Given that the new Avatar won't have their previous lives to consult with, I think the core theme of this series should be exactly that. Not knowing what to do and who to consult. That's extremely relatable to many people, and that ties in to the natrual elemnt of that Avatar being earth, as he/she should learn to be sturdy and strong minded.
@@TheApollonian I watch the Korra show when was "new" , still dont like it, she sucks and is so fucking stupid, 2 good things in the show, the villains and avatar wan episodes.
I do think the avatar state needed to be nerfed, but Korra went the wrong way about it. Rather than having an instant connection, avatar connections should be more gradual and take effort. The avatar state should be like learning a new element, not an instant power up. Aang is much better than Korra here. Let the new avatar take a lot of effort to recover the avatar connections.
If he/she struggles with bending fire wouldn't that correlate with not having any will. Similarly Aang struggled with earth bending as he was running away from things his whole life. Korra struggled with air bending because she lacked patience. I think it's really fitting for the new avatar to struggle with fire relating to people struggling with having will or drive.
I think it will be most interesting to see someone struggling to waterbend. As we’ve already seen Aang struggling with fire bending as it was his last element. Similarly water would be her/his last element and both Aang and Korra were naturals. Plus he would be unfamiliar with water if he came from a rural/or sand prominent area.
On one hand I’m still sad about losing yet another avatar and having to see beloved characters dead or old but on the other hand.. This dude sounds like he’s bout to be the most relatable avatar to watch while in my 20s
@@joesunday199 I’m just hoping we don’t just get the stereotypical pretty boy male character model. Give us an interesting and less-common main character body type like arcane male characters. An actual rough and sturdy earthbender character would be a nice change of pace for a main character. Also, I hope they break the theory that all of the avatars prefer women with this one😂 I present to you: Avatar: The Last Gay Bear
The new avatar would most likely be a kyoshi situation where there is a fake avatar since it is kinda a running gag that the earth kingdom suddenly gets plunged into chaos before they have the next avatar and the earth kingdom also seems like it has the least amount of spiritual connection
if they plan a Kyoshi series they probably WONT do that... since it's already a bit part of her story... but if a Kyoshi series is NOT intended, they might do it and simply 'call back' to Kyoshi as precedent. So it depends on their plans.
an Earthbending avatar with metal and glass-bending in a modern city setting lends itself for some beautiful and badass scenes. I'm imagining skating and 'gliding' over glass windows and train rails.
i hope he has a sibling in this cause korra and aang didnt have that and i feel like it could be cool like his sibling being jealous that he got all the attention of being the avatar or something
That would just be another sibling drama problem we already have that in Korra and Atla, i think a conflict of siblings with jealousy is too overdone, how about one of the motivations the next avatar has is their family, since korra didn't seem to care about her family (i'm not saying she didn't care, but she kinda easily brushes them off thinking they can handle themselves + their little to no screentime). And considering Aang's considered family the air nomads died it will be interesting to highlight such dynamic in avatar.
@@crystaluwu1012 that's true but I still think it would be cool to see yes we already have sibling drama but I feel like it could be cool and showed different if the sibling was the avatars sibling not just siblings in the main group if I explained that correctly
I always loved the idea of the avatar having a twin. Like what would that mean for the other kid would they possess unique powers, maybe have access to the avatars energy bending as they have a similar spirit
@@crystaluwu1012 i agree. maybe such a sibling wouldn't be jealous, at least not in the envious sense, but in the sense of becoming insecure of their own worth and abilities and their own struggle to help their avatar sibling.
The earth bender avatar might not be a passionate person if he/she struggles with fire. Korra was hot headed so she struggled with air which she needed to be a lot calmer and spiritual to master it. Ang struggled with earth because he always wanted to run away from his problems and responsibilities hence why he struggled with earth which requires one to take on stuff head on.
@@willbrewer242That’s not why. Fire is the element of drive/willpower. To struggle with that element, the new Avatar would have to struggle with ambition and discipline
Is it an unbreakable rule that the avatar must struggle with one element? I think we can start with him mastering the four elements and then dealing with bigger problems for him/the world
@@Brandon-9 i agree with this, its like, do we need to see spiderman/batman’s origin story with every film? No. Maybe if it started with him having learned at least two elements already prior to the start, and he has to learn the fourthon the fly whilst dealing with some world threat
Given that earth benders have had a tendency to be some of the strongest benders with Togh and king Boomy being prime examples I think we can look forward to a very powerful Avatar. Additionally, earth bending has some of the strongest, and most accessible alternative bending styles with metal and lava bending being incredibly powerful and a lot of people using metal bending.
this is exactly what ive been saying.... the avatar loosing her connection to the past lives did not irruperably destroy the franchise lore...it gave way to new opertunities for conflict and writing that just so happens to fit the nerrative of the themes. at first i was not fond of the technological leap in korra....but that got me thinking what if this new world has advanced to a point where bending is slowly being forgotton...imagine a world were fewer and fewer benders are being born as mankind begins to rely more on spiritual powered technology...they might be physically close to spirits now but they could devolope something of a personal block as traditions a phylossphy slowly dies out. the new avatar could set out to reistablish the cultural and spiritual roots of the nations, and what better way than to gain insite in the lives of avatars past? and since humans can now cross over into the spirit world the connection to the avatars can be restored.
