I agree with your statement at the end on which order to watch the shows. But then again, BCS was made with the understanding that people have already watched BB beforehand so characters, their introductions and their motives might feel out of place for new viewers

I think @louri8447 is talking about Chuck’s final scene in the series finale. :) One of many characters whose last scene doesn’t match their last in-universe moment!
My girlfriend couldn’t get into Breaking Bad at first because of all the violence, but BCS was a nice lower-energy way to introduce her to the universe. It’s not release order, but it’s worked well enough

Haha, awesome! I’m still a little confused why Walt yells at Saul to “speak up” toward the beginning of that scene. It feels kind of random, and I don’t know if there’s some reason for it that I’m missing.
@betterwatchtv Honestly, you can't really tell with Walter, but I'm assuming it's just supposed to show the difference between the two Saul is clearly unhappy with everything and this entire identity change isn't even something he wants to do, while Walter is blindly trying to get through things without any care for other people Basically, Walt's just a dick and he'll take any excuse to be mean to anyone lmao
@@betterwatchtvThe "speak up" is an old, popular, universal, manipulative technique for intimidating someone. Basically, Walter didn't want to talk to him and Saul starts the conversation with reluctance and hesitation. He pretended he didn't hear him because some people, when they say that, they realize the chasm between them and usually reply with "Forget it. It was nothing". BB broken down Saul would do that, but BCS Saul with the weight of Jimmy Magill on his shoulders continues. Just like a young person during an interview or a large group. In the midst of the conversation, "Speak up/ Repeat yourself. We can't hear you." Oftentimes, the receiver gets discouraged by that and everyone could see it. Besides, Walter was a typical strict teacher, so, he always knew how to be authoritative or "bully" others. Simple but effective.
I personally also like to use that scene with Saul and Walter (and the ending of BCS) as the way to properly frame how Saul saw Walter the entire time. Walter's always thinking he's the big stuff while being surprisingly vulnerable without Saul bailing him out in many cases. Despite all Saul did, Walter always had a low opinion of him, given the "So you were always like this" comment. Walter only saw Saul as a useful idiot that his ego needed him to be, and Saul saw Walter as another Chuck, only with all the qualities of a self-serving egomaniac and none of the endearing traits that Jimmy and Chuck had, but ultimately tried to bury.
Of all of the characters in these tv shows and movie, for me anyway, the break-out sweethearts were Badger and Skinny Pete. What those characters did for Jessie in El Camino was amazing. That could've the ending of Better Call Saul, and it would've been perfect, but then just to show what was really left to say: Saul Goodman's ending, that was actually the real ending for Jimmy.

Thank you very much! I was worried about the video being too long (since I normally aim for 5-8 minutes) but I clearly drew the line too aggressively! Especially since all I needed to do was tack on a few more seconds to the hearing scene!
Emilio’s character has the largest gap, it’s almost absurd. Appears only in episode 1 of breaking bad and the penultimate episode of better call Saul, a 14 year gap
Peter only appeared in one episode of Breaking Bad, and one episode of Better Call Saul, for someone who played an important role for Gus, he barely gets anything.
That's her final in-universe scene (shown in ua-cam.com/video/xW-9IXpjGrY/v-deo.html) but that was actually one episode earlier than the scene I show in this video!

Yeah, that was a miss on my part. I should have included him. (I only included Werner because that scene was right there when I was including Gale's last scene.)

I was trying to draw the line somewhere, so Nick was never going to make the cut! But yeah, maybe I should have included Victor, Tyrus, Lawson, Ira, Erin, and Irene (plus Jack, Andrea, and Kuby). I almost included Paige, but her last scene was pretty uneventful.

@betterwatchtv it makes sense more story wise but because of the camera and lighting and all that feels like Breaking Bad never even happened and that it was just a dream of Jimmy
I think since Walter's story was already concluded perfectly in BB. The writers decided to use his last scenes in BCS to cater towards Saul's own conclusion
Everytime I watch Huell’s genuine question to Saul about why he does all his shady stuff really made me realize right in the middle of the show that Saul really was the bad guy.
