He's not a welder but did an amazing job welding!!! Hats off to you Sir!!
Awesome job! My D3 Suspension pan kit shipped out today. Your video should help me resurrect my '70 Targa!
I’m amazed at the courage it took to weld so many critical parts of the chassis without experience. Hats off to you. My 1970 needs similar work!
Thank you, it’s was either I do it or I get rid of the car. I had no other choice.
Dude. This is amazing content. Keep making stuff!!!
Thank you for these videos. I am embarking on a similar project (‘67 912 coupe) with the same rust issues. This has tremendously helped me out!
I’m glad to hear this ! If you have any more questions don’t hesitate to reach out again. Good luck
Haha. Subscribed immediately after that music intro and as a fellow 912 owner (and hopefully an Alfa GTV owner one day)
Awesome job , and you have my sons name !!!!! Spot weld cutter bit and cavity sealer for next time , will help ..
These are great videos. Thank you
Great work!
Great Work!! I saw you used glue? over the welds. What is it? Is that the 3M stuff that is used for joints?
It’s a steam sealer that I got from eastwood, I brush it on my welds to give it rust protection.
How many hours did this take. Without putting tank and bumpers back on?
In hours I’m not sure exactly, probably 40-60 hours. It took me a month plus, I’m usually working a few hours during the week and if I have a weekend the whole weekend.
Great work. How did you maintain the torsion hole mounting point measurements it’s been a while since putting a pan in. I do recall the pans had a little play up down left right. Not having a bench Celette or car-o-liner you seemed to have aligned it fine I got to install one in mine. With no bench available
I was fortunate that the suspension controls could be bolted to the chassis. That location was not damaged so I figured if I just bolt the pan to the suspension that is being held in place on the chassis, that the pan would be suspended in the right spot. Thus, I could start bending and taking the car to the pan and be pretty confident that everything is in the right spot.
@@ilias8010 yeah makes perfect sense Thanks
Awesome job! I need to do this to my 66’ and just bought a mig welder. Did you use the control arms as the guide for the pan? Did you bolt them up onto the pan, make everything fit around the parameter, and then weld while still bolted up?
Yes, so I bolted the pan to the control arm assembly and then bolted that to the car. This kept everything straight, then I could form it all together.
Easy money
Hey, have you seen the K997 project?
May be it's OK for engine conversion.
No I have not see the K997 project.
