LYRICS:
Something from the earth came
Something for the world
Mosaic of broken fragile pieces
Tesserae of the deceased
Born to a novel world
Endless chain unbroken
Silent clocks rewinding
My song it is for mankind
Embers to the stars
We are their heir, dust on their palm
We are because of a million loves
We´re the perfume of the timeless
Last sighs on a death bed
Time set
For a curious ghost
Lives lived plain and epic
Of eudaemonia
12 score and 1 chain of lives unending
Welcoming as my offspring
Walks me to the weave

I´m biologist. NW inspired me to become a biologist in 2015 with EFMB, and now I helped to discover a new shrew species... just imagine how I feel every time I watch by first time a NW video inspired in nature and evolution... THANK YOU NIGHTWISH. Kiitos!!!😍🔥🔥
That is so inspiring!
Same here! I had been working as a geriatric nurse for a few years but always wanted to study biology. EFMB lit the spark again and Dawkins' "The Greatest Show on Earth" did the rest

Does sound good, but I'm afraid I will always miss Marko.
This will become my neighbors' new favorite song.
Bei passenden Gelegenheiten doch immer wieder ein guter Spruch.
I live in a Townhouse. For the last 5 years my neighbors have been very cool about my loud music. But I hardly play at night, mostly in the day when most people at work. I'm retired and a day drinker, so it works out just fine. Can't wait to get the whole record and play it properly. Just not the same listening on the phone. Course about ten years ago I listened to all NW on my phone till I bought all the CDs. Then what a difference on the big stereo.!! ☮️🤘🤘☕☕

"You are the dream of many ancestors."
I'm on a jampacked train standing skin-to-skin with other people in a car with a broken AC in a tropical city after an exhausting 8 hour shift and I'm just trying to survive through this day and, for some reason, I see this line and my eyes are watering and my heart is, at once, too big and too whole and too empty.

I weep immediately when I see the lines.

In order to be born
you needed:
2 parents
4 grandparents
8 great-grandparents
16 second great-grandparents
32 third great-grandparents
64 fourth great-grandparents
128 fifth great-grandparents
256 sixth great-grandparents
512 seventh great-grandparents
1,024 eight great-grandparents
2,048 ninth great-grandparents
For you to be born today from
12 previous generations
you needed 4,094 ancestors
over the last 400 years.
Think for a moment about
how many struggles and battles,
how much sadness,
happiness,
love stories,
and hopes for the future
they have to undergo
for you to exist in this present moment.
You are the dream of many ancestors.
And somehow, you managed to live in the same timeline as Nightwish 💖
Plot twist: Very probably, a great percentage of the 4,096 ancestors are the same persons. Our civilization used to be highly endogamic until a couple of centuries ago.

The text in the beginning gave a whole new meaning for the instrumental part. What an experience. Thank you Nightwish, can’t wait for the whole album🤯
absolutely, as if it was written with this idea for a video already in Tuomas‘ mind
it really puts some weight on your shoulders, sends shivers down your spine but it is so true
Though it ignores cousin marriage, which is not uncommon in some parts of the world
The text at the beginning was divine. Really makes you reflect just how special our existence is. Each one of us is the collective effort of over 4,000 people over the past 12 generations. This new albums is gonna be amazing!
TGSOE Outro - Dawkins:
“We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones
Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born
The potential people who could have been here in my place
But who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara
Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton
We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA
So massively exceeds the set of actual people
In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here
We privileged few, who won the lottery of birth against all odds
How dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state
From which the vast majority have never stirred?”
Oh, this song just keeps getting nicer and nicer the more times I listen to it. I can't wait to hear the new album but time doesn't matter if I have to I'll wait forever. I love you Nightwish in this and other lives. ❤❤❤
One word: MASTERPIECE - absolute love it
A few years ago, together with a dear friend, we gave a very old early edition book to Tuomas. It was ´The Origin of Species` by Charles Darwin. The look that he gave me when he looked up at me will stick with me until I die. He looked amazed and excited and commented that it´s the most important book of our times. It was so meaningful to see it being featured in this new video. What an amazing and epic song.. Goosebumps all over. Thank you Nightwish

