I love that nurse detail! These are the kind of obscure details I'm here for! Jesse slipping in that Brock was poisoned reminds me of when he told Tuco the new ingredient was chili powder. Walt was probably on the rooftop instinctively rolling his eyes with no idea why lol! Another reason Gus might have been suspicious was how calm Jesse was and the fact that he wasn't blaming him or Walt. He's seen how Jesse reacted to the involvement and death of a child before so this could have been an indicator that he was working against him with the only other logical suspect.
I know we're not up to season 5 yet, but the bomb reminded me of the only real plot hole I know of. Whenever Walt called his neighbor to check on the oven in his house to lure out Gus' men, he hadn't cleaned up the bomb making equipment until after that had happened
Ah! I hadn’t thought about that! The neighbor thing happens in the next episode then the cleanup happens in 0501. I’ll have to check to see how obvious the mess looks!
@@Chinchilla2310 To be fair, Walt had been fired by that point, though I suppose his neighbours might've not known this, either way, it would only be apparent as bomb materials to someone with the knowledge and context of everything that happened.
Maybe Becky thought Junior was the one who made a mess of the kitchen! 😂 But it’s also a risk since the henchmen who broke in could have noticed and warned Gus about a bomb!
@@betterwatchtv I loved ‘Madrigal’ because I loved small subplots that turn into huge events, and how differently Lydia acts in that episode from BCS. Mike’s murder of Chris was definitely a kinda weird thing to watch at first, but after learning his role and the other scenes he’s in, it kinda felt like a ‘Thank you for paying attention’ from Vince. And I love ‘Confessions’ just because of that last scene. I still get goosebumps watching it. Edit: I also loved the focusing on Chow’s face during that scene. Mike did to Chris what Chris did to Chow. Like some weird ouroboros.

Thank you so much!! Subscribing, watching, liking, and commenting are fantastic ways to support the channel! Especially since the subscriber count is what people seem to use to judge a channel's worth.
I do follow the logic of gus figuring out that something isnt right after the conversation which is why he kidnaps jesse next episode... but one thing about the whole thing that bugs me on rewarch is that jesse had it right in this episode on how walt posioned brock... but next season when he "figures" it out before the cleaner comes... he already knew the answer and acts like it is new information... for a brillent deduction he seems quick to forget
He correctly guessed that when Huell patted him down he stole the cigarette, but he had no way of knowing, Huell lifting the weed off him confirmed that Huell is capable of pickpocketing things so that confirmed to Jesse that Huell patting him down was him taking the cigarette.
@octodaddy877 it probly is confirmation cause he didn't believe huel was capable of it but it is like he got 95% their and than abandoned his train of thought
@betterwatchtv well actually now that if I think about it... I think he didn't believe huel could life the cigarette until he confirmed it during the drop off... plus at the time he might have differences with walt but he didn't believe walt was capable of hurting a child.... until season 5 were he saw how little walt was affected by Drew's death... I don't have concrete evidence but that theory makes some sense
My favorite part of this video was when they said for real drug sniffing dogs, they have to plant drugs so the dog doesn’t lose its motivation. I think that is just tremendous. Imagining the cops telling the dog they have to go on a mission, and he’s like “ahhh come on, I’m not gonna find anything anyway!”
11:47 Would you ever consider looking into the theory that Gus has bird telepathy? 😂 I’ve seen a couple convincing arguments that Gus is able to communicate with birds telepathically and use them to spy for him, giving him information that would otherwise be tough to explain. This scene is a primary example, you see a bird fly by and then Gus immediately decides to stop and leave. The bird is on its way to warn Gus! I do not think it is a “real” theory, but there’s way more correlation/causation than you’d think! It’s definitely my favorite crazy conspiracy theory I’ve ever heard about a show, and it might be fun to do a pseudo-intellectual dive into such a cuckoo bananas concept.
i dont know if in all episodes, but according to screenrant i believe the name of the channel was, the prop money has vince's face on it so maybe thats our mysterious face
You totally nailed it on Gus's behavior when he decided not to get into his car. That's when he just realized he was being played somehow. And you notice right after that, the henchmen don't treat Jesse so respectfully anymore
Yep, I do mention that in next week’s script! At the time of writing, they weren’t 100% sure they were going to get another season. (They knew by the time they filmed, though.) And I’ve picked up hints that *if* it needed to be the last episode, they were prepared to work in Hank finding out somehow.
@@betterwatchtv Thats the reason the beginning of season 5 felt pointless too me, like they had already concluded everything important, but I was wrong since season 5 turned out to be a way better ending, although much darker.

