- Join ERV as we wind back the clock one year to the holiday season of 2021. The Steam Railroad Institute of Owosso, MI is hosting their annual North Pole Express excursions between Owosso and Ashley, with their famed steam locomotive Pere Marquette no. 1225 on the head end. The big N-1 Berkshire looks resplendent as she sprints across the Michigan farmland pulling her trainloads of happy passengers to the North Pole.

This video is a compilation of clips from chasing the train on different days. On the last day, snow from a recent storm blanketed the landscape, adding even more Christmas charm. This, combined with 1225's recently painted driver tires and smokebox-mounted wreath, made for a perfect close to the excursion season.

As always, I hope you enjoy! Stay tuned for more videos in the future. Happy Holidays! -ERV

@@ThunderboltSirenStudios I see. Hold this please. (Picks up clipboard) Is this you?
@@loganwright7554 yeah
I went to the real polar express. Yeah, no wheels.
I’m not a big fan of that stuff but it’s a good idea
He go
12:12 is that Norfolk and Western 2-6-6-4 Class A #1218's 3 Chime Hooter whistle?
Its actually a C&O Railway hooter whistle. It belongs to one of SRI's head staff
Awesome Film. I subscribed
Thank You!
😊
I just thought of something; if this is the real Polar Express, they should repaint the train cars to look like the ones in the movie
They used to paint 1225 with Polar Express on the side. Can’t anymore. Copyrights from the movie. Too expensive.
Why did she just stop halfway through the trip?
I wonder if a future steam gathering in Owosso, Michigan with 1225, 611 and 765 at the SRI is possible one day?