First watch in chronological order: First Better Call Saul (S1 EP1-S6 EP9), then Breaking Bad, then El Camino, and then Better Call Saul (S6 EP10-S6 EP13) Second watch in chronological order: First Breaking Bad, then El Camino, and then Better Call Saul Third watch in release date order: First Breaking Bad, then Better Call Saul (Season 1-4), then El Camino, and then Better Call Saul (Season 5-6).
Walts line you were always like this come from the fact he is taking jimmy at his word when he says his regrets are bad knees Now was jinmy always like this to an extent yes. Bcs isn't a story about change its about failing to change for the better For the most part jimmy is negatively progressing but is mostly regressing and the ending is sort of about jimmy proving even though he did become slippin jimmy with a law degree he could change peter gould said that j8mmy had earned back his humanity and wouldn't repeat his actions but he did also state he isnt sure he necessarily redeemed himself in the sense that he cant undo the damage he caused but in his mind he has finaly changed into a better person even if it's in a prison
The way I watched the shows/film was. 1. Better Call Saul S1-S6 Ep1 - 9, 2. Breaking Bad, 3. Better Call Saul S6 Ep10 - 13, 4. El Camino. I understood that the final 4 episodes and El Camino can be watched either way after the majority of BCS and the entirety of BB but I kinda got spoiled for the ending of BCS and where Saul/Jimmy ends up and I felt that El Camino had somewhat of a happier ending so I saved that for last.
"Incredibly there's only one major character whose final scene is the moment they die." I mean when you think about it, that's quite obvious with the second series being a prequel. It's in its nature to show characters before they died.
ReWatched Breaking Bad for umpteenth time then watched Better call Saul for 2nd time. Saul was a must better watch with Breaking Bad fresh in my memory. These 2 shows hav the best character development of any show I’ve ever seen on TV. The way the writers answered questions about how these characters got to where they were in Breaking was brilliant. Even characters like Crazy 8. For some reason this character intrigued me. Seemed like a good dude deep down. It explains why (when Hank & Steve find 8’s car) they assume somebody “croaked they’re snitch”. Brilliant
Check out ua-cam.com/video/oNXY1mi0RgU/v-deo.html and let me know what you think! That one is in in-universe chronological order since it’s about character endings. This one is about the last scene from our point of view, so release order made sense to me!
I do have that on my list to do one day!! I’ve just been so busy with the weekly episode breakdowns that I haven’t gotten to some of these other ideas. Thanks!
The final scenes of the characters are not shown chronologically in the BB/BCS universe. For instance, the final scene of Todd in the BB/BCS universe is in Felina when Jesse strangles him. Saying Todd's final scene is in El Camino is inaccurate because it is a flashback. It is his final scene in the production universe, though.
Right, these are the final scenes in the real world… our chance to say goodbye to each character. In-universe last scenes would be very different for most of them!
Wow, well done. This is my first video and I think you were outstanding. Smart, well written, well spoken and I do love it when the narrator has good grammar. In addition I love it when the scenes are clear and concise I will subscribe and a look forward to more videos. 😊

Love that you considered the Popcorners commercial. It's really funny that as of today, it's one of the last pieces of Breaking Bad content we'll be getting in a while.
I hadn’t thought of it that way! Thanks! Also funny because the Popcorners commercial makes a quick cameo in my next video (on April 1st)…
Hopefully they make a Salamanca series so we can finally see all the salamancas together(Except for Hector and Abuelita, Rest in Peace o7)
Now do the based on timeline last scene
I think I will add that to my list! Thanks!
10:00 In a weird way that final shot evokes Walt’s unfinished Scotch from the end of “Granite State”
Yeah! I had never thought of that before this video!
Seeing Emilio at the tail end of BCS is like chefs kiss for the BB cameos
That *was* great!
This vid combines two of my favorite things.
The Breaking Bad universe and random trivia. 😎
Well! Then you’re in the right place! You’ll get even more trivia in my other videos, including the one that just dropped today! Thanks for the comment!
