- How to flat pick this 1970 song from Traffic's album of the same name. This song is based on an English folk song dating back to the 17th century; Steve Winwood still likes to play it live. Part 1 has a play through and breaks down the introduction; part 2 breaks down the verse and chorus. Capo on the 7th fret. Standard Tuning. Key of E minor. Thanks for watching.
I learned to play this song with these two videos thank you
Great video. Yay Montclair State ! My alma mater, 1980. 👏
Brilliant lesson. I really want to get into flat picking as opposed to just picking out bass notes. I love this song and this could just be the push I need. Many thanks. 👍👍👏🏻👏🏻😊😊
Tough one to sing if you don't have that voice that could head up there as Winwood has, isn't it?
Excellent tutorial on this. Thanks.
Great lesson, thanks for posting!
Thank you for 5he lesson , I’ve learnt the song, thanks!
Thanks, Tom, this is great. I’m going to have to find that capo of mine
Excelente, muchas gracias, saludos desde México.
Fantastic lesson!!
Mille grazie from Italy
i used to listen to this song like crazy. theres a video of winwood doing it solo recently - in his home (supposedly).
great lesson.
Thanks. I've seen that video and it's great because he still has it. I'm going to see him next month.
He's got an amazing set up in that vid. The amps in the background look pretty expensive
I love that video and I use it to work on the vocals. His voice is just so perfect for this song. Sadly mine is not.
Well done and thanks for posting this. Great voice too!
actually the song lyrics are based on a poem by the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
Burns did write it down, but he was writing his version of a traditional ballad.
Thanks for the awesome tutorial. This is song is great but rather mystifying....
The song is about making whiskey from barley
@@leowoning916 Erm, right, but I meant it's mystifying to play....LOL
Great job. One thing tho. Slow. Down.
is it me or does your finger tipping sounds false, cuz' according to me this sounds more like you didn't push all the strings, but I know you did. for me according to my ears, guitar, and song this sounds a little bit off.. no offense keep the good work up!
Anti - Fluid if you’re a player, good point. If you’re not, listening a few times (eyes closed)
may help
Slow it down brother
ty but is that really a D chord ?NO! its a D shape. this to me is a big fail in teaching music to the blind
