    Today we are going to make a Golden Milk Turmeric Recipe (Vegan) for Sleep. Golden Milk is a warm drink that you can drink before bed to help you sleep.
    How does Golden Milk help you sleep:
    At its base, turmeric reduces inflammation, lowers your blood sugar levels, helps your liver to detoxify, boosts your immune system and eases your digestive system - all of which help you to get to sleep faster, to sleep better, and to wake up feeling refreshed. Turmeric reduces inflammation and ease your digestive system, helping you get to sleep faster.
    Nutmeg is a popular spice with a long list of health benefits, including help with insomnia, thanks to its mild sedative properties.
    Cinnamon is spicy, yet soothing. It can calm the mind as well as an upset stomach

    Golden Milk Turmeric Recipe (Vegan Option) for Sleep
    1 cup of nondairy milk (almond milk or coconut milk)
    1/4 tsp cinnamon
    1 inch piece of turmeric thinly sliced or 1/2 tsp of turmeric
    Sweetener (maple syrup, honey, agave, or stevia)
    (I’m used Lucuma Powder is made from whole Peruvian lucuma fruit that has been dried at low temperatures and milled into a fine powder. This low-glycemic sweetener contains many nutrients including beta-carotene, iron, zinc, vitamin B3, calcium and protein.)
    1 tbsp of coconut oil
    1/4 tsp of white peppercorns
    1/4 tsp of ground cardamom
    1/4 tsp of nutmeg
    Directions: Mix all the ingredients together in a saucepan over low heat until it reaches your desired temperature. Then pour the ingredients into a blender, blend and pour into your favourite mug and enjoy :)

    This is great! I use almond milk too as I have a family history of Cancer so need to avoid the estrogen and IGF-1 in dairy. Thanks a lot for sharing

    also enjoy as a breakfast drink to help start the day calm and when your digestion needs a break from a regular meal. I find it doesn't induce sleep but is soothing.

    I absolutely love this...I've been having a cup every night before bed and it is such a nice way to end the day and prepare for sleep, and making it is a beautiful little ritual.

    This is fantastic. The other recipe is use is a bit different. This seems quite nice. Didn’t have trouble sleeping before; was always out like a light instantly anywhere. There have been so many sleep disturbances though, and schedule upheavals: Totally messes up the body clock. Thanks for tasty recipe.

    Such wonderful herbs and spices.... transported in plastic. I think after drinking this I would fall asleep but then have to get up to empty my bladder before morning. But even after all that sarcasm, I can't wait to try the recipe. Thumbs up 243

    Take care when handling turmeric as it stains. In fact another of its uses is clothing die.

    To my surprise I had most ingredients and made this last night and tonight. I did indeed sleep well. I have not been sleeping good for several weeks. . Only thing I had a terrible nightmare just one. I don’t know if it was because I went into a deeper sleep that I dreamed but even with that it was well worth it

    I am a bit worried. I am a vegetarian and eat everything healthy. I just had a check up and my triglycerides are 600. I have no idea why. Do you have any sugestions???????thanks....MINDY

      you have a good question but you really need to talk to your doctor for a proper suggestion as there are many variables :)

      Mindy De Britos I was able to lower my triglycerides by reducing consumption of wheat bread and introducing gluten free bread, oatmeal, etc....in my diet. I decreased use of sugar and cut back eating sweets and desserts. The book Dr William Davis MD Wheat Belly. I also exercise regularly. My numbers improved and I decreased to 150 so I do not have to take medication.

      My triglycerides was 390 and it came to 190 in 6 Months , Switch to Qunioa and Add Avacodoes to your diet + Add handful of Pecan or Walnut everyday as an evening snack and do work out for 30 Mins Cardio atleast 4 times a week and see how they help

    The only real milk is mammals milk, all others are extracts. Almond "milk" is Almond juice, concentrate, extract, etc. but it's not milk.
