This feels like the best answer in the comments so far. There were other people making attempts too, but this one feels like it takes into account the fact that it's a *geologist* coming into the music shop. So you won my internet point for this video. ;)

Hey Gopher, was going theu your playlists and found the Fallout 3 TTW, the character creation scene was epic thanks for the outstanding content.
A man went into a music shop
A man went into a music shop looking for a new instrument.
The owner introduced him to a lot of different instruments: flutes, trumpets, drums and guitars but none of them caught the man's interest.
The man nearly gives up when he spots a saxophone hanging in the corner. He tries it and it really has that sound he was looking for, except it lacks something he can't quite put his finger on.
Man: "I really like this saxophone, but can you do something to improve the sound, perhaps make it more rock'n'roll?"
Owner: "Well I guess I could hook you up to this amplifier?"
Man: "yea that would be great, but what I really want is for the saxophone itself to have that rock'n'roll feeling"
Owner: "I think I've got just the thing!"
So the owner takes the saxophone into the back and comes back some time later. Now the saxophone is fitted with a guitar neck, pick-ups and a cool classic rock paint job.
Owner: "I had some spare parts lying around from an old Fender Stratocaster, so I've modified your saxophone to get that feeling you were after. What do you think?"
The man is besides himself with joy, pays right away and begins to leave to take his new instrument home with him and begin his new career as a rock musician.
Owner: "Hang on! Before you leave. Would you like me to register your new purchase to your name? saves a lot of trouble if there's any problems down the line."
Man: "No way! I'm not gonna bring a registered Sax-o-Fender into my house!"

*Pleas overlook any possible misspellings as this is an ancient language and those of us who have learned the language are also ancient and may have forgotten how to spell these words but can speak them fluently and with great purpose and force.
Very frustrating that sharing evidence uncovered isn't a thing.
Some of the funnier moments when playing the game were when I went to activate the scanner and hit the G key by mistake and chucked a grenade past Barrett's head. He didn't think that was funny. And forgetting I had the gravity wave set instead of detect life and knocked him on his butt...fortunately he had a good sense of humor about it.
Actually Gopher, I read that some scientists had calculated that 'intelligent' aliens would likely be bipedal, upright creatures with two eyes facing forward. So if they are right then 'intelligent' aliens may well look 'humanoid'.
Doubt they'd have similar proportions (or boobs) :)

Seriously though, our solar system was thought to be "typical", until we started finding Extra solar planetary systems. Come to find out, the Universe doesn't really care our preconceptions.
@@realkarfixer8208I can't provide the source, but I do remember something that Brian Cox said once ( I forget which interview or podcast) but it was determined that intelligent life is likely prone to evolving into the basic shape of humans, due to the versatility of the build. Forward facing predatory eyes, bipedal with at least two arms, omnivores, etc. Not necessarily mammalian or mammal analog in nature, but the over all build. And he was citing a study done by others, as he isn't a biologist (just scary smart). But tbf, he then stated that considering the intelligence of cephalopods that may just be human ego talking.
From now on I shall call Quantum essences "AWooey Hoos!" lol. Correct me if I got the spelling wrong.

Every scenario Gopher suggested for the temples and artifacts is better than the actual answer.
Spoiler alert ahead for anyone who doesn't want to know anything regarding the story.
What do you mean? There is no answer. The story never actually explains where the temples or artifacts came from. The Starborn are just humans who also happened to come across the artifacts and temples and made it into the unity to travel into a different universe.
Edit: Also, I personally like that Starfield didn't just do some generic Sci-fi story. This whole Unity thing is way more interesting than just another sci-fi story with the same exact tune where apparently humans didn't actually come from earth.
While I agree, I DO honestly enjoy the reasoning behind at least the Halo series's "reseeding life" explanation. Though I do wish they stuck to their original idea of the forerunners being ancient humans. They kind of jumped the shark with what came after the 3rd installment.
I hope there's an episode where it ends up like the outpost episode and it's just gopher trinkering with ship builder and testing ships.
Btw gopher have you seen the Astroneer mod? I'm not sure if you enjoy ship building (referencing current playthrough) but that is a good money maker and a great way to "practice" ship making before you make your own. :)

I don't understand why you don't just upgrade the Frontier with B-class components.
Money. I was saving up for a new ship, although by this point I was also open to the idea that I could 'acquire' a ship, and find one I like and then upgrade that. Either option would require money though. So I didn't want to use too much on the Frontier. And if you next question is "Why not just stick with the Frontier and upgrade it?" .... Basically I didn't want to change it's character too much. I wanted a ship I could pretty much mangle and not feel bad about it :)

Yeah, I agree with some of the other comments. Gopher's ideas of what the mystery is are all surprisingly plausible scenarios for what's going on here. :)

its so agravating that he is on a planet yet refuses to finish scanning it to get the most profit from Virgil*all the flora/fauna/minerals/sites* then follows that up with complaining he doesnt have the cash for new ships. I luv ya Gopher but ya drive me nuts!!!

Running around looking for same same things to klick on is boring AF.
The amount of money you get from those scans is so small it's just not remotely worth it. You can board a single pirate/bounty hunter and loot ten times as much in value, take less time to do it, and have actual fun at the same time :)

You'd get a lot of Experience if you Kill the Terrormorphs on the planet 38:52 just dial the difficulty down while you're killing the Terrormorphs... It'll take less ammo and headshots are Mandatory.
So in case you're wondering what Quantum Essence is... It's something that the Starborn Drop that Fuels Your Starborn Powers. Don't worry it'll take a little time to figure out what that actually means, I looked it up but I still don't understand it I think I would actually have to play in order to figure this out. When you face starborn enemies, the quantum essence that they leave behind increases your overall StarBorn power, basically it allows you to use more powers at a time.

The only thing I think they could be referring to is being able to choose your gender in character creation. It's quite astounding that is what people call "woke" these days. I do know some crazy people made it into a big deal though.
