This has to be the best video on a mechanical repair service. At 73 years of age I watched this video a number of times before attempting but everything went great. It did take me half a day but was well worth it. I give it a 10 plus stars
Just replaced mine along with you. Runs great! Thanks 🙏
This mechanic gave one of the best demonstrations of how to do a carb replacement I have seen on youtube- very thorough and clear- explains every thing
Thanks👍🏻
You're the Bob Ross of small engine repair 👍thank you so much for helping me stay calm 🙏
Thanks I love watching bob Ross late at night, if you can keep your cool when a job is giving you trouble you will win!
A few years back I had a carb issue and they charged me $400 to fix it. Happened again recently so I bought a new one online for $40 and watched this video and it works perfectly, you are a life saver man. Thank you!
Hi
Im planning to order one tonight how about u 250 like after 2 months with new carb please thank u
Thank you for that information. You just save me several hundred dollars lol have a good day, sir.
This is hands down the best, most in depth video out. I wish I would have seen it a few years ago. Bought my 2005 Ozark and had hell figuring it out,due to it coming with the wrong carb. Again, this is absolutely the best vid for helping someone with one of these. This is definitely a great channel to be subbed to.
Very clear and easy to follow. Thank you. You’re a great teacher!
I agree with the comments about this being the best video for a repair. Great job dude. I appreciate it.
Thank you! That really blesses me that I could help you!
thumbs up id like to see more ozark repair vids...they are on point and very knowledgeable THANKS!
I just purchased a 2006 Ozark for 800 bucks. This video is a life saver! Thanks sir
Hey that’s awesome thanks!
Lol I just purchased an 06 ozark for $40 bucks
Thank you, just got it done while watching your video.
Hey I’m happy to help
Great job Mike learned alot, you explain every procedure, camera man did a great job as well
Wow! Awesome video. I literally installed my new carburetor just like you explained and the engine started perfectly. You are a great teacher!
Hey hey that makes my day! Thanks a bunch I’m happy to help!
Hey Mike, this video has been super helpful to me lately. You really have the heart of a teacher. Thank you!
Thank you!
Wonderful instructions; 60$ amazon replacement carb arrives in few days. I'm going to try and reuse the old choke tip gizmo.
Hey thanks for the good feedback! Sometimes the new carb will have a new choke tip with it that may fit different than the original just look at them closely to be sure they are the same, you got this!
Just got around to removing Ozark 250 carb and I foolishly drained fuel tank thinking for safety i had too. But in doing so, I forgot that newer style fuel petcock is vacumn operated ! So I freaked out, thinking no fuel draining meant broke petcock. Anyway, I'm calm now used prime petcock setting setting to drain tank. I'll never do that again as with no vacumn, no fuel flow.
New choke pin was already sitting in new carb with its spring which was smaller diameter than factory choke spring. Took me 20 mins to attach new choke spring to new choke pin. Having much difficulty getting new carb intake onto manifold intake boot, might have to used dremel to increase boot opening.
This was an awesome video!!! My son has a 2007 Ozark 250, and it has set for about 2 years with a half of a tank of gas. He bought a new battery and we tried starting it without draining the gas. So far, we haven't been able to get it started. We changed the factory spark plug (it was never changed, ran fine with it) and we are getting fire. I believe it is the old gas. I am draining the tank now and going to try and add new gas and see if we can get it started. This video has been a great help if we need to replace the carb on it. Thanks for sharing. Hey your very welcome you can resurrect it!
Easily one of the best replacement carb videos on youtube! Well done! I replaced mine today. It won't start unless I give it a little throttle and when I let off it dies, starts right back up and runs great while on the throttle but when I come off the throttle it dies? Any advice would be great!! Thanks brother
Hey thanks! It sounds like you need to turn up the idle a little, it should be a knob that you can turn by hand next to the bottom of the carburetor, I can’t remember exactly what it looks like on that particular machine because I do so many carbs
I’m having the same issue. Did you ever figure it out?
thank you so much, just the info I needed! 👍
Excellent video, very informative
Great advice and very easy with your guidance
I learned alil something from ya, thank u sir
Very good video. Much appreciated
Thanks man
Thank you! This is most useful 👌
Glad it was helpful! Your Welcome!
Very good , Master
Awesome! You make my day ! And I’m a teacher, I know what I’m talking about 😅
Thank you so much! that is awesome I’m glad to help
Could you please tell me exactly where you got the new carburetor from please any help would be greatly appreciated
Hey man I have ordered several from Amazon, I never get the cheapest one! It’s kind of a gamble with aftermarket carbs but if the reviews are good give it a shot, most of the time they do good but they are not rebuildable in the future
Do you know where to get the replacement petcock on this Ozark? I have the original and hear it's plagued with problems.
