Thanks Marty this is my 7th year with you, i'm 62 now. I have way too much fun and lots of instruments. Buying my first Pedal Board this week. Donner DB-3 Guitar Pedal Board. Dig the beard, I've had my beard for 45 years. Peace Brother Keep Rockin
I'm five days into guitar and absolutely loving it.. your beginner lessons are great and your how to play videos are super easy to follow even for beginners. Two songs I would love for you to teach are Diary of a Working Man by Blackfoot and Saturday Night Special by Conway Twitty. Thanks and keep up the great work!
He's done Rocky Mountain Way before. I'd give it a pass though because Marty plays slide like Derek Trucks: Very technical, finger-picked, bottleneck on the ring finger, using an SG. It's almost the polar opposite to Joe Walsh's rowdy, conventionally-picked, bottleneck on the middle finger style.
This is the real thing. Such a great tune with a great display of the attitude, the sound, and the humor of a truly great guitarist...and your breakdown of it is like the secret of making magic with a guitar is being handed to me. I like this more than is really possible to say on the internet. 10 thumbs up!!!
Would you like to come to my house tonight for a hard boil egg? I will run you a bath. People complain that I smell quite terrible. I hope you don't mind me wearing my socks in bed. Bring a photograph of an ostrich as a gift for me.
Thank you Marty, for every song ive learned from you. Which is atleast 10. Thanks for playing the song in your opening clip i use that so much, after i got the music down. Then i get to play along with you. I wishing you all the best. Keep up the great work!
Hey Marty! Just wanted to say thank you for being such an awesome teacher!!! I’ve only been learning for about a year(ish) and I’ve learnt more from you than from anywhere else. You make everything so clear and easy to understand! And above all, you always make me laugh and have fun while I’m learning. I just invested in a Fender Stratocaster American Special after having played a cheap old second hand guitar, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done! I love it so much. Im so excited to continue on my guitar journey, and I don’t think I’d have been as consistent with practicing were it not for your channel! Don’t ever stop!!! \m/
When I first attempted to learn this song I thought Joe was using a slide on some of the parts so I tuned my guitar to G or A I don't remember which but the singing part always stumped me, we didn't have the Internet back then. Now I can see what he's doing and coupled with your lesson it's much easier. Thanks.
I've been subscribed to you for several years and I really appreciate your tutorials. I started by watching Keith urban 30 songs in 30 days. He taught me the basics but I learn all my favorite songs from you. So thank you so much! Will u please do a tutorial for everything changes by staind? I've looked everywhere online and can't find one. I'd love to be able to play that song. It's one of my favorites
man what a great song to learn good technique fundamentals. Perfecting those bends and slides is what makes playing this not necessarily hard but it takes practice if you want it to sound legit.
I'm like forty something behind in you tube clips I'm subscribed to, and on my way to listen to them all, but! 😃 So happy to just stumble onto this in what I guess turns into a suggester page of you tube. Absolutely love both: Joe Walsh and Marty❣️❣️So much fun. ❤🥳 I want to play my guitar all day! 🎉
What I have found is that many of the little tricks that you use in one song cones up in others. This song is tough but so many worthwhile things to practice which will help later on.
Mark you seem like such a nice guy, always pleasant and a very good teacher. You also visit some players I have been blessed to play guitar with myself. Some truly ace players that I feel are underrated. Thanks for your excellent lessons.
Did again brother! Love your lessons! Kind of had a handle on this, You showed me all the finer points I was definitely missing! Thank you so much! Love your lessons🤜🏽🤠🍻
Would you be able to do the solo lesson for Boston's "More than a feeling" please?? I know there are lessons available by other people but I really do find your lesson as the easiest one to follow
out of all the guys doing this stuff on utubei tend to come back to your stuff usually i can grab enough of the stuff your teaching to put something together that sounds reconizable to who ever im playing for (trying to show off) gotta say lifes been good was very hard to put something together maybe alittle too advanced for me ,then i heard the cover by the guy from detroit ,,u know ,one of those guys who buys a awsome song and records the best parts sells it kids that never heard orginal then calls it his own would love a lesson on the cover so i can jam in tribute to joe welsh
What an epic tone you created for this one. Can you do lessons on some more of his less popular tunes? He’s got so many tasteful that you can’t even find the key of online.
I thought playing an electric would be easy for me but turns out like most things i learned it was a disaster i finally got my acoustic in tune thanks to you. 10 weeks and counting so far........
Just found you will definitely be lookin some more. Just going through learning to play again my life was good to me up until two half yrs ago, Wam-bang motor cycle crash. Like the style /dsound
WOW! wtf, I just looked this up today randomly cause no one had a tutorial on this (that was good imo) and to see marty pop up only posted a few hours ago, a good feeling. Thanks Marty!
Hey Marty-I’ve been watching your lessons for years (since your beginning on UA-cam). Now, I know that “When the Levee Breaks” by Led Zeppelin is a ton of improv, but it would truly mean the world to me to see your take on it. All the best, J. Shalome.
gotta love "The Marty" always fun to learn from " The Swartz ". Keep on Truckin " Marty. (If you were a sixties and early seventies teenager you've seen the " keep on truckin " dude) you may have if you are younger. Great jams Marty.
Lynyrd Skynyrd's, I need you. I have seen some covers but, no one teaches that awesome scale play. It may be a two part video. I'm sure you can get it done.💪🎸 Thanks.
THANK YOU!!!!! I've been waiting for this for a very long time. My one complaint is that you sped up the tempo. The song is supposed to have this slow groove to it, one that goes along with the kick-drum that leads into the main riff.
Thanks so much for supporting MartyMusic, also I have a ton of FREE courses at my site www.MartyMusic.com
Thanks Marty this is my 7th year with you, i'm 62 now.
I have way too much fun and lots of instruments.
Buying my first Pedal Board this week. Donner DB-3 Guitar Pedal Board.