I think that the second season wasn't even the worst in Korra. Unalaq was a compelling villain and the whole Rava Vatuu story was kinda interesting to me ngl, aside from that the battle would've been epic had it not been a bit too silly. In my opinion season 4 ruins it. The funny thing is I really like the entire Kuvira arc up until the FINAL episode. I feel like the writers of the show ran out of their budget or just got bored because man that episode is BAD. Like, a giant robot that had never been revealed before, really? Mosquito robots called humming bots, WHAT? The avatar having to use the airbenders, most of which are like 12 years old, as a sort of taskforce against the robot giant and actually succeeding despite Kuvira having been tactically gifted before that moment? Oh and Korra and Asami random deciding to date despite not having shown any romantic interest in each other before? The thing is, this would all be fine to me. It WOULD all be fine if it wasn't the last episode. They, in my opinion, destroyed at least 2 years of hard work with that moment and that's coming from someone who was willing to defend the show up until that single episode. Funny thing is, I even asked myself "the show's been great so far. What's possibly going to make me hate this show in one last episode?" And boy do I regret that statement.
Exactly plus people will complain how OP avatar state is with all past lives. It'll ruin storytelling and future villains. Aang kept using it as crutch instead of facing his problems.
@@BiG-JuPO1O1 when did aang ever use it as a crutch? 90 percent of the series he wasnt even capable of intentionally going into the avatar state and he went to great lengths to avoid it because the idea of it scared the hell out of him. the only two times in the series he deliberatly meditated into the avatar state is when that idiot general pressured him into it by almost killing katara and when he was desperate from both zuko and azula overwhelming him. every other time was an unwarrented reflex resulting from intense trauma or emotion.
@@dakotastein9499 He always used as crutch to get out of situation many times instead of using it as last resort. If not that, he always runs away avoiding problems and conflicts that needed to be dealt with. It stunted his character growth at the end of series and writers didn't want that to be repetitive occurrence for Korra and now another avatar. It makes sense why they tone it down for the avatar state.

I have two theories. 1. If Korra remained Avatar because Rava was still a part of her and technically Rava has been with every incarnation of Avatar, then it means this new Avatar can find a way to connect with his passed lives because he has the same spirit they did. 2. If Avatar continues into more modern technology times, something must happen that completely destroys the fabric of society, enacting a reset and reemphasizing the point of the avatar.. think about it like an apocalyptic war that almost ends civilization as we know it and a rebuilding is needed. And this war happening when an avatar dies and within the first 10 years of a new Avatar's life where the Avatar is hidden. It would make sense with showing relevance of the avatar without relying too much on technologies
@@TK_Raz You have a good thing going on here. My take would be, not advance thechnology in the world too much with Earth Avatar. Make Korra have a warriors death, use the spirit technology and the newly formed portals to the spirit world, plus the separation of the Earth Kingdom and turn them into a Cold War Scenario. Maybe the Avatar is some sort of infiltrator and "weapon" for one of the factios that arise. White Lotus, maybe, and make them do superhero stuff with their team. When, inevitably, the war destroys the planet, the new Avatar arises as a Fire Nation, or just Fire which rebuilds society.
As far as which element an Earth nation avatar would have difficulty with, I think it would be air. Earth benders seem to be fairly in touch with anger so fire wouldn't be that difficult; they're grounded and stable so they could learn the power and flow of water; but air is the least tangible and requires a level of detachment and serenity.
That still depends on if the Earth Nation Avatar’s personality actually matches earth. The original ATLA was able to get away with cliche personalities based on the elements because it was the first story of its kind. 3 generations in, I think we should expect the Avatar to have a very different personality than their element.
@@VirixPhilia That is indeed possible, but unlike the air nomads that grow up in temples teaching meditative discipline, Earth nation kids grow up in families with the culture and earth bending is one of their primary ways of having fun too, so it's a safe bet that the Avatar will start with those values. It's all speculation until he's revealed.
@@eyebrid Good point you’ve brought up, but considering how far into the future we are, I don’t wanna say everyone in the Earth Kingdom will be living in a small village. Now that you mention the Earth Kingom culture, I now realize we don’t even know if the next Avatar will be born in an Earth territory at all considering how many people have been moving around since LOK (especially those who were fleeing from Kuvira…) It would be kind of an interesting twist to have the next earth bender avatar be born in the Fire Nation, and have everyone assume they’re just a fire bender because they’re all waiting for the Avatar to be born in the Earth Kingdom. Now that’s an interesting dynamic and could cause some political tension in the story, too!
I think he should have trouble with water. It has to go with the flow and redirect itself. I think this may be good for him because he’s going to most likely struggle with trial and error allot because of not having his past lives to advise him. This could go for air or water buttt I don’t like the idea of him having the same challenge as Korra.
I think it's ikki ( the third child if I remember correctly) that should be the new avatar's master. Also I want the new Avatar to be able to do dust stepping like kiyoshi
I think expecting Tenzin's kids to be around during the Earth Avatar's time might be slightly optimistic. Remember that Katara and Toph were only around as Aang died relatively young after having spent a 100 years in the iceberg. According to the creators, the avatars can live for 100-250 years, the oldest being Avatar Kyoshi who lived for over 200 years. It's possible that Korra will outlive most people and when she passes on the new Avatar would likely be with Tenzin's grandchildren instead. I also think the show should let go of the influence and premise of Aang and his family and move on entirely. It would be nice of Korra's descendants instead to be with the new Avatar.
