D9 PRO/ D9S PRO possibly? Depends on your spending capacity. But a bit more $$$ will give you a Snap-On though… It’s like Prius vs Tesla… illusion of choice…

I just wanted to let you know that I have a D8BT and I had to go to the dealer to get the PIN code on my 06 Dodge Caravan. As long as you have it registered in your name, they will give you the PIN code for free. But the my x tool D8BT did not retrieve the PIN code for me, but after I received the PIN code from the Dodge dealer, my Xtool was able to program the key for me that I had made from a locksmith, although anyway I am happy with my x tool scanner
I think it’s pretty common knowledge that some tools have IMMO functions and some don’t. Aka my $500 IM508 Autel can pull the pin# off of most Chrysler products. This is because it is an actual IMMO tool. Pretty crazy how these aftermarket tools can do this seeing as the OEM tool (Witech) can not.
I've had this XTool D8 for about 2 years. It has served me very well and it pulls pin codes. I'm looking to upgrade to a tool that can work on Toyota Hybrids and do the SPS function on GM vehicles. I don't know where to turn for good advice. It's time for me to step up my diagnostic arsenal.

on my Launch you get the pin and pass code from the Security no the key programing and it does and will retrieve the pin and pass code its juts in a different section than the Xtool
This is weird, a friend of mine which is very much into these things said any of those tools normally requires an external device attached to read the PIN code. Are you able to do this on 2023/2024 cars?

Some of these tools has so many extra little things between each model that is hard to make a informed purchase when buying and for just a extra $50… Then there is always something better the next step up would do, but you are unaware what that extra $100 gives you.

tested the x100 max on multiple audis with little or no functionally nor could i get anything from a 02 saturn. i gave up and amd returning it. for the eeprom reader side i didnt even bother testing it once i came to the conclusion the xtools lied to me about what it could do. im not paying 1200 for a glorified eeprom tool that 1 30 dollar tool can do.

Those are dedicated key programmers, not dedicated scan tools. I would expect both of them will program keys with no problem. The Xtool is a dedicated scan tool with great key programming capabilities.

While it sure would be convenient to retrieve the PIN on Chrysler vehicles, it's not a big deal to get the PIN from. The dealer. Just need to have the customer go to the service counter, provide proof of ownership, and they will give them the PIN.

You know nastf is fighting to take that away. And most tools, even the few thousands ones, will be useless to pull pin codes to add a key or even replace any part that requires pin codes like a bcm replacement when this new rule, yes, it's a rule, not a law takes effect. That means all working people will have to make their own business apply for a 1 million dollar insurance and agree to a background check, which I agree with a background check and proof you are legit but now having to build my own firm and get insurance that's an extra cost which would past to customers and the cost of repairs are high as it is. Please do a video of tools not participating in that nastf and tool manufacturers that are not participating could easily charge extra and do a background check to use the immo side of the tool, easier access and still have the same security as nastf but without the hassle of building your firm getting a 1 million dollar insurance and so forth. @metapeutic Here is an update for you. Autel just announced that their immobilizer tools will no longer support all keys lost for toyota vehicles. And xtool lost their canfd rights to add keys to new gm vehicles and can't calculate pin codes for toyota without oe software. So, as new tools are coming out with coverage for these vehicles, others are losing their rights. And soon it will turn again. They are all pushing for oe software and no more aftermarket tools. Obdstar and xhorse seem to be next on the list for losing some coverage also, I believe.
All them special functions don’t work on different cars. I bought a xTool d7 ended up selling it because very limited to what I could do all them special functions. Let say you want to do a brake job well go into special functions and it won’t work on a lot of cars don’t be fooled by this video I say it again I was very disappointed.I ended up doing a lot of research so I went for the Autel 906ts pro a bit pricey but you pay for what you get.Now it’s 600 a year to update mine but I’m so happy with it. I can't comment on the D7 since I have never owned one but the D8BT special functions have all worked for me on lots of different cars except for 2 things that xtool fixed. I have had a Autel MS906TS for probably 8 years now and it has had its share of issues that had to be fixed with updates. My go to scan tool for the past 2 years has been my D8BT. If you are talking about the special function button that list the 36 or so special functions you need to realize those are year, make, and model specific. Meaning that if your car does not have electronic parking brake you can't expect the electronic parking brake special function to retract the calipers. What year make and model did you have problems with?

In the near future you’ll wake up, go to program a car key in and you’ll be presented with a screen that asks you to input your vsp credentials. Legit business, have insurance l? Then you won’t have any problems getting the background check done as long as you don’t have a criminal history with recent felonies. Watch the 2 hr video called navigating the future of automotive locksmithing and you’ll probably wait to buy a tool for awhile.
You are probably correct, It sucks we don't live in a free country and so many companies feel the need to control the masses unless of course, you want to pay money then you can play the game. It's all about the money.

Best thing for sps programming on the cheap is a mongoose cable from Drew tech and make an account on acdelco to flash modules.

It does have a browser but yea the lack of autoauth could be an issue if you work on or own a 2018 chrysler.
To be fair you must use im series on Autel
That wouldn't be fair because the IM series is a dedicated key programmer.
The Autel im series also does Diagnostics, not just key programming
