- South Carolina Court of Appeals has suspended #AlexMurdaugh’s appeal on murder convictions, remanding the case back to the circuit.
A hearing is ordered to investigate jury tampering allegations involving the court clerk.

“ IF” it’s proven that there was Jury tampering then those involved should face severe penalties including Jail time. They have literally wasted millions of dollars & put a valid murder conviction in jeopardy.

If these allegations turn out to be true & Murdaugh receives a new trial think of the money she would have wasted, the courts time, putting a valid conviction in jeopardy? If he ended up in Club Fed it would be better than that constant pressure from Maggie always making him feel like he didn't give enough plus she raised entitled bratty children to bring shame to him. Yes Buster got kicked out of school for cheating they try to make it look like he's a nice boy and everything but whatever. Maggie wanted more money but even though the boys were grown she wasn't going to go out and bring a little cash into the house she was college-educated she could have held down some kind of position to keep her busy and give enough money for all those remodeling repairs she wanted with her little beach house.

3:53 I wonder how much money it took for four jurors to come up with that. Alex, spending all that money on drugs? Nope, Alex put at least some of that money back. That was the lie because you can't possibly physically do that Many drugs a day not of that kind before your body nods out and you can't do anymore. Even if he had a high tolerance. Also there's no possible way he was taking thar many physically. Also, there's no way he could have kept his mind clear to keep up with everything he was doing.

@marieassaad-faltas1299 ½ way thru that I was thinking, "What? But I hear you. It was a passing thought... she SHOULD know better than that if it happened that way. She's been @ that job a while!! I really do feel Murdaugh hid some money. Otherwise, how's he still paying Dick & Jim?
Exactly, that's what I've been saying from the start, it's not physically possible and still be alive besides the fact, where are you gonna get that quantity every month in that small town. I can't get one pain pill from a Dr for legit chronic pain let alone $50,000 worth a month.

Why criminals get to manipulate the system enough to supercede the justice due the victims and their family and friends, is beyond the rest of us..
He was presumed innocent once..found guilty...got the sentence he's earned for himself..DONE..
While I totally understand your opinion (and agree) as it pertains to this case, it's also important to point out that there ARE people wrongfully found guilty. I stand by the saying "It is better that ten guilty individuals escape, than that one innocent suffer".
If his claims are true, the clerk should be fired 🤷🏻♀️

This is tragic.
Let’s spend another 6 weeks and tax payers dollars to retry him. If the allegations are true, shame on the clerk of court. She knows better! It’s going to open a can of worms. What else has she supposedly done? If a retrial, the evidence that was in the first trial is coming back in, imo. I’m not sure though.

Just because we all know he's guilty does not mean he shouldn't get a fair trial free from a clerks bias. If the judge investigated improper handling of this trial and found evidence to substantiate the claims, then he absolutely should get a new trial and the clerk should be fired and charged with tampering. Every trial she took part in will then have to be evaluated to ensure nothing similar was done. So this isn't just about Alex, this has a deeper reach than just Alex, if in fact it is found that she acted improperly. The goal isn't to get a murderer off but to ensure that every American has faith in our judicial system.

Good decision! I think the jury tampering and letting the financial crimes come in resulted in a dubious murder conviction. We didnt hear enough about the drug connections or the boat accident in my opinion. I think the Stephen Smith case may also be relevant from the point of view of unexplained murders in the area.

I've been in courtrooms dozens of times and there's theatrics with knowing looks between judges and lawyers etc. Rolling eyes etc. It's improper but what happens. It can happen in any social situation too but let's not throw common sense out. Alec had lawyers. There were bailiffs . A great judge. Have the hearing but the evidence is intense

Also, shockingly, it has been reported that Becky Hill's bailiffs were receiving tips from guided tours of the Colleton County courthouse, which tours Becky Hill organized or at least authorized.
The money corruption from all sides is sad but needs PUBLIC correction now that it has been made public.

During the trial it was quite obvious that she was playing up to the camera at every opportunity!! Her book was nothing short of a desire for attention/fame and money! I believe AM is right where he belongs. That said, if all of the allegations are true and can be proven, he and the defense should be granted a new trial. Also, charges should be filed against the clerk.

I dont think it would get a retrial they couldve just presented the evidence presented and argue regardless of that person's big mouth, the Jury wouldve concluded "guilty" its a pretty strong evidence especially the video and I dont think the Jury have based their verdict base on her comments.

I dont think these allegations will stand.
The real issue here is whether AM received a fair trial as guaranteed by our US constitution. As a lawyer for over 40 years, I watched the entire trial and was appalled by the numerous errors by the judge and the prosecutor. I wasn’t even aware of this court clerk telling the jurors before AM testified, that AM is a liar and should not be believed. All of us should want proper constitutionally valid trials for defendants. Just correct the errors and retry him. Make it right.

I'm so curious on what errors you picked up on as a lawyer! As a layperson, I found the prosecution quite sloppy, and ultimately I thought they did a poor job at tying it all together. One of the most infuriating parts for me was listening to Peter Rudofski and watching his slideshow with the cellphone data that contained MANY errors. I had second-hand embarrassment.
It still doesnt mean its gonna happen .. says there is going to be a hearing part of a last desperate attempt .. .
