- I'm comparing twins and triplets (and accidentally quadruplets) in Sims 2 vs. Sims 3 vs. Sims 4. Each game has its own ways of increasing odds for multiples and creating them in CAS. From Sims 2, where triplets weren't even possible, to Sims 4 where identical twins are created with a single click.

CORRECTION: I've been informed that identical twins do exist in The Sims 4. Apparently, there is a 33% chance of identical twins in TS4 only. They will be born with identical hair, clothes, etc. If your twins don't have the same hair and clothing, they are not identical.

The lot trait 'dark key line' will also make twins more likely. If people don't have city living but have the vampire pack.
I've had the most twins/triplets in sims4 bc I was doing the Duggar challenge. I got to 19 before my computer decided that's too many sims for one household.
Btw someone posted a cool custom world called cottage hills in the r/sims2 forums recently.
And if you read kid books watch kids tv and and listen to kids radio it makes it easier to have twins and triplets in the Sims 4 during pregnancy in the base game
I'm continually shocked at the level of detail put in to sims 2. Actually having twins run in families is amazing and i wish it appeared in later games
I thought there was a feature in either ts3 or ts4 that makes twins more likely to have twins too? One of my twins in ts4 got twins too as her first pregnancy without fertility treatment, I thought I had heard something like that so I wasn't surprised
In sims 3 my main sim had 2 sets of twins and when they grew up they had twins
That is so cool. I’ve just started up with Sims 2 again now that the Super Collection finally works on Mac. Nina just had twins with Don. My plan for him is to have children with all the single ladies in Pleasantview. It should be interesting when I get to Kaylynn, now that I know she’s got the modifier.

idk if it was a coincidence but i had a household where having twins also ran in the family by complete surprise, i didn't use cheats or mods
Once (sims 4) I had a female sim who hated children become pregnant. When she went on labor, she had triplets. I didn't do anything to have this and I didn't have mods. It was hell for her lol.
Same with me! I had a storyline planned for one girl sim and my sim had triplet boys 😂
Lmao triplets seem to only ever happen when you don't expect them the most. I also had a storyline planned for a female sim was was planning on taking it easy with kids. She had adopted her nephew, given birth to a girl of similar age to the nephew, and then I had her pregnant with what I wanted to be the 3rd and last child (I had even purposely made the house so it fits a family with 3 kids) but then to my surprise... the family count jumped from 2 to 5 children... It was so unexpected that I initially thought some bug was going on when I clicked already twice to confirm baby's name yet it was there for a 3rd time.

11:36 I was gonna say I don't recommend mixing the various fertility treatments because you can end up with quadruplets instead of twins 😂 (it happened in my game once or twice)

My heart has never sunk faster then when my single mom sim decided to have one last kid with her new boyfriend. It was not in fact one more kid it was twins

Actually, if you do all the things you did to boost fertility so extremely - there IS a chance of having quadruplets in the vanilla Sims 3!

That's incorrect. It's not actually in the games code without mods. But there's a glitch that can rarely happen in the sims 3 where for some reason the game just glitches out and has a sim have an extra baby. In single or twin pregnancies it's not noticeable because you just assume you had twins or triplets. But when you already had triplets and get the glitch, then yeah, you get quads.
I had a similar surprise to you with the Sims 3 quadruplets - TWICE ! 8 babies came out of my poor sim during her lifetime :D
I gave one couple both the fertility reward. 6 babies in two pregnancies.
...and I decided that they would get pregnant within a day after their first round of kids.
Hahahaha. And the parents both disliked children and were evil. That was a fun save.

My sim has had 15 children and 4 pregancies 😂 she was going to stop at 11, but all 11 children died when a meteor hit the school.

the last time i had twins in the sims 2 it was with the broke family. brandi gave birth to twins and then died out of the sudden (she was like nope, i ain't dealing with this) lol so dustin was left alone with his three siblings. the best part was that everything happened under the rain

Even though having identical twins in any game is not technically possible, I've often had twins that looked so similar that I would tweak one slightly to look more identical to their sibling and just pretend they were born identical. It spruces things up!
I have had identical twins in the sims 4. I can't tell them apart in CAS and they age up looking identical every time.
@Pamela Amyotte Yes it happens in sims 4! I've had 100% identical before too, but it can be attributed to random chance also.
I've played my game since 2008 and I still jump with excitement every time I see the TWO babies pop up.
The first time I’ve ever had multiple children at once in all my years of playing (2006-Now) was playing a Legacy challenge in Sims 4. I nearly gave up the save file just repeating the same things with those 3 babies while trying to work! Also, it doesn’t notify you, so I just ended up naming all three of them the same thing by accident haha. Great vid as always! 🖤

I gave the fertility boost my sim and her husband in Sims 3 hoping for twins- what I didn't count in was ending up with my first pair of triplets in an all ready tiny house x.x I always found it easiest in Sims 3 even with just that boost
I had the Ottomas family have 10 kids using mods. They all had those weird eyes. They are almost like the Habsburgs of the Sims 2. I might play them again and try breeding out those awful genetics.

