thanks so much!! been looking for a video on this for so long!
Yay! So glad you found it! Hope it helps☺️🙏✨
Informative vid . Cheers from CAMCURSE
More people need to know automation sounds much better than squashing with a plugin compressor. Great advice and great video.
Never tried that parallel compression trick. Next time I need to work my voice into a track I hope I remember to give it a go!
Yes! Automation is often overlooked but honestly pretty much the standard if you’ve ever worked on a board and or cut to tape. For me I often automate my sends so that I can hit different effects in different ways. It’s honestly endless all the parameters you can automate! Hope the trick helps!☺️🙏
Thx u ❤
Glad you liked it☺️
Good stuff thanks alot!
So glad! Hope it helps☺️🙏
Thanks a lot. Interesting and helpful, but I’m not firm in side chaining and automation so far. Can you recommend a video that explains side chaining for a beginner concerning vocals?
Hey! Thanks for the comment! Here’s a video we did on side chaining. Hope this helps 🙏 ua-cam.com/video/wVhLyeaywkU/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
A good mic preamp also helps
Totally! I was focusing on easy fixes sometimes people have a given interface and getting a good mic pre can be a little out of reach. But of course if you want your sound to shine you need to get it captured the best👌
Rings true. I went from a UA Apollo to MT48 and it was much easier to get my voice overs to cut through without sounding artificial and boosted from pushing the high end too far.
@@MarkVO $1,800 for a two preamp interface? Ouch.
Do you think it’s ever necessary to record unisons to fatten up (and widen) the sound? Or can you get the same effect with creative mixing?
Hey! I put a video I think you might find helpful for how I get the best main take! If you’re interested there’s a part 2 in the playlist. The reality is I find when you have more to work with you have more to work with but there are inventive ways to save a thin vocal if you can’t record doubles.
Let me know if that helps!🙏

@@RecordingArtsCanada Thanks for the link! I was afraid that there wasn't a work around, but I thought I'd ask. But to be fair, once I start recording vocals I get into a rhythm and it doesn't seem like the bother that it would be. The thought of recording 5 layers of vocals sounds like more of a grind than it is.
I'll probably leave replies on the videos also (engagement and all), but I just wanted to respond here and thank you for the ideas. I was doing layers already, but I never thought of using different textures and octaves as well. It's very cool to play around in that way. 👍🏾
Can you show it while explaining 😭🙏
I know!! I hear you! Working with trying to get all the info out with a limited amount of time is rough. Promise I’ll do some good demo videos soon😅🙏
oh yes my vocals arent cutting... iv been a very veeery BAD mixing engineer lately.. tell me more...
