- Introducing the Gordon Murray T.33 Spider!
This is the spider edition of the previously revealed T.33, and it has one pretty big claim to fame - it’s the only open-top V12 supercar in the world with a manual transmission!
The T.33 Spider is an elegant beast - you won’t find any outlandish vents or wings here! Everything you see serves a purpose and works in harmony to deliver the best performance possible.
The engine is an absolute triumph too. This Cosworth-built 3.9-litre V12 is the lightest V12 in the world, and in this T.33 Spider, it delivers 617hp through the rear wheels, enabling this open top to reach a top speed of 208mph! What’s more, it also redlines at an incredible 11,100rpm!
It’s a good thing it’s the lightest V12 in the world, as the T.33 Spider has been designed to be as lightweight as possible - it tips the scales at just 1,100kg!!
So it looks great, and the specs are mighty impressive. The question is, should you really pay an eye-watering £1,890,000 for one?! Stick with Mat and Gordon for this excellent walk-around review! - Авто та транспорт

Gordon Murray is the prime example of Old money aesthetic and Gentleman. His voice, vocabulary, knowledge, humbleness, transparency, passion and hard work is so admirable. What a legend he is and what a great great personality he has.
I just hate how hes constantly shit talking other manufacturers in every video, like his car is the only good one
@@flavourinyourear makes sense cuz he makes the cars HE likes
👍 yup
Humbleness? He sounds like a pompous knob, tbh. This car isn’t “classic”, it looks bland and boring, in my opinion.
@@flavourinyourear apart from Porsche
I don’t know how Christian von Koenigsegg & Gordon Murray do it. They do dozens of these interviews but seem enthusiastic every time. Explaining the same concepts in depth with a sense of humor to still crack jokes. Kudos to them!
They're just both so passionate. That's why I love them
they just love what they create man, that's all! proud to talk about their hard work and realized ideals!
And they have fans like us who will listen to them any number of times as well. Their thinking is exquisite.
When you are mad passionate about a subject, it is never a chore to talk to people about it. Each new person you speak with is just another opportunity for you to discuss your favourite subject.
Enzo - Ferruccio - Pagani - Murray!
Putting the horn and headlamp flash as paddles to "move people out the way"
Hell yeah Gordon.
I was looking for this comment. To move people out of the way, the man knows his car is fast or faster than at least 90% of the cars on the road.
@@aryandhiman404 More like 99.99%. This car would eat AMGs and M cars for breakfast.
@@henrytang2203 it probably would given how light this is. Power to ratio would be crazy for this one.
I love how calm and measured he is. It really sets the tone of the conversation as like a calm, comfortable talk.
I think that more car companies need the mindset Gordon has, he puts some well thought out reasoning behind his cars.
Agreed. If car companies focused on less weight, it would be a better place. Less fuel, faster, less tyre wear, better to drive, easier on the planet etc etc
Just like he did making all his T.50 customers furious by releasing the T.33?
@@Chriskreepa Look at BMW now. The new M2 is 3800 pounds (1723 kg) and it's their "small sports coupe", cars are getting way too heavy
@@superleggera1900 this 2023 BMW M2 is as heavy as even Aston Martin DB6.
@@superleggera1900 well, its a hell of easier if you only produce limited car with no price issue. meanwhile bmw need thing about: price, competitor price, production cost, serviceablity, supplier/vendor, nowadays emmision regulation that complicate the cars, different regulation in every place they want to sell, etc etc.
Mat: *Porsche?*
Gordon: *They're the exception.*
Mat: *Lamborghini?*
Gordon: *I CAN'T MENTION NAMES*
Mat: Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Motor Company?
Gordon Murray: I still cant mention their names. But its amazing.
Goonzquad highlighted fake vents on their new Aventador recently. The timing is impeccable.
Lamborghini is for those flashy people porsche is for drivers
Seeing that interaction between Mat and Gordon is just absolutely priceless. The fact they were both having a laugh while taking the vehicle serious is what an awesome CEO should be. Wow, I never would've though the Murray himself would own an All-new Suzuki Jimny in his car collection. Could we also get a review on that T:50 carwow please? We need to see Gordon drive down to do a drag race with you Mat. That would be so god damn good to watch.
And its very awesome.
Gordon’s demeanor is very calm. Not serious but, intentional. I’m a big fan. Also, I love how this video shows that Mat can make anybody laugh.
Love how Matt has dressed smart and mature, because he’s in the great man’s presence. So much respect for Gordon
Its more like a Cpt. Slow Cosplay ;)
The Dahmer glasses though……

