Being a hardcore introvert prevents me from being able to share living space with anyone lol...but seriously. Glad you made it safely! Do seasonal work positions have offer any type of rv parking or accommodations? I could probably manage that and try it for a season. Hope everything goes well for you 💙
There are some places that have RV parking spots that you can use instead of housing. You bring your own RV and pay like $5 a day for the spot. There are also some seasonal jobs that offer single rooms.
Good perks in the room. When I worked at Grand Canyon in 1989, there was no TV, fridge, or microwave in the room. And the sink, shower, and toilets were down the hall in a community bathroom. But we each had our own closets and the room was a little bigger than this one. I guess there are trade-offs in everything.....
Really Tim... Dawn dish soap?? Is there something wrong with Dove, Irish Spring or inexpensive Swuave? The room is small and neat.. I hope your roommate is neat also. Do you pay more for a single room? How long is the job for? Thanks for the tour.
They don't offer single rooms here. This room is $10/day. Yeah I hope I get a neat roommate too lol. And I don't know why I always preferred Dawn. I think it was just the first brand I picked years ago lol.
Hi Timothy....just looking in your room I like... Tours of spaces....could u switcharoo that bookcase and the roommates dresser...this way it in middle and u could easily grab a book from bookshelf without having to walk across room next to the other bed? Just thinking.....G. p.s. Is the altitude different in Montana...did u get light headed when u first moved to Colorado?....Im native to N.Y. ...in have never been "up there in them there hills b fer"...lol I watched too many cowboy movies.
This is a nice room, fridge, tv, microwave wow.... I did a Coolworks gig once, the room was horrible--old moley--and I had a roommate.....no tv..no fridge... I use dish soap to it's the BEST--doesn't bother my skin.....
Hey TIm! Just got a job offer at Big Sky too. Housing is 2 hour bus ride to the hotel where I work... I think I remembered you had that type of housing before, how was it for you?
I'm not going to lie Anthony, spending 3 to 4 hours on a bus everyday isn't ideal but it can be done. Most people just sleep on the trip up in the morning, and talk to friends on the trip back. It can pass pretty quickly some days. And you get used to it after awhile.
My son stayed in moab UT at Worldmark had a huge duplex. You need to ck it out ,they are hiring hardcore right now. My son is headed to Colorado Bear Creek/Vail resort. I heard big sky housing, had some of the units closed down. My son roommate when he was at Moab Utah, come from Big Sky running 😅
I stayed in employee housing at Skyland in VA. Was pretty rough but I had the room to myself for almost the whole time. Actually ended up having the building mostly to myself at times lol it was nice. But I had to clean the fuck out of the room and the shared bathroom shower area. I miss those days all the time..
I sure hope you’re joking about using Dawn as a body wash. That’s very damaging to your skin. I used it as a flea repellant for my dogs. If you’re looking for something cheap, then you can by a soap bar from the dollar store. Doesn’t get much cheaper than that. Nice digs, but I would feel claustrophobic- I would have to have way more windows than that. But I guess when it’s free rent, you have to go with what they give you.
I've used Dawn for like 10 years now. I started using it when I worked as a landscaper in Florida because it helped to get poison ivy off my skin when I showered. And I just never stopped lol. I haven't seen any skin issues
That makes Vail employee housing look amazing. Lol I do like all the storage it has And I noticed you got some healthier food! Keep it up. Lol I need to start paying more attention to my diet too. I've been on the McDonald's diet for the last week or two 😂
Brittani, they actually lowered the deposit to $150 this season. You have to pay it in advance but you get $100 of that back at the end of the season I believe.
YOUtuBeCritic There’s no equating the two... I think in logic that’s called a false equivalency ..... I have flawless beautiful skin and beautiful lungs... don’t smoke thankfully. Just had my yearly physical!
@@TimothyWard - now that's a BUDGET tip! Seriously...we're guys...we can use anything. People are amazed that I shave my head with plain ol' soap instead of some $12 a can stuff.
none... i stayed at the chutes, its the highest price ... it was nice cuz you get youre own room, just hope and be lucky you get an end unit so you only have two roommates lol!! Mammoth is the shit.... you will enjoy it a lot,i was there 16 17 season and was the most snow ive ever seen in my life!!!
I've never had an issue with theft in the past. Mainly I'm just very picky about who I allow in my room. And I don't really have too many valuables so that helps lol
Timothy Ward Smart, but you can just ask for a new roommate when you don’t like someone? Is that awkward? Do you have to have a good reason? And in so far as valuables, I mean camera and laptop.
Timothy Ward I’m going to work seasonally next year to travel around and I’m not sure if I should have a car either. Seems like a waste of money considering it’s a lot of miles to put on the vehicle going from job to job. Insurance, maintenance/tires, gas etc all on a low paying job is just added stress. I just wonder how hard life on the road is without a vehicle. I watched your video on the subject, it’s my biggest decision right now because I’m getting the finances in order.
Timothy Ward Basically the plan is to use CoolWorks for jobs in US national parks for 3/4 of the year and backpack on time off and save a little cash and then the next 1/4 of the year use WorkAway or WWOOF to travel to another country. I’m putting my stuff in storage, which isn’t a lot. I’m thinking a 2 year run would be a good way to get around and meet new people and possible find new opportunities. I’m also considering creating a UA-cam channel to post videos of the lifestyle, especially when I go lightweight backpacking. I can probably get away with having one medium suitcase with my everyday clothes and one backpack with all my camping gear.
I wash clothes with Dawn. It gets the oils out of the fibers and it's more economical than Tide or other brand name that y'all are convinced is the only detergent that works! Have y'all ever questioned that belief you have about products?
Oh no! No roommates for me... But looks good!

