A lot of people in the same boat Bro. And even worse off. I live in Lake Arrowhead in Southern California and I just spent 14 days snowed in before a plow came down my road. I have lived in Mammoth, and Lake Tahoe. This is CRAZY for this place. Good luck and God bless. 👍
I appreciate your excellent videos, they give all of us an insight into what it really takes to survive something like these storms. Try not to cringe too much over the tail ight, you must be weary. It's minor considering how much hard effort you've put into keep your garage, deck and roof and house in safe condition. Stay strong 💪
I hear fatigue in your voice. You've got to be exhausted. I did the snow game in Mammoth for 9 years long ago. Last was 82-83. 553 inches that year total. Brings back bad memories. Blew my back up shoveling all that snow. Never been right since.Go as easy as you can. Glad you have good equipment. Makes a big difference. Stay safe. Summer has to come at some point. Thanks for the videos. Now people believe my snow stories.
That dent is a memory in the story of your truck. It will be the epic snowstorm dent. Pop it out enough to get the light to seal and call it good. I have a crease in my tailgate from backing into a gate at my daughter's farm. It buffed good enough and it always reminds me of that week at her place.
When you pull the old taillight out you should have access to push that dent out, a deflated soccer ball in through the taillight hole, and then inflate it in there and it should pop enough of that dent to get a new taillight to fit! Thanks for another great vid! Hang in there
I've been watching the play by play of these mountainous blizzards. After this is said and done, you'll need to take that snow blower out to dinner. 😆 These videos are definitely a PSA to anyone wanting to move to the mountains. Because it takes a special breed of people to live there. Stay safe. Much love and hugs for your family from Decatur, Illinois.
Just a dinner? Take it to Tahiti, to one of those romantic little shacks on a dock out in the lagoon. Have a native girl give it a massage and an oil change. Let it bask in the warmth of the tropical sun, and gaze up in the languid tropical air at night, watching the Milky Way spin by.
Amazing your able to keep a level head (on camera) during this "mother" of a storm. Praying you stay safe and that roof holds that snow at bay. Thanks for posting and I'll keep you and the rest of Mammoth in my thoughts.
I do enjoy your homegrown videos of life in Mammoth and the Eastern Sierra. I've seen others. I've only subscribe to yours. You do a very good down-to-earth job. I've been skiing for about 53 years. Back when I started, it used to snow like this up in Mammoth all the time. Driving up from Bishop was like going up a toboggan run. When a big snow dumped, very common for people not to see their cars till spring and they were pancaked when the snow thawed. Been sending this video out to other friends of mine who used to do ski patrol at Snow Summit. Nice visuals on your video & perspective of height and depth.

I’m just a retired geezer from the flatland midwest. Just checked my photo files and it was April 26, 2016, on a CA trip down 395 I pulled into Mammoth to look around. I skied MN hills when I was younger but not really my thing. I did buy a lift ticket and took a joy ride to top of the mountain and had a good look around. I’m flabbergasted to see all this snow!
I am seriously sorry for all your troubles. The truck should be easily fixable but that doesn't make it much less frustrating. I would be, and I am sure you are, concerned about the thaw happening too fast and causing even more disastrous flooding. Thank you for documenting this round of winter weather.
Looks pretty. I can't even imagine how tough it is to live in place during the epic storms that you have received. No place to put the snow that gets moved seems to be the real culprit. I hope to see your grass one day and the rest of the street without all the berms. Give Rin some love from us.
I was a kid in the early '50s living at the Hot Creek Fish Hatchery one winter when there was serious snow that closed 395. We could walk over the garage, but that's a bit lower in elevation than where you are. Maybe the Tuesday snow will be the last, and the melt will kick in. In any event, when it does start to melt I hope you continue to post so we can watch it all go away. It may be late April or May, but it'll happen. Hang in there!

So sorry about the dent! Being from Hawai'i, I always dreamed of living in the mountains, but my family and I moved to the banana belt of the Sierra Nevada in Plumas County. That's as much Sierra Nevada as I can handle. Best wishes with the rest of these storms - I love your dog walks.