Past avatars leave marks on the world. Kyoshi defeated a warlord, made an island, and started a girl warrior clan there. That's what we learn from the series. How many people know that she also created the Dai Li?
@@TheBeastCH yes Aang’s impact will always be there. What I mean is having the characters of ATLA or their descendants take a leading role in the Earth Avatar’s story
@@madhuvjk Bolins children with Opal would still be descendants of Toph. And the new avatar needs someone to teach him or her airbending. And there are characters already established who might be in an apropriate age for that already around and generally liked by the fans. I'm not saying it's impossible to just introduce new characters for that, but given the opportunity, I think it's unlikely. Perhaps it will be Rohan, Tenzins youngest, rather than Jinora. Having a grandkid of Mako show up and play an important role is absolutely in the realm of possibility, and I hope for something like that to happen. But going from what we know about canon, Korra will very likely not have children.
@@TheBeastCH That would be interesting to have an Airbending master that is not of the traditional Air Nomad culture. Perhaps he or she would be born in the fire nation!
Even without past lives, Korra feats in avatar state is still OP. She literally has metal bending, spirit bending, healing , physical energy bending which will be given to the newest avatar along with stronger Ravaa. I'll love to see new avatar bring in sand bending or glass bending like Kyoshi.
@@hueyfreeman6262 If you mean Unalaq, he more experience bender and neither was Korra trying kill her own uncle. @@BiG-JuPO1O1 Don't even talk to Huey bruh. I saw them in another comment section under a different avatar video where they literally said a comet-enhanced Ozai can defeat every TLOK villain lmao.
Just some guesses. Heads up. When he reconnects with the passed avatars, I'd say one of the avatars he'll communicate with is the one after Wan. Because they would share the common ground of only communicating with only one previous avatar. His teachers would be as follows: Air: Jinora Water: Korra and Asamis adopted child Earth: Bolin and Opals child Fire: General Iroh The first season would be called Reconnections. And the enemy would be a Red Lotus survivor that bends purple flames like a waterbender. Trying to live up to Zaheers goal although having lost faith in him after his capture. His animal friends would be a badger mole. Named Gombo. And a fox antelope named Ping. Fire would be difficult for him because he would probably lack passion or drive. Most likely living in a cyber world with society giving its citizens a laid back lifestyle. Not preventing him from firebending but his fire would be weak like Zukos when he officially joined the gang.
I actually do want to see a more futuristic technologically advanced avatar series I liked the last airbend time span but legends of korra scenery was very refreshing to see and interesting seeing how more people had developed secondary bending forms and that also lead to alot of the development of the scenery I would love for a more advanced scene of course the spirits are able to roam around again but I feel that if the advancement is to little then it’s not going to feel like a new avatar story it’s just going to be him pick up korra story
they shouldnt stop inovation but the technology they make should be different from all worlds or atleast with a special twist u know? It can seem avatar but have advancments in technology
what i kinda would love...its a "far" future. like 2000+ years. and basicly everbody has forgotten about the elements and bending. its just fairy tails now. and then bam, suddenly the avatar reapears or something.
Restoring the avatar line as a plot point would be so awesome, the new avatar struggling with Fire bending would perfectly fit in that narrative. I mean Aang had to learn to respect fire as something living. He injured Katara and had to seek out the Dragons with Zuko to master it. Maybe finding the connection with Roku could give him the tools he need. But the same thing with Kiosi, who was the strongest Earth bender of her time. This will be so awesome!
We know that Aang once lost his Avatar connection when he died during the avatar state (or when he didn't learned to control the Avatar state idk) so they could like make a new Comic about Korra try to reconnect with the past lives from her and recap that comic later in the new Avatar series
i personally think the severing of the past lives didint destroy the lore,in the contrary it left a doorway up for new plots and stories. as king boomi would say "you have to open up your mind to the possibilities"
@@dakotastein9499 Yes i think so too i mean it would be cool if the last lives get restored but it doesn't need to Korra can bend energy because of Aang so the new Earth bender avatar can learn it from her
Honestly, I'd like it if this new earth avatar wasn't a typical earthbender, focusing more on sand and other similar things while struggling with solid earth. Sandbending hasn't gotten much of a focus, and it'd be really cool to see *the avatar* struggling with a lack of connection to both their past incarnations and their *main element*, that lack of a solid foundation that the avatar is fundamentally built on being reflected in their bending. When I first watched ATLA, I saw how earthbending worked, especially how Toph used it, and something stuck in my head. An Earthbender has to be solidly planted like the stone they control, but *what if someone can't do that*?
Here’s a idea, remember when Vatu became the dark avatar, imagine if somehow he transformed again. Also he has all four elements. Imagine him and the new avatar battling
That's exactly what I was thinking. Unalaq and Vatu merged, and we know Vatu never dies. So it must be reasonable to assume that Unalaq is the first and not the last dark Avatar, right?
@@erikeriks Unavaatu didn't have all 4 elements and besides, they died in the avatar state, which means their reincarnation cycle is officially broken.