Ain’t getting no bodies in that Froot though 😂
@@Sidowse Send me the employee list and I’ll credit them all 👍
Loved how Mat interacted with Mr. Murray as a friend rather than some VIP on a pedestal like some do. Made watching this all the more enjoyable.
Gordon Murray is a legend forever in the motorsport industry! So happy to see him in a Carwow video with Mat!
I'll bet apart from seeing him in this video. You haven't a clue who he is.
its all to sell a car
I don't know why, but I really wanna see Jeremy Clarkson talking about cars with Gordon Murray for like even 2 hours. I'd watch it all over and over again.
A Supercar that makes sense and built by enthusiast, not by a marketing team! Thanks Matt and Gordon!
The Alpine A110 just got the greatest compliment as being used to bench test against for this amazing car!
Made me think about getting one haha
And Alpine looks better tbh.
I have one on order with same spec as him!!
That and PS4s !
his bench mark for the mclaren f1 was the honda nsx
I love the way he so respectfully played the car rating game. Never taking the piss out of any. Just a proper car guy
I love Gordon, he is the most down to earth supercar designer. He is like an everyday car guy building dream cars. Driving experience is the main focus. Who cares about 0-60 times. Make it simple, responsive, functional, and make it light.
Same bro!!!! It isn't always about numbers and stats but rather the connectivity between a man and the machine and the amount of joy that he gets from the vehicle!!! I know this is pretty far off topic and there's no comparison but Gordon's philosophy about cars really quite reminds me of Spoon Sports Honda Civic Type R (Specifically the EK9). They aren't actually Al about power and stuffs (sure there's a marginal increase of power output but that's not the whole thing), but rather driving experience and refined performance!!! Sure it might be slow overall but I'm sure you'd enjoy yourself once you get your hands on it!! Again, I'm not comparing that Civic against this one by all means but yeah, atleast they do share the same philosophy and approach and that is the experience you get from the car!!!
In a world of EV's taking over, a true drivers car. Can't wait to see the review of this!
BEV's are taking over the daily commute because it's superior in doing that, big manufacturers have to build also hybrid and BEV's for EU pollution regulations but these small projects and manufacturers don't have to, we will have decades to go with beautiful ICE cars, 2 different worlds that will coexist for decades to come
@@yerrie1908 That's probably the wisest thing I've ever read in a comments section of a car video!
Yeah, a 2 million pound drivers car, I'm sure we'll be seeing these down at the local supermarket all the time.
True drivers car…. For 100 millionaires, so pretty irrelevant.🤷♂️
Evs are so much safer and easier to drive
Ive seen a lot of Gordan Murray interviews since he started a press tour for his company so Its been interesting to see how each presenter approach their interviews. This has been the best so far.
Manual gearbox, analogue controls and a proper handbrake. Love it!
Gordon Murray's designs are an instant timeless classic
Old and slow.....⚡️🇺🇲
They are. T33 would be my car if I was swimming in cash.
This car dont look so good tho. Cant quite put my finger on it.
@@mlm1226 It feels a little bit like a Pagani Zonda without the bang and whistles. I think it fits the gentlemen that dont want a supercar that looks like a transformer on steroids.
Exterior design is a copy of Pagani
Interior design is copy of McLaren (especially the steering wheel)
nothing classic about this 😆
Mr. Murray's designs are so incredible in their simplistic beauty. The proportions are always so correct and every element flows beautifully into the other. Thank you for presenting these bespoke vehicles for us to see.
Absolutely
Copy of Pagani... stop overhyping this crap 🤦♂💀
Especially in today times
T50 is really ugly but t33 is pretty
@@KingofInterns the Gordon Murray T50 kinda like Hunter Cavalry from Burnout Paradise. LOL.
i know it doesnt really compare, but the throttle response on my s2000 is one big reason why i love it, a fast high reving engine in a pretty light car is just magic
Think it is reasonably comparable Honda reasonably known to make some of the best manuals even among Porsche etc
💯 We swapped a K20 Type-R and trans out of an EP3 into a friend's MR-S and it is truly sublime.
Yep. One of the reasons I loved my FD2 which is possibly better still. The immediacy of the car with its lightness was very apparent and made it more exciting than my Mégane RS I ran at the same time.
Both now gone, replaced by CRX and Jimny😂
@@DriverTuition Ideal 2-car garage IMO. Hope the CRX gets a GSR swap soon if it hasn't already. Makes a huge difference.
@@ZainJafar I like my B16A actually. It's making about 170bhp so it's quick enough and revs nicely.
Gordon is an absolute legend, he really does understand what a good car should be and feel like, that's what we really mostly miss in the car industry
Gordon is simply one of the greatest artists and engineers of our time. There are few people like him. Horacio Pagani comes to mind, as well as Christian Koenigsegg, Jerrod Shelby, etc. They are our generation's Enzo and Ferrucio.

