Guys I hope you don't find this too weird. I found your channel on UA-cam 4 days ago and I have spent many hours going through your videos. I Created my FIRST EVER UA-cam Channel just so I could make comments about your stuff. I'm a 70 year old male with cerebral palsy. Your videos have been a review of the life I've lived, and the challenges I've faced, like NOTHING I have ever encountered before. I have sat here for hours shouting at the computer screen "Yes, that happens. Yes, that's how it works, Yes, I've heard that, Yes that has been thrown in my face too! BROVO Shane for telling it like IT IS, OVER AND OVER AND OVER YET AGAIN....BROVO!!!! Thank you Shane. And Hannah, thank you for showing us what TRUE LOVE REALLY IS!-- James W. Fee, Jr.
I want to defend the crying older lady. That generation was forced to discard or place children with disabilities in foster/residential homes. They were told those kids would be a burden and have no meaningful life. So when they see "normalcy" it gives them hope and love and renews them. They are just like "o my god this can happen". We are friends with an interable couple and the old ladies at church would always gush over them. And one of them told me how her brother had been put in an institution. So while it is "weird" I think for many its just the realization that they were told wrong and may have had some kind of trauma/stigma with disabilities.
Yes! My grandfather has a brother with Austim who he said was in an "institution" because it is "best" for his brother. My own brother has it and our grandfather is always asking me about my brother.
Yes your right. So alot of people just dont realize that those of us that have disabilities still love, feel, hate, hold grudges or not. Pray ,laugh, everything that others do because we arent packed up and sent away.😘
It's still awkward to have a stranger cry at you in public regardless of her former preconceived notions about disability. They arent attacking her but there is no situation where that isnt weird and uncomfortable.
I’ve been over weight almost my whole adult life. And I get the look from kids all the time. Once I was standing in line at the pharmacy. A little girl is looking me up and down. She’s probably 3 or 4. Her Mother is looking mortified because she knows what’s coming. So do I. So I’m trying to look consoling to the Mother.... it’s okay. Don’t worry about it. Then it comes. The little girl pulls on her Moms arm. She says, “Mom, that lady is so pretty!” Both me and the Moms mouths drop open. That wasn’t expected. I wanted to go buy the little girl a toy. Lol.
Yes I've teached my daughter the importance of everyone is beautiful and never to be judging so she always compliments everyone like your so beautiful I love your make up or nails or smile she just turned 4 I am so proud 😊 ❤
My daughter gets called weird, gross, etc. because she is missing her arm. She also gets stared at a lot by other kids. I have taught her to say, "Its rude to stare but, Its ok to ask about my arm." Most of the time it works. Love you guys!
I have a stepson that was born with a bilateral arm deformity and a lot of people stare. My son would get really defensive for him but my stepson wasn’t bothered so I had to have a talk with my son about saving his irritation for times when Seth was upset and not making him upset when he isn’t offended. People are curious but some are rude and there is no excuse for that.
Hi. I know you commented 11 months ago.A female surfer lost her arm from a shark attack. She went back surfing. Most of the time it's adults that are ignorant as of just being rude and just not informed how to ask questions. Awhile back Mom and I were waiting in line for the bathroom in. Florida. Woman taps me on the shoulder and asked to the back of my head " What happened to you?" I turned around and said " I'm faking it!" Loud enough my Mom infants of me told me to be nice. That was about a dozen times people asked me in a matter of days. Sometimes I felt like making a great story up. Let them be inticed with the B S. , then say only kidding ! There are so many people that got happily married that don't have legs And arms. Little stumps for arm and has hands and no legs but feet all but coming out of their pelvis. One is a motivational speaker. I believe your daughter is stronger than most people. Two hugs to both of you from Pennsylvania.
@@donnalawrence9054 My daughter just read Nick Vujicic's book and loved it. She also loved the soul surfer movie. We have met so many wonderful people through Camp No Limits for children with limb loss. A Boston marathon bombing survivor who lost his leg just married a beautiful lady missing her limbs. ❤ I don't think they would have met if he hadn't lost his leg. Hugs back from NH!
@@savesquish1 HI. I already knew you are a great Mom ( I capitalize parents when they are deserving of it -lol) I didn't know they had that movie. When I was a Girl Scout a thousand years ago ( lol) we had a camp leader named Radar. She was blind. The only thing she didn't do was lead the hike which we got lost in the pouring rain for a long time. My Mom lost her eye sight when she was older and still did well. Great friend's Mom was blind ,got married, and had kids, etc. I am glad your daughter has a great Mom and I am sure knows it. You are raising a well rounded daughter and am sure if you have other kids, they also feel the same. Thanks for more knowledge! Hugs to both of you! Stay well.