Would be an interesting change if the new avatar started as a sub bender then had to learn traditional earth bending before moving onto the rest. We saw in the legend of korra that things had gotten way more diverse in terms of bending and bending styles. Would make an interesting twist if the earth benders lost thier connection to the earth bieng in such an industrial/advanced society
@@motiemo Yeah kinda agree with this. I'm a sucker for nostalgia but Avatar is all about the cycle and change among other things. Out with the old, in with the new - doesn't mean we forget about 'em.
6:48 It's impossible for the Avatar to have difficulty on bending their second element because it is a requirement for him to recognize as an Avatar. But it is possible for the Avatar to have difficulty on bending their third and last element at the same time. For an EarthBender, it is possible for him to have a hard time mastering Air and Water Bending skills.
Usually the avatar struggles most with the element the previous avatar excelled at. For Korra she struggled with air which aang mastered first, Korra mastered fire early on so I could see the earth avatar being a calm and collected person who struggles with the intensity it takes to use fire.
@@the11382 I have a feeling you had missed an ATLA episode on this. It is explained on that show that the Avatar MUST master the elements in ORDER, just like the 4 seasons- Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. That's why Aang completely failed to master fire when Jeong Jeong teach him because he hasn't learn Water and Earth discipline. He just firebend like an airbender.
@@connordrake5713 i think there was something about personality of the Avatar for example aang struggled with earth bending cause earth is solid and stubborn while he is much more relax person. Korra struggled at air cause air require one's to be pacifist and light relaxed etc..But she didn't struggle with fire bending cause fire bending requires one to be straightforward and intense.
@@connordrake5713 Part of the reasoning is the 'mindset' that Jeong Jeong talked about, too. Aang lacked the discipline that Earthbending provided, as well as the push-and-pull qualities of water. Since fire is 'alive', Aang needed to be able to keep the flames strong and prevent them from going wild.
I really really really 1000x really hope they use this story line. Great video man! I love the new lore, and cant wait for the new avatar content to come out. Keep it up!
According to Katara, earth was the most difficult element for Aang to master because it is the opposite of air, the element he was born with the ability to control. Just as it was more difficult for Roku to control water because it is the naturally opposite element to fire, his birth element. Under that logic, it should be particularly difficult for the new Avatar of the Earth Kingdom to control air, because it is the opposite of earth. We've already seen Aang use Airbending with ease and Korra struggle with it at the beginning, so I'd like the new Avatar to be a non-bender from Earth Kingdom. Someone who's never had bending and instead of seeing them struggle with one element in particular, we'll see them struggle with all of them.
I have an idea , I would love it if the avatar studios contacted the genji creators to hire some of them or ask permission to use their idea , cuz a sand bender avatar from the dessert counterfeit the fake avatar like a messiah is a really good story idea , this “messiah “ element can also start a path where the new avatar re-bonds with the past avatars …..it’ll be like the , fake celebrity avatar and what people see in the materialistic sense vs the real avatar on a spiritual journey to find balance within himself and within the past lives , it’s a great dynamic of what the “avatar “ is and what it actually mean to be THE avatar if that makes sense
People so concerned about past lives advice. Yangchen stated to Kyoshi that even if she tried to connect with her 1000 past lives she would still not be ready to lead the world into peace - she had to make her own decisions. Even Aang made his own decisions while defeating the Fire Lord instead of killing him. I really don't care about the new Avatar getting the connections back, the Harmonic Convergence plus Unalaq breaking the connections, it was pretty obvious the cycle was in some way reinitiated.
As someone who’s favorite avatar is korra, i cant wait to see adult korra guide the new avatar (and have to explain why shes the only one they can talk to 😂)
New avatar: What can I do past avatars? Korra: Hello New avatar: Wait where are the other avatars? Korra: What other avatars? Its just me New Avatar: I quit this shit ain't worth it..
Idk if I love or hate the cyberpunk avatar idea. Its genre is basically the opposite which will make it hard to pull off. But if it’s good it will probably go down as one of the best shows ever.
I would want him to have every bending ability every sub bending ability and every spirit ability and every energy bending ability for I believe the avatar is capable of everything that dark avatar unavaatu demonstrated on harmonic convergence
i like the idea of searching for his past lives and learning most of the sub bending techniques it would be cool to see a powerful avatar with a big arsenal
While I really like what I saw of the Genji fanfic and would like to see more, the official new Avatar probably shouldn't be like him, unless the official Avatar team buys it and turns it into cannon. That would be a copyright lawsuit waiting to happen. Korra mastered almost water, earth, and fire so easily as a kid that the new guy probably should struggle to learn all of them.
I hope the modern tech we get in the new Avatar series would be more like the tech in Atlantis: The lost Empire, familiar but at the same time so different due to the power sources available. Like the flying rock statues that the crystal necklaces could turn on like a car. I would prefer to see something similar in creativity rather than just a straight up ipad/tablet.
I hope the mission of the new avatar is to reconnect with past avatars, maybe a new threat that make the avatar seek the knowledge of past avatars in the spiritual world, and by doing that we can get to see their past memories and learn about theirs journeys
As for the element the avatar would struggle with I would presume to be water or air. Hung Ga, what Earthbending is based on is very sturdy with determined solid movements. Water and air are very fluid movements which are quite different than earth style. Such as Aang struggled with air with it being so different to air bending. But this logic didn’t really apply with Korra with air being her most difficult yet fire (her opposite in the cycle) came easy.
