things ended up being the way they are currently. Africanss, coloureds, Indians were all segregated Africans were at the bottom of the barrel in everything. The townships were made according to race , that's why we fought for the struggle because we were oppressed from our own land. We are not out of the woods yet, blacks have worked hard to where they are. It helps to learn about the history of the country. We coming too far not yet where we want to be, we can see a lot of improvement
I 100% agree with you. I also believe that the inequality gap will be reduced to the barest minimum in years to come, seeing that the black SA community are working hard at getting the best out of their land. Thank you for watching ❤️❤️

Africa in its entirety "Must"unite!😀😃Yes i am saying "Must!" because we have to do this as Africans if our continent will ever have a chance to develop into a better one and reach its full potential. No one is coming from abroad to save us,so we owe this to ourselves.First...we must learn to love and uplift one another, stand together against all kinds of crimes and corruption that are crippling us and keeping our people in poverty,we are smart and have the ability to do all these things. It's good to have you in South Africa sister and welcome once again.I have hit the subscribe button so i don't miss your new content.
That is true about food pricing I have always stayed in SA and I went to Mozambique we paid almost R3000 for a platter. We contributed 800 each even to date I still can't believe even now. R800 for food just one is too much

Thanks for your honest interpretations of your experiences in my country, really refreshing because the xenophobic attacks really have given not just Nigeria but the rest of the continent a bad impression of us, so having people like yourself giving a honest view is really welcomed, we want Africans to be proud of South African cities because they are African cities, for them to come and enjoy like they are at home. Next time show videos of the different racial cultures because that way you get different view points from the different racial demographics, that would be fun:)
Poverty worse in Nigeria? Says someone that most of their men in South Africa are jobless and lazy. Have u been to Nigeria before? Nigeria is the most black populated country in the world . What does that tell u? Poverty and yet the richest man in Africa is from Nigeria. Abeg u REST
@@rukevweegbaivwie6177 The richest man from Africa is Nigerian? Even if this was true, how would this change the widespread poverty and economic inequality between the haves and the havenots? Do you realise that you are actually validating my argument unknowingly? You say that Nigeria is the most populated country (overpopulation is an indicator of poverty and inequality) and that the richest African is Nigerian (= indicates huge wealth disparity between a tiny elite of mega rich corrupt individuals and the overwhelming majority of the population). How come Nigerians migrate to many foreign nations, when supposedly Nigeria is such a prosperous, equal and highly functional society?
@@esahm373 overpopulation is not an indicator of poverty and inequality. For example, America is populated does that mean it an indicator of poverty and inequality? Every populated nation has advantages and disadvantages unlike the small country that are easier to manage. U say Nigeria is poor and yet 3 Nigerians made it to Forbes this year and Nigeria have more richest men in Africa, and that is impressive for a country that u say is poor. Nigeria is poor and yet Nigerians are the most travel in Africa. If u say Nigeria travel to other countries for greener pastures I won't argue with u. Nigerian travel to other countries for so many reasons, they travel for greener pastures, work opportunities, exposure,to see the world unless you South Africans that don't even bother to leave your country to visit other countries,at least to learn about other people's culture, beliefs and traditions. Traveling is educative and Nigerians love to explore that. South Africans don't travel that is why they are so primitive. Most of your young men are so lazy and jobless and they always complaining about other Africans coming to South Africa to steal your jobs😩 An average Nigerian wants to travel, wants to explore the world and have fun. Nigerians are real hustlers. Let me ask you a question, have u been to Nigeria? Or you just judge based on what u see and read on the media? Because if I judge South Africa based on what I read on social media and watch u would be shocked.
