Floor windmills constantly because she is singlehandedly trying to save the environment by generating clean energy for the entire world. A noble goal indeed.
Being Dutch is a definate plus doing this! ;-)
@@BEstudent Yep, she's got a natural stat-bonus there....
I loled hard on this :D
@@eminabrestovac :)
@@BEstudent being a Finn Niitwish is a Finnish as can be and Floor hung out with the metal crowd in Finland so you go check yourself
Windmill in high heels and sing right after is one of the many reasons why Floor is the best.
Also I'm vaguely sure this is while she was pregnant to boot?
@@TheMadSocrates WAITAFUCKINGFUCK SHE WAS PREGNANT WHILE DOING THIS??!!
@@benceklock4831 I looked it up I got the years mixed up. I do seem to reading or hearing in an interview that she toured the early months of pregnancy, and I think it was in the context of that dress being what she wore because it was more comfortable.
Floor's "Windmills"are famous, she does them since she was a teen :)
Well, we Dutch are known for our windmill after all.
@@fnglert Right?? 😁
@@fnglert oh damn - we have more hydro centrals here... uhhhh..... bad on stage :D
This is the last song of the set! Such incredible energy!! Also if you havnt checked it out yet I suggest Sleeping Sun from this concert also.
Sleeping Sun is pretty much my favorite Nightwish song.
Hope You did some pre-study on this cause there's a meaning, true meanimg behind 🤗 All the best from 🇫🇮 🤗
My favourite Nightwish reactor. 🥂🎉🥳🎊🤘
Awnn thank you!
Yes she is!!! I love her
This was the closing song of the show. Floor is some kind of dynamo. She does the windmill to get more energy. She moves her head like that and energy flows through her body. There is one of this windmilling from her in Seven days to the wolves live Wembley, where she does for a long time and then she continues singing just like that. Some people has said that Floor is a FORCE OF NATURE.
yup, finished too early.. the end would have aswered one of your questions :)
Tea ? You'sure ? It's not venom or bourbon ? 🇧🇪
I’ve seen them play this live twice. It’s just amazing live, so moving. The recording is nice, but live is the magic.
She always seems to wear high heels on stage. And windmilling almost every chance she gets.
Usually Elvann just happens to look away when Floor is windmilling, finally she noticed it 😂
Boomstin Bang, I think Floor just REALLY LOVES performing live! 😊
And she does it since After Forever, I love it
The more Floor dances around, the more she enjoys that particular song.
It's the last song for that show. It's epic!
Also Tuomas' love of soundtracks is evident in everything he writes.
Even more so, if you go to listen some auri and life and times of scrooge stuff
Great reaction. You're not criticizing. You're analyzing. Analysis is breaking down techniques and performance without placing subjective judgment. Critics judge songs/performances. You break them down.
Are you French Canadian? I'm not great with accents, but it sounds like it.
Great reaction to a masterful song. You had very interesting things to say so thanks for that, Elvann. I've waited a few hours to watch this and you didn't disappoint :)
You skipped the end, so you also missed the final voice message of mr. Dawkins. And this was the final song of the concert.
not a big deal at all since shes just reacting to the vocals cuz shes a vocal coach lol.
@@Mohankeneh As long as she knows there is more and cuts it intentionally then OK. But there was nothing suggesting so... just too quick to stop?
@@SYNtemp It wasn't intentional, I didn't know there was more. But heh, that's life. I'llgo back to watch the ending later, it's not a big deal!
Mohankeneh
But she only reacted to Floor. I see no opinion regarding Marko's vocals
@Kenneth Nyman you're a joke, and not even a funny one
Awesome reaction and analysis,, the “hair spinning “ is called Windmill, don’t know if you knew the term.
What was the placement of the song in the show? It was the last one! Yes she has a lot of energy left. My own working hypothesis is, that the windmills actually recharge her like a windup toy ;) Just much better of course.
