Perfectionist. But maintenance is gonna be hell. Gordon doesnt believe in simplicity. Ahh his f1. That was and is mechanical perfection. Not to badd to work on but expensive components. The gold leaf in the engine compartment for heat was an indicator of Gordon's OCD. Just coat the exhausts. Lol

Always love watching a Catchpole piece. Yourself and Harris are by far my favourite automotive journalists. This has to be the best Gordon Murray interview I’ve seen by far. He seems to enjoy telling you about his creation as if you’re a friend he hasn’t seen in years whereas everyone else he speaks to it’s like he’s irritated by something they’ve said or like he needs to take a leak but the person won’t shut up.

Gordon is a legend. I'm totally sold...just have to sort out a minor detail and rob my entire village. I wish GMA started a higher-volume single model sports car based on the same philosophy. This thing is so elegant in every detail and it just has barely a dozen buttons in it. That's the kind of car I strive to build every time I start a project. Bring it back to its essence. I was blown away at the torque curve...Looking forward to seeing every little detail up close on the T50 and this in terms of suspension and aerodynamics, mounting, hinges...every little thing.

What's stopping him from doing this is his perfectionist outlook. He always wants the best materials possible for his cars, so R&D will never be cheap, which will inevitably raise the price. Not only that, going into mass production means the introduction of quality control issues, which I'm sure the man is extremely adamant about minimizing as much as possible, if not eliminating it completely.

Re. the T.33, I will never be able to afford one but I do think the whole "we're letting the T.50 customers have first dibs" is a bit unfair. No one needs a T.50 and a T.33, and I'm sure some of the T.50S are going to T.50 owners also, so when Gordon talks about wanting his cars to be driven surely offering them to non T.50 owners makes more sense than having individuals own all three?

Murray's other innovations as a freelance engineer/designer as well (e.g. iStream and the consulting for the rebirth of TVR) also stand on their own merit. You can choose sides between two men who were both involved in an incredibly successful project, but that doesn't negate the separate work that Murray has done that more than stand on their own merit.

this isn't sacrilege, don't worry, you are allowed to have an opinion.
But i may tell you man, i didn't have any feeling in particular for certain cars until i saw them in person. There are certain designs that arent that much angular and photography wise, they don't show its design qualities. In person you may few completely different.
All of those designer language jargon about proportions, they aren't exactly bollocks.
I was getting the same vibe until they shot the bonnet at 11:00. That shot shows a little more of its minimalistic and elegant lines, i suspect this may be the among the best car designs ever made. It really gives this 60's racers vibe but its a matter of taste.