With the avatar cycle being broken it would actually be interesting to see the new Avatar being born a non-bender and perhaps trying to learn bending from the original masters (dragons, Badger moles etc) and still possibly not being able to do it, yet at some point is still able to enter the avatar state so is definitely the avatar. This would contrast Korra who learned the elements easily and at a young age and it would mean he'd have to fix Korra's destruction of the avatar cycle. You'd also be able to throw doubt into whether he's actually the avatar or a fake.
1. Until the Earth Avatar reestablishes the connection to the past lives, they won't be as strong as previous Avatars. 2. There's no confirmation whether the Earth Avatar will be male or female. If we look at the preceding three Avatars, it goes M, M, F, so the next Avatar being female would not be all that surprising. 3. Kyoshi already demonstrated that glassbending is canon.
@@x97k8 Raava contributes to the power of the Avatar States, yes, which is what we see for Wan and Korra post-S2. Unpopular opinion, but I actually think it would be far more interesting if they didn’t bring back the past lives. The whole theme was about letting and starting a new.
They should bring back the past lives !!! Otherwise this show is going to the mud. The past lives matter !!!! 1,000 years of wisdom and expect gone because Korra is a loser that cannot defeat just one villain, she didn't beat a single one of them. Useless avatar !!!!
It's going to be interesting to see how bending evolves in a world that's even more technologically advanced than Korra's time, I mean they mention it might be a cyberpunk-esque world. I hope Meelo gets to be the new Avatar's airbending teacher, would be a nice development and still retain some of his childhood mischief!
I would love if the only deviation that happens from the legend of genji, if at all the studio makes genji happen in reality that Vaatu somehow gets free and the dark avatar is being accepted as the new avatar. Would love to see Genji confronting him/her...
They may introduce hybrids, imagine benders with two elements, incorporating it, like fire and water to create a smokescreen. this will open a lot of posssibilities.
The worst element of the Avatar is the one that conflicts with his personality the most. Aang wasn't fierce and was more a run-and-dodge type so logically the opposite of that would've been the element of fire which stands for honor and courage when fighting above the protection of all living beings.
@@erikeriks You're not understanding this, it's not the opposite element of the original element for the avatar, it's their personality and how they connect themselves with the other elements. For Aang he struggled with fire and earth because he lacked confidence, and wasn't direct. Toph tried teaching him Metal bending and he couldn't do it, it's just not for him or his element of choice. He prefers water and mostly air.
There is something that I have to point out which you may have missed out on. I know for a fact that the next Avatar won't be able to connect with Korra according to one of the books (The Legend of Korra: An Avatar's Chronicle) as far as i remember. Therefore, Korra started to write letters for the next Avatar about her own journey, assuming that it might come in handy if he ever needed any advice. Honestly, It was something that confused me a lot, because when Vaatu destroyed the Avatar cycle and all the past Avatars just vanished, a new cycle was created making Korra the first Avatar within this cycle. So why wouldn't the new Avatar be able just to connect with Korra at least?
If the next Avatar series is going to live up to it predecessors the core narrative, theme and good storytelling for each season must be done right. First thing his story arc needs to be as good just like Aang & Korra s arcs as main characters , World Building is another thing they need to get right, the new team Avatar will have to be as memorable as ATLA & TLK , Villains are one of the most important things in the Avatar Franchise I hope they will create memorable and interesting villains to fight the new earth Avatar.
What "wrongs" did she do if u mean her losing the past lives it wasn't her fault they taken away from her the spirit portal open? Humans and spirits are coexisting what other "wrongs" did she do and didn't fix
I am most worried about the time period and the advancement of technology since I already didn't like the republic city and how bland it was. I really liked how different and spiritual every nation felt and looked in atla

Nothing was changed except further explanation of how the avatar state works. It makes sense to have Raava giving the avatar raw power for the avatar state. If we go by Roku who only said what HE KNEW not solely based on facts then it wouldn't make sense how first avatar goes into avatar state. Past lives don't everything and only knows what they seen and learned from their life time.
That would ruin the entire show because then you’d have to forget the new spirit portal was created, the air nation came back, republic city would never have existed, etc. It would ruin the entire plot for the next avatar to forget everything from legend of Korra.
as i was hearing you talk throughout the video, i was thinking the same things you were saying. i think this stuff is what most avatar fans think of. i really hope avatar studios also does!
"The next avatar might invent a new sub-bending type like glass bending" or they could re-discover the forbidden earth bending sub type; bone bending(more specifically calcium bending)
I want to see a City built by Airbenders. Obviously, not by Air Nomads. But by the Air Nation that didn't join the Temples. That would be cool in my opinion.
Im kinda late but, well, the felling we had watching LOK, after seeing all Aangs journey and how the world recognizes it is something special, very special I know that we all misses Avatar animations, but for me it shouldve ended in LOK
We also have to remember the avatars normally live over 100 years. We only saw old characters from the previous avatar because they were killed or lost years from being stuck in the avatar state. We honestly might not see any characters from l.o.k
[6:30] it is already lore established that avatars struggle with their anterior elements and can easily learn their forward elements. ergo anng struggled the most with fire, korra with air, and so on. There are avatars that can more easily learn the elements than others, such as anng vs korra, where anng had to travel a lot and met a lot of resistance, where as korra met almost none. as for the new avatar, I think he will spend a lot of time looking into the old avatars to solve long overdue disputes, as it is established with korra that the cycle was broken. I think what will be done is that since Vatu is spread throught time and shattered, each of the avatars unknowingly was battling a fragment of vatu and the new avatar will need to put them to rest using advanced techniques and bring balance to the unbalanced worlds, basically remake Vatu as a the chief guardian of the spirit world and Ravaa of the world of the living. Vatu isn't evil, just corrupted and grounded in reality, Ravaa is very idealistic and driven by virtues.