That feeling of accomplishment when you clear those berms. But then they are all dashed when--minutes later-- the heavy equipment comes in and clears it in a few minutes! If you had only waited! (In my case, in the Village that I live, it usually means that they plow me back in when the plow goes down the street again just as I clean mine)!
Unbelievable what you guys are dealing with, a 'sister channel' of yours which I follow up there calls the snow, sierra cement. Glad you are having a 'just dealing with it' attitude, some of your neighbors are not 😉.. You are awesome keeping the world updated..
Sorry that your truck was damaged, but a good paintless dent repair (PDR) guy can make it like new again. Hope tomorrow is a better day. Be careful and stay safe.
As I said in the previous video, your berms are nature's K-rails. Suggest dynamite... Nice how AFTER you clear the berm the skid steer comes along to "cleanup" the driveway!
Amazing what you are going through! Stay strong! Suggestion: install a timelapse camera somewhere on the neighboring pine to see how you and the community on your street battle the snow through the days/weeks, how snow would melt into Spring... Video should be spectacular! Is this something you can do?
I’ve been playing with the time lapse with the go pro but the battery life is horrible. I can’t believe go pro would make a bullet proof camera meant for adventures with a battery that doest last more then 40 minutes

Had to deal with that everytime my street was plowed. If you're lucky the guy operating the bulldozer will dig out the driveway entranc ❤️e wall of ice lol When there's been a ton of snow they usually can't BC they're in a rush. The wall at the end of the drive way is basically ice like you showed, I had to use steel shovels and just throw the larger chunks by hand. A couple weeks we can watch the good ole California Mud Slides!!!!😂
Are we having fun yet? I admire your fortitude! Take care from Pennsylvania and thanks for these entertaining videos!
Fellow Pennsylvanian myself ! Born and raised in Philadelphia. Thanks for watching !
@@LifeintheEasternSierra I thought you sounded like you could be from here! I’m in south central PA an hour south of Harrisburg. It’s funny we’ve had a practically snowless winter here. Keep your chin up out there. 🙏. I know there’s some pretty rough corners in your neighborhood (poor truck) but Spring is right around one…
Appreciate your love for Hondas, they really are tough
Keep Everlastingly at it. Success will be yours !
Happened today! Cleared the driveway after a few inches of snow then literally as I turned the blower off the town plow can by and bermed me in 🤦🏻♂️😂
Prayers for everyone downstream when the rain starts.
Unbelievable what you guys are dealing with, a 'sister channel' of yours which I follow up there calls the snow, sierra cement. Glad you are having a 'just dealing with it' attitude, some of your neighbors are not 😉.. You are awesome keeping the world updated..
Simply insane. I feel for you.... Good luck
The "Berm-Buster" !
I Love it !
Flavor of the month...Sierra Slurpee
That’s a piece of pie in the sky praying you’ll do well and the snow will stop and melt slowly
Can we use vegetable oil as a lubrication media on our snowblower chute and augers ?
Thank you for sharing this video with us. Sorry about your truck but accidents happen. Be safe and take care of yourself.
Crazy stuff brother be safe be well
Sorry that your truck was damaged, but a good paintless dent repair (PDR) guy can make it like new again. Hope tomorrow is a better day. Be careful and stay safe.
As I said in the previous video, your berms are nature's K-rails. Suggest dynamite...
Nice how AFTER you clear the berm the skid steer comes along to "cleanup" the driveway!
It looks like Alaska. I’ve never been that way it sure is pretty though.
I’m so sorry about your truck 😞
Alaska doesn't get nearly as much snow. The big difference is interior Alaska stays cold so the snow they get dosen't melt in between systems.
I used to haunt the camp grounds and later the motels of mammoth. This snow event has happened many times in the past.
What snow event are you referring to exactly? This winter has been an entire record breaking snow event that has happened maybe twice before.
Look like that rain helped the snow pack. That’s good. ❤
Hey I passed by you the other day. Thanks for stopping and letting me pass
🍻
You all have worked so hard and the rest of the nation is in awe of you guys! Be well and hold the fort! Sending hugs and hot chocolate. Don't lose your sense of humor! Your teenagers have done you proud!
Had to deal with that everytime my street was plowed.
If you're lucky the guy operating the bulldozer will dig out the driveway entranc ❤️e wall of ice lol
When there's been a ton of snow they usually can't BC they're in a rush.
The wall at the end of the drive way is basically ice like you showed, I had to use steel shovels and just throw the larger chunks by hand.
Welcome to life in Canada ❤️
Although that's a absolute ton of snow you've received, where I live it's not that deep, thank god!!
Hope you're all safe 🙏
Everytime I think how are you doing I see you post a video. Keep it up man
