What SEA OF THIEVES doesn't tell you about your sails!
Which facts didn't you know yet? Let us know!
I dont agree on galleon, flex and bilge raise mid and mc front sail and when done with midd sail, flex goes to front and bilge goes down and check where sea dogs is
@@Itscurry259I recall something about the SDT meta, but I can’t seem to remember what it was for, could you remind me of it’s significance?
sdt?

oh blunder front to make the ship nose and blunder back they go away but now whare you are@@MichaelisSL
@@Itscurry259 kinda weird choice to make mc stay as long as bilge on sails, honestly.

Wonderful video! I didn't know the double raising cut the time that much

u got bilge mc and helm helm and flex helm looks at the ladders and backsail repairs when nec u got mc main cannoneer his job is to always cannon or board flex is a flexible player most times over 100 days played and u dont have to tell these guys mutch because there flexible and do what is neccasary mc is main cannon helm is the steerguy
@@superbanaan9 This can't be English, right?
@@fatalz3276I completely agree with you 😂
It is. It also makes complete sense in sea of thieves, context. If you don't understand naval terminology then that is not his fault xD@@fatalz3276

What the fuck language is that at the end?
deadasss😂
Its explaining how the crew and which part of the crew is supposed to be managing sails
Yeah see, we just handle what needs to be handled when it needs to be handled. Communication is key lol
It’s that he went from a simple tutorial to instantly thinking new players would know the lingo
Fr most of the time we all captain the ship. All of us are usually on deck fixing sails when need be and somebody will go turn the wheel once in a while, but mostly we all just fish together or play music while sailing, nobody needs to be on the wheel 24/7 unless a storm is hitting you.
Based Lord Guardian sails. I got them too and they've gotta be my favorite sails in the game. I based the look of my first galleon around them.
It’s beautiful when my crew mates actually listen to me and help with sails, only happens every once in a blue moon tho😅
I just let my crew do sail management and helm while I fkn nail the other ship repair and early emerge sail raising. It works phenomenally. though we all play important roles my primary being a cannoneer is well cannons helm pretty much just works our back mast and helm front mast almost always stays raised unless we need to reset (which doesn’t happen very often)and repair.
Then I play open crew and feel like I have to do everything, it’s extremely rare especially with sot coming too ps5 it feels impossible to not get a fresh pirate on open crew. I’ve taught a couple people basic fundamentals but for PvP it really doesn’t seem to stick all to well and they panic. It isn’t all surprising though, I started out as a repair jockey in sot season 3 and PvP felt impossible, now it’s all too easy.
If only I could coordinate with people that well
I remember when this game was just about being a funny pirate
Yet my friends refuses to help me, not even bother with sails, telling me that it doesn't matter.
Keep the sail always up and use harpoen to pull to location
Right, of course! I’ll just harpoon my way across the ocean 😂
Bros got the pro league strats😂
“I am in the water”
Playing with randoms 24/7 not only have i never had someone help with the sails once lmao but even raising the anchor they would rather do nothing then leave.
You forgot about one thing, Just flex on Sloop.
My teammates dont know that they are not on vacation on party boat and they have some job there.
what is hourglass ?
It’s fine until your crew just don’t ducking listen
Can you explain this in English since I’m not familiar with the sot tongue
Raising with one pirate is one space marine
Raising with two pirate is a primaris space marine
Wait your teams have designated roles?
wh would bilge be at the front tho
Was following until he talked abt brigs and galleons what language was that
Tf was bro on about at the end there
Sweet only one thing missing now
Solo sloop: Yes
The real facts u need is sailing through storms
"Did you know if two people raise the sail, it goes up faster?" No way really?
Bro is speaking Greek at the end wtf
No point explaining it all to then use alien language at the end 😂
Bruh that means my sea of thieves friend has to actually be good at the game😂😂😂😂.
I'm imagining it:
Me: "hey help me raise the sails quicker"
7 seconds passes.....
Friend: burning the 6th chicken leg in the bottom of the ship, complaining that I'm making him do to much.
Tell that to my crew not me!
It's easy if people actually do it
Can I play with you please
False for gally , one on back after raise mid ;)
Bilge on front sail? cmon
I'm sorry it's hard to use your sail?????? What are you on about
That’s the wrong Strat for brig
Feel free to elaborate!