I love how you taught her to handle it, by making a point and then opening the subject for conversation. I have scarred legs and people just have no clue that I see them staring and sometimes they ask me what's wrong with my legs. If they catch me in the wrong mood, I might say something shocking and I know I shouldn't but either should they.
Hannah is so beautiful it’s ridiculous...just so lovely to look at. Even the sound of her voice, her smile and frequent laughter are so engaging. She’s so unpretentious about it. I Love that too. What a blessing to her husband.
She is so fake and egotistical. If you can't see it then u must be blind, I mean come on, she found a meal ticket with SHANE, and now HANNAH is a millionaire and has a life insurance policy on Shane. She's a wheelchair digger and her attitude makes her so unattractive
My embarrassing story: A group of guys come into the bar I'm waitressing at, one of them was staggering and slurring his words when he ordered a beer. I told him I didn't think he needed another drink. He says "no I'm okay, I just fell off a truck", so I tell him I'm not going to be able to serve him. His friend then explains to me that years ago he fell off of a truck causing a brain injury and showed me the scar on his head from where they had to do surgery. I literally wanted to die, I felt horrible ans paid for his beer myself. Luckily they were all were very nice about it and even had a good laugh.
Aw that was an honest mistake which we’ve all done as we’re human. Sounds like you would never want to intentionally make someone feel bad and that obviously came across to the guys 💚
Shane, you should invest in the newest Jaco arm that comes with a middle finger. I think this would be a worthwhile investment for you after hearing some of your stories. Keep up the great work, you and Hannah brighten my day.
I'm on the aromantic spectrum and have never really been interested in relationships, but watching you guys makes me see why other people get into relationships. You guys are so much fun to watch; I'm so glad you're happy together!
I’ve had people treat me like I’m a ‘saint’’ bc I apparently married someone I’m supposedly ‘too good’ for bc he wasn’t as attractive a person as some people expected me to choose to spend my life with. 28 years married and 3 kids later and I still get the comments. It’s sad to me what so many people use as pre-requisites for a healthy relationship. In other words, ignore that shite! 💜
My daughter married a really brilliant guy. Someone who knew them both found out they were engaged and made a comment about whether she could keep up with him. She was so offended! She's plenty intelligent but was home educated, so the person evidently thought she wasn't his equal. I told her I would have commented about him keeping up with her, if you know what's mean, lol.
@@Sturdyman500 To me, that sounds like blatant ignorance on their behalf. Home education statistically produces more intelligent people in regards to a life skills and producing prodigy children. I’ve home schooled all 3 of my kids during most of their primary years (my son all the way through HS). My oldest daughter has a bachelor’s from UCI and my son was a computer science prodigy at 12 years old- building computers from scratch as well as full animation and coding websites. A general education is great but limited in scope when dealing with real world scenarios, deadlines, and problem solving. Anyway, I’m certain your daughter keeps her man engaged in great conversation and has proven to be someone he wants raising his children, right? Being that he’s brilliant and chose her for a partner says a lot. Anyone telling him that she may not be able to ‘keep up’ is basically questioning his ability to use adequate discernment in choosing a partner, therefore challenging his own intelligence. Hugs from CA☺️
Yea if my kid ever did something Shane and Hanna you would of got the last laugh you could of laughed at him because he would if got the ads whipping of a life time for that or I would of reached and smacked him so hard up side the head he would of flew off the picnic table and you could of laughed at him getting up crying
He has a great personality and he’s so funny. He also has a great way of expressing himself. I can understand why Hannah enjoys his company. These videos are super entertaining.
Stop living in a fantasy world, there is nothing great about his personality at all, just because he's disabled doesn't mean he automatically has charisma/humour. You are fake, she's in it for the money, like the last two were, and your denial of reality makes you untrustworthy and full of shit, the fakeness of it all is cringy, and you are not a good person for appraising a obvious sham
@@callumfitzpatrick5052 Dude can it! A lot of people enjoy Shane's sense of humor, up beat attitude. A lot of able bodied people are depressed, narcissistic, and insecure, witch Shane's not. How is it hard to believe she loves the kid for his personality and his charisma and charm, despite his disability, You sound like a shallow person. Also who really cares what life is like for them behind the scenes anyway it's none of your business. Your obviously obsessed! Lol your watching the content, your two faces. :)
As a retired teacher, I’ve learned that poorly behaved children mostly come from poorly behaved parents. Sometimes when you call home to tell parents the awful or mean things their child has done at school, it doesn’t take long to understand that the poor kid is just learning this from awful or mean parents. This is not always the case, but often the case. I end up feeling sorry for the kid who hardly stands a chance!