Technically the second, but I cheated his first abduction and first alien child because I had a story going so it doesn't count. I was not expecting the game to randomly abduct him again when the first baby was still a toddler, and spontaneously give him triplets! I had just scrounged up enough money to finally build the first baby her own bedroom, I was NOT ready for 3 more 😂 Game literally went "so you want alien babies? here's some more, hf :) " things were Chaotic for a while, but I rolled with it, if anything it just reinforced the story 😂 the game needs more 🔥 Chaos 🔥 like this. He and Summer Holiday (his best friend) were pregnancy best buds, I like to thing they went to the same pregnancy classes 😂

I've seen that kind of thing a lot in Sims 2 stories. New family, just starting out, barely making any money; There are Two New Babies on the way! Thanks game. 4 babies are definitely chaos but fun chaos.

my guy got abducted and named his daughter Rigel, and he lived in an APARTMENT which already caused issues but it was part of the story AND THEN HE GETS ABDUCTED A G A I N
now he lives in a tiny cottage, the first baby is a toddler and i'm terrified of when the second one ages up cause we don't have room but i don't wanna send it back-
@@quinngobrr I feel you, space wasn't a problem but it was MONEY. I was counting simoles to eat after i built Roslyn (because Roswell, get it?) her room, then BOOM, moar babies 😱 I held off aging the babies to toddlers until she became a child and better able to care for herself. If you can hold off aging the baby until the older child ages to a child (this sentence sounds so weird 😆 ) then she'll be able to use a bunk bed, and you can use a bunk bed/toddler bed combo so both can sleep in the same space so you can save some... space 🤪
I remember in sims 3, I was doing the 100 baby challenge and I had two sets of quadruplets one after the other😓 It helped the challenge but I was going nuts with having 4 triplets and 4 babies all at the same time. I had the mod that allowed me to have more sims in the household so that’s why I was able to have so many children.

@@taniacrawford6104 The NRAAS mod has the option to set a chance for quadruplets, I had it at 1%. But that fertility reward trait really works😳
@@SmartySkirt oh I don't have any mods but it sounds really annoying. Once I had triplets because one of the other sims liked kids and it was so tedious and extremely annoying. I can't imagine 4 babies

One time I was playing TS2 and one of my male sims was abducted by aliens and later gave birth to two beautiful alien girls, and his best friend (a pretty grouchy lady scientist) moved to his house to help him with his kids (and secretly study them), at the end they ended up falling in love and getting married. Ah, what a game. UuU

Twins are definitely hereditary in the sims 4! I’ve had twins have twins multiple times.
Once I had Morgana Wolff get quadruples the same way! The genie power is really good. It was hard work, but she and Thornton make beautiful babies!😁

Recently I was just minding my own business, doing a 100 baby challenge, when I decided that it was time for another kid in the mix. Well, when it was time for my sim to give birth, she had not one, not two, not three but *four* children and that completely blindsided me. I knew that it had to be the work of one of my installed mods and honestly I still dont know which one lmao. Probably the same NRAAS mod as Cindy, since all but two of my mods were taken from the recommendation list on her site (thanks, by the way!). Was a wild ride though, they're all at the child stage now which has made things much more manageable haha. Doesn't help that at the same time as the female sim was pregnant, her husband had gotten abducted by aliens and was himself pregnant too, so it was 5 new children when I was only prepared for 2.
(Yes I'm aware I can send the alien child away but I always wanna raise them myself, it's fun)

I honestly could have sworn the ottomans family had triplets in my game when I was a kid and I didn’t use mods or cc at all. It defo was a glitch though as the family was of course over 8 sims and weird stuff started happening 😂😂

Yeah I remembered it happened to me and I was so confused bc of course the ottomas twins are iconic and well known as twins but my game was just like lol no let’s break and give 3 babies. I believe it only said “there’s two new babies” and she spun the 3rd time and I was so confused. I was like 10 so I didn’t realise it wasn’t a thing in the sims 2 to have triplets but rather it was just very rare and I knew nothing about mods or cc at that point so I have no idea how it happened 😂😂
The first time I had multiples was my first ever save file. My sim had twins and I started freaking out. I did not even have the on lay line or fertile trait! same with when one of my sims have triplets, no on ley line no fertile trait. triplets. I was so mad that my sim had triplets I named one farret

Jennifer and John Burb had twins in my Sims 2 game! Makes sense, since Daniel and Mary-Sue also had twins... In the Sims 3, I got a Story Progression pop up that my Sim had given birth to TRIPLETS by chance!