Get a Honda or Yamaha on Amazon that looks like yours just with vacuum hose
i know this is a old video but im wondering if you know if a normal style plastic clip will work instead of those cause mine is missing those and i havent really seen any on amazon?
I think they are a little smaller than the replacement ones but you can drill the plastic out a little if you need too
Why was the reserve hole in carb eliminated?
does the jets and mixture screws come already installed ? because theyre extra ones in the packet .
Yeah sometimes when you buy an aftermarket carb they come with extra jets because if you live in Florida at low elevation you will have different jet requirements than if you lived in the mountains at high elevation, but normally the one that comes in it works fine
@@holleyoff-road3554 ok , thanks for the Info .
hey man I have a huge problem 2002 ozark 250. new carb i installed it just like you did in the video. the atv wont run unless it’s on prime or i spray starting fluid then in just dies out. I loosed the fuel drain screw and fuel comes out so I know the carb has gas in it. can you help at all?
If the float valve is working correctly then when you loosen the drain screw it will flow out in a stream if it’s on prime, if a little comes out and it stop dripping then your float likely is not opening enough or is stuck shut, so if this is the case tap the side of the bowl with a screw driver or something and see if fuel starts to flow better, sometimes tapping it will make the float shake loose and work right, bottom line is if it runs on starting fluid it’s not getting fuel
@@holleyoff-road3554 I opened the carb back up and the float works perfect. Also i tapped it and no change. i just got it started by pulling the throttle cable then it ran pretty good. I put the throttle cable back to normal and it was idling nice. then i give it gas and it stalls, right after i tried to start it again and now it won’t. do you think it could maybe be i need bigger jets? I live in NM so it’s high altitude
btw do you have a link to that aftermarket carb?
Yeah I finally got it, sorry it took so long but here it is: amzn.to/3hxafLd
Which carburetor did you buy, I just bought one for 60 bucks that had good reviews for the exact same fourwheeeler, it idles perfect but falls on its face when you try to rev it, seems too lien, but it only has one position on the needle set. Thanks
here is the link to the carburetor on Amazon: amzn.to/3xARhJ8
My Ozark 250 runs for about 1 minute then sputters and dies. Wait 10 min, runs again for another minute, sputters and dies. Did this when running all day, engine was warmed up.
Float?
Take off the vent hose on the gas cap and on the sides of the carburetor, then blow through them, because one of them is stopped up.
@@holleyoff-road3554 Thanks! Will try it out!
@@holleyoff-road3554 cleaned the vent hoses out. Same problem. Sometimes it runs smooth like normal, sometimes it's sputtering and hard to run. I'm thinking maybe the original pet-cock has a vacuum leak (I hear there are lot's of issues with them). I took the carb off. Looks pretty clean. I'm guessing it's starving for fuel via that damn vacuum hose. WIll get a petcock like yours.
Changed the petcock, replaced a real dirty sparkplug and it's been running good as new ever since. Thanks for the great video.
I got a 07 250 ozark used that will only run with the choke switch all the way down. any ideas what might be wrong? P.S. nice hat!
The low side jet of the carburetor is stopped up. P.S. thanks bro!
Got my carb on but it doesn't have any slack in the throttle cable.. how do I adjust that?
You should thread the cable into the carb as far as it can go, often times I have to spin the carb while holding the cable still to thread it on and it’s the first thing I hook up to the carb, also you can adjust it at the handle bar, loosen the jam nut and thread the cable into the throttle housing until it gives you some slack in the thumb throttle
Did you bought the OEM carburator? I had a hard time getting an aftermarket one and finally found one but can't get it to work properly
1:44 i broke some of those lol
Yeah it was a aftermarket from Amazon
here is the link to the carburetor I bought on Amazon: amzn.to/3xARhJ8
How do u remove the drive shaft on the 06 ozark 250 I need to replace the oil seal on the back side of the drive shaft
I’m sorry I don’t know I have not had to do that yet, In the area I live in there are not very many Suzuki but lots of Honda and Yamaha
@@holleyoff-road3554 ok thank u
Awesome God bless
Mine has a vacuum port on it that hooks to the petcock that is vacuum operated. The job has 3 settings on, prim, and res. Kinda weird
Yeah if that valve ever goes bad and starts leaking to the outside or through the vacuume hose replace it with a Honda or Yamaha one that would bolt on the same but not have the vacuumed hose on it because they are very prone to going bad
@@holleyoff-road3554 I've learned this recently, have a yamaha one on the way to change it out. Thnk you sir!
I can’t seem to find a diagram to show me how the throttle housing is put back together on mine

This sight will show you the breakdown if you go through the parts section then click on the Suzuki button and you should be there. God bless man, hope this helps.

I am an idiot I broke so many of those plastic thingys 🤦♂️