I remember I was grocery shopping and this middle aged man walked past me as I was grabbing something out of the freezer section with a super confused expression on his face and he said to a person next to him. "Where's that kid's mom?" I completely lost it and I don't think I've ever laughed so hard. At this time I was in college and doing all the "adulting" things and I still get confused for being a kid. I'm 4ft 6in and I have a form of dwarfism so I get it but....my goodness. Hey at least I look young for my age. Anyways, once I could actually stop laughing I dangled my keys up in the air and said "And I stole my mom's car keys too" and walked away.
My friend is 4'8" exactly, I am 5'5" and we both are pale with brown hair and brown eyes. She was in my car and we were driving behind her parents. They see us behind them and when we get to the restaurant, her dad says "you two look like a mom and kid in the car together ". Now I have an SUV so it is even worse. 😂
I'm only 150 cm which is about 5 feet, people always think I'm a lot younger than I am, like at least 10 years younger - I am 33! Though have never been mistaken for being a kid, guess I don't look that young!
I asked my kids if we should chuck all the Amazon packages under the tree Christmas morning and whatever you open is what you get. They didn't like that idea
I love you two. It's been a hard year for everyone I know. We lost my young son in law 2 days before Thanksgiving and we're still trying to cope. My daughter and 5 grandchildren are struggling and I'm so not into the spirit like I usually am. But when I watch y'all it really picks me up. Thank y'all for sharing your lives and stories. Much love to y'all. Merry Christmas .😘😘😘😘🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I was feeling anxious tonight. I've already watched 3 of your videos now, and I am feeling so much more relaxed. Your enjoyment of life is contagious. You make me laugh and smile and forget the things I'm coping with. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
I have a reverse story for you. When my grandaughter was about 3 and a half we took her to the mall. There was a woman pushing an older lady in a regular conventional wheelchair. My grandaughter stood starining at the wheelchair. The woman pushed the chair next to Where we were standing and very nastily bent toward my gradaughter and not nicely said, " Rude child. Do you not know it is rude staring at people that are disabled" she scared my grandaughter and pissed me off. For one thing, my grandaughter was little more than a baby. I looked at the woman and as nice as I could I said, "She is staring at the wheelchair, Her father is paralized and this chair is nothing like the one he has. His is low to the ground and he moves it by pushing the wheels," I seen the woman could move her legs, she must have just had a medical condition that made it hard for her to walk that much, my grandaughters father was paralyzed from just above the naval. The lady just turned red and walked away. No apology. It made me furious.
People are strange and maybe you are judging as well, you see I am DISABLED AND CAN MOVE MY LEGS BUT CAN'T WALK. So don't assume that an individual who can move their legs aren't disabled. The social security administration agrees I'm disabled. Just as you found the caregiver offensive and rude, which she was, but when you love someone who is in a wheelchair and DISABLED you become extremely sensitive to your loved ones feelings. Perhaps they had a rough day or your 3 yr old is tall and she thought she was older. Who knows but PLEASE REMEMBER SOME DISABILITES ARE NOT VISIBLE AND SOMEONE PARALYZED IS NO MORE OR LESS DESERVING OF ONES COMPASSION. ALL DISABILITIES ARE DESERVING OF KINDNESS. you are passive aggressive and It is evident in your writing.
@@raquellambropoulos279 no it was wrong actually to come anywhere near a naturally inquisitive child and dare talk to them in an aggressive way. I’d have found it hard not to thump her.
Anyone that can treat a child like that, shouldn't be the caretaker of ANYONE! Frozen hearts. Children are curious and constantly learning, and to treat them like that because it made them uncomfortable makes me sick!
