Not sure you still wants to know, but Comparator checks directly the hopper that all items are coming through. The tric is that non stackable item counts as a full stack, therefore activating the system. And because this hopper is in line it sends untaken items (stackable ones) to the next one this way making it impossible for them to reach full stack.
Mines got issues, I built it 1-1 (but in the sky because it's for my raid farm) but the hopper won't lock at 41, it was locking at 18 but now it won't lock at all. It'll feed the full stack into the next hopper and then into the chest, after it drops the stack it drops the filler blocks too. I've tried 3 different configurations and non work. I'm lost
Make sure you put in a full stack of the item you want filtered or else it wont work, also make sure your item filters are named, and also check if your hoppers are all directed correctly
10 months late, but as I was building mine for my raid farm I initially built it out of glass blocks so it would be spawn proof for my raid farm and had the same issue, changing the glass blocks into any other block fixed the issue!
excelent, the unstackable filter is just what I needed to add and totally fits into my set up, one thing I do is to add 44 filter blocks (4 x 11) so I only have one match item in the hopper, as it would get a bit wasteful on things like diamonds, many thanks
Hello, i'm not a usual user of the redstone so i have a question : this unstackable filter just can added one time per system as shown in your video ? I mean i can't add another one to filter 2 unstackable items in only one system. For exemple, i made a brewing farm with a filter system to add the ingredients, i wanted to to add in this system 2 unstackable filter for the water bottles and the turtles helmets, but like this all the items will go in just one chest. I hope it's understandable. Thank you ! :)
If I'm understanding you properly, you can add two but it won't actually help keep the bottles separate from the turtle helmets. You can look into specific filters designed to sort full bottles, and others designed for armour, but they're a bit more complicated.
@@laverage4273 Check raysworks "automatically sorting the impossible". It has some methods that might work. Has a filter for bows (which I think works for cross bows), saddles, potions. Not sure about the axes though.
A comparator can take a redstone signal from blocks like a hopper/furnace/barrel. The more items, the stronger the signal. These filters work by having the hopper below locked until a stronger signal comes through, turns off the redstone torch briefly, and lets the item through. 42 is the magic number where it unlocks. The number is slightly different with items that stack to 16 (a 64 of dirt is the same strength as 16 enderpearls).
I was having the same problem. For me the issue seemed to be that I put it at the very beginning of my sorting system with the items coming in from a hopper above. Using a couple of extra hoppers to scoot over where the items come down so that they go into the non stackable filter from the side seems to have fixed it.
Mine doesnt work for some reason, it just leaves the filter items where they are which is good but transfers all of the actual item i want sorted into the hopper below.