He's more Ettore Bugatti than anyone even remotely involved with Bugatti.

I'm Polish and i own MX-5 NB. This is like a ducking surreal dream hearing Gordon Murray giving my car 8/10 and a car that was part of my childhood 7/10... There is still one on driveway owned by an old lady neighbour in an apartment next to me!
Thanks Matt for making my day!
The right mindset of a vehicle people actually want!! He understands the assignment !!
12:00 Damn, his audience is absolutely hyper-focused on the manual driving experience. If he keeps being the only one supplying it, he's set.
Matt: "What do you think about the new BMW 7 Series?" Gordon: ...Yes... 🤣
The numbers they can get out of a NA V12 these days is amazing, it's like twice the power of the same engines of the good old V12s of the 1970s
5:52 ok. Drag races are good. EV challenges are riveting. New model launches are interesting, but this was magnificent…. Absolutely fascinating and intriguing… love the GMA cars, love the man, and loved this video!
Thank you
I love this car; the design is super clean and that stick shift, the drivers choice 👌🏽
Finally a super car builder that gets it. Simplicity and performance it’s all a driver needs. Nothing to take away from the driving experience and just drive.
I would love to see Gordon, Jay lenno, Drivetribe and clarkson, and you all just chatting about cars, what they love about them, bring your favorites no needing to actually drive. the idea of how much passion you all have for cars in general is awesome. Super cool you were able to get out to his shop and see things. the T50 is a dream along with the F1 but for now I will just keep looking in awe. great showing and cheers.
Gordon’s expertise and passion is wonderful to see every time!
Great video. This is really an amazing car. Understated and elegant and you can see that every millimeter was engineered to be the best for its purpose. You could just stare at it for hours as a piece of art, yet something about it, especially the spider make you just want to jump in and drive. It makes most other modern cars look overwrought and silly, to be honest. Like a fine watch, it doesn't need bands of diamonds or to be showy and won't be the first thing that catches your eye in a room of supercars, but when you look closely at it, it will be the one you keep coming around to look at again.
It is incredibly calming to listen to Gordon Murray himself talking about cars. Definitely a bloke you would like to have a beer with.
My god, the T50 is just out of this world. Infact everything in this show room gives me goose bumps.🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love how the cars look so smooth and natural compared to other current brands
Yeap. Very artsy and timeless, and aerodynamic.
This car Reminds me of a lotus or vauxhall vx220. It's a good thing tbh. Feels light and simple and eager to be driven. Although for that kind of money there are many more cars even with a v12 engine. What this car symbolises is simplicity and driving experience. It might not look like it costs a million pounds but i think the true car lovers and racing lovers of the 60s would appreciate it. Watching this video I came to understand that Gordan's thinking is different and he is more interested in the overall car, its materials, their feel and he is more focused on bigger experience etc and is totally different from Adrian Newey who i think focuses more on aero details to generate performance. Gordan is a pure car lover.
Bro yes exactly the lights o ma gaud it’s excacly like a lotus and loon like a 2005 car
Or tvr
I also thought it looked quite lotus, like a stretched s2 elise
Gordon Murray is such an amazing car mind. He seems like he could chat to Matt for hours on end. What an incredible man 👏👏👏
Gordon Murray is such a gentleman And it's fantastic that you can speak to the guy Who has designed the car Incongraduations on the G T3 You really does do deserve one
That Niki Lauda T50 is insane.
How are your videos so good. Gordon is such a legend of a gentleman. Amazing car.
There you you go! Mr Gordon Murray confirms the superiority of the naturally aspirated engine over bolt on blowers, NA is like fine wine and when bolted to a manual transmission is the pinnacle of driving purity.
I watch all GMA vids over and over again and and I can't get over the brilliant mind of Gordon.
Seeing such a mature and confident design was a breath of fresh air.
understated beauty. would love to experience a drive in it
Congrats to Mr Murray and another epic car! Great video as always!
Absolutely obsessed, it all just makes sense. So much harmony here. Fantastic work of art from GMA
When Mat and Gordon had the exchange about super car vs. hypercar and Gorden said “what’s next” shows what an absolute other league he’s in. Not caught up with trends, labels and hype, just class, quality and the absolute pinnacle of motoring. Well done Carwow
Isaac862, Gordon Murray T50 kinda reminded me a lot to Supercar from Burnout 2.
Young people who try to be famous or cool by following new trends and getting inspired by rappers and thugs need to learn what is it like to be a real Gentleman. And Gordan is a prime example of that. The way he suits and speaks is amazing. There are very few people with such amazing personality like him. I have never seen him doing silly things for attention or internet
As a South African viewer, I am extremely happy that Gordon Murray has created a masterpiece and I applaud him for this work of art👏
Brilliant stuff Mat, what a dream interview. Gordon legend!
It hurts to see matt getting old. Now you have glasses & white hair.
It'll be a sad day when he retires😢 let's hope were raptured before then
It doesn’t hurt getting old. Getting old is a hell of a lot better than the alternative. Just enjoy the videos my man.
Actually it’s just the glasses.
Should have gone to Specsavers
Don't forget the wrinkles bruh
The beauty of simplicity👌🏽
I'm an 80's kid and the F40 was my dream car becoz of its purity. The 959 was technological advancement for the time. Saying that the McLaren F1 was the pinnacle of that era of super car. Your Bugattis etc are steroid hypercars, but Gordon builds bespoke, minimalist, pure super cars.
This is what happens when you make a produc out of passion and not revenue or profit. Hands down to best Car maker/designer Gordon Murray, and by the way he loves Porsches too🤩😍♥️
It's truly a driver's car , an experience that can't be replicated by mass produced cars , really really beautiful car Thanks Murray for bringing this car into the world 😊😊
Christ, you just love parroting marketing bs. Porsche GT4 is a mass production "drivers car". As is The Radical. As is Corvette ZO6 and Alpine and BAC Mono.
@@lavrentievv Exactly. We are yet to even see a detailed driving review of this car and the T50 and people in comment section are hailing it as the only drivers car on the planet.Kudos to you for not buying into the hype
@@KevindusT360 There's good reason why road engines don't rev to 11k rpm: you need lightweight aluminium pistons. As Gordon said the engine warranty is 50-100k miles. Coz that's when they need overhauling if used as intented. Which is stupid for a targa-top car. None of its design has any focus, nor is it good looking. 217mph top speed is not track-geared. The air intake flow and structural rigidity could be greatly improved with a T-bar design.
@@lavrentievv do you realize this weighs 1500lbs less than a C8. That is massive. The C8 is not even remotely comparable as far as being a drivers car. This is a lightweight mid engine sports car with a manual steering rack and a manual transmition. The new Vette is a big heavy automatic car.

