He's not 77. He's 34. This song never ages. He'll never age, this song brings me back to high school with my sweetheart that became my wife listening to this. He wrote the most beautiful song ever created and stopped time.
If this song doesn't pull at your heart stings...check your pulse. You may be dead. Boz....you are the man. Love you. Thank you for all the years of your soulful voice that got me through.
Hard to put into words what this song does for the soul. The feeling it leaves you with. The magic in this man’s voice. What a wonderful gift to the world. One of the few songs that makes me feel warm and safe yet want cry at the same time! Beautiful!

Ufortunatly now she is no longer with me and i cant get passed the first 2 lines of the song. It is still one of my favourite songs of all time and maybe one day i will be able to listen to it completley.... I love you Jane xxx
His best rendition in my opinion. His sound is lower, with more life lived, and that fabulous hall sound. I was a late teen when this song came out, so I experienced the whole era that lasted a few years in mainstream clubs. Boz Scaggs was a sensation.
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it back in 1976. Today, nearly 45 years later, it has a depth and sensitivity that only time can bring. Just a beautiful song and sung by the one guy who can bring all that out. Well done, Slim.
Bought Silk Degrees when I was 15 and have played the same vinyl copy every week since. God did a great job giving the human race a voice. Perfection..sheer perfection.
I absolutely love this song. Listening to Boz Scaggs brings back so many memories. Thank you Boz. It was so fantastic to see you live a few years ago (at the Maryhill Winery in Goldendale, WA), and you sounded just as good as you did in the 1970's.
I think how lucky I am at 65 to have grown up listening to some great, great music. Today’s music pales in comparison, especially rap crap. Boz will always be a fav.❤️
How right you are Patricia. Music today (two years after YOUR post,) hasn't just become "pale," it is now transparent. There is nothing to see...or hear.
The music was so much better back in the 60's and 70's! Rap and hip-hop are hideous and a terrible influence on kids and teens because they glorify gangs, criminality, and the abuse of women. If enough people, especially younger demographics, demand music of similar styles and quality, music companies will get the message and sell new songs of this type of music again.
Saw Boz last night, live in Fort Lauderdale. It's insane...he's still on top of his game. Tight band, great compositions, mix of R & B, blues, rock, jazzy soul...plus Boz and his terrific vocal skills. Fabulous artist!! And, he's 77 years old. Big WOW!!
So jealous. My world is falling apart with all this pandemic madness. I thought I'd revisit the 70s. Sitting here crying about what used to be...what I took for granted. Hope it isn't gone forever. Glad life in Florida is still enjoying this unrestricted.
One of the most beautiful and unique voices in the music universe. This man carries so much emotion in his voice that, at times, it can be overwhelming. It makes me sad that there are almost no new singers/musicians, or songs, like this anymore. The world is a lesser place...
Without fail, every time I hear this I darn near cry .... and I'm not thinking of another person, it doesn't remind me of anyone. It is simply because it is a beautiful song and a sign of human greatness that someone actually wrote this.
This is so refreshing and so good to read--someone who likes music without making it about himself, but for the sake of the music itself. This is someone who genuinely likes music. I wish that there were more of you!
For those who came of age with this song, I think we all have a special summer memory that lives with this incredible tune. .... smiles and thinks of you.
