I have been to Kuala Lumpur more than 25 times, over the years. Absolutely love the city. Much nicer than cities such as Bangkok and Manila.

They say Kuala Lumpur is one of best place to raise children (for expats). Perhaps this city provides English international school, English is second language, educational parks for cheaper price & multicultural exposure.

Glad that you decided to stay and explore more of KL, rather than going back to BALI immediately. You will find that KL is not only cheaper in many areas like accommodation, food, etc., than Indonesia but also than other neighbouring cities like Singapore, Bangkok or HCM.

Welcome to Malaysia everyone! Thought of giving some tips to all foreign travellers here:
    1. Malaysia is a very welcoming nation - don’t hesitate to come! English is widely spoken in the country esp in big cities and Malaysian are very friendly people. You will notice people will adore you as a tourist and don’t be shocked if they even try to take pictures with you as if you’re a celebrity! Be prepared - dress to kill (joking! Pls only wear light clothes here, its humid)
    2. There is only one season in Malaysia which is summer so you are more than welcome to come anytime of the year. Just be mindful that certain parts of the country experience monsoon especially along East Coast and during this period of time - travel to island, sea related activities cant be done during monsoon due to safety. But there is always islands in other parts of Malaysia, so you can still come!
    3. Be mindful if you are visiting Malaysia during school holiday or festive season (Eid, Chinese New Year, Deepavali) as it will be jam packed in hotels, roads and shopping malls. Booked early all your flights, transit, hotel etc. Price can be triple double during festive season. Not to forget the amount of cars on the road! Malaysian takes their holiday season very seriously so be prepared.
    4. Kuala Lumpur is only a part of Malaysia. Dont spend all your time here - the hidden gem truly lies in the countryside. Island, sea side, small cities will give you a new cultural experience. You’ll be surprised to see we Malaysian living harmoniously regardless of our race, faith and religion. Food is a big part of us so be prepared for an exhilarating gastronomical experience. Try local food and be mindful too on the level of spiciness here - it can get really spicy or we say “pedas!”
    5. If budget is not an issue, hotels in Malaysia are relatively affordable. For a price of a bed in a typical 8 dorm hostel in central London - you will get a good king size room in a 4 star hotel in Malaysia. Plus buffet breakfast (you’ll be surprised how Malaysian do their buffet here). If you wanna splurge, 150 to 200 euros per night will give you a luxurious one night stay in a 5 star hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Big hotel chains are here and try to find good deals esp those with packages (often found in hotel’s app). If you’re lucky you will get breakfast, dinner and spa in a package for a deal. Boutique hotel is also a good options if you like to try something different and luxurious. Theres plenty of options in big city.
    6. Like other major city in the world - beware and be mindful of your belongings. Malaysia is a safe country generally but use your common sense and be street smart. Always be vigilant and keep your valuables safe.
    7. Lastly, (most) Malaysians are very friendly. Just ask for help if you need anything. Most Malaysian will be more than happy to help. A lot of us are very skilful in taking good pictures for social media - use them! Just ask if you’re unsure. English is not widely written on signage/ boards etc in certain parts of the country so it can be confusing at times. Your Grab driver can answer all your questions too - just ask!
Hope all of you enjoy your stay here! Everyone are more than welcome to enjoy Malaysian Hospitality 🇲🇾
    Selamat Datang.

Welcome to Malaysia. That place with the confluence of the two rivers where you were filming the monitor lizard is actually the original place where the name "Kuala Lumpur" came from: "kuala" means a confluence of 2 rivers and "lumpur" means mud, so the name Kuala Lumpur literally means "the muddy confluence". The mosque you see in the video was built over that muddy confluence.

As soon as I saw the view, I knew the building. Ceylonz Suite. I stayed there a week ago. The little convenance store on the ground floor is a life saver. Grab deliveries made it so you could get a good days work in without having to worry about food. Walking distance to a lot of places (Redoor Cafe was a favorite for a Caramel Frappe on the go). KL has had the best food I've experience in my travels. Hated I had to leave after only getting to stay 2 weeks.

9:08 This is not normal Malaysian practice ie calling people into their restaurant and things like that. This only happens in this place (Jalan Alor) which I as a local hate. It gives off a wrong impression of Malaysia and the prices are ridiculously high for "street food" since it's full of tourists. Locals don't usually eat there. Totally wrong information, please get facts right!!! The person who established & founded Kuala Lumpur is Sultan Puasa. When tin was found in Kuala Lumpur many years later, people like Yap Ah Loy come to be miner for British. 😊

You aint go to Malaysia if you dont try the real MALAY (Melayu) dishes such as nasi lemak, nasi dagang, nasi kerabu, keropok lekor, hundreds of ‘lauk-pauk’
Its like going to Japan but not having sushi, takoyaki😂😂😂😂