These cars are instant classics!! Epic video with so many sound bites, compliments Porsche but won’t comment on Lamborghini. Lol!!! Biggest weight saved “titanium bolts” just epic comments. To have a 3 year warranty on that engine is simply amazing. I can honestly say these cars will be worth every penny
Such a well spoken, relaxed and cool guy this Gordon is... Type of person that you can listen all day long, he could be talking about knitting and you would still be entertained and not board!

Gordon is a very technical guy but he also enjoys a bit of fun, and undoubtedly our fellow Matthew does it quite well.
I’m I the only one who wander when Mat is going to visit the koenigsegg factory?
Wow 3.9L capacity for a V12 is very small 😮😮😮 that is insane and impressive I’ll say
Cosworth's thing I guess
necessary to keep it so high revving
Is it? The first Ferrari V12 had a capacity of 1.5L in the 125S. BRM built a V16 of the same capacity.
One of the best T.33 interviews. Good job Carwow.
I really enjoyed Gordon's and Matt's interactions. Matt's sense of humor, and eclectic questions, seemed to genuinely disarmed Gordon in a way other interviewers haven't achieved.
Man , it's really takes time to realise Murray is like what Gerald genta was for watch industry really an work of art
The man Mr. Murray never deviated from the original recipe but somehow refines it tastefully and practically every-time. Truly a pioneer and innovator.
Eye candy with beautiful mechanical detail and application!
Love the way how you two understand each other. Often reporters seem embarrassed when talking to Gordon, cause he knows much more then they do. Mat did a great job and vibed with him smoothly.
I have to say Matt, I find you annoying most of the time , however, your interaction with the legendary Gordon Murray was excellent, like a father to son relationship and that was lovely to watch, compared to Harry’s Garage, you have produced a great vid 👍👌
Guessing you're someone with 0 sense of humour then? Some people pride themselves in being boring and I respect that, good on you sir!
Mr Harry Metcalfe is another gentleman like Mr. Murray. You didn't hear silly jokes and histerical laughs, simply because gentleman's don't do that. Some people find it boring? Great 😁

@Dave Wilson Yes you are right. Because few days ago I personally recommended Mrs Letton Deb to a lady who was ready to embark on forex/stock Investment.
@kimberlymares9710 That shouldn't be a regret
The best part was when Gordon was ranking his car collection. He seemed to actually have an opinion and his reasons rather than just rushing to get back to talking about his own vehicles. A true enthusiast. Respect. Great job Matt.
I am not an engineer and i really can’t understand some of the technical details Mr. Murray is talking about but my oh my, i can sit and listen this gentleman talk about cars for days!