Another reason Gus might have been suspicious was how calm Jesse was and the fact that he wasn't blaming him or Walt. He's seen how Jesse reacted to the involvement and death of a child before so this could have been an indicator that he was working against him with the only other logical suspect.
Haha, yeah! That's a very good point. Gus could have been thrown off by his overall vibe in addition to anything specific about the poisoning.
Finally someone explains why Gus turned away from his car with a believable answer! Makes perfect sense
Happy to help!
im honestly kinda glad i stumbled across this channel, absolutely perfect to binge watch for some reason
Awesome! I'm *very* glad you found it! My goal was indeed to make the videos binge-able!
Maybe the goons thought it was baking or something
He is/was a chemistry teacher, maybe they just thought it was a practice run for something he wanted to demonstrate in class?
@@Chinchilla2310 To be fair, Walt had been fired by that point, though I suppose his neighbours might've not known this, either way, it would only be apparent as bomb materials to someone with the knowledge and context of everything that happened.
Maybe Becky thought Junior was the one who made a mess of the kitchen! 😂 But it’s also a risk since the henchmen who broke in could have noticed and warned Gus about a bomb!
Honestly one of the most underrated BB episodes. My other favorites would be ‘Confessions’ and ‘Madrigal’.
Wow, interesting choices!! It says something about the quality and consistency the show when people have so many different favorites! (Also, first! )
Love it. Yeah, the Chris reuse is cool, and I do love how Confessions so cleverly warps things!!
If I'm going to be honest, your videos have been so helpful to me. I have terrible depression and I've been forsaken by so many people in my life, all I have to enjoy and love is the internet. Your videos give me something entertaining and it helps me get away from my terrible life. Thank you man.
I'm so sorry to hear that, but thankful I can help in some small way! May you find better people to surround yourself with who deserve your time and attention!
I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when you finish making these videos. I love your content so much! This has been such a fun journey over the last few months. Please do BCS next :D
Haha, yes I'll do BCS next (while trying to somehow do Severance in parallel), plus there are lots of one-off BB topics I want to do. So there's probably years of Breaking Bad Universe content still to go!
@@betterwatchtv Oh that's damn good to hear my friend. We appreciate you!
And I appreciate you! Thanks for being here to watch!!
Your videos are so unbelievably good. Also with the subtitles!! Love it
Thanks! I'm glad you noticed. I spend a lot of time on the subtitles, because it's important!
9:49 mike also tell tyrus "if gus has a problem he can come to me himself" in better call saul. around the time lalo is in albuqurque.
Oh yeah!! I'll try to remember to bring this up when I get to that BCS episode! Thanks!
I love how simple your explanation of how Gus knew to avoid the trap was.
I've seen people theorize that he's psychic because of that scenario
the bald shine
Oh no! I just finished binge watching the entire playlist now I have to wait :( These are so great! Love the insights on all of the BTS stuff!
Well I'm glad you found the channel! Maybe you'll enjoy the weekly cadence!
1:34 the moment jesse mentions this specific plant in the next episode was when i connected two and two. Moment i saw the plant again i cheered because i guessed it right, and then i stopped cheering because the realization sunk in that walter had poisoned brock 😂
Haha, that’s really funny! But well done!
i actually cant believe how simple that explanation was for how gus knew literally blew my mind
Woo-hoo! Thanks!
Gus's stare sees and knows all.
That's very true! I'm planning to mention that in the next episode (without giving the BCS spoiler). I suppose it could apply to Jesse as well!
it's great seeing your channel grow so much, especially the amount of members
even though i probably won't be one i just wanna say that your videos always make my day and i appreciate the thorough research you do on these
keep up the amazing work 🙏
Thank you so much!! Subscribing, watching, liking, and commenting are fantastic ways to support the channel! Especially since the subscriber count is what people seem to use to judge a channel's worth.
he didn't have to know it was a trap, he just had to think it might be a trap
Great point! I guess “know” and “knew” are too strong!
this channel is great u are incredibly talented. very entertaining and even feels interactive in a way. keep it up man
Thanks so much!! I'll try!
Oh, I’ll have to rewatch that!
I’m once again impressed with your eye for detail, keep up to great work!
Thanks, Alex!!
Hahahaha 🐶
11:47 Would you ever consider looking into the theory that Gus has bird telepathy? 😂
I’ve seen a couple convincing arguments that Gus is able to communicate with birds telepathically and use them to spy for him, giving him information that would otherwise be tough to explain.
Season 4 is the best season of breaking bad, nothing else compares to how perfect the arc was written
Most people seem to agree with you (based on a poll I did awhile back)!
cannot wait for your coverage of face-off, seems as though each new episode you make tops the last, im sure it will be amazing!
I don't know, but I hope it turns out well!
Anytime Walt laughs in a serious situation it’s not something he can’t control. He just finds it really funny.
Oh, interesting! I'll have to notice that more! Thanks!
@@betterwatchtv oh no I was kidding 😭. Lmaoooo
Oh! Okay!
these always come out just as i get off work, love them
Nice!!
i dont know if in all episodes, but according to screenrant i believe the name of the channel was, the prop money has vince's face on it so maybe thats our mysterious face
Yes, someone else said they heard the same thing in an interview! I guess I shouldn't be surprised!
what an amazing episode! I didnt even remember it being this dramatic! Also well done with the video!!
Thanks! Yeah, lots of tension! (Although I think I magnified it with the pacing of the edits I did to the initial Jesse/Andrea scene!)
I don’t think Gus knew, I think he realized there was an opportunity to rig his car, and decided to play it safe and get home another way.
Fair enough! I think "knew" was a bit strong.
@@betterwatchtv I forgive ya bb
🙏
Awesome episode, and happy to have made the contribution
🎉🎉🎉 Thanks again!
welp, i’m all caught up with your series! i’m seriously considering becoming a member for those early episodes
Nice!! 💥
Gus and his criminal empire feels like a final boss for the series finale. Did Giancarlo Esposito won an Emmy or was nominated?
Nominated but never won (same as Bob Odenkirk). 😔
Another great episode! Love from Texas!
Thanks! I was just in Dallas about 2 weeks ago!
You totally nailed it on Gus's behavior when he decided not to get into his car. That's when he just realized he was being played somehow. And you notice right after that, the henchmen don't treat Jesse so respectfully anymore
fun fact for face off!! it was meant to be a series finale im pretty sure.
@@joellundkvist1308 The problem was the show (as TV tends to go) was improvised as they went. They found an incredible villain in Giancarlo's performance, but the intent was always for Walt to be the villain by the end.
new viewer, just finished binging the other episodes, very well timed upload
Wow, awesome! Thanks for doing that and being here!
It’s over Mineral gang 😭

