As a relatively new player, with not a lot of background knowledge in Redstone circuits, I find these compilation and explanation videos extremely useful! Thank you for taking the time in putting in the effort to make this and others like it.
My father was a over the top, hyper voiced radio DJ on the east coast in the 1970s - 80s and I recently realized that UA-cam is the modern equivalent and that all the people who would have normally aspired to become local drive time morning “zoo crew” personalities in decades past, have migrated to acting just as wacky in Minecraft videos, makeup tutorials and the like. I can’t stand it when people over emote and get hyper exited about what really should be mundane topics like video games. So, I also greatly appreciate someone who speaks in a natural voice.
Man thanks for actually explaining how these things work, and segmenting the video. I'm so tired of videos like "this is how you build it!" without explanations of why it's built like it is, it makes modifying those builds such a headache.

To someone who's played Mimecraft for about 10 years, I have hardly ever understood Redstone... but he wraps it up nicely for us folks that just want to build beautiful... lol. A few basic Redstone contraptions will add a little class to those extended creative world builds. 🌎 After several years of having to mine everything, once creative came out, I kinda didn't look back. 😅

I'm really glad this video appeared in my feed. I play modded minecraft almost exclusively for a number of reasons, but so many modpacks just assume a certain level of knowledge, and nothing kills my enjoyment of a pack more than having to click off it every five seconds because the questline just isn't bothering to explain literally anything and skim through a half an hour long video to try to find a two minute section on the thing I actually want to know about. I didn't totally follow this video, for sure, but I got at least some of it and was able to see some of the stuff you can do with redstone. Part of my lack of knowledge is likely just that I don't watch much minecraft content, but still.
I would love to see a book like "Mumbo's Guide to avoid simplicity" or something where he shows his best Redstone machines and how to build them, Id Buy 2 at least.
Mumbo, i love you, for years i have been very discouraged of the new Minecraft updates as for they changed up how alot of redstone things ive built over the years on 360. You have given me hope, knowledge, and motivation to start playing again, thank you, this is the only game that doesnt make me angry from time to time
Coding is all about knowing how the building blocks fit together so that those combinations of blocks can then fit together and so on and so on. This video is so extremely helpful in trying to understand how to replicate some of your more complicated builds. So cool. Thank you very much for sharing this!
I used to not mess with redstone at all, but I've been trying to make a minecart junction system, so I've been pouring over these videos and finding ways to make all of my redstone more compact and less resource intensive. your explanations have helped a massive amount.
I like your other videos but this one is the most useful one. These builds all fit the balance between not too complicated but also still actually useful, and given that they can be combined in interesting ways you could make some pretty complex systems. I'll definitely be using some of these.
Don't worry, never too late to learn. I only know the dispenser one from the chicken farms and I recently learned the impulse sorting system. I wanna try out the elevator though. Might have to visit the ODEA website.
I got back into Minecraft recently and started messing with redstone. I know enough about redstone to follow along with tutorials but it's been so long I wasn't sure I'd be able make them work. I could not tell you how clever these are and how rarely I'll remember to use them XD The great thing is, at the simplest level, Mumbo can get a novice Redstone builder to understand how things work. Nice job once again!
What about 1.17 tinted glass, it is transparent but it does not have the [IS_TRANSPARENT] tag it doesn’t let light through P.s I don’t have a good PC so I can’t use snapshots.

@@igameidoresearchtoo6511 If you mean blocks that are considered transparent by the game, then no. But, if you mean blocks that look transparent to us, then there’s the slime block. It looks transparent but is actually considered solid by the game and can be used with smart pistons
For those just into red stone, start from the initial source and remember what each new step does. Mumbo doesn't always explain the right things in the right order
I don't understand most of what you do as of now, but that doesn't prevent me from being interested and willing to learn more. Because of you Mumbo, I learned how to hook up a redstone contraption to a redstone torch key. I appreciate the work you do.
After watching this, I was recommended the other video explaining redstone components that are used frequently. Can’t wait to see the next part in 3-4 years😂 Mumbo needs to make a redstone 101 class at this point
Yeah, there are a few things that I would like to use in my own builds if they work in Bedrock. Then there are things that look cool, but what would I really use them for? Like the TNT launcher at the end, I am an old FF fan and love airships, and this is small enough I can use it to make a functioning cannon for an airship (I build them big), but what would I really use it for? Will still probably add a few anyway.
check out SilentWhisperer! There's some good channels that cover bedrock redstone. Bedrock can't do the same things as Java, but it can do some things that aren't possible in Java too
This was insanely helpful! It's nice to learn the mechanics of WHY something works so that we don't just copy a design, if we know how it works we can tweak it to our needs. Honestly love these explanation videos! Thanks!

Piston Feed Tape + lava + timer + pressure plates = quicksand trap... quickstone? Quickstone Trap.
It's not a very 'constructive' one, but it's a use.
I figured out 3 among us quest with command blocks without watching youtube
You can use it in a door like a 6x6 or a 7x7 with an rs block to power them
You can feel smart for figuring that _yourself_ IN 4TH OR 5TH GRADE

I found out that if you make a smart piston but use a sticky piston you can make a really annoying piston noise and it only stops what you break it
How to make a lever:
Normal people: stick + cobblestone
Restone People: FlIp-FLOp
in other words: button lever

It basically acts as a button lever. It can be used inside contraptions where levers can't be used and you need constant powering.
I actually used a flip flop to make a train station pay system (with a and current as well)

Important: the smart piston only works with solid blocks
You say "solid blocks" but some people think that just means it is a full block, although blocks like glass and i'm pretty sure honey wouldn't work.
If you can see though a part of it it is not solid

Mumbo, i love you, for years i have been very discouraged of the new Minecraft updates as for they changed up how alot of redstone things ive built over the years on 360. You have given me hope, knowledge, and motivation to start playing again, thank you, this is the only game that doesnt make me angry from time to time
Coding is all about knowing how the building blocks fit together so that those combinations of blocks can then fit together and so on and so on. This video is so extremely helpful in trying to understand how to replicate some of your more complicated builds. So cool. Thank you very much for sharing this!

I used to not mess with redstone at all, but I've been trying to make a minecart junction system, so I've been pouring over these videos and finding ways to make all of my redstone more compact and less resource intensive. your explanations have helped a massive amount.
I like your other videos but this one is the most useful one. These builds all fit the balance between not too complicated but also still actually useful, and given that they can be combined in interesting ways you could make some pretty complex systems. I'll definitely be using some of these.

Don't worry, never too late to learn. I only know the dispenser one from the chicken farms and I recently learned the impulse sorting system. I wanna try out the elevator though. Might have to visit the ODEA website.

I got back into Minecraft recently and started messing with redstone. I know enough about redstone to follow along with tutorials but it's been so long I wasn't sure I'd be able make them work. What about 1.17 tinted glass, it is transparent but it does not have the [IS_TRANSPARENT] tag it doesn’t let light through

But, if you mean blocks that look transparent to us, then there’s the slime block. It looks transparent but is actually considered solid by the game and can be used with smart pistons

Yeah, there are a few things that I would like to use in my own builds if they work in Bedrock. Then there are things that look cool, but what would I really use them for? Like the TNT launcher at the end, I am an old FF fan and love airships, and this is small enough I can use it to make a functioning cannon for an airship (I build them big), but what would I really use it for?

And you can make an auto arrow shoot by just hooking up a red stone clock to the dispenser filled with arrows