Can't believe you forgot Bill Oakley!!!
But fr, great video. Very insightful commentary, way beyond what I expected.
Thank you very much! I was worried about the video being too long (since I normally aim for 5-8 minutes) but I clearly drew the line too aggressively! Especially since all I needed to do was tack on a few more seconds to the hearing scene!
I watched El Camino last and it was in my opinion the best way to end off the Breaking Bad franchise.
Interesting. That’s actually what I did as well, but it wasn’t pre-planned. I can certainly see the argument for that order.
Emilio’s character has the largest gap, it’s almost absurd. Appears only in episode 1 of breaking bad and the penultimate episode of better call Saul, a 14 year gap
That is pretty crazy to think about! Thanks!
I don't understand why you didn't mention Bill Oakley, he is present and does matter for the whole series
Ah! You’re right, I should have mentioned him, especially because we were basically right there anyway!
The Popcorners commercial is per gold, even if the actual chips themselves aren’t very good.
Hahaha
Another great concept & video. Loved it. Kinda got emotional by seeing that title "Kim Wexler & Jimmy McGill". Farewell..
Aww, thanks!!
Marco's last appearance was in S1 E6 of the hit animated show "Slippin' Jimmy" and it's a crime he was forgotten
Haha, so true!
I guessed
Also as I'm typing you said that Kaylee's only Season 6 scene is in Axe and Grind, but she also appeared in Wine and Roses.
Oops, you're right! I was thinking of Stacey!
Peter only appeared in one episode of Breaking Bad, and one episode of Better Call Saul, for someone who played an important role for Gus, he barely gets anything.
Good point!
I love Clifford Main, he was by far the most good person in BCS
Yeah, probably true in terms of adult major characters!
Loved the whole 3series wish it could lasted forever
Yeah!
I wonder why they deleted the final scene of Gus, it would've been so good
Yeah, my only guess is that the restaurant scene was pretty long already.
Francesca’s last scene was on Better Call Saul when she was on the pay phone talking with Saul 😮
That's her final in-universe scene (shown in ua-cam.com/video/xW-9IXpjGrY/v-deo.html) but that was actually one episode earlier than the scene I show in this video!
Damn! This video is realy well made. This deserves more views. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I’m glad I got your view!
Fun fact
: 6:56 the title of the the episode is a reference to aron rolstan's book 'between a rock and hard place' based on the true event that he was in when he cut his own arm off to free himsef from being wedged between a large rock and a caynon wall for about 5 days.
Woah, I didn’t know about the book, but supposedly the expression dates back to Greek mythology!
You completely skipped Jack. Was he not worth it at all?
Even Werner was there
Yeah, that was a miss on my part. I should have included him. (I only included Werner because that scene was right there when I was including Gale's last scene.)
rip Mark Margolis
RIP Mark!
The kid on the dirt bike that was dissolved in acid was the worst death of all.
I agree!
Well, at least he didn’t feel anything…
Walt died, Jesse escaped, and Saul went to prison
Yes, but only Saul's ending is his last scene (in the real-world episode release timeline)!
I'm pretty sure the major character whose death is their last scene in the timeline is Nacho because he's not in breaking bad or el camino.
Yep (and that scene happened after BB & EC in the real-world timeline that I’m using here)!
@betterwatchtv very clever indeed!
I still think my favorite scene in all of this is the "Best two hitmen west of the Mississippi" scene with the laser dots on Gretchen and Elliott.
And a great goodbye to those two… until El Camino!
Ain't no way this channel has under 2k subs
Its really good for that mnay subs
Thank you, Mr. Potato! Soon it will have more than 2k! 🤞
Thanks for the reminder of the amazing arc from this series. Truly incredible.
You’re welcome! Thanks for the comment!
I know Walt and Skyler’s last talk is supposed to be the most emotional part and it did a great job at that but for some reason that final flashback of Jane in el Camino almost brought me to tears. So good.
It was quite a surprise!
This video is great! I would have loved to see more characters like Bill Oakley, Bogdan, Danny Wormald, Wendy or Jack Welker.
