Some of my homes on 30x20 lots are worth more than penthouse apartments in City Living. My home for the Goths included. They have a gym and swimming pool in the basement level I added. And I think bowling lanes and water slides as well if I remember correctly. The Landgraab family has similar accommodations. And I added the Pennywise family. A family even wealthier than the Landgraabs and Goths. And I started different NPC families with different amounts of money to indicate their relative wealth. Summer Holiday now has a more rebellious sister, Winter Holiday. They are the fourth wealthiest family who inherited money from their now deceased parents. The BFF household is now a mansion and Winter lives in a smaller high end home of her own. But Summer, Travis, and Liberty Lee got a serious makeover. Summer and Liberty no longer look like scrawny teenagers. They are pretty hot in my game. But Summer still has the same signature hair and outfit. And Liberty has a more adult version of hers and a more Asian hairstyle instead of those silly pony tails. And the potential love triangle is a bit spicier than in the original. Summer has a crush on Travis, but let's just say Summer is more Liberty's type.

If they wanted to do the parallel universe thing for the goth family they should’ve gone all in, made the goth family poor, made Bella and Mortimer marry different people but secretly crush on each other. The parallel universe was just made to give a reason for the laziness towards lore!

It's like EA is trying to use the phrase "Alternate/Parallel Universe" as an excuse for leaving out lore entirely...Like okay it can be an alternate universe, sure, but that doesn't mean you can't add NEW lore!!

Like, the Sims 4 developers have "tried" to add lore to the game but, while Sims 2 had memories and a whole murder mystery storyline for the Goth family alongside what seemed like a billion other plotlines, Sims 4 can't even be bothered to make the sims' relationship levels match up to their storylines.
Just look at Eliza and Bob, who are supposed to be hugely incompatible and practically on the outs of their marriage when we start the game and yet their romance level is over halfway full and they have a half-filled friendship level. Like, where is the continuity? Saying it's an alternate timeline doesn't excuse shoddy lore, especially in a franchise that has spent THREE previous games, DOZENS of expansion packs and MULTIPLE spin-off games that all nod to and contribute to the overarching lore in their own way.
The closest thing Sims 4 has to a continuous lore point is Princess Cordelia and the fact that the blurbs of a bunch of items is the closest thing we have to a story is just sad.
Bring on Sims 5 and, hopefully (seriously, I pray every time I think about it), bring back the dedication to intricate and in-depth lore.

tbh I think the reason why they said it's an AU is because they don't have toddler in base game so Alexander can't exist without being a child (which in the OG timeline Alex was a baby when Cassandra was a teenager.)

You can change a white characters race as long as their race doesn't mean anything to the story for example, if you change a character's race who was based off of a real person that would be wrong but still not blackwashing because it's not real, things like Hamilton it's okay to do racebends even though they're based on people because Hamilton is a work of fiction and the characters are only meant to be stand-ins for the historical figures, not actual representations. In conclusion black-washing isn't a thing it's just bullshit someone made up! I will not be replying because my comment notifs are turned off, but I hope this helps.

Put The Sims 2 Back On Origin rap song **instensifies*
The Sims2 is considered abandonware and free to download online, since it can't be bought anymore and there's no support.
I got the ultimate collection version on oldgamesdownload, but they'll take it down if it becomes available again on origin.
It works well enough for me, except for shadows, those looked buggy as hell and I had to turn them off.
Takes up a huuuge chunk of memory as well, because the ultimate collection has all the packs.

I feel you on the trends being behind. I was a teen in the 90's (a gen x kid), and I was the only person rocking the wild colored nail polish and loving vampires. The millennials come along rocking colored nail polish and loving vampires. I was roasted for it! I was teased and bullied. Ok, so for all my people who want some sims2 nostalgia, since it is considered abandonware (can't buy it and there is no support anymore) it is on oldgamesdownload.
It works... not great for me, but the original didn't either 😅 much shorter loading times though
there are still fixes online. you can find ways to make sims 2 work. look up the sims2help subreddit and, if you’re wanting to stay on ytube, then pleasantsims has videos on how to make sims 2 work
For anyone with a Mac, you can just buy the super collection in the App Store. Or you can make some... sketchy transactions 👀 on eBay for the ultimate collection on windows. It needs some fixes if you’re playing on windows 10 but you should still be able to get it to perform perfectly.
I do prefer the Sims 3 over the Sims 2 (ONLY because the needs don't decay so freaking fast) but I do have the Sims 2 and many of the expansion packs on DVD (a gift several years ago) and I will never get rid of them since the Sims 2 is still a good game. Still works fine too, even with CC.

im planning on rewriting the sims 4's lore, to where it's 25 years after sims 2. Cassandra Goth is a famous author who’s been through many spouses, and has 3 kids. her spouses have all died from electrocution and lie in her graveyard, along with her parents and others
Alexander Goth is at the top of the scientist career, despite this he still lives with his sister because of his loneliness, it is speculated he killed cassandra’s lovers out of jealousy. both kids never really got over bella’s disappearance
Landgraabs: malcomb lives alone, and has had many affairs with women, he owns his parents old business. he feels guilty for not having any children.
don lothario: he lies in the goths graveyard oddly. he and Cassandra had 2 children together before he passed away right before his wedding night.
brokes: dustin is an amateur dj who never got really far
beau: he busted his ass in school and is now the head chef at a prestigious restaurant

i also remember someone saying that '97-'98 are the cusp years so it's basically a free for all in terms of how those ppl personally vibe with either generation.
Those of us in our late 30s have a free for all option between Gen X and Millennial. Some also call us a mini generation called Xennial. I tend to go with Gen X, but I fit Xennial to a T.

Since it's abandonware you can find it to download online. The ultimate collection with all the packs too. I found it just via google, oldgamesdownload has lots of old games that can't be bought anymore.
Not gonna say it works perfectly, I had to turn off shadows and it looks quite pixelated for me 😅

@@tf7602 there is actually a tool called graphics rules maker that helps the Sims recognize your graphic card. You'll be able to change the graphic settings so that they aren't pixely anymore. You can also adjust your resolution.

I started a legacy challenge recently (I’m not an active player, because sims4 is boring af), and I tried to get a baby boy, but I got 2 cute girls and a BOY TWIN OF A FIRST CHILD. Genetics is worse than in the sims 2. Like you can avoid the first born syndrome, but this shit drives me crazy + I’m a paediatric and I have an allergy for misbehaving children, and children in the sims 4 are chaotic evil.

Whenever my sims or other townies breed with Bob they end up with squinted eyes, over sized noses, sunken cheeks and jaws down to their knees alone with one of those greyish skintones from the bottom two colour pallets. And these traits happen in all 13 children I've allowed Bob to have before deciding to kill him off before he can breed in all my newer saves (this is because of my dislike of Bob as a sim and believing Eliza deserves better, not my dislike of his genetics)
I for myself use rugs but i add them when I think it look right like when you make a elegant house (I don’t want to say castle) I use the floor tile rugs and then use the normal rugs as accents. I love renovating castle and big houses. I like to make them look expensive friendly and royally at the same time like here is living a family that has a name but when you need help the welcome you with open arms, like that.
