  • Black 12v motors sell for around $50. Red motors sell for three times that. In this video I explain why red motors have gained a reputation as one of the most expensive Lego pieces. I hope you learn something new!

Very interesting video. I think that the 7727 also had a very short production period, probably because it didn't sell that well as you said.
I'm glad to own two of them, one that came with my 7727 (boxed, felling lucky here) and that runs like a charm, and one with my 7730 that I saved by sacrificing a black motor and thanks to your very useful tutorials ! (Thanks again by the way 🙂).

Thanks for the comment! Yes, 7727 did have a short production run and didn't sell well. Glad you were able to repair your red motor with my video!

I still have a red defective motor from 7730, I have a replacement motor would not be a problem either. My problem is that I do not open the motor without damage and when the motor is open, do you glue the cover back on?

Yes you should glue the housing back together. In my motor repair videos I explain how to open motors without causing too much damage, I would highly recommend watching them, they also have many other tips!

I actually saved my red motor thanks to the tutorials from Reker. Opening the case is probably the most tricky part, but it is worth trying !