Thanks. Indeed, those would have been great characters to include (plus Combo)! I do regret leaving them out!
Wow I was surprised to see that you only have 1.59k Subscribers! You made such a good video that goes in depth very well. Please keep what your doing I will definitely be there for when you UA-cam channel blows up.
I’m glad you’re here to help me grow!
Man they should've kept that final extended Gus BCS scene
Yeah!
Watching this, if they are going in chronological order there are a lot of major characters whose final scene is their death scene, if they are going in order of release the only once I can think of is Nacho.
I can think of another one too now, I am writing here so you know I didn't edit. Lalo, another guess.
Nacho is who I was looking for! Lalo is one of many who are briefly shown after their moment of death!
@@betterwatchtv Great video, I would say a dead body doesn't count, so I would add Lalo, but I would've missed Howard by own rules.
Gotcha! Indeed, if dead bodies count then there are lots we could add!
I’m guessing that either nacho or lalo is the character who’s final scene is his death
Yes, one of them (and only one)!
hey , great video! after watching everything in BB universe this was a fun reminder of all the characters. keep up the great content, and you are very underrated
Thank you! 🫡
Best timeline to watch
*_Breaking Bad_*
*_El Camino_*
*_Better Call Saul_*
*Slippin' Jimmy*
😂
11:28 actually, the last time we see Francesca is when Gene calls her and she takes the hidden money and tells him the news of Albuquerque, who and what happened to all the people he knew
I had also thought that, but that’s only for the “in-universe timeline.” In our timeline (episode release date), that actually happens in episode 11 (Breaking Bad) vs. this scene in episode 12!
You forgot to mention Nick, Victor,Tyrus, Arturo Colon, Lawson, Ira, Danny,Erin, and the old woman
@@betterwatchtv yeah Nick was just a background character pretty much, Tyrus buried Howard and Lalo while Victor was making sure Kim stayed calm
Danny was a key figure for Hector's wheelchair situation and the old woman Irene Landry I believe
@betterwatchtv I'm watching the breaking bad universe in order BCS first until the episode Fun and Games, Breaking Bad in its entirety, El Camino and now I'm going to watch the 4 final episodes of BCS
Oh wow. Enjoy!
Yep, sounds right!
Huel: You make good money, right?
Saul: Reasonably
😂 Missed opportunity!
Mr huel asking the most common sense questions
Indeed!
This was a well researched and incredibly well edited video! You’ve gained a new subscriber!
Thanks! I’m glad you’re here!
Mark Margolis' best role since he played "Cosner, just Cosner," madam's driver, in a Columbo episode.
I’ll have to check that out!
14:03 never clap for chuck ever again💀
Wait, doesn’t the normal scenes in better call Saul come before breaking bad, but the black and white scenes come after
Correct! I’ve got a different video that handles things in that order: ua-cam.com/video/xW-9IXpjGrY/v-deo.html
Everytime I watch Huell’s genuine question to Saul about why he does all his shady stuff really made me realize right in the middle of the show that Saul really was the bad guy.
Yeah!
One thing I wouldn’t understand is why tf Saul talked them down to 7 years then bck up to 86 😭
He realized that he'd rather have a relationship with Kim and stay in prison than be free but living a Kim-less life!
First watch in chronological order: First Better Call Saul (S1 EP1-S6 EP9), then Breaking Bad, then El Camino, and then Better Call Saul (S6 EP10-S6 EP13)
Second watch in chronological order: First Breaking Bad, then El Camino, and then Better Call Saul
Third watch in release date order: First Breaking Bad, then Better Call Saul (Season 1-4), then El Camino, and then Better Call Saul (Season 5-6).
Huh. Interesting!