When is the next little wing and Texas flood srv and Jimi Hendrix!!!!!

Marty can you please do a tutorial for “When someone stops loving you” By Little Big Town please please please
Marty, I wish you would teach 'Walking in Memphis" by Mark Cohn. 👍👍
I think Joe Walsh should be on everyone's top 5 list. ✌️
Oh, and a happy belated birthday Mr Marty....... healthy and prosperous....
Thanks!
I too wish Marty a happy belated birthday
Happy birthday I love you you are aswome
Marty and Joe come together, two guitar heroes, I don't know how far I'll get with this, but by hell, I'll have a great time trying. You can't not.
Amazing! Triads 6:10, Verse 8:30, Chorus 9:30, C w/d 11:00,
Thank you for the “life is good” lesson Marty. Gotta love Joe Walsh!!
Just reached back into your archives and dug this golden nugget up!!! GLORIOUS!!! You, good Sir, make people happy!! Now I just need that guitar!!!
not saying im old but loved this song when I was in high school and it just came out. had the cassette and vinyl
Ditto! I saw him in Watsonville CA in '87.. he is such a chill guy!
Holy shit yes I’ve been waiting on this one for so long I love joe Walsh can you please do a lesson on Rocky Mountain way or long cool woman
Nice, thanks for supporting "MartyMusic" Matthew
He's done Rocky Mountain Way before. I'd give it a pass though because Marty plays slide like Derek Trucks: Very technical, finger-picked, bottleneck on the ring finger, using an SG. It's almost the polar opposite to Joe Walsh's rowdy, conventionally-picked, bottleneck on the middle finger style.
Furious Sherman I’ve seen it it’s inspired by Rocky Mountain way it’s not really it I’d like to se him do a real lesson on it
Start off with a barre E powerchord and use an Add13 bounce like a Chuck Berry tune. You'll get a feel for it in a hurry.
Spent the last year...
This is the real thing. Such a great tune with a great display of the attitude, the sound, and the humor of a truly great guitarist...and your breakdown of it is like the secret of making magic with a guitar is being handed to me.

All the dislikes must’ve been Joe Walsh’s accountants 😂
I like what you did there 🤣🤣
Best comment haha

Freaking sweet lesson Marty! Such a classic tune. Keep 'em coming! 🤘
Thank you Marty, for every song ive learned from you. Which is atleast 10. Thanks for playing the song in your opening clip i use that so much, after i got the music down. Then i get to play along with you. I wishing you all the best. Keep up the great work!

Marty, You explain and demonstrate things for me better than any others I’ve looked at. Thank you!
What I have found is that many of the little tricks that you use in one song cones up in others. This song is tough but so many worthwhile things to practice which will help later on.
Thanks Marty I love this song, and you covered it perfectly.
You have saved many gigs for me man. Great videos
Mark you seem like such a nice guy, always pleasant and a very good teacher. You also visit some players I have been blessed to play guitar with myself. Some truly ace players that I feel are underrated. Thanks for your excellent lessons.
