- Today my Dad & I chased locomotive 1225 to Ashley for the first time in two years & it was great seeing my favorite locomotive back in service.
Glad to see 1225 back. Hopefully with the rebuilt running gear, SRI can use her much more til she’s due for her rebuild at the end of 2028.
I agree
Me too
Beaultiful to see again! definitely one of my favorite steam locomotives
That whistle is still just as beautiful and awesome as it’s always been
Awesome David! It's good to see the big berk back under steam!
I agree!
@@mrtrainmaster8007Same.
Great video, thanks, I have been watching the live railcam at Owosso but unfortunately their camera is mounted in a spot where you can't ever get a good look at the engine, that defeats the purpose of it, I suggested they move it but they don't seem to get it, we are steam locomotive enthusiast- not passenger car enthusiast, oh well , thanks for giving us a real view of the locomotive 🙏👍💎
I can’t wait to see her! My favorite locomotive!
It’s my favorite locomotive too!
Just found your channel, great video!
Thanks!
Great to see her back I’m also very happy that they didn’t convert her to oil u though I had heard thstvsomewhere but I’m glad it’s not true. Thank you fir sharing.
The oil conversion was the lubrication method for the driver brasses, not the firing.
@@bobt.-hx5yq aww git yiu thank you fir clearing that up.
Beautiful see PM 1225 again.
Yes indeed!
Great video, I was there that day.
Thanks!
It was a blast today. I was able to get both audio and video clips of the trip today.
Cool!
Not to mention the new coat of jet black paint!
SHE’S BACK!! YAS!!!!! MY FAVORITE TRAIN IS BACK!!!
I love your videos! Great filming :)
Thanks Abby?
This would be nice if the FRA 1572 inspection is only what has it been inspected already. But anyways, great coverage of the event! I unfortunately won’t be up there this year, but I’m looking to see it next year
Pere Marquette #1225 moving under her own steam for the first time since mechanical repair work. WB Pere Marquette #1225. We chase her as she makes her maiden run for North Pole Express 2023.
Thanks for the video. Was waiting years to take the kids. Was worth the wait. You can barely see us on the right twice. We were in the shot backing up and stopped.
While the 1225 was parked in Ashley?
@@mrtrainmaster8007 yes
Thank you for the great video …What an awesome locomotive …
You’re welcome!
The North Pole Express just didn't feel right dieselized.
@@Slipperyisimproving I agree with you.
It still sold out.
1225 looks beauty
Awesome video man! I didn't know you were trackside to see 1225. I chased her throughout the day. I would've said hi if I saw you. Oh well 😄
Nicely done ❤
Thanks!
They did a great job on taking care of this old girl, looking just as beautiful as the day she was built back in 1941
I was thinking the same thing.
Welcome back, 1225, aka the Polar Express!
Now, since 1225 is out of the shop for awhile, perhaps we can get ex- GTW 5632 in there for either a cosmetic or total re-build. (Oh, and anybody our there have 1-2 M they're not using?)
C&NW #175 is next up.
Where's that third spot that you took video from? Very nice video!!
Bannister.
Whistle could use some tuning. But congratulations for 1225 to be returning to steam again
they had to fix the whistle its strong sounding
Amazing video dude!
Thank you!
Np!
Someone needs to take a 30-30 to those shitty e-bells at the crossings. Engine looks and sounds absolutely fantastic! What whistle is that? 5 or 6 chime?
Cool video
Thanks!
This will make the 15 year inspection SO much simpler later on!

@@bobt.-hx5yq thanks, I'll check it out!
And plus her chuffing sounds different all those years she was skipping her chuffing
I believe the valve timing was adjusted when SRI was re-assembling her valve gear towards the end of the running gear overhaul. That allowed for her exhaust to have a more steady "on beat" chuff vs. how it sounded before
4:42 why does she have 3 cabooses behind her tender and before the cars?
They have been setting the train up that way since 2015.
Well that was a short restoration!
It was actually down for a running gear overhaul.
@@mrtrainmaster8007 yes indeed.
Hope 765 reunites with 1225 and 611.
That would be impressive.
@@mrtrainmaster8007 yes it would
That's a nice thought, but even better would a reunion of #1225, #765 and #2716!
@@kristoffermangila I’ve been imagining a triple header with Pere Marquette 1225 Nickel Plate Road 765 & Milwaukee Road 261.
@@mrtrainmaster8007 that's a good one, but I like the all-Berkshire tripleheader (#1225, #2716 and #765) better, for several reasons. One is that all three were built by Lima, and all three were designed and operated by the railroads associated with the Van Sweringen brothers of Cleveland.
Also at 5:45 what address is that street? I like that spot a lot
East Brownell Street.
@@mrtrainmaster8007 Ty
How come 1225 hasn't ran in awhile?
It was undergoing a running gear overhaul.
@@mrtrainmaster8007 is she gonna be running more often bcuz of it?
@@thefemboyfamilyvlogs8837 Hopefully.