YES
Swear bruh. Aang got help with the most basic stuff like he was lowkey spoiled
she lost her avatar connection My god this girl jut keep failing Us
@@TheApollonian I watch the Korra show when was "new" , still dont like it, she sucks and is so fucking stupid, 2 good things in the show, the villains and avatar wan episodes.
If someone struggles with water bending , what does he lack?
@@Nocomment2-z He would lack the ability to change.
Every new Avatar struggles with previous Avatar's main bending, so it's obvious new one will struggle with water.
No Aang struggled with earth and Roku was before him.
On one hand I’m still sad about losing yet another avatar and having to see beloved characters dead or old but on the other hand.. This dude sounds like he’s bout to be the most relatable avatar to watch while in my 20s
I really hope that the new Avatar will be from one of the Sandbender tribes. Yes I am still in mourning for Legend of Genji 😢

Even if it’s not Genji, a sand bender who heats up his sand when he learns to firebend in order to bend molten glass would be sick.
@@tuxxle8830 I think a Sandbender actually from a Sandbender commune would be cool. Glassbending would be cool too.
@@joesunday199 I’m just hoping we don’t just get the stereotypical pretty boy male character model. Give us an interesting and less-common main character body type like arcane male characters. An actual rough and sturdy earthbender character would be a nice change of pace for a main character.

@@lenajohnson6179 well a movies coming soon about kyoshi in the next 1-2 years
an Earthbending avatar with metal and glass-bending in a modern city setting lends itself for some beautiful and badass scenes.
Like what would that mean for the other kid would they possess unique powers, maybe have access to the avatars energy bending as they have a similar spirit
legend of genji, he has a sister!
The new avatar may still have some challenges with fire bending because if unintentionally hurting someone
@@willbrewer242That’s not why. Fire is the element of drive/willpower. To struggle with that element, the new Avatar would have to struggle with ambition and discipline
So new avatar will be a lazy/chill earth guy? A hippie? I can dig it
Is it an unbreakable rule that the avatar must struggle with one element?
You forgot kyoshi
Its toph not togj
Togh
Kyoshi is the strongest Avatar ever let alone bender
this is exactly what ive been saying....
the avatar loosing her connection to the past lives did not irruperably destroy the franchise lore...it gave way to new opertunities for conflict and writing that just so happens to fit the nerrative of the themes.
at first i was not fond of the technological leap in korra....but that got me thinking what if this new world has advanced to a point where bending is slowly being forgotton...imagine a world were fewer and fewer benders are being born as mankind begins to rely more on spiritual powered technology...they might be physically close to spirits now but they could devolope something of a personal block as traditions a phylossphy slowly dies out.
the new avatar could set out to reistablish the cultural and spiritual roots of the nations, and what better way than to gain insite in the lives of avatars past? and since humans can now cross over into the spirit world the connection to the avatars can be restored.
It makes sense why they tone it down for the avatar state.
@@BiG-JuPO1O1 again he only deliberately (key word deliberately) goes into the avatar state twice (technically 3 times if you count the general forcing it out of him.) throught the whole series.
and as far as is eversion and running...how else would you expect an air nomad child to behave? avatar or no. avoid ,evade and reconsile is the way of the nomad. also he does that progressively less as the series goes on. as he begins to commit more to what needed to be done and fully take on a responsibility he never wanted to begin with.
where as korra had the oposite problem as she showed litttle restraint or patiance something she too overcame as she learned that as the avatar she was more than her bending and eventually embraced her spiritual side.
this is why i say its a prevelent theme in the franchise as part of its story, not a failing of the writing. in seeking balance and enlightenment...hense the overcompensaition and contrasts between different avatars
#2 makes me think .... Avatar vs Terminator? 🤣 Maybe technology bending?🤨
When, inevitably, the war destroys the planet, the new Avatar arises as a Fire Nation, or just Fire which rebuilds society.

past Avatars already gone lmao
@@SidiousEdits87season 2 already is so....
@@eyebrid
Good point you’ve brought up, but considering how far into the future we are, I don’t wanna say everyone in the Earth Kingdom will be living in a small village.
It seems traditionally the next avatar has trouble with the previous avatars main element
I think he should have trouble with water. It has to go with the flow and redirect itself. I think this may be good for him because he’s going to most likely struggle with trial and error allot because of not having his past lives to advise him.
This could go for air or water buttt I don’t like the idea of him having the same challenge as Korra.
A SOLO MOVIE ABOUT ZUKO?? Take it, take all of my money
Exactly! Would love to know what happened to his mum
I think it's ikki ( the third child if I remember correctly) that should be the new avatar's master. Also I want the new Avatar to be able to do dust stepping like kiyoshi
2nd child
2nd child Ginora is first, Ikki is second, Milo is third, Rohan is fourth
second born meelo is third
Rohan is more likely to meet the next Avatar because he has a better chance of living the next 100 years better than his older siblings.