@@rukevweegbaivwie6177 You are confusing "overpopulation" and population. Every country is populated, but Nigeria, especially the cities, are OVERpopulated. Look how many people you will find wandering around aimlessly on the streets, slums and market places of big cities like Lagos or Abuja. Whether 3 corrupt Nigerian made it to the Forbes list is irrelevant, when 90% of the population are living below the internationally accepted poverty line. Why point to 3 individuals who are rich, when 190 million Nigerians are absolutely poor? 3 vs 190 million: you do the maths! Nigeria is rank 143 in the ranking for nominal GDP per capita. Denmark, a country of less than 6 million people has a similar total GDP to your country of 200 million. Do you understand what this means? It means that 6 million Danish people are as productive as 200 million Nigerians. The GDP per capita (per one person) in Denmark is $68,000, in Nigeria it's just $2,000. So, the average person in Denmark earns 34 times (or 3400% more) than the average person in Nigeria. Yet you want to argue that Nigeria is rich, because it has 3 guys who are on the Forbes list? You could even have 20 people on the Forbes list, how does this change the fact that the majority of Nigerians will never see or access any of this elite wealth?
Exactly....South Africans don't hate Nigerians.....Most of the tensions are from Big cities like Joburg or Pretoria....but honestly Nigerians are all over South Africa.....I am from Sekhukhune in the Limpopo province & our small town is called Jane Furse....There are a lot of Nigerian people that live good lifes here & Pedi people are always friendly & welcoming to foreigners, not even a single foreigner ever experienced Xenophobia here...i do have a few Nigerian friends
I just watched your video, I noticed you didn't mention how they don't run away from upcoming vehicles. They walk majestically even when the vehicle is very close to them....Lol
I like your content. Minor corrections and this is what most people get it wrong. About 50% of South Africa's population live in urban areas. white South Africans make up to 10% of the total population, more than 80% is indigenous African. Now, about 70% of middleclass is SA is black and that means there is 3 times the number of black people living a better life in SA compare to white people. 450 000 of white people live in squatter camps( "township"). There are about 20 000 millionaires in SA, more than 60% of those millionaires are black. There reason why you see black poverty is because they are the majority, same way you wont see Asian poverty in Kenya but that does not mean Kenyans are not wealthy or don't live in the suburbs. But also, majority of the real wealth, big business ownership is still held by the 10% and again, that doesn't mean only whites are billionaires.
Imagine an Africa where South Africans and Nigerians unite. With all our resources and economic strengths, we’d achieve great things. The sky is the limit.
You talk great and reasonable but unfortunately you are in the minority section. A lot of low-life downtrodden loosers are here questioning why many Nigerians are leaving Nigeria. The reason is not far-fetched. Most Nigerians are ambitious and hard-driven. They are also extremely determined to succeed. They aren't usually satisfied to just eat and remain alive. Even in America Nigerians are the most successful immigrants. They are the most educated immigrants in the US. Yes, it is a hugely populated country saddled with a very corrupt government and some criminals so its no surprise that these bad eggs are polluting the image of this country with the most hard working people on this planet. Have you ever wondered that despite its dysfunctional government and unstable political landscape Nigeria is still the biggest economy in Africa. Contributions from Nigerians in diaspora exceed the national budget of many Africa countries so also is the Contributions from the Nigerian entertainment industries. Nowadays people all over the globe dances to Nigerian music. But loosers in Africa will only like to focus their attention on crimes committed by some Nigerians. It takes some guts to succeed in a foreign land and Nigerians have that gut. They come back home to erect magnificent buildings and established businesses. The future belongs to these entrepreneurs and not those who are sitting on their stinking ass and waiting for government hand-outs and spreading hate.
@@ogiepet this big economy claim is misguided cause it was based on purely rebasing the economy based mostly on I formal sector which South Africa does not consider in its calculation. African countries should focus on service delivery and incfrastrature and forget these stupid claims that does not help the people with anything. This hustling mentality is what makes Nigeria to import everything that it could have been creating locally. Rice which is staple is imported in tons, cooking oil. Nigeria with its large population for example produces 10th of RSA's electricity capacity. I mean people were importing pizzas from London on private jets. Ford and Nissan failed to establish factories in Nigeria due to importation of old cars from Malaysia and everywhere in Asia. I would rather we fix these issues that misguided claims of being a big economy on the continent.