@@MichaelisSL the new start is one front one back then helm helps with back(dubble turn makes it faster)
Huh?
No idea what the hell you said at the end
no, ive been playing for 4 years never realised theirs two sides to the ship with two ropes. What kind of ''tip''is this? first half is something a player learns within the first few minutes..second half is literal nonsense to anyone who doesnt already know how to play, anyone who knows that terminology doesnt need your tip.
Do you guys know about our lord and savior Jesus Christ, He died on the Cross and rose again 3 days later for all of our sins, and when he comes back He's gonna come back like a thief in the night meaning we are not gonna know when He comes back so p
Wait. There’s meta for this? You guys taking your fun too seriously
Wrong. Do this and your cannons will be free for a broad loss. Helm does all with flex apart from back, that's all helm. U can listen to this guy, but watch the complication hit the second shit goes west.
You have some of the worst, most basic, most obvious videos of this game it’s sad
Awesome, now I know the exact mathematical deficit that my crew creates when they flatly refuse to help raise under any circumstances 😅
Lol 😂
you need a better crew
Or when they leave you all alone to "board" when in reality they just completely miss the enemy ship or get blasted in the face all while you're now getting bombarded and you're completely alone.
@@CaptainRockoBDyeah…unfortunately they’re the only people who play games like this that I know. They’re just shit at games. Generally though, I wouldn’t consider myself good, maybe moderate, but…
Ok he’s just flexing golden hour,AA sails and lord guardian sails now
Can someone explain the second part of the video I have no idea what he was talking about I’m pretty new to the game
Same
Same
Basically he was laying out crew roles for sail management. The “flex” is a crew member that assists the others in their roles. And he laid out the order for all three ships. Which of course add more shipmates
A flex- crew that boards other ships and helps with any part of ship… captain has wheel and ofc a cannon guy and a bilge for buckets and repair. This is only for fighting in the hourglass mode. This may help in your pvp fights aswell tho.
It’s so your the first to get angles on the other ship to win the battle. If you ain’t quick they’ll knock you of your cannon with their cannon ball. So if no one’s helping the cannon guy then you’ll never win
As a vet HG player I can straight up say that raising back sail instead of front sail on a brig has wayyy more benefits than lifting front.
As someone who just enjoys doing openworld quests but isn't bad at ship to ship combat, I can agree since the front sail on a brig is better for low speed maneuvers while the main sail is best for quick escapes before you decide whether or not to turn around and find or run cuz you know you won't win in a fight
I love locking my friends into imaginary roles when we are all capable of doing what ever needs to be done when ever it needs to be done
If that works in your group good on you. Personally I see way more success from crews that are organized into specific roles and focus on them so I see the merit in giving people roles.
I myself like to just be the guy who drives, repairs and occasionally shoots cannons.
@@pyerackboth have pros and cons. Roles decrease need for comms and coordination but decrease natural flexibility. Having a flexible crew without roles and a "fill the gaps" or "do what needs to be done" teamwork style increases the crews adaptability at the cost of needing increased comms and coordination to make it work. The more in tune and synergized a team is with each other the better that play style works. Roles work better for teams that are not accustomed to each other. Roles have the benefit of when one thing goes wrong you know largely whose fault it was. Role teams can also fill the gaps as needed so they aren't inherently less flexible but some players may get tunnel visioned on their role. Pros and cons.
Sloop players, you’re fine. You will practically never need to change your sails, as the sloop will always maintain very similar speeds, unless you get headwind.
My guy. I started the game 2 hours ago. This was chinese to me. Wtf is a cannon and flex
As a solo slooper with no friends to play with I take this as an absolute lose
The hardest thing in this game are the random moron trolls.
what we’re those sails in The beginning?
The affiliate alliance sails! They are handed out in officially acknowledged Sea of Tbieves discord servers through competitions!
You forgot the 2 min black screens after you die playing on xbox lol
Wtf did u say
The sail Flex is insane!
But I don't see any muscles?
