Carmine's work on Take Me Away is the best drumming work of Kiss' entire catalog. I wish he'd been their drummer all along.

I met Carmine at the Rock n Pod Expo in Nashville a few years ago. Very personable

It’s kind of interesting too that Carmine played on Pink Floyd’s “Momentary Lapse of Reason” album.

Carmine is one excellent drummer. Great interview with him. His work with Vanilla Fudge & Rod Stewart is what I am most familiar with. He is a legendary person in Rock. Thanks so much. Three Sides continues to excell.

    Carmine had a jetlag.
But his playing on Paul's soloalbum is so powerful! Great song "Take Me Away".Timeless great.

'You're Insane' is an incredible song. Even if you're a headbanger at heart this song will make you want to get down and boogie!!

This is gold! Awesome stories about Bonham, Sharon / Ozzy, and of course Vinnie. Great questions Mark!

Such a great artist and generous guest, I'm planning to see him in New Hampshire in September. He'll be with Cactus and Foghat.

Amazing episode. Amazing drummer and I always appreciate it when Mark goes fanboy. It was nice to not hear Tommy ask Carmine if he's ever thought about drumming for Black Veil Brides, Garbage and Spandau Ballet.

great talk with Carmine, love it! but Mike, not sure if you're testing out something on a new ipad or something, but the zooming in and out from your camera was very annoying and obnoxious. not sure if anyone else felt that way. just some "constructive criticism" is all, and hope this isn't taken as being rude or anything. long time viewer since back when Mitch was on the channel.... like i said, otherwise i loved this episode and thanks guys for getting Carmine on here finally!! can't wait to see the next legendary person you'll have on the show next!

Jimmy Kunes was their singer for over 15 years, from 2006-2021 and sang on their last 3 studio albums. Why wasn't he included on this, as a friend, fan, or influence?

I think Vanilla Fudge is a criminally underrated band. I got to see them in Rochester, Minnesota last summer, but Carmine was out with some kind of hand surgery. I was bummed, but oh darn, I guess I'll just have to see them again when I get the chance. That being said, they have a later career album called "Then and Now." They cover "Tearin' Up My Heart" by Nsync. You need to check that out! That riff is so heavy, so in your face and chunky, it's hard not to pump your fist along. Also, for the King Kobra part, check out the theme song to the movie "Iron Eagle" from the 80s, I think it's called "Never Say Die?"

Vanilla Fudge were pivotal in the history of hard rock, they were also Rascals influenced, and know Danelli also loomed large as an influence on many NY drummers including Criss and Carr. These were local heroes to a lot of rock bands we now consider legendary.

Great drummer couldn’t watch the full interview because of his oversize ego, some things never change. That’s no reflection on 3 sides of the coin.