About her headbanging. Do you know that there in concert were parents of Floor? And she was headbanging before them. I imagine, her mom thought: "C'mon, what's you doing, daughter?" There are no into her music, but were very proud of her when that show ends. And i wonder how fast Floor is going from headbanging to singing, and has no headache with her windmill. She is incredible.
If you want to see what her parents really think, there's an interview from the concert in this dutch documentary (english subs) where you can hear her parents.

@@cornflowerofsweden1288 Thanks for this, I have not seen it before.
Why in the world is head banging such a difficult concept to you? You think people get headaches just from head banging or something?
As the name says.. is not only a song.. It is a show.. Fun fact.. they can play almost 45 minutes with 3 songs... Greatest show, Poet and the Pendulum and Ghost love score// =).. Thanks for your reaction!!!
Awesome as always
I think that Elvann you are the most best reactor for Nightwish songs ......LOVE YOUR REACTIONS ALLWAYS!!!
Everything was great, your reaction, the song, and their performance. This song still blows my mind, this band musicality is on another level 👍
I think Floor headbangs any chance she gets :D. I don't think I've seen a Nightwish live performance where she doesn't at least once per song.
Nooooo you didn't watch the to the end of it. You really should. Richard Dawkins ties a nice bow on the whole song.
I think maybe Sleeping Sun, but, yeah...Pretty much every song! :D
When Floor asks "will you sing with us? " followed by WE WERE HERE always makes me cry. It shows the planet will still be here long after mankind has gone
I too have considered in billions of years when either as a species we've moved on or died out what will be left to show we were ever here. There are chemicals, particles that don't exist naturally that will still be detectable in the soil, oceans. atmosphere. This all predisposes whomever it is that comes here is even looking for signs of advanced scientific life. The greatest tragedy would be if we allow ourselves to go extinct.
Finaly, I was waiting so hard for this song :-) Thanks a lot.
We were here !!! 🤘🤘🤘 , Amazing reaction thankssss.
I can assure you that Floor's start in this operatic tone is intended. To me it express the start of the universe, dark, simple but evolving - like she is doing through the song - evolving and using all kind of voice nerd gigs plus body/facial expressions. She is quite unique in this.
You also really see it in The Poet and the Pendulum - and 7 days at the wolves - but she actually almost always do this kind of building up.
And you are a super cool reactor, while you know - really know - your stuff. And you sing Nightwish songs - respect 🤘
I appreciate your reactions and commentary Elvaan. Your knowledge gives a good perspective.
We are the universe made manifest. Here to understand itself. From the galaxies to the solar systems. From all the planet's to all the vastness in between. Hince from the star's we came. To the star's we must return. Before the eternal night of us ALL. For no other reason. To proclaim to the rest of the universe.
WE WERE HERE!!!
Great reaction. The song and their performance was mind blowing and it still amazed me whenever I was back to watch it again.
I like you because you never judge, you only evaluate.
for me "the gratest show on earth" is the best song that tuomas has composed, it is really his masterpiece. and with the voice of Floor Jansen this song quit the human dimension for enter in the divine domain.
Over 20 years of experience there on stage
and it's a metal concert Headbanging
is part of it
I don't know why you think it's so weird
Learning so much from you. Thank you!
This is Huge! Ultimate performance ,.... 👍 ❤️
This song is incredible. Goosebumps from begin to end. ALWAYS!
Troy is playing a Low Whistle at the beginning - then Uilleann Pipes.
Troy plays the tin whistle also called low whistle. And the pipes, were Uilleann pipes, an instrument for those with a masochistic trait.
And it was the final song of the set list.
Always a pleasure, seeing you being in your element. Glad to be back...