Jinora, Ikki and Meelo are all close to Korra thou. I do think Rohan will be the Air Bending mentor to the new Avatar.

@@madhuvjk Bolins children with Opal would still be descendants of Toph. And the new avatar needs someone to teach him or her airbending. And there are characters already established who might be in an apropriate age for that already around and generally liked by the fans. Having a grandkid of Mako show up and play an important role is absolutely in the realm of possibility, and I hope for something like that to happen. But going from what we know about canon, Korra will very likely not have children.

Just some guesses. Heads up.
When he reconnects with the passed avatars, I'd say one of the avatars he'll communicate with is the one after Wan. Because they would share the common ground of only communicating with only one previous avatar.
His teachers would be as follows:
Air: Jinora
Water: Korra and Asamis adopted child
Earth: Bolin and Opals child
Fire: General Iroh

His animal friends would be a badger mole. Named Gombo. And a fox antelope named Ping.
Fire would be difficult for him because he would probably lack passion or drive. Most likely living in a cyber world with society giving its citizens a laid back lifestyle. Not preventing him from firebending but his fire would be weak like Zukos when he officially joined the gang.

sounds great
Would love to see this!
I actually do want to see a more futuristic technologically advanced avatar series I liked the last airbend time span but legends of korra scenery was very refreshing to see and interesting seeing how more people had developed secondary bending forms and that also lead to alot of the development of the scenery I would love for a more advanced scene of course the spirits are able to roam around again but I feel that if the advancement is to little then it’s not going to feel like a new avatar story it’s just going to be him pick up korra story
apparently it should be put somewhat in a modern times, so this will be very interesting... Avatar with a mobile phone
they shouldnt stop inovation but the technology they make should be different from all worlds or atleast with a special twist u know?
Kuruk always gets slept on.
In that world and this one.
The first avatar concept art was actually futuristic so I'm not surprised.

Woaw this is actually really nice ! Keep it up
Honestly, I'd like it if this new earth avatar wasn't a typical earthbender, focusing more on sand and other similar things while struggling with solid earth.
A sandbending avatar and then a sun warrior avatar would be awesome
Here’s a idea, remember when Vatu became the dark avatar, imagine if somehow he transformed again. Also he has all four elements. Imagine him and the new avatar battling
That's exactly what I was thinking. Unalaq and Vatu merged, and we know Vatu never dies. So it must be reasonable to assume that Unalaq is the first and not the last dark Avatar, right?

We saw in the legend of korra that things had gotten way more diverse in terms of bending and bending styles.
Avatars may not have to learn their elements in a specific order.
It was revealed in one of the novels that Kyoshi could glass bend
Didn;t Kyoshi already Glass bend?
yeah in the second book
I really really really 1000x really hope they use this story line. Great video man! I love the new lore, and cant wait for the new avatar content to come out. Keep it up!
I wonder if the fire avatar will be the end of the series

I've been waiting for this Avatar since Aang, Earth bending is one of my favorite ones.
As someone who’s favorite avatar is korra, i cant wait to see adult korra guide the new avatar (and have to explain why shes the only one they can talk to 😂)

Korra: Hello
New avatar: Wait where are the other avatars?
Korra: What other avatars? Its just me
New Avatar: I quit this shit ain't worth it..
sandbenders should be able to bend glass since its just melted sand
Glass isn't just melted sand; it's silica sand which is different from your normal composition. So not, not necessarily true.
I loved this video. Thanks for making it!!
Please one video for the legend of Vox machina
I swear u got me hyped ... Hope ur ideas r on point
Imagine if he learned how to give bending through energy bending 😮🤯😱
With the avatar cycle being broken it would actually be interesting to see the new Avatar being born a non-bender and perhaps trying to learn bending from the original masters (dragons, Badger moles etc) and still possibly not being able to do it, yet at some point is still able to enter the avatar state so is definitely the avatar. This would contrast Korra who learned the elements easily and at a young age and it would mean he'd have to fix Korra's destruction of the avatar cycle. You'd also be able to throw doubt into whether he's actually the avatar or a fake.
I hope they'll do something for this avatar gain his previous avatar memories back, maybe visit their temple to conect with them again
Past skill doesn’t make the avatar stronger 💀 raava is raw power already
@@x97k8 Raava contributes to the power of the Avatar States, yes, which is what we see for Wan and Korra post-S2. However, Raava also acts as a reservoir of all past Avatars' knowledge and the bridge connecting the current Avatar to their spirits. With all of that, the Avatar State is stronger than compared to just Raava.
@@falsevacuum4667 No, not contributes, is. Raava is the power source of the Avatar State, without her there is no Avatar State at all. Past Live's skill and experience did nothing to contribute to the overall power of the Avatar State.
Raava is at her full strength now since refusing with Korra. Meaning that that Korra's new Avatar cycle is way more powerful than any Avatar of the previous cycle.
@@deadlysilence7474 That's simply not true. Obviously there is no Avatar State without Raava and of course the primary source of power is her, but the past lives play an integral part of that cumulative ability. Go back and this to what Roku said.