Ofcourse nigerian women are cool, we happy to have them in the country. Their men, aayy there is just a lot of work they are leaving behind to change back in Nigeria
Nah we don't like them. We've had enough of them and personally I'm sick and tired of them disrespecting our South African men. They have no shame to be coming into our country and calling us white people's slaves, lazy people and all sorts of nonense when we call out their people who are harming our society. So no thanks. The women are okay, but only time will tell.
@Kfirst of all don't make your inferiority complex my problem, this isn't about being light skinned or dark skinned. I'm not a colorist, and I have never lumped anyone in anything. Majority of illegal foreigners who engage in criminal activities are men and we never desist from pointing that out. There are women who are criminals too, but it's mainly men. I don't know why you think her skin colour has anything to do with me saying Nigerian women are welcome in SA. The women are not the rapists, drug dealers or human traffickers. As long as she is here legally then she is fine. Also, it's not everyday that the women insult South Africans as much as the men arrogantly do. This is my observation.
Such an accurate assessment. I am Zimbabwean. We have also picked up on using 'shame' , shem,in sentences. Shem is like emphasising what you are saying, like 'you are beautiful shem', means that you are unbelievably beautiful, really really beautiful, wow. 'I am so tired shem'. ..... and so forth. We are just next door but there are things we will never copy. 1. Wearing short short skirts to school. 2. Getting pregnant early and outside of wedlock. That culture of theirs was further encouraging by the government giving out large payouts per month per child for single mothers.
The biggest challenge I have with this "shocked" content videos is that, why would you expect other people to be like you or countries to be like your country of origin? So do people not do their research before traveling to their destination? Why would other people's way of Life be shocking to you? Sisters, you cannot expect West Africa in Southern Africa and vice-versa despite the two regions sharing the continent. I mean even in Southern Africa, there are things being done in Angola that are not done in Namibia and it cannot be a "shock". There are also things happening in Limpopo, but cannot be easily found in KZN. Africa is vast and what should make the continent great is tolerance and understanding of each other and not assumptions and propagandist agendas. Some foreign nationals would come to South Africa and expect us to adapt to their ways, but How? More especially when you're a visitor, hence we are badmouthed in many parts of the continent because people expect their type of Africa to also be our own. How are you shocked by black South Africans doing the manial labour and whites seemingly living large? It's another sign of not having done your research about the country before coming here. Travel around there are also rich black people and poor whites. One can also choose to look at it as if those who claim to be "shocked" tend to feel superior about themselves when they are comparing themselves to black South Africans and maybe this is exactly what could be causing conflicts between South Africans and some foreign nationals. South Africa was dominated by whites for over 300 years and we only took over for almost 30 years and one is "shocked" by what they find in South Africa? It is even more seemingly of a condescending reaction because highly possible some of our visitors tend to see this as a weakness on the side of black South Africans, when it is actually a strength. Why? What happened after the few thousands of white colonisers left many of the countries on the continent during the 60s era of African states independence? Did they not rush to dominate each other along side the tribal route and what were the results? Hence the claimed "shock" when people land in our shores. I don't think that one should express his or her findings as a "shock", but as "things learned" in South Africa . The moment one expresses "shock", to me it shows limitations on their side than on those you found in their land. I cannot go to Nigeria and then start getting "shocked", nope. I would rather get there and learn how the Romans do what they do, emulate them and then go back home to express what I would have learnt. It is as if people come to other people's countries to impose their ways of Life and act "shocked" when they start to realise the differences between where they come from and where they currently are. For black South Africans to appear to being poor, it is historical and we are a country that have been doing way too well to uplift the lives of many of the previously disadvantaged fellow countrymen. Whatever we did with the tax system is even inspiring many from all over Africa. Although some take it as if we are being lazy? How when the government is taking care of their ow? The poor people of all races in South Africa are well catered for. The challenge I have here is that people see it as an opportunity to mock the black South Africans when they are the ones who have left their own countries due to poverty and many other social or political challenges. More so those who came here looking for the same opportunities that South Africans are also looking for. For our own information, most restaurants and some hospitality setups would prefer to hire more foreign nationals for cheap labour than our black SOUTH Africans. Hence we refuse to being taken back to the days of exploitation and some of us see this as a reversal of our long fought victory against being exploited. It is more painful and infuriating when it is done by those who claim to being our brothers and sisters. If our black SOUTH Africans were that poor and desperate, why are they not emigrating to your countries? Why are they still hopefull in the very country of their birth and always ready to tackle anything unfair against them? They have even allowed and welcomed many from the continent with warm arms. Ooh wait!? Until people started to take them for granted and bringing the bad legacies of their countries to South Africa. It is then that, SOUTH Africans stood up tall, especially after many attempts to call upon government to assist, which after they were ignored, they started to protect themselves. The results became what many are still attempting to this day, "misunderstood manipulations". We are manipulated in many ways to not express our dissatisfaction with the bad things that some foreign nationals are doing in our country. We would never agree to a mess even if one is fellow South African, African or black. People should respect our ways of Life and stop trying to colonise us. We fought colonialism and apartheid harder and no one should start that nonsense again, especially those who claim to have freed us🤦. Why free people and then try to impose your ways to them? That white South Africans dominating the economy could only be natural as we dared to start up our own and not