Really appreciate the comment about opera tone not having to be only the strict rounded head voice shown here. Have in mind though that the particular way Floor approaches this part is actually important. The tone she uses shows a lot of vocal discernment if you take into context the actual lyrics and what this part is designed by Tuomas to represent. The juxtaposition between the pre-existing opus perfectum that is Gaia with us as imperfect entities still sleeping in it and waiting to evolve into existence is shown perfectly via the way the big operatic sound thins and then cuts into the whispering part (that's when you paused the video). A brighter tone would actually fail to convey here both the - introductory to this show of life - narrative aspect of the lyrics AND the intended contrast I wrote about above (as well as the move from minor to major, also intended here). Cheers..C:
Dante800 literally the ONLY informative or useful comment in this whole comment section
I was about to write this (1 year late lol). There isn't a single reason for her to not sing exactly as it is... the first part is about coming to life, everything is still dark. Things get brighter exactly when Mr. Dawkins says "Isn't is a noble and enlightned way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work and understand the universe, and how we came to wake up in it?", and that's when the music explodes (big bang, someone?).
I just watched a ton of Elvann reactions, and liked it in general, but her technical analysis (whichs is good) often makes her miss a lot of context.
One of the reasons I love your reactions is the emotion you show on your face and the obvious joy you have at the beauty of the music.
And the 'flute' that Troy was playing at the start was a Tin (Irish) Whistle in Low D I believe. He seems to have a number of them in different keys. I always love tin whistles over recorders as they always seem more mellow and flute-like to me, even though they are less versatile with key changes!
Also, it is a shame you missed the last 20% or so of the song as there are some beautiful melodies and thought provoking lyrics spoken by Prof. Dawkins (his own words and Darwin's) which are the culmination of everything Tuomas was working towards on this album.
Great reaction to the greatest show on earth. I'm still amazed with this performance from Tampere, it was really a magical performance.
I gotta say, you are probably the sweetest person I have seen on UA-cam. Keep up the great attitude
I'm fairly certain that Floor is ACTUALLY a Valkyrie. No jokes about it.
There was a question about it?
Tuomas is actually using the fireworks as another instrument. This song is about the origins of the universe, and I believe the fireworks represent the Big Bang. I always love when musicians reach outside the traditional and surprise us with what can create music.
The song isn't about the big bang. The fireworks represent the asteroid bombardment during the Earth's creation.
Amazing reaction Elvann, greetings from Mexico!
Tons of energy! Especially for the last song of a nearly 3 hour show!
Floor is a bad ass angel!GOD given talent
This song doesn’t even feel like it’s more than 20 minutes long.
The actual song including the intro is more like 16 minutes long I believe. The rest is the instrumental outtro with Dawkins.
Yeah, It's actually like whole life of Life
Doesn't even feel much more than 5 minutes. Brilliant
Nightwish defies the Space/Time Continuum. It would take Einstein or Hawkings to fully explain it, but times passes more swiftly when Nightwish music is being played. Seriously, check it out.
Floor, a long with adding vocal flourishes to songs that broaden the sound, her "head banging" is also an added measure which she does to enhance the song and get the crowd into the song. She is the epitome of a performer fully in charge of her instrument and presence.
oops and troy sorry and Thoumas is genious bless him and all of them blend so well now loving it such a change from them superb :-)
she´s ( floor ) feeling the music! headbang baby!!!
This is insane... Im getting old, but Nightwish beats it all, all my old heroes
One of their best masterpiece. Great reaction by the way 👍
I can’t believe this song... 😍
Floor- vocal decathalete and marathoner at the same time!!!
Floor is the next stage in human evolution - have you seen the size of her neck - who knows what her daughter will be capable of when she is older? 😜
If you listen carefully, you can hear snippets of Toccata and Fugue by Bach, Enter Sandman by Metallica - and the keyboard from 22:30 - 23:00 is very reminiscent of the theme from John Carpenter's "Halloween".
Considering how well her sister can sing I can only imagine how her daughter will sound when she is older.
he plays enter Sand man, just listen to the lyrics after that ; "Man, he took his time in the sun
Had a dream to understand
, A single grain of sand"
It's actually Bach's Minuet in G
Just another brilliant touch from Tuomas.