@@falsevacuum4667
I remember what he said word for word, 'It was designed to empower you with the skills and knowledge of all the past Avatars. The glow is the combination of all your past lives, focusing their energy through your body.' That was the quote right? Now let's remember who was stronger, Vaatu at his full strength, or Raava with the past live's? Yeah, it was Vaatu.
So honestly which do you think is stronger, Raava at her full strength, or the weaker Raava with the past lives? Imma let you come to that conclusion yourself.
Feel like he should learn all elements and go into more energy bending
I just hope dante basco has a role in this series
You mean one bender carrying 2+ elements? That's literally impossible (except for the Avatar, obviously).
Exactly
@Iamputin-js5kt Avatar can bend all elements, hybrids can only bend 2 at the same time.
I can wait to see the new avatar
Forgive me if i am wrong, but didnt Aang struggle with fire due to some moral reasons
The worst element of the Avatar is the one that conflicts with his personality the most. Aang wasn't fierce and was more a run-and-dodge type so logically the opposite of that would've been the element of fire which stands for honor and courage when fighting above the protection of all living beings.
@@erikeriks And Earth
@@BiG-JuPO1O1 no, earth is opposite of water I'm not making this up it's in the show.
Doesn’t have to do much to be better than Korra.
@@xaviercopeland2789☠️ on god lmao
I can’t wait, I’m definitely watching the new avatar show 2023
Korra would be the worst avatar to get advice from 😂💀
frr
I mean she's the only avatar the new avatar can talk to so he/she doesn't have a choice
😂😂
nah if i was the avatar i would never go into the avatar state because of that
Fr
I really don't know about the other fans, but I completely support the narrator (him).I'm dying to know about the other uncommon previous avatar 💫😎.
Maybe... The next avatar will rewrite all the wrongs Korra caused? 😅
What "wrongs" did she do if u mean her losing the past lives it wasn't her fault they taken away from her the spirit portal open? Humans and spirits are coexisting what other "wrongs" did she do and didn't fix
@@leonardojames2770 They were taken away due to her incompetence.
@@vincentlee7359lol exactly
I am most worried about the time period and the advancement of technology since I already didn't like the republic city and how bland it was. I really liked how different and spiritual every nation felt and looked in atla
I wonder if the new Avatar can create golems. Breathe life into stone.
But the avatar doesn’t have to power to breathe life into anything
Although the comment above me is right the idea does actually have potential. Imagine if earthbenders used their bending in order to create complex structures like bird looking things, and control them as if they are soldiers to fight off enemies.
@@erikeriks but isn’t that still earthbending ? Like creating a sculpture and moving it , even though the avatar can bend energy , energy still isn’t soul and you need soul to create life …im not trying to argue btw it’s just an interesting topic
@@Tarikkb Here's an idea, what if they create golems and some spirits are willing to inhabit them and fight. (Yes I know most spirits don't want to fight human battles, but now that the portals are open again it opens up the potential for unique bonds between benders and spirits
@@MelioCai that can definitely happen , I just personally don’t like what they did with spirits in korra , they made them like humans , good vs bad …..I wish they would’ve stayed as mysterious entities hard to understand by humans and the audience
Maybe if genji is the avatar it might be one and only genji
I'm just worried that this new Avatar will be one big LGBTQ ad. Some not straight characters are ok, but not 80% of them (like in the series that this company worked on before, called dragon Prince or somthing like that)
That is such a weird take
Agreed, I prefer if they talked about an old Avatar who's realm would be reminiscent of ancient Asia
I wish they would forget the legend of Korra existed and unlearn everything they changed about the last airbender 😅
I would love that and actually that is still possible if they stop making future avatars and focus on stories of previous, unknown ones.
@@asimhussain8716 exactly
That would ruin the entire show because then you’d have to forget the new spirit portal was created, the air nation came back, republic city would never have existed, etc. It would ruin the entire plot for the next avatar to forget everything from legend of Korra.
as i was hearing you talk throughout the video, i was thinking the same things you were saying. i think this stuff is what most avatar fans think of. i really hope avatar studios also does!
He will learn all the sub bendings.
"The next avatar might invent a new sub-bending type like glass bending" or they could re-discover the forbidden earth bending sub type; bone bending(more specifically calcium bending)
There has never been a spirit in the Avatar crew so i think it would be cool if they included that
I want to see a City built by Airbenders. Obviously, not by Air Nomads. But by the Air Nation that didn't join the Temples. That would be cool in my opinion.
Im kinda late but, well, the felling we had watching LOK, after seeing all Aangs journey and how the world recognizes it is something special, very special
I know that we all misses Avatar animations, but for me it shouldve ended in LOK
I wish if one of the two spinoffs would be about uncle iroh
I always love this show since i was a 12 years old. Until now i love avatar story.
An avatar that is giving people Bending would be an interesting subplot
We also have to remember the avatars normally live over 100 years. We only saw old characters from the previous avatar because they were killed or lost years from being stuck in the avatar state. We honestly might not see any characters from l.o.k
I hope you apply as a writer for avatar studies. Love the reconnect with previous avatars idea and getting connected.
Thanks for the video. I'm so hypped by what is coming in avatar universe😤😀💪👌
Cant believe still no series about Iroh.
I PRAY that they will restore the connection bc that was sooo aggravating
There are so many past avatar that still never told yet.. they must have made a stories of every past avatar
This comment section is wild, cant believe people are still out here hating on Korra for no reason
Brilliant video.
