    Excellent video. You were right about the plastic spacers that go on the metering rod. When checking the one in the rebuild kit, the one that goes bellow the clip was twice the thickness of the stock one. After rebuilding my carb, the machine ran like crap and would only run while choked. I tore it back apart and followed your video. I couldn't find anything I had done wrong until I checked that spacer after you mentioned to use the stock one. I scrounged up the stock one, put it back together and runs like new now. I guess that extra thick spacer in the rebuild kit put the metering rod way too far out of spec. THANKS!

Don't know what the previous owner did looked like he knocked it flat or something 😡. I'll get myself a carb kit later, anyhow I've put the carb on and she idle fine. Start up immediately. Luckily it has a 95 main and 42 pilot jet in. My only issue is my current throttle can't feed far enough so I'll get the original cable soon. Thanks again for your informative videos I like it. When the pedal is frozen you have to remove the pedal from the shaft, which normally requires heat and some sort of puller (because it is so hard to take off). After that you have to clean up the shaft, there should be two grease seals in the pedal, they’ll need replaced. Then grease it all really well before putting it back together. This should have you good to go. Thank you for the comment and for complimenting the video.

      Hey I’m so sorry it took so long to get back to you. I like to use a paint can opener, it is kinda like a flat screw driver with a bent tip on it, you can just angle it and slip it up inside the seal and normally pull it straight out or use a screwdriver to pry it straight out, then clean the shaft from any debri, I like to use a scotch Brit’s pad before putting the new seal in, get a deep well socket that fits the outer diameter of the seal exactly and use that to drive it in with a little hammer

    hey man I have a huge problem 2002 ozark 250. new carb i installed it just like you did in the video. the atv wont run unless it’s on prime or i spray starting fluid then in just dies out. I loosed the fuel drain screw and fuel comes out so I know the carb has gas in it. can you help at all?

    • @holleyoff-road3554
      @holleyoff-road3554 Рік тому

      If the float valve is working correctly then when you loosen the drain screw it will flow out in a stream if it’s on prime, if a little comes out and it stop dripping then your float likely is not opening enough or is stuck shut, so if this is the case tap the side of the bowl with a screw driver or something and see if fuel starts to flow better, sometimes tapping it will make the float shake loose and work right, bottom line is if it runs on starting fluid it’s not getting fuel

      Just got around to removing Ozark 250 carb and I foolishly drained fuel tank thinking for safety i had too. But in doing so, I forgot that newer style fuel petcock is vacumn operated ! So I freaked out, thinking no fuel draining meant broke petcock. Anyway, I'm calm now used prime petcock setting setting to drain tank. I'll never do that again as with no vacumn, no fuel flow. New choke pin was already sitting in new carb with its spring which was smaller diameter than factory choke spring. Took me 20 mins to attach new choke spring to new choke pin. Having much difficulty getting new carb intake onto manifold intake boot, might have to used dremel to increase boot opening.