fight over what they had, back in 1994. Today, there is no African country with a more number of dollar millionaires than in our country. Is this not an achievement by the people who began their freedom with nothing? Some are claiming that they are more South African than our fellow White, Indian, and Coloured South Africans just because they are African or black. This is way too petty to say the least. Why try to impose your ways in our country? Why attempt to colonies us when we have already had worse for over 300 years? The term "South African" refers to every South African, black or white, but it is also often used to seem to describe only the black people of this country. This is so so wrong. I still wonder why people would act "shocked" and some trying hard to make us like what they like or to change us to be suitable to them. We do things our own ways as South Africans of all race, colour and creed and all what our visitors need to do is to accept us and our ways, then respect our preferences and choices. Why? Because that's what makes us who we are, South Africans. Why is this difficult for anyone? Unless we are expected to adhere to the ways of those who come to visit us. We cannot take the ways of others in our own background and many must desist from undermining our ways and trying to bring their ways, our way. Respect us and the laws of our land as we would do your own, then there will be no issues. The best way to learn in a foreign land is to adapt. Egoists and the narcissists will always face challenges in the adopted land. Egypt cannot be Zimbabwe and vice-versa, the best solution is coexistence, tolerance and respect. Hence in Mzansi, we learn each other's languages depending on where one is based. Even some whites, Indians and Coloured speak more than one language and have adapted well with the dominant groups. The beauty of coexistence right there.
Hi Sister, is my first time in your channel n I believe if we can have Nigerians like you in South Africa a think call NIGERIAN HATES won't exist. We wish to have Nigerians would will come here as visitors or settlers n not criminals. I believe some how things that make us hate Nigerians you r some how experiencing or u will experience in future. But I know Nigerians r good n beautiful people worse women cos most Nigerian women in South Africa don't evolve in crimes, in fact they r d only who can denounced bad things dat done by their brothers but as for men they always protect themselves no matter what.
Thanks for watching my video and you’re welcome to my channel. There may be bad Nigerians but there are a lot of good Nigerians here. We will continue to foster love between us, and change all the negative narratives.
@@sharonokorie but if even yourself u can acknowledge that there's bad n god Nigerians in South Africa, then why u not helping us to remove all those bad ones cos when we doing by ourselves u r quick to call us XENOPHOBIC.
@@sharonokorie Yes there are a lot of good Nigerians here but unfortunately the bad ones are even more they outnumber the good ones. What is unfortunate most Nigerians are in denial that their fellow brothers mostly are criminals. Recently it was so disappointing to hear the high commissioner of Nigeria in South Africa saying it's only here and there that Nigerians are. involved in crimes when asked if he knew how many Nigerians are in this country illegally he couldn't answer instead he wanted to tell us about MTN in Nigeria. MTN is a registered company that pays taxes and employs Nigerians there but most here they run illegal businesses most of them fronts for drug pushing so instead of contributing positively they are destroying our children by kidnapping them and forcing them into drugs.
When you listen to alot of victims of crimes by South Africans mostly Nigerians are involves... That's where the "hate" comes from... We hate whole hearty the crime
Yet as a South African woman you are most likely to die in the hands of a south African man than a foreigner. Do you hate the rape and gbv culture? Let's not talk about robbery with violence coz you lead in all three in Africa. You are just the least aggressive people always looking for an excuse to hate other hardworking Africans. During xenophobia do you attack criminals or legit African business? Are there white criminals and have you ever laid a hand on them...no!!!
@@lindsieodhiambo4669 and yet when it comes to Human trafficking crimes in South Africa, Nigerians are mostly involved. Allow a South African to accept what they don't like about other African nationalities especially if it's crime. We don't hate Nigerians, we hate some behavior that they get involved in which even u know exists. Some Nigerians in the country are good people. But the rest who have been heavily involved on crimes like human trafficking we will call out that nagetivity. Comparing Nigerian crime in South Africa to crime committed by South Africans doesn't help in this regard. Let Nigerians Co.e to South Africa peacefully, either for education, work or whatever but the scams and everything else that we hate should stay out of South Africa
@@justb1761 so how do you look at a person with a shop on the street and decide he is a human trafficker? That narrative has never been justifiable, don't you have police and the judiciary? What's their job if not to arrest and convict criminals. White people own tracks of your land, why don't you fight them too?
@@lindsieodhiambo4669 my comment was based on Human trafficking and how many Nigerian living in South Africa are evidently responsible for those crimes. Stop beating about the Bush. Yes its wrong for some South Africans to get involved in zenophobic attacks which is what i think u are trying to clarify here (attack innocent Nigerians on the streets) . And again dear, it's wrong for some Nigerians to come to South Africa solely for the pursuit of crimes like human trafficking and a lot of this scamming business that they do. That's Nigerians not respecting South Africans laws and that pisses South Africans off and rightfully so. U can't come from your own country with some crimes that will further corrupt and endanger people of another country. That's plain wrong. Am I saying they should attack, no, it's completely unethical and inhuman to do that. That being sad if u choose to ignore that most human trafficking crimes are linked to Nigerian nationalities living in South Africa, the ubare also being in denial. Why can't they stay out of South Africa with those type of crimes. Our society is already corrupt to some extent, with a lot of crime, South Africans do not appreciate Nigerians infesting the country with such crimes and that's a fact.
Respectful, kind and fair people attract the same from people around them. Chances are people will be nice to good people wherever you go. Of cause there are always exceptions to the rules everywhere too. You seem like a nice person to be around.
I am South African and I can tell you that we South Africans don't hate people from other countries, the only thing we hate is the behaviour and not respecting the laws and culture of our country