This IS about birth of earth and Life and evolution and end of mankind ...so he just added some parts about evolution of music 🥰
@@marttivuorinen8475 The perfect spice to a gourmet dish.
I understand that well executed headbangs help relieve stress from the vocal system
Floor's windmilling alone? Remember she is a lot younger than most other band members. Head banging and windmilling probably discouraged by these old guys doctors. Floor does it because she is a performer and crowds love it. (And she is super human.)
The monotone part Floor is singing (?) is also bound to the theme at that point: gravity.
So it comes from her mouth with… gravity. Where also the drums and bass go.
There's so much composed to this, you really can't get them all at one listening.
And it actually helps if you'd know the lyrics beforehand - then you have time to notice how they are woven together with the music, the story told in many layers at once.
This makes my friday ossom! day after tomorrow going have a sun in Gran Canaria and there listen all your wonderful reactions and proud to be a FIN!! and a country where is about 5 million people and over 100000 lakes.........and so many fine bands!!!!!
🤘🤘❤️🤘🤘 Wonderful as always!! You always brighten my day on here!! Ignore the negatives and just do you!!! 😊🤘🤘
Nice reaction. It was mind blowing performance, the greatest show on earth for sure.
Really like your explanations on her voice. I am really looking forward to their new album next year. Maybe you could do an album review at that time.
Don't know if anyone mentioned this in their comments, but the fireworks were synchronized to the music to "resemble" the big bang. 😊❤🤘🤘
Can you imagine if they played this at the Superbowl Halftime Show...!?
The second half would be an all out Scottish war out of Braveheart!
This is the masterpiece of Nightwish
If you haven't already seen it you should check out Floor's version of Stargazers.
Your analysis of what's happening vocally is very interesting and informative.
Maybe she decided that it fits here in this song better than the one you described.
Hi Elvann love your reactions but did you miss the metalica riff at 23:28. Just wanted to point that out to you. greetings from the Netherlands.
Who cares about that Metallica riff, but the organ fugue that comprises the second movement of BWV 565 in D minor by J.S. Bach needs more appreciation.
Nightwish do. If it weren't for Metallica, Nightwish wouldn't exist.
@@maxmattt That is an urban legend. Granted that Tuomas saw Metallica live as a teenager, but he also saw G'n'Rs at the same concert, of which he said it changed his life. However, this is far from saying that Nightwish wouldn't exist without Metallica, as Tuomas has never said that they influenced his music & songwriting, although Emppu is a Metallica fan. Besides, Metallica hasn't come up with anything worthwhile fro 20+ years.
Tarmo Tyyri , I care about the Metallica riff!
@@agustinmanyari OK & you also got it. Any particular reason why she should have noticed it also?
This was the last song of the concert. So the energy she displayed here is after performing for 2 hours. :-)
Yes, it was great. Maybe she knew she can invest all that remains :)
The flute is a shakuhachi. So named for its length. It is indeed bamboo.
Nice job reacting👍its not a big deal you mised the end! Carry on the Nice work you are doing🤘
Didn't know you lived in Finland. But that hoodie, Iittala mug and Assembly poster gave it away. :D
She’s the only one doing it as she’s the only one not playing an instrument. Also she’s bloody good at it lol
Great reaction even if you skipped the Dawkins point the song was making throughout. Funny how Tuomas and Floor were both into science as they were growing up and here they combined both science and their passion for music in an epic art form. A always love your little discuss especially the Opera info, only Elvann can give you an epic Nightwish song along with a lesson on Opera and song structure and how Floor is amazing in heel windmilling (she is Dutch) and then coming out of it into the vocals. Love you channel and the fact you are starting to expand to other bands and genres.
i would die very happy hearing that voice
Oof! Just got “naughtified” 😋 At last TGSOE! Slow coach, keep up 🤣😁 Full magic mode I see - harp, amulet and mug. 🤟😃
Hi thank you for this i am so glad you reacted to this still waiting to hear your growl lol only kidding Floor has changed things so much from early stuff love your reactions keep going :-)
This song is what I use as evidence to fans that want to complain that Floor's vocal talents were underutilized on the album. In this one song her vocal talents are given the full spectrum.