I remember my first pregnancy in the sims 4 resulted in triplets
The twins that look almost identical but aren't remind me of Mary Kate and Ashley; they're fraternal twins but looked practically identical when they were children (and still very, very similar now). Though, the be fair, I think their parents just have very strong genes (or a cloning machine), because Elizabeth looks very similar as well.

I actually got quadruplets for the first time yesterday when playing my sims 4 not so berry challenge, the generation where you are supposed to get a set of twins. My sims naturally got twins (checked with mccc) so I thought the game glitched when I suddenly had to name 4 babies at birth!
1 time my sims (ts4) had triplets and I was really shocked because I never thought that would happen to my sims and they already had 1 child
People who use the triplets/quadruplets mod for the Sims 2 are braver and stronger than the US marines could ever imagine being

Yeah, I had quads once, by having both of my Sims with all of the fertility traits/buffs. I don't play family style much, so I was a bit overwhelmed. Not really surprised you had quads, since the same thing happened to me.
“You can have quadruplets with mods but why would you torture yourself like that” proceeds to have quadruplets in the sims 3 because of a mod lmao
recently i just got triplets in sims 3 with no cheats or other methods...now that family has 5 kids
i was surprised that happened on its own and looking after them was so chaotic
Not too long ago I had a randomly generated maid that I ended up moving into the neighborhood. She got pregnant and I could just sense it was twins and I was right. I then also had the feeling she had the pregnancy modifier token so I checked in sims pe and sure enough she did. I still can't believe that happened it was amazing lol

this week two of my families in the sims 2 had twins 😭 first vidcund curious had twin alien babies & then regan capp had twins as well,,, so much chaos. i've definitely had twins the most in the sims 3 though, because i used to give every single sim i played the fertility treatment reward and the raise 5 children lifetime wish 😭

One time playing the sims 3 my sims couple had triplets and my sim husband had an alien baby at the same time. So my sim family had 4 newborns.

Once and only once in my life, I had triplets in TS2. I did not have the triplets mod, and my sim was originally only going to have one baby. I don't know what caused it, but my sim glitched in the middle of the birth animation, and the baby was on the floor. She repeated the animation and she glitched again, and there was another baby on the floor; and then she did it again, and that time the animation was completed and she didn't glitch, but there was another baby that came out of that! I don't know what caused it, but I remember my glitched triplets very dearly.
In the Sims 3 I have one very big super fertile family. They get only twins and triplets (12 children) but they are werewolves it's normal for them 😁

The sims 4 is the easiest to have twins with the On Ley Line (I think thats what its called) lot trait

I NEVER had triplets in the Sims 3 neither did I know it was possible. But I had them in the Sims 4, without me doing anything, so I was quite shocked when it happened. It was a freaking nightmare having to care for 3 babies once... Now I'm always scared when any of my sims get pregnant, this might happen again. XD

I was doing a generation challenge, so when it was time to have a baby my sims took a liking to playboy, Don. I did absolutely nothing to make them have more than a single baby. I was shocked when three babies arrive. So, I played around with Don’s fertility (aka made him try for babies while multiple sims). He made a couple more sets of twins. So, I wonder if the fertilize token from sims 2 is also in sims 4.

I know you said that in the sims 4 there is no such thing as identical twins, but I have had them twice in the 7 years I’ve been playing it. I’ve had many of the same gender that look almost the same but those 2 sets I swear on my life were identical. It’s funny because both times I only wanted one and planned the whole families life on one baby. It’s like it was meant to be lol.

I've posted this before but I'm still traumatised by it. My current sims 3 family had 1 kid, then twins, then quadruplets. Fricking nraas. I had 6 toddlers at once at one point. the trauma. the lag. the horror of getting the baby born popup over and over.

I've had had the most twins in the Sims 2 normally with Cassandra and triplets and twins in the Sims 4 with Eliza pancakes it was the household from hell when I reached that rotation each time