@@crystalwolfe6794 I totally agree with you. I also struggle with both of them so shocked and stressed out about the attention they get. I’m thinking that’s why they’re UA-camrs ..to get attention which is a totally awesome way to show that disabled persons can and do have normal full beautiful lives and share that life with beautiful people. With positive will come negative...their common sense should kick in about human nature. People will be jealous thus make stupid comments. I’m still confused as to why they are shocked about receiving it. Shut down the channel if it’s so stressful and upsetting. The fact that they haven’t done so shows it’s not so upsetting. Personally I applaud their openness but just smh at the wanting of a pity party.
@@crystalwolfe6794 Boy I had a curious 3 year old..he's now 41. We were at a Dr.'s office in the waiting area. A midget walked in and my son went crazy, pulling on my shirt, his index finger and thumb going up and down as he said "mama...whittle man, whittle man (my son had a speech issue at the time) I tried gently to calm him, felt like it went on forever. The man came over, and was so sweet....looked at me and said...don't worry mom, kids are just curious...then looked at my son....and said..yes, I am a little man, and patted my son on the head ☺ Awkward but sweet.
Idk how to act when I see someone with a disability. I don’t want to ignore them. But I don’t want to smile or say hi and have them think that’s the only reason I’m acknowledging them. I’m also the shyest more awkward person ever .
I cannot believe the boy who pointed and laughed. That genuinely baffles me that a kid of that age would do that. And especially that the parents didn’t say anything
kids are nasty. that is how kids are. parents and teachers should be there to stop and teach. i definitely though think this was completely out of line. hes in public doing this. in school the kids taunt each other. at home brothers taunt their sisters. thats it. its not ok but its part of grwoing up. but this is an adult they are mocking in the street. if its the parents that were there then im baffled. it might not have even been their parents. it might have just been someone they knew taking them out.
I think the woman’s tears were very heartwarming 💝 I think in our society in general people are uncomfortable with people crying and not knowing how to react or what to do.
wtf about that warms your heart??! LOL That Hannah digs Shane?? he seems WAYYY less annoying than most dudes I know! would it be "heartwarming" for someone to go up to the average "hot lady ugly dude" cis het abled couple and start crying??
(PS--i share the latter part NOT to say Shane is ugly--i think he's pretty adorable actually!--but just to illustrate that it's NOT about how Shane doesn't meet typical mainstream standards of attractiveness; it's just fucking ableism.)
Shanes Happiness and quick wit just makes me utterly freaking happy!!!Dude doesn't complain...Dude just lives!!!He deserves the best in life and Hannah is proof of that!!!
My partner is disabled and we have had some really awkward moments with strangers. They either feel the need to thank me for being an angel and sacrificing myself to be with him or they just outright ask him what’s wrong and what happened. Both are super awkward and annoying, please people just smile and walk on.
I'm sure both are done with positive intent sometimes things can just come off wrong when said differently but I hope you and your partner are doing wonderful 👍 stay safe
I recently started following you guys .. I forgot how I stumbled upon your videos .. but to see the way you both love and respect eachother , so refreshing! Hannah , you get it . You know that true love does deeper than looks , money , material , etc etc . And you know that when you really love someone, you’re willing to do whatever for them . So happy to see that there’s still real love out there in the world :) God bless you both !
Honestly. You want/need to watch from the beginning. How far they have come together. I too stumbled across a different video featuring Shane in a very different video to now ( without hannah ). And for once the UA-cam algorithm gave me something great.
I've been watching them for about a year but I just started reading Shane's first book.. it's wonderful to see how he's grown and his narrative style has developed. He still has the same sense of humor! It puts my own disability in perspecitve and it gives me a really nice feeling reading his younger voice but also knowing that one day he won't have the short life expectancy he was expecting, he will have true love with Hannah(and of course Chloe) and the Jaco Arm to help out if he ever gets his head stuck or needs to open a door. I also can't wait to read Shane and Hannah's joint book!
Perhaps the parents felt so awkward / embarrassed that they wanted to ignore it like it wasn’t happening. Of course they could have told him off and made a big scene about it, but maybe they just wanted to deal with it in the privacy of their own home.
As someone with a chronic illness I have struggled with feelings of being unlovable. I think many of us struggle to know we are loved with all of our imperfections and we get these ideas in our heads that some qualities are less lovable than others. I think the woman in your first story may have just got a reality check that everyone deserves love and she may or may not have realized that she was incorrect about some of her internal belief systems and they have been why she was so shocked. I imagine there are things in her life that have led her (and many of us) to believe we are not good enough in life just as we are. Seeing how wrong we are about who deserves love gives us hope that we are lovable too.