You finished too early... the song goes on... and there is an important message said by Richard Dawkins you missed...
TBH It's good that she did, Dawkins is annoying nerd.
@@wildcardbitchesyeehaw8320 for you for me but mayby not for another fan so let him say his thing if you are human
@@wildcardbitchesyeehaw8320 You're just too stupid to understand what he says, but hey who am I to judge
@@wildcardbitchesyeehaw8320 If Dawkins in an annoying nerd, we should only be so lucky to be all annoying nerds. Smart, knowledgable, wise. I can think of worse things to be.
Sheesh.
I wouldn't call it "important". It's a guy's view about things nobody could possible know the truth about. The first time I heard that "within decades we must close our eyes again" line, I pretty much tuned him out. Fear mongering.
Ahhh you missed the closing of the show! The outro music and further words are incredible
Love your Iittala coffee mug... :-)
I only have about 30 years left to live so have decided to only watch Nightwish (with Floor) reactions.
They did indeed sync the fireworks. TankTheTech says there are two ways they could be done. One is on timers. The more reliable way, which he believes they used, is to have techs firing them off in response to audio cues (like a click track.) The "flute" is an Irish tin whistle, if I'm not mistaken. You ended too soon, though!! There was more to see (plus a heartwarming concert ending, if you go far enough.)
Enjoyable listening to you talk about how the women use their differing instruments to sing, love the reaction/explanation as usual. Cheers.
I liked your examples of different "positions" in classical voice.
You missed the fireworks at the end.
Elgon Williams, no.
I'm sure there are plenty of reaction videos for fireworks to satisfy you.
themuse011 I guess that what he means by fireworks might be Dawkins speech at the end.
I feel as if this song is incomplete without that speech, but yeah, it's not a big deal anyways
@@CrizeChannel I was referring to the fireworks display at the conclusion of the concert, it's part of the outro and production credits for the DVD from which the video was taken.
The song IS a complete firework
Funny you should comment about how big Floor's approach to the openning section is, because as of the 2018 Decades tour she now does it *even bigger* in the kind of operatic mixed voice she used in Phantom on Beste Zangers (and in the Decades tour on The Kinslayer and parts of Gethsemane), which I personally think sounds absolutely amazing but I'm a total sucker for female classical voice types using at least some chest resonance.
Oh, and this song was the last one they performed in that show, which makes her energy level in this performance even more impressive.
We're pretty much on the same line of thought here I feel! :D I definitely have similar tastes! ;)
Thank u for doing this :) Btw u got a nice necklace!
Thanks you!! :D
Mine Aver Magic amulet 😉
@@oneoddsockk Used to be like 300 years ago :]
Oh yeess, what a great song! Another masterpiece from the musical genius Thomas, with the amazing vocal skills of our metal goddess Floor... and who else could do a better reaction and analysis as the awesome Elvann:-)
I think each song was composed for the singer of its era. The problem for Annette was that she was not really fitted for the Tarja Era. But Floor can do everything, so she got no problem to blend in. Plus she can make each song her own by giving it even more emotion.
Nice work lass.
that last part belting for 2 mn is insane... and after an hour and half of singing... just insane
Will you be reacting to Floor's version of Poet and the Pendulum? Curious minds want to know. :)
The instrument at the beginning with the "flute/clarinet" sound is called Uilleann ( pronounced I - lee - ann ) Pipes, are similar to Bagpipes.
Very nice to hear You say Tampere correctly😀
Hehehehe! 🇫🇮 ❤️
Same concert - Toumas and Floor ``Week fantasy
Nice reaction, but you missed the end.