I love that they didn't end up explaining the mummified hand in BCS. They totally could've and it probably would've been funny, but I love that there's still just this crazy unexplained history to Saul, just like Lalo and Ignacio were before BCS.
Yeah, maybe if it was less subtle, they would have felt compelled to give it a backstory!
8:17 one of countless little touches that make these so darn fun to watch
Haha, thanks!! I try!
Man it's so sad that this series is coming to an end. I really watched your channel grow over this series and your editing techniques getting better. But you already said after this will be better call saul details!
Thank you!! Yes, so we’re not even half-way there! (Even Breaking Bad Hidden Details has 4 more months! )
Hello from Germany btw ^^
I love all these references in BB and BCS :D

It took me til the end of season four:
Thanks for joining!!
Never liked how attached Jesse got to Andrea & Brock. Jane hadn’t even been dead for 6 months at this point plus he’s 90% the reason she died 7:05
Fair!
No way, I disagree! I can easily see how Jesse would find his relationship with Andrea considerably more valuable by virtue of it not being a drug-fueled binge - I think it's possible that he looks back at his time with Jane in a negative light
I just watched this show for the first time :D its so great to see youtubers still making new videos about it.
That’s awesome! It’s great to see people discovering the show for the first time!!
Seeing Walter on top of a city's roof reminds me of 2008 The Dark Knight. Rest in peace, Heath Ledger.
Ah, yes! RIP 🙏
@@betterwatchtv So many fantastic iconic actors in less than half a century were gone too soon. But we can appreciate that they were able to perform at all on camera for future generations to enjoy. 🥹
Well said.

Walter was bluffing, because he only makes himself look bad when he’s lying to manipulate

Another Sunday night, another breakdown. Hell yeah, feels good to follow this series religiously
It feels good to have you here!
0:38 , I find it interesting. Too little, too late, absolutely. But Walt is being genuinely humble in this scene. Unless its manipulation, however, someone like Marty Byrde from Ozark is actually doing this for his family unlike Walt.
Yeah. I do think it’s genuine, though! And it seems like he’s waiting to die while in his backyard before he gets the idea!
The comparisons between BB and Ozark are so fascinating.
Yeah!
