Hilarious. I have watched endless reviews of this tent, but I thought I would look for a couple more before committing. Yours is literally the best. You meander around the tent filming every little detail and talking about it, so by the end it feels like I've actually crawled inside it myself. Excellent work mate. You picked out every little detail missed in other videos, and pointed the camera in every nook and cranny. I was particularly curious about how its like to sit in because I like to do my personal admin in the tent. Its amazing how many reviews didnt show that. Really great review mate, and Olly was hilarious. Please extend my kindest concerns to your lady wife, and I wish her the very best.

loved the fact Ollie is more excited about it that you are, oh Daddy lets go camping ! ! good summary of the tent, tks. I'm torn between the Helvellyn and the Starav, both strong tents, love the porch of the Helvellyn
He loves the tent going up and down, just won't stat out in it 🙈🙈🤣🤣 yeh tough choice, what about the helm 2 ?? Just to throw a spanner in the works lol
@DaveSnoddy73 awww right, I think I would wait for the hydra to come back in stock, it's or was cheaper than the helvellyn, has a higher HHead all round and is imho a better colour green 👍 not sure if you've seen my video on whether the helvellyn footprint fits the hydra (it does) but I also look a bit closer at the tent too 😉
The hydra seems to have a few extras like straps and velcro for the flaps but weights 2.8 kg where as the Helvellyn is 2.45 and the vents have no Velcro, made to meet a price point. Again thanks for reviewing

Hi mate , I have the same tent , got it from amazon, I've not set mine up yet , will probably do a little vid when I do with first thoughts , looks roomy there but wish they didn't have an orange inner , 2.8kg isn't bad really like you say. These are supposed to be great in high winds. All the best with it and best wishes to your wife too hope it all goes well 👍🏕
Cheers Gaz appreciate that mate, yeh the orange is bright but I can live with it lol, the quality is excellent and some nice little touches like the door zips having over sized finger loops on them so you can easily do them up with gloves on, I seen you wrote a review on amazon about something I was looking at, and I was gonna ask you about it as I didn't see a vid review, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was now 😂😂😂 oh hang on I think it might have been a down quilt ??
@Mick Outdoors I have a couple of them both from amazon, they are quite thin , but lightweight, they are good as an extra layer or maybe in the really warm months you could use it on its own , but mainly use them just to add a later in the winter , but they are OK, I got them for free but I've noticed they fluctuate in price , so if you can get them cheap they are OK to add a layer in colder months

Ah I love new tent day!!! The Hydra's a better tent than the Helvellyn. Great prices they've been selling for recently so you've got a good deal there Mick. It's really stable in high winds and the options on the door are a great selling point. Awww thankyou Donna ♥️♥️ yeh I watched and rewatched your 2 vids where your using it, and that's what clinched it for me really, so vango owe you some commission 😀 I really need to venture up to Northumberland and find somewhere to test it out, I'm not to savvy on the area and I hate sitting in the traffic on the A1 around and past the metro centre so will have to look at a route that cuts all that out ? 👍👍
@@Mickoutdoors Loads of places in Northumberland to pitch up Mick, just depends on your fitness levels and how high you like to camp, or if you prefer woodlands / moors etc If I can point you in any directions please feel free to ask. The A1 past the Metrocentre is only daft busy as peak times, it's not so bad mid morning or early afternoon ;)

Good choice Mick . Mirage and Hydra are both great value for money tents , both perform pretty well in the wind . About 18 month back there were loads of these on ebay as factory seconds (albeit the older version) , only thing was there were no groundsheet in the porch . Not a problem . Got mine for seventy quid . Does the job . Nice choice of dog too 😁 Love to the Mrs 💚👍
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to comment really appreciated 😊, yeh no footprint with this but apparently the helvellyn one fits and covers the porch area to, think its currently 25 quid on amazon so might get it if my efforts to make a homemade one fail, Ollys a nuisance at times he's obsessed with giving everyone loves and kisses and thinks he has to be involved in everything I do 😂😂 wouldn't change him for the world though ♥️👍