I’ve been a fan of Nightwish for nearly 25 years now and I think of all of their albums as an amusement park with each song being its own ride where you close your eyes and let the music take you on a journey of twists, turns, loops, vivid imagery, laughs, tears, and amazing feelings that you want to ride again.
I’ve been a fan for 20 and they are my favorite band no matter who is singing
Excellent description.
This. Best way to look at their albums. A ride in a different time, through different eyes, yet the same.
Totally agree. Imaginaerum really hit that nail on the head tho lol

If you haven't heard their song "our decades in the sun", definitely plan to do so- but save it for when you have enough time and readiness to cry your heart out. It's a wonderful song, a salve for the heart (but also very heartbreaking when it's fresh, it was for me at least, sorry i'm clumsy at explaining it)
My perspective... it's been 12 days since this song has been released... I can't even give you an accurate number on how many times that I have not only listened to the track, but also watched the video... Let's just say that the numbers are high... What do I think?... As a fan of Nightwish for 20 years I can say that this song radiates pure mystique and has one of the best choruses in the history of Nightwish, it is a song with all the essence of the Nightwish that we all love, here there are vestiges of Century Child, Human . Nature, Once, Dark passion play and Imaginaerum... what more can people ask for? They chose this song to be their diffusion cut, their ''calm'' song... imagine what that album is..Few pleasures are savored more than maturing alongside Nightwish..PD:I understand what many people say about the chorus and the volume of Floor's voice (Spotify version sounds much better), but I invite you to listen to the chorus of ''Master Passion Greed'' and you will hear the same artistic intention, where the orchestra takes center stage, and the singer alone It fits... it's not an error.
Absolutely brilliant summary of this song!
Agree 100%. 🙏👍😊❤️
This doesn't have any interesting melody though.
It sounds as if I wrote it, even though I'm not a songwriter.
Compare it to masterpieces like for example Stargazers. Not even close.

Just like the nature, Nightwish also evolves
Nightwish is a foundamental part of my journey to achieve mental health. While enduring lots of mishappenings, their music is always there as a medicine to the soul. Metal is cathartic, and when it's combined with symphony and specially bagpipes and flutes, oh dear! That's a recipe for encouragement, love and also the eagerness to go and achieve the best through talent. While I myself am on a journey of unification of cosmogonic and cosmological theories, Nightwish already has helped a lot. When human consciousness is somehow remembering and reintegrating the complexities of the reality we live, it is important to have musicians who dare to speak for humanity, even as a tharepeutical tool. We are in amazing times, and all kinds of knowledge, science, art, talent and music that can help humans remember their true origins is absolutely welcome. I just hope that this new album helps me remember the beauty of the humans as visitors and inhabitants of Teth/Gaea/Earth, so I can also cherish and appreciate the fact that I was born as a human. The human experience can be daunting and stressful, but it is also full of joy, creativity and beauty. Cheers for our ancestors of all cultures and lands. Thanks!
Well put my friend. Thank you

Are we? Really? I guess these Ancestors thought they will leave us here to make things better. They would be confused when they see the World we lie in now. The Path we are going now is dangerous. There are Evolutionbreaks who think up is down and Light is dark, that even Evolution is not real, Gender Warlords and Real Warlords. I just wonder...what will be the next Step in Human Evolution. What will be become? We won't see that coming