Walts line you were always like this come from the fact he is taking jimmy at his word when he says his regrets are bad knees
Now was jinmy always like this to an extent yes. Bcs isn't a story about change its about failing to change for the better
For the most part jimmy is negatively progressing but is mostly regressing and the ending is sort of about jimmy proving even though he did become slippin jimmy with a law degree he could change peter gould said that j8mmy had earned back his humanity and wouldn't repeat his actions but he did also state he isnt sure he necessarily redeemed himself in the sense that he cant undo the damage he caused but in his mind he has finaly changed into a better person even if it's in a prison
Yeah, I think his actions during the hearing indicate personal growth. Thanks for watching and the great comment!
That’s how you watched everything the first time?? Or was this a rewatch?
@@betterwatchtv first time, the rewatches had me watching el camino after BB then the ending episodes of BCS
Interesting!
watch in release order. then wait about a year or two. then watch in chronological order
I like that! 💯
I havent finish the video yet, but Im guessing jacks death is the character whos death scene is their final scene
Damg bruh i was wrong
Well, my bad for not including Jack! But I probably would have considered him a minor character anyway, somewhat like Werner Ziegler.
I think Jack and Werner are both more significant characters than Crazy 8, Emilio, Kayley and Stacey. Great video though! @@betterwatchtv
@@betterwatchtv I don't know about minor character, he is the final antagonist after all...
@@knowledgeanddefense1054He doesn't belong to the main characters list made by the creators
"Incredibly there's only one major character whose final scene is the moment they die."
I mean when you think about it, that's quite obvious with the second series being a prequel. It's in its nature to show characters before they died.
I guess! Although prequel characters like Chuck, Lalo, or Howard could have fit this description but don’t!
@@betterwatchtv True.
then the events of men in black 3 happen 2 years later. memories of that life erased from our minds.
🤣
ReWatched Breaking Bad for umpteenth time then watched Better call Saul for 2nd time. Saul was a must better watch with Breaking Bad fresh in my memory.
These 2 shows hav the best character development of any show I’ve ever seen on TV. The way the writers answered questions about how these characters got to where they were in Breaking was brilliant. Even characters like Crazy 8. For some reason this character intrigued me. Seemed like a good dude deep down. It explains why (when Hank & Steve find 8’s car) they assume somebody “croaked they’re snitch”. Brilliant
Yes!! The Breaking Bad characters in Better Call Saul are what inspired me to start this channel: ua-cam.com/video/-1GnjSQGp9w/v-deo.html
You forgot about Jack, who’s last scene is also his death
True, I hadn’t considered him to be a major character, but I probably should have! Thanks!
@@betterwatchtvFair enough tho he’s probably more important than Ernie lol
Fair! I probably had some recency bias with Better Call Saul, and thinking about the fact that Ernie spanned multiple seasons!
should of done this in chronlogical order
Check out ua-cam.com/video/oNXY1mi0RgU/v-deo.html and let me know what you think! That one is in in-universe chronological order since it’s about character endings. This one is about the last scene from our point of view, so release order made sense to me!
You should do a version where we see the first scene in cronalogical order
I do have that on my list to do one day!! I’ve just been so busy with the weekly episode breakdowns that I haven’t gotten to some of these other ideas. Thanks!
We don’t really need commentary here. Just saying.
Sure. I’m not used to doing a “clips only” video and UA-cam also really doesn’t want people doing that.
I expected this to be chronologically placed, instead of in order of episodes.
Gotcha. I was doing based on real-world release dates. It seemed more interesting to me, but I could do it the other way, too!
Goodbye Mrs. Kettleman... er... I mean, all the Breaking Bad characters.
Hahaha. Should Craig be worried?
Somehow it seems to me that Jesse was more of a son than Flynn was to Walter White.
Indeed!
Wow, well done. This is my first video and I think you were outstanding. Smart, well written, well spoken and I do love it when the narrator has good grammar. In addition I love it when the scenes are clear and concise
I will subscribe and a look forward to more videos. 😊
Woo-hoo! Thank you so much! Grammar has always been important to me!
@@betterwatchtv Glad to hear that.
Haven't watched the video, but who else than Nacho Varga?
I have to check if I'm right.
Nobody else!
I was never as glad to see someone get killed than hector
He certainly did despicable things! Gus kind of overshadows his death, though!