I’d wanna be on the side of the room with the window, just in case I’ve got to make an escape. 😳😳😳😳
I like the other bed so the attackers get my roommate first lol
😂
Any reason why u chose that bed? Cause the door?
I like to be closer to the toilet for the inevitable middle of the night leak
Andy
😂😂😂
Do it man id love to check more out about what your day to days are like there
I've washed my clothes with Dawn before. Good stuff. Probably save a ton of money bathing with Dawn. Bath soap is RIDICULOUS expensive

I'll be in that lodging for the winter season this winter. Looking forward to it
Hey!! Why not swap the tall shelf and roommate dresser so its in middle? That way you can share it. Hope to see more of the resort!
That's actually a great idea lol. That's why I need other people in my life lol
@@TimothyWard lol teamwork!
Would the shelving unit fit between the beds?

I never got lightheaded lol, but it was a little hard to breath until I got used to the altitude.
On my way to work at Big Sky from Connecticut now! They got me in the hotels for now but hopefully I’ll get to move to the dorms soon
This is a nice room, fridge, tv, microwave wow.... I did a Coolworks gig once, the room was horrible--old moley--and I had a roommate.....no tv..no fridge... I use dish soap to it's the BEST--doesn't bother my skin.....
Yeah the rooms here definitely have extras that other seasonal jobs don't provide.
Is there a community kitchen with a stove or oven where you could cook your own food if you get hungry in between the meals they provide?
No there is no community kitchen. I think the most you can have is a hot plate.

Those shared bathrooms can be an issue lol. Been there done that.

What happened to your apartment in Colorado and all of your stuff in it?
My lease was up so I decided not to renew. I got rid of everything that wouldn't fit into two suitcases.
You bathe with Dawn Dish soap. Is there an advantage over regular bar soap or shower gel??
The main advantage is that it's cheap lol
@@TimothyWard lol..not good for skin..takes out natrual protectant oils. Get some cheap body wash..Dollar Tree has it.
Yes, you can buy soap from the dollar store.
Hey manI just applied for a winter job there. hope I get it! Looking to travel and room there, sounds fun. Any suggestions?
Would you need a car at big sky? And would my housing look like this at the resort? Thinking about accepting a winter position.
That makes Vail employee housing look amazing. Lol I do like all the storage it has
And I noticed you got some healthier food! Keep it up. Lol I need to start paying more attention to my diet too. I've been on the McDonald's diet for the last week or two 😂
Yeah I've got a buddy here who is going to help me start eating healthier. And I'm going to start working out as well. Gotta make some changes.
@@TimothyWard good choice! Lol I need to get back to eating right too 😂
get me a job their tim haha please !!! looks like paradise !
Tim... why you puttin dawn on your body? That stuff is harsh
Was he joking about that or is bathing with dawn dish soap really a thing?😳
Looks nice and tidy. Is there a lock on the door? Thanks for the tour.
Yes there are locks on the doors. Each roommate gets a key
Tim, I'm thinking about doing winter at big sky, I was told the room deposit is $300 upon arrival. Is that true? Did you have to pay an deposit?
Brittani, they actually lowered the deposit to $150 this season. You have to pay it in advance but you get $100 of that back at the end of the season I believe.
Would you say Yellowstone was similar to this? Or possibly have any photos of Yellowstone so I can get a idea of what their dorms looked like ?
I'll see if I have an old pic from Yellowstone
Whats the pet policy? And is there internet provided?
Not bad!
Love it bro
Timothy, how many 50 and older people do the seasonal work jobs at the places you have worked the last few years?
There are usually a fair amount of people 50+ at each seasonal job I go to. I'd say about 10% or more.
You bathe with dawn dish soap u said? Isnt that bad for the skin?
Disagree..... dish soap does NOT bother my skin...been using it for years
YOUtuBeCritic There’s no equating the two... I think in logic that’s called a false equivalency .....
I have flawless beautiful skin and beautiful lungs... don’t smoke thankfully. Just had my yearly physical!
Do all employees have roommates? I don't mind it, but it would be so sweet to get that whole room to yourself haha.
Here at Big Sky everyone has to have a roommate. There are no single occupancy rooms.
@@TimothyWard Okay thanks!
I wanna know more about the Dawn...lol... I use it at work as a flea repellant when I spray for fleas..
I just use it because it's cheap lol. $2 and it lasts you for 6 months lol
@@TimothyWard ok...lol...ill have to try it.
You would get a larger amount of body wash for a $1 @ DT (Dollar Tree). Just sayin'.
@@TimothyWard - now that's a BUDGET tip! Seriously...we're guys...we can use anything. People are amazed that I shave my head with plain ol' soap instead of some $12 a can stuff.
Hello Tim
How much is accommodation there
I think it was around $15/day. But that was back in 2019. I’m not sure what they are charging nowadays.
Why not take all 4 hanging shelves since you're giving him the 4 vertical shelves?
He's going to need somewhere to hang his clothes too
@@TimothyWard Split the hanging space but you keep the 4 shelves above it?
I think i might be working at Mammoth in CA, any dog friendly housing?

Internet access?
Did you bring a car?
No I came without a car. There is a local bus and one that takes you into Bozeman
What do u do there?
Hotel housekeeper
Is there wifi
Yes but it’s not that good lol

Damn brother that's basic as fook, peace be on the both of you