I love eating an edible and watching westerns, just absorbing what it must have felt like for people in those times. I have never liked westerns until I turned 40. And Interstellar opened my mind to space, time, and how everything ties together. So many theories and ideas about all of humanity and what could have been and what may be one day becomes more fascinating in middle age.
Happy Birthday 🎂
Hahahahahahahaha
Hope you had a great birthday!!🎂
The ancestors are definitely proud of you Tuomas, for creating music that you feel deep in your heart.🧡 The sound of each note moves an emotion in me and brings tears to my eyes.🤗Your creations are no longer just music, but higher art. The entire Nightwish team deserves five stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
another masterpiece!
I hope Tuomas takes a hundred years to become a tree. And I also hope that in these hundred years he never stops making music. 🎩 ❤
Nightwish never fails to make me stop and think about life in a lot of amazing ways.
I met NW in 1997 - their first album "Angel Fall First" or rather "Lappi" fell to my heart very much. Since then, I have been following NW's work and I must honestly say that each new album is surprising and full of new discoveries for me!
I'm looking forward to the new album because the single "Perfume Of The Timeless" has already captivated me!
Well done NW! Keep it up!❤
Beautifull song and message. Love how Thuomas try to make people see that nature is so important and beautifull!
This is why I love Nightwish. Each song isn't just a song. It's an experience! Would love to see them in concert one day!
Cant barely hear what they sing. Dissapointing
I did, and all I can say is: travel to another country if needed to watch the concert. It’s perfection, zero mistakes; they sound live exactly how they sound recorded.
Saw them last June, with Floor at 7+ months pregnant and seemingly ready to pop on stage. She was obviously holding back more than she (or we) would like but it was still one heck of an experience. If you get the chance, do your damnedest to make it...
That whole opening statement is quite thoughtful and profound, especially "you are the dream of many ancestors."
the ancestors were different. Some of them were bad people, some were rapists or murderers. It's such a strange idea by Tuomas. Also, the amount of ancestors is not growing exponentially, it's absurd, there were a lot of inbreedings, also, some offsprings of one ancestor generations after could meet and give birth to the new generation. It's a scientific fact, that about 70 000 years ago, there were just 2000 ones of Homo Sapiens left.
@@Mordorian_Orqueit's not by Tuomas, it's the exact idea begind IFS therapy and family constellations therapy. Definitely not original.
@@Mordorian_Orque So, we are all inbreeds, that explains a lot of the bad behaviour in the comments!
ooooooooooo k
@@Mordorian_Orque note that it doesn't specifically state your own ancestors nor human ancestors specifically and the numbers put down where a guesstimate. also doesn't state that we are a good dream.
ultimately, there is innumerable & currently incalculable variables that went into our existences. just simply 1 person passing by another person on the street can be the moment that tipped the domino effect that led to your birth.
one carnivorous dinosaur deciding to chase down 1 plesiadapiformes over another could have made it so humans never came into existence. just simply talking to someone will change the course of your life in ways you may never know. might just be something as small as changing the outcome of a coin flip or something as large as causing a war. in the end we are most definitely a byproduct of millions of ancestors, just not all directly related to us nor all human. we are but fleeting dreams that will influence will create more dreams and influence other dreams into becoming good dreams &/or nightmares...
The live version will be amazing.
The more I listen to it, the more I love it
Well, that was ballsy, 8 minutes music video for a first single... And I must say... What a slap right in the face! The video is amazingly well done and the song grows in you every time you listen to it. I must bow, well done Nightwish.
Actually their first single was Sagan, but agreed. What a banger!
@@GregTheReaper Wtf ? ^^ Sagan is an old song, no link with the coming album, or I missed something ☺
@@axelroyer8394 You said this was their first Single, yeah Sagan is an old song but if memory serves me correctly it was released as a single as it's never been part of an album.
Though if you meant this was their first release for this particular album, then my misunderstanding!
They never feel as long as they are.
@@williammelaniegappmayer2655 Was a short 8 minutes!
My mother and I listened to this song/video together. She loved it, and even if she doesn't know english she gets what the song was trying to say.
Nightwish is the one band she would eagerly come to a concert if they came here.
Wow, you made my day...for me, its the best song/lyrics/video I saw the last years...
I salute this work ❤️🔥
Tuomas is a genius that’s it
I am beyond words, this is art. I actually almost started crying. Thank you for giving us such an amazing song once again!!
Oh! Cant wait as the Nightwish Saga continues taking us towards new stories of unforgettable adventures 👏🏻🤟🥰❤️ Nightwish is not just epic music. It's a journey that goes deep within.
🤘😁🇫🇮💙🪄🎼✨💯👍
It's magnificent that Tuomas is aboarding this concepts or main themes since EFMB. At least for me. Is pure art.
His Trilogy.
@@Donna-C exactly 👐
What another master piece, Nightwish never desapointed... Im a biologist and work with insects and its amazing how much we have to learn and discover, but at the same time its sad, because all we know is diying... Thanks for everything!!
"Thanks for all the fish" HHG2TG.
The musical creations of Nightwish are a gateway to the soul. They hit so deep.
Nightwish has saved my life many times. Dark passion play was my favorite and imaginarium told a great story.
Hello Tuomas . I can say. That this song takes me to infinity. We are stardust. The voice of Flor is great and the light of sound is unique in the universe. thank you.! It's my feeling today!
Both the song and the video are works of art. Awesome does not even start to describe them.
perfect music for the moment we are living in, tragedy, wars, destruction of families, nature dying every day. Thank you Tuomas, you are a modern genius
No era in history is paradise, beside are you really at war right now? Or are you sitting in your room, perfectly safe.