I have cerebral palsy and use a wheelchair and when I was in high school I moved to a new school on the middle of no where. After I was in school for 2 months I heard everyone talking about how I was adopted (I was not) my brother went to the same school as me. I found out that my science teacher was telling her classes that I was adopted because my mom and my brother could walk. I was sooooooo heartbroken. She was not educated at all. 14 years later and I have a daughter who can also walk I tried explaining to her that my mom had complications when I was born but she STILL didn't believe me.
Can so relate to these stories. I’m almost blind and have physical disabilities. Have been in a chair a few times due to broken bones that are a part of my condition. Anyway I was in the city one day and I couldn’t find the building I needed to go for, yet another, job interview. There was a man, probably in his 50s there, walking the other way, so in passing I asked if he knew where the ANZ bank was as the bank was the bottom floor of the building. The man proceeds to drop to the ground, on one knee, I was a bit stressed at this point, thinking am I about to cop a random proposal, and he gave the directions, promptly, to my guide dog. My dog stood there wagging her tail slowly, something she does when confused.
"Hey sir, what kind of beer do you want? And would you also like a lollipop?" 😂😐😐😐😐 Seriously, though, what kind of logical sense did that make to that guy? 🤔🤣
Depends on the liquor laws of the area. I live in Texas, and here a minor can consume alcohol in a public setting (such as a restaurant) IF AND ONLY IF their parent is present. So if the waiter thought that Shane was Hannah's son, he would have been a) willing to get him some alcohol as long as Hannah (the supposed "parent") was present, and b) been willing to get Shane a lollipop if requested. Depending on local liquor laws, of course. Source: work at liquor store, am TABC certified
@@dianeaishamonday9125 Yes ma'am, you are correct. However, this wasn't at a restaurant. A minor can't go in the store and purchase beer. And this was the case here, except it was a drive thru store.
He was just ignorant about Shane's disability and perhaps knew Shane was an adult but thought he was slow like child like .So many Americans are clueless about disabilities.
I just can't RIGHT NOW!!! Screw everyone who has a small mind!!! You were put on this earth to love, laugh, make mistakes, cry....if your crying about someone you actually know..haha and most of all be respected and cared for JUST LIKE EVERYONE else on this planet! I get the "are you old enough?" And I've even had people try to take my ID. I have had kids point, stare, say horrible things with their parents right there. I've had people treat me like I'm mentally slow or a drug addict, like employees watching and following me around the store. I don't leave the house without a ton of makeup and without someone with me. I have lost all independentancy outside of the house between being blind and because of the way I'm treated I like to think I'm not that different but the world sure likes to prove me wrong.
I buy & wrap my own gifts to myself so I have something under the tree. I am still surprised when I open the package. Typically from my 2 dogs to myself. Are you getting the Noreaster that is hitting your side of the states? Your BFF from Montana. 😊
I am doing that this Christmas, too. Just called the local bookstore and asked them to wrap what I will buy this afternoon, it felt a bit weird but the bookstore owner just laughed like a happy Santa. And I believe I will be surprised, too, because when I looked in my bag of gifts I squeezed a gift and was like, What IS this!? haha. So it will be me & my cat. Merry xmas!
You two truely warm my heart, seeing your genuine love for each other as well as your obvious happiness in JUST SIMPLY going through day to day life together! I am so sure you have heard this at one point or another however I feel the need to say it anyways, ;) you are so loving and compassionate to Shane that there is no skating around your VERY obvious love for Shane! With that being said I find it sad as well as scary that people are so shallow and flawed that they feel that because Shane has different "ABILITIES" than they do that he is incapable of finding love and having someone genuinely love him for EXACTLY WHO HE IS like he loves them FOR WHO THEY ARE, please know that you are not the one with the issue AT ALL the person with that extremely flawed perception is 10000000% the problem, in which case I pray they get help and are able to change their way of thinking and seeing life! You are both truly beautiful and amazing souls, with that being said you are both helping people with open minds as well as open hearts to have the incredible opportunity to see two beautiful souls with different " ABILITIES" as well as totally different ways of living and experiencing life, be perfectly capable of falling head over heals in love, showing support to each other, loyalty, trust and respect to one another for just being who they are! I am so grateful for human beings like the two of you, because you are helping others peoples souls, minds, and their over all person to grow and learn to look beyond the physical and to find the true beauty within a person! I can not imagine the mean and awful back lash that you must receive on social media from the sad, miserable, or ignorant people sitