"Forbidden weapons? Forbidden combat techniques?" "Okay fine I see your point." "Forbidden ritual? Forbidden spiritual manipulation? It says here you created Dai Li so add forbidden propaganda to that. Also, should I place war crimes under forbidden strategies?"
Okay, but, Jianzhu was awesome. Honestly, if he didnt get on Kyoshi's bad side, he would have been one of the most effective leaders in Earth Kingdom History
Thank You! He did most of Kuruk's avatar job and kept peace and order in the Earth kingdom.Kyoshi herself admitted he was improving it.She even reluctantly inherited his ruthlessness when she decided to blackmail, threaten and sometimes kill her enemies. If she didn't hate him for personal revenge reasons he would have had more use.
I can get behind some ruthlessness in politics, but there was no reason to abandon Yun to his (presumed) death. A child he'd raised practically as his own. It was an absolutely brutal decision, and there wasn't even any real practical benefit to justify it. ETA: Unless you meant "awesome" in a villain sense, in which case I agree. He's extra compelling in that you can (usually) see where he's coming from and he had "good" motives for a long time.
It seems that Roku would be the first avatar to be less brutal than the past avatars. Im sure that when he had council with Kyoshi he likely disapproved her tactics to ending conflicts. Im sure Kyoshi told Roku thus forbidden technique she used and Roku likely may have forsaken her. Roku would be more merciful, as we see innthe animated series as he gives Sozen a fair warning to prevent any conflict between them and other nations.
Honestly Roku's pacifism (or pacifism in comparison to Kyoshi), could've been his greatest downfall as well. I don't Sozin would've gotten as far as he had, and the Air Temples wouldn't have fallen. But in contrast, I could see the battle between benders and non benders happening sooner. Or even a battle between benders and the Avatar for their cruelty. Wanting the Avatar to be under a united nation's-like rule instead of making decisions themselves.
Interesting... This would also make her one of the most powerful blood blenders known to the avatar world... If I'm understanding it, she takes the water from your very blood and then condenses it so tight and freezes it all the way to the point to where its smashes out of your back... Ripping flesh and bone as it goes through... Creating giant crimson wings kind of like a blood eagle. I really like this ability it's very bad ass, and the fact that Kiyoshi knew it just shows on the type of avatar she is.
Honestly, it is a no-brainer. Likewise, logically, earth benders should be able to rip out bones, since they are made of minerals that they can control. Air benders should just kill people instantly? Why? Vacuum. Vacuum == no atmospheric pressure == blood begins boiling internally. Avatar suffers from “Harry Potter” syndrome, where the show is about child soldiers going through war, but completely dismissed the real horrors of what that entails. Likewise, very few shows depict how super powers would act on human body. It is only a recent trend with “Invincible” and more notably “The Boys” that depict those abilities well enough. For example, In Gen V, blood benders just explode people to bits, among other things they can do.
Nah, its not blood bending at all. Just a healing technique that lowers your body temp. Its super easy to screw up, and if you do it flash freezes your organs. Pretty much any advanced water bender could do it if they learned how.
Same with any bending. Earth bending - rip out all bones, since they are made of minerals. Air bending - create vacuum and kill people with explosive decompression. For those who don’t know - no air/atmospheric pressure == blood’s boiling point lowers to body temperature == all of your blood turns into vapor internally == death. That is how early jet pilots and unlucky space explores died. Fire bending - instead of casting fire ball, just create fire inside your opponent. Body will explode Superman-style, since it’s internal temperature just got raised by a few thousand degrees, causing all of it’s contents to evaporate. Logically any bending should be “instant-kill”. The show is very kid friendly, which is what results in this gimmicky non-lethal balance. However, powers in Avatar universe got nerfed so hard, to the point where real life firearms and explosives are just 9/10 times better.
curious question : imagine if the water bender put a poison in the water it used, wouldn't that made the ice blade that shoot out of the water more deadly (in case it scratched your skin and such), also would poison even works as well, especially the more watery type of poison ?
Kyoshi whispered: "I'm sorry I said you had to live with your pain" Yun moved close to her to hear her more clearly Then she said "... because you won't"
It's crazy to think that this was one of Aang's previous lives. Just makes me wonder how brutal an Avatar could get considering the fact that there were hundreds of them, each with different personalities and morals.
You should read the books to get full context on why Kyoshi did that and what happened afterward But if you wanna know how brutal or ruthless an Avatar can be, I recommend reading The Dawn of Yangchen and The Legacy of Yangchen
Water and Air bending on the scale of the Avatar are the most dangerous forms of bending one allows you bending very blood within people and the other allows you to take the air out of their lungs … that’s some scary shit
Water was always so OP in TLA, it was fortunate that it was the fire nation (that literally everyone had some defense against) that became the militaristoc expansionists.
She should not have killed the person as he was still able to be saved from himself. She should have just used the tears that they cried to save her friends. Big brain.
Kyoshi was way too quick to violence and threats. I mean honestly I don’t think she had any business killing yun especially when his motives resulted from pain and not from pure evil like azulon or ozai.
I guess bones are (as a material) comparable with wood... it could theoretically be possible to bend bones and even flesh, but for most earthbenders it's way too hard to sense that "grain of earth" within bone (considering that metalbending is hard enough)
What's a fucked idea is instantly freezing the water inside of a person.... or worse, separating the water from a person causing a pretty painful death.
I feel that Avatar series can be dark if they were to go back in time. The new avatars are soft not Aang tho. Can’t wait for Kiyoshi movie to come out. And yes at the time it was necessary, we earth types don’t like wasting time, we move slow but come with massive amounts of forces to get the job…remember what Toph said to Aang on training day
I heard it differently kiyoshi lied to him saying that she learned of a technique that would transfer her Avatar abilities to him by simply placing her right hand on his heart when she did that she froze his heart and lungs when took his last breath it look like if he was in a freezer that just showed how cold and dangerous waterbending can be so don't anger a waterbending master especially if they are the avatar🪨🔥🌪️❄️
You forgot the blood bending is the same from of water bending but it’s forbidden to use it the avatar the last airbender have no choice to take the bending away to prevent from happening again.
A Wind Bending Technique What if you suck all the air Out of the room with your own Lungs and hold it till they die and can airbending not make like really powerfull noises to make other people go deaf and then attack them and then they will not know if there is a attack coming or not
maybe using minerals in a body to disintegrate one (rocks/crystals burst out)... or rapidly decay the body because of minerals present... theory indeed
Imagine the new earth avatar having misidentified the avatar again, and this misidentified avatar becomes the first nemesis of the actual avatar. Imagine a Zuko type of villain, who draws their mastery in earthbending from all the four nations, and becomes a master earth bender willing to venge the avatar.
kyoshi learned the secret to immortality and never telling any other avatar. Not like she can tell anyone after korra anymore because korra fucked up the avatars past lives
Yun: Definitely was dealt a bad hand, and the Earth Kingdom definitely could’ve handled the “Avatar Identification Process” better. Was Yun’s rage justified: in someways yeah, I literally don’t blame him for feeling the way he did Was he right to go after those who wronged him the way he did 🪦☠️: Debatable, Yes he was lied to, Yes they need to be punished, but to out right execute them, That’s going too far. because Fact: Revenge is a Poison that offers temporary rewards, and is addictive enough to want more until you are a shell of your former self Because I deduce the following Yun at the juncture known as “confronting the avatar” has lost all memory of his former self.
Kyoshi was not the only one who used this type of waterbending, as it Ang's time there were waterbenders who were also known as "bloodbenders" where they bend the vary blood of people/animals which is a advanced form of what Kyoshi used. Where not only could they kill people in a instant using their own blood, but also move them around like puppets.
Using blood bending to cause a heart attack . Also , u don't need blood bending to kill , I mean freezing the water inside the mouth of a person , essentially choking them
It’s kinda like the killing curse. It depends on the context when it’s used. No tool is inherently evil only the actions the wielder makes. Sometimes you have to take a life to save a life and that’s just how the world works.
Gentle reminder that literally everyone except firebenders can kill you just by looking at you Come to think of it… how the hell did they come close to winning a war?
1. Not "literally everyone" though. You think non-benders can do any better than fire benders? LOL 2. Firebenders also have special abilities like lightning and explosion bending. They can also just look at you and you suddenly explode or get electrocuted. Who knows, too, maybe soon there will be revealed another special firebending where they can instantly increase the temperature of something at a distance? That can kill a person very quickly, too.
they came close to winning a war because if the bending in ATLA was realistic, everyone could murder everyone on sight instantly. bloodbending, bending the air inside someone's body, burying someone alive (like how general fong did to katara, and then was never seen again ever), and have you ever burned yourself on the stove? good luck continuing to fight with someone spraying a flamethrower at you. ATLA just doesn't have benders fight like that, because it would turn a kid's cartoon into some grimdark edgy, insanely graphic, only allowed on at night show, and because it ruins the world and themes of the show. benders technically can murder everyone on sight, yes, but save for very rare instances, that's just not how it works.
@@heathersmith4042 if the show was realistic firebenders would not be a threat at all. Earth benders could just crush them and block their flames, water benders can just freeze their body solid from the inside instantly before ripping it apart, and air benders can stifle the flames for an indefinite period before suffocating them slowly. No shit it’s not realistic
I have a question. i watched the avatar shows and read the comic about zukos mother. But how do you get all this information on avatar? Is it the comics? If so I’m gonna read all of them
I have a theory when you have 60 % water in your body is mot waterbending on of the most powerfull because you can freeze from that Person the body and then they die

One second dude finally has someone show him love and empathy for all his pain and torment and the next second he is betrayed by that same person and murdered. Then she desacrates his corpse to save her friends... he may have went down the wrong path but holy crap she was pure evil.

She did what she had to do to not only save the people she loved, but to save the world, as it wouldn't have stopped there if she'd let him go.
"We'll add those to the list of forbidden things Kyoshi used."
"Oh come on there are only four bendings it won't even be much of a list."
"Forbidden drugs?"
"Okay five is still not a list."
"Forbidden weapons? Forbidden combat techniques?"
"Okay fine I see your point."
"Forbidden ritual?
It was necessary. Jun would have killed everyone in the entire world out of insane revenge if Kyoshi had not stopped him.
That's a bit dramatic. Yun was a prodigy, but... The world?
@@androkguz Maybe not succeeded but a hell of a lot of innocent people would still have been slaughtered before he went down and Kyoshi knew that.
“Only justice will bring peace.”
@@androkguz Well he did absorb a spirit so bringing chaos to the world wouldn't be hard for him
Kiyoshi was so moe as a youth, and yet all the stories emphasize her brutality.
Kyoshi is still less brutal and ruthless than Yangchen though
@@leminhtai1518why you say that?
@@apollospyrol7168 Because that's how it is in the novels?
Sozin was Roku’s best friend, Kyoshi’s situation was much different
“Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later that debt is paid.” -a wise man
Waterbending is so op, cause you could literally just Freeze people and they just became popsicles
That's worse than when Zaheer took the earth queen's breath away 😬
Love Kyoshi and her novels so much I’m reading them for a third time !
What Kyoshi did was basically bloodbending, but up close.
Avatar creators are definitely sleeping on an entire series of Avator Kyoshi
curious question : imagine if the water bender put a poison in the water it used, wouldn't that made the ice blade that shoot out of the water more deadly (in case it scratched your skin and such), also would poison even works as well, especially the more watery type of poison ?
Damn this is clever.
This could work. Hopefully your opponent isn't a waterbender though!
Just imagine the bunch of drama that could've been skipped if Rokku, Aang and (OH LORD!!!) Korra had just given full control to Kyoshi
Kyoshi whispered: "I'm sorry I said you had to live with your pain"
Yun moved close to her to hear her more clearly
Then she said "... because you won't"
Seems very on the nose for Kyoshi
@@jaquanthomas5988 it's what she said
It's crazy to think that this was one of Aang's previous lives. Just makes me wonder how brutal an Avatar could get considering the fact that there were hundreds of them, each with different personalities and morals.
You should read the books to get full context on why Kyoshi did that and what happened afterward
But if you wanna know how brutal or ruthless an Avatar can be, I recommend reading The Dawn of Yangchen and The Legacy of Yangchen
So Kyoshi is literally the most cut throat and brutal Avatar lol she kills by any means .. damn!
Avatar “lesser of two evils” Kyoshi 👑🐐
Water and Air bending on the scale of the Avatar are the most dangerous forms of bending one allows you bending very blood within people and the other allows you to take the air out of their lungs … that’s some scary shit
We call what she did "offensive healing"
😂😂😂
The only reason why did this happen was because she was so leanient in first place.
Kyoshi was the best avatar and she take shit from nobody and she don't wait for miracles to happen, she made them happen.
Water was always so OP in TLA, it was fortunate that it was the fire nation (that literally everyone had some defense against) that became the militaristoc expansionists.
Kuvira's army was unstopabble even Mako struggled with regular soldier 1v1 (BOlin too but he was lack of earth inside that giant platinum mecha)
if Korra didnt stopped Kuvira her army may be conquered the world
I hope someone makes a video about how Father Glowworm is responsible for the Avatar’s large scale losses
Wait, did Avatar Kyoshi just turned Yun's blood... INTO ICE?!?!??!
1:04 so… the plot to Kung fu panda 1?
Rated R Avatar would be crazy
Imagine bending boiling hot water at people. Waterbending is op
id love a series about kyoshi
Kiyoshi really don't give any attantion to the world, she was onpy focused on to her island. I realpy did not understand her standing point or logic
Kyoshi needs her own series
Just proves all bending are equally dangerous as they are helpful
A house knife can be as dangerous as it is helpful.
Same with superpowers
Saw the caption and honestly learning how Kioshi caught bodies is a weird hobby at this point 💀🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just a question to persons more knowledgeable. Can earth benders control bones? That would be a sick ability
I guess bones are (as a material) comparable with wood... it could theoretically be possible to bend bones and even flesh, but for most earthbenders it's way too hard to sense that "grain of earth" within bone (considering that metalbending is hard enough)
It's hard to tell whether kyoshi is bad or good
0:28 did the Avatar Genji comics steal the idea from the Kiyoshi trilogy? I think they said they were influenced by it if I‘m not mistaken
Nickelodeon should make Avatar kyoshi story, after aang and korra
Na, read the book. Rangi suffered major damage and Kyoshi decided to kill Yun, after an entire book of tryna redeem him or something
I want a Kyoshi series so badly
So she created the first blood transfusion? So water benders would make the best surgeons?
You forgot the blood bending is the same from of water bending but it’s forbidden to use it the avatar the last airbender have no choice to take the bending away to prevent from happening again.
A Wind Bending Technique What if you suck all the air Out of the room with your own Lungs and hold it till they die and can airbending not make like really powerfull noises to make other people go deaf and then attack them and then they will not know if there is a attack coming or not
Just imagine if the next avatar after korra ends
Up using the most forbidden form of earth bending
maybe using minerals in a body to disintegrate one (rocks/crystals burst out)... or rapidly decay the body because of minerals present... theory indeed
Ripping out minerals from bones then
Yun got dunked on
I want a kyoshi animated series ugh
Just when I think I can't love her anymore.
I'm so happy they have her in the netflix series
If kyoshi had known about bloodbending no evil person would have ever survived
01:57 What is that anime?
avatar Kiyoshi is so bad ass. i want a full season of her story
Kyoshi pulled a Sub-Zero on this boy!
Yun had to deal with so much stuff he should have not died
what's the art from?
Well, at least she didin't use bloodbending.
Great art in this video? Who's the artist, though? You don't seem to source it.
Where do you get this information?
It does explain why she was so adamant about taking responsibility for her actions.
Good Lord that was brutal. 😰
kyoshi learned the secret to immortality and never telling any other avatar. Not like she can tell anyone after korra anymore because korra fucked up the avatars past lives
Yun: Definitely was dealt a bad hand, and the Earth Kingdom definitely could’ve handled the “Avatar Identification Process” better.
Was Yun’s rage justified: in someways yeah, I literally don’t blame him for feeling the way he did
Was he right to go after those who wronged him the way he did 🪦☠️: Debatable, Yes he was lied to, Yes they need to be punished, but to out right execute them, That’s going too far.
because Fact: Revenge is a Poison that offers temporary rewards, and is addictive enough to want more until you are a shell of your former self
Because I deduce the following
Yun at the juncture known as “confronting the avatar” has lost all memory of his former self.
Except they usually just moved people around. Deep freeze is a whole another thing
This is basically the first Kungfu panda movie.
Anyone else feel bad for both kyoshi and the other jun😞
Using blood bending to cause a heart attack .
Also , u don't need blood bending to kill , I mean freezing the water inside the mouth of a person , essentially choking them
It’s kinda like the killing curse. It depends on the context when it’s used. No tool is inherently evil only the actions the wielder makes. Sometimes you have to take a life to save a life and that’s just how the world works.
Hello,there fellow potterhead
I don't understand the difference between cracking his head open with a chunk or ice and freezing his heart. They are morally the same.
It was faster.
Gentle reminder that literally everyone except firebenders can kill you just by looking at you
Come to think of it… how the hell did they come close to winning a war?
1. Not "literally everyone" though. You think non-benders can do any better than fire benders? LOL
That's why I thing Aang is the best Avatar so far....And I despice Kyoshi, she was a duchebag......
I have a question. i watched the avatar shows and read the comic about zukos mother. But how do you get all this information on avatar? Is it the comics? If so I’m gonna read all of them
It's a book series. The first novel is called The Rise of Kyoshi and the second one is called The Shadow of Kyoshi.
I have a theory when you have 60 % water in your body is mot waterbending on of the most powerfull because you can freeze from that Person the body and then they die
So she’s the first metal bender and the first blood bender. Technically the first water in blood bender, and fine minerals in blood bender
Not really a good way at all. To be honest it is sick. One second dude finally has someone show him love and empathy for all his pain and torment and the next second he is betrayed by that same person and murdered. Then she desacrates his corpse to save her friends... he may have went down the wrong path but holy crap she was pure evil.