What is an hourglass?
how do you save your ship like if you buy somthing how do you save it on your ship
Idk i didnt think this game was even all that great, if you have no firends to play with your at a severe disadvantage as most other plays just kill you and move on, idek if this game has voice chat. Other than that your just...looking at an empty horizon. Easiest refund since the most recent battlefront games
The double raise strategy is great. However, videos like this are misleading. You don't just automatically put sail at a set position. You judge your sail position based on what your goals are.
I have met people who follow this strict protocol, and they have a hard time sinking me because I just get behind or in front of them. Be situational; you should always pay attention to where their sails are.
Adjusting your sail regularly also makes it more difficult for an enemy cannoneer to lock in their angle.
Overall, these are good tips if you're still trying to figure things out, just be cautious about following them without thinking about your situation/goals.
For brig try back full raise while helm is turning and then front full raise. Then helm can half drop back once they are done turning. Faster angle.
When egocentric PvP-only gameplay is such a core of your personality you call your role "The Flex".
team work makes the dream work
"On a brig you double raise front with cannoneer and flex, and then double raise back with helm and flex."
So you raise both sails all the way and become stationary... ???
Or just play AC black flag and have a really enjoyable swashbuckling time!
“Cannon and bilge, blah blah flex” ☝️🤓 real pirates know we all just bumble through the sea having wacky adventures because it’s a game, and it’s meant to be fun… not a job
Hourglass? Flex assist the bridge... Wtf are you talking about. Legit not sure.
PVP on a sloop u want to set the sail to 1/2 ish, for a a brig u want front sail up and back sail down or 1/2 ish depending, for a galleon you want mid sail up and maybe front up too eventually later on in the fight when their masts are down and u get close but always rear sail down unless u want to stop to finish with 4 gun broadside if they are immobile, this sail management is to optimize all ships for pvp to make them slow enough to turn faster but fast enough to push through the water so the waves won't affect your cannon aim as much, but not to fast to leap over the waves and affect your shots, also the pilot should be the only person to touch the rear sails on any ship in SoT so he can have final say in throttle management and keep the cannons in range and lined up or he can drop the sales and turn out if they are taking to much damage, and always raise mid and front sail first then rear last in that order on any ship in SoT
Yeah in theory yeah but in reality I’m lucky if my teammate doesn’t join instantly firebomb my ship drop the anchor and instantly leaves
Imma be real, your description of madame olivia was both based and relatable. Was funny did laugh
The majority of galleon crews I've been on just jump on cannons and don't help out at all.
Imagine having friends that play the game
Or just friends period
I have 2000 hours in the game and I always thought it took half the time😂
.........If you pay attention you can figure that out in the first 5 minutes of playing the game
i’m new but i got in the habit of only dropping my sail halfway when sailing so it raises a little quicker is this a bad idea?
Ntm Hugo
Your wrong on the brig you double raise back first all comp players do that
After :22 I have no idea what you said. Can someone please translate?
Solo sloop = 20 seconds because I keeps getting blounderbombed
People still teaching bad pvp tips like they are good, gotta love social media xd
this means that on a brig and gally it doesnt really matter if you raise one sail after another together or everyone raises one sail simultaneously. brig 2.2 + 2.2 + walking = 5, gally 3.5 + 3.5 + 3.5 + walking = 11 seconds
RAISING SAILS WITH 2 PIRATES MAKES IT GO FASTWR HOLY FUCKING AHIT NO WAY DUDE THATS INSANE
Or play NMS and spend 0 seconds effing with sails
Ye it works unless your mate doesn’t help you at all with sailing
why do people keep turning there sail on a big in diffent directions on forward one left one right
Bros trying way too hard at a kids pirate game
Im new to it and its hard to enjoy it because i have no friends and im anti social
i did not understand any of those terms in the... hourglass? part
AA sails, Golden Hour Sails, and Lord guardian sails!
Yeah and im the fastest one on ny crew other than my capt who mains the cannons..😢
I can handle a galleon solo and yes i already won pvp battles solo on a galleon
I want to play sea of thieves but it says choose what are you doing
Doesn't matter - I got no friends so I'm also running solo sloop 😂
I can barely understand this man's accent. : (
How do you get the sail skul of the beginning?
this is literally common sense LMAO
On brig I think it’s better too raise back
Never ever I'm gonna try the hrs glass mode