Whrn we are fed up we fight and clean out neighborhoods.

don't lie. south Africa there lot of hate foreign people 😡😡😡
I will admit that we do have a teenage pregnancy problem, either than that, the single parent household and kids being raised by grandparents stems from the apartheid system when families would be separated.
I never thought of this. Thank you for this very insightful comment. Really learning a lot from the comments

I really love the way they're so funny and able to light up your day 🤗🤗🤗
Thanks for watching.. I agree that crime should never be condoned no matter the country.

Hahaha 😂😂😂, I really love your comment. Some of our cultures are really different 😂

WOW WOW, Very good my Laddy we appreciate what you are doing as South Africans. We really need such communications and dialogs to each other. I wish had such trips to all African countries. We have so much we can share and learn from each toher as Africans❤ well done my sister.

I love your comment so much. Nice one Ernest
@@sharonokorie it's my pleasure Sharon 😊👍
@K Naive and ridiculous is your African culture which is at war with itself. In South Africa for example, locals attacking other African migrants through xenophobic hatred. So, yes I identify better with Black Canadians than your ridiculous, melancholic African culture!
@K You need to free yourself from tribalism and ethnicity before you can fully comprehend the tribal-free comment above.
You are doing so well, Sharon!
I bet I have heard so many South African Languages in their movies. looks like it is a lot of fun there
Thanks so much dear. And yes. It’s a nice place
@@sharonokorie absolutely challenges are drawing us back because we know where we should be. There's nothing humbling than seeing someone not from the country who comes into the country with willingness to respect, adjust and embrace the host country. Who have the same vision to grow and progress positively to a proper pan africanism

Well done Sisi for this video. It provides some clear understanding on South Africans who are really misunderstood across Africa. Many consider them as xenophobes and aggressive towards other Africans which is stupid really. Anyway, bravo!
It's the media, they've painted us badly in other countries as xenophobic and even started using fake videos to prove their lies

I feel South Africa as a country, we're still trying to move from racism and decrimination in terms of that because we're just moving from Aparteid which happened not so long ago but I feel like in due time all the anger and everything will surface down to a lower level but I can agree it is sad to see
I agree that with time, things will be balanced

Thanks for your honest interpretations of your experiences in my country, really refreshing because the xenophobic attacks really have given not just Nigeria but the rest of the continent a bad impression of us, so having people like yourself giving a honest view is really welcomed, we want Africans to be proud of South African cities because they are African cities, for them to come and enjoy like they are at home. Next time show videos of the different racial cultures because that way you get different view points from the different racial demographics, that would be fun:)
Okay.. I like your ideas
Damn u so gorgeous!😂
Love from SA🇿🇦 🇳🇬
Inequality and poverty is even worse in Nigeria, just without the racial aspect. In Nigeria its strictly classism and nepotism.
@@esahm373 I bet you haven't left south All your life . I know you haven't even visitted Togo or Ghana 😩 No offence tho.

New subbie 💕
Lol, I’m on my 3rd video now, really enjoying your channel.
Hey pretty!!.. thank you❤️❤️❤️
Imagine an Africa where South Africans and Nigerians unite. With all our resources and economic strengths, we’d achieve great things. The sky is the limit.
You’re right
You talk great and reasonable but unfortunately you are in the minority section.

And again dear, it's wrong for some Nigerians to come to South Africa solely for the pursuit of crimes like human trafficking and a lot of this scamming business that they do. That's Nigerians not respecting South Africans laws and that pisses South Africans off and rightfully so.