@@leakout9654 what the heck are you talking about? Sure you can have empathy but don't act like these years are worst.. it's not, things like this has been going on forever, it's just now that you living in it and are aware, plus you get easy access to information to those stuffs. Don't blame the band for trying to make you feel positive.
such an amazing song and a video. EFMB lit a fire inside me to study biology when I was 17 and now I've got a master degree in botany . still notice details in efmb after all of those years. thanks to you guys I met with amazing people and built friendships that will last life long. You are truly a gem ❤
Congratulations guys, another masterpiece, can’t wait for September when the trilogy becomes complete.
Outstanding! Seriously To Everyone Involved in This Project Nailed It ❤
I follow Nightwish since 1997! It’s unbelievable how they still find imagination and creatcreativity to do these mind blowing songs ❤️😁
It’s all about the legacy and the entire Tuomas journey into this world. I am a huge Nightwish’s fan since the Century Child’s era. I cannot be more proud of him. amazing, just amazing work.
Usually, metal music videoclips range from average to cheap and lame. Bands can't help themselves from showing off how they play their instruments and how they sing. This is a rare masterpiece.
Nightwish ascended 10 levels when they went into philosophy and science.
I listened The Poet and pendulum and Creek Mary's Blod before that to be sure: now I can tell this song is as epic and great. If therw someone complains about anything , who cares! ? They can keep on their whining and negative life.
Creek Mary's Blood is such a terrific piece
Agreed.. NIGHTWISH IS LIFE
Even Marko and Jukka left the band they still be here for us. God bless Nightwish for being part of my life.
They are Godless. They don't believe in God. They believe we came from nothing. 😂
Jukka is still part of the band--he does business work for NW.
Without Marko, Nightwish's Spirit is gone. Sadly. His and Floor's voice just matched.
@@maure1996 Marko's influence will always be missed.
Troy killed the band
Incredible, absolutely incredible ❤❤❤
Who else has become emotional? I think Nightwish's big strength is how they convey drama.
O melhor album deles...vai continuar sendo imagenaerum❤
Convey emotion
Floor's voice could be a little louder, but 🙀🤟❤
I was thinking that. She gets a bit drowned out during the chorus. Kinda wish she belted a bit more.
The mixing is just bad.
I thought it was my own earbuds or something but yes, Floor does seem to be drowned out a bit. The song and clip are banger awesome 🧡 but interesting to see other notice this too
I said the same, very bad choice to mix her in like this! We must be honest about this, it is just terrible!
Only in the chorus, though, but there it is really disappointing that the vocals drown in the mix. In contrast, one could argue that Troy‘s vocals in the outro are very dominant in comparison
Cant stop listening. Its spetacular, the sound, the story...NIGHTWISH IS FOREVER!!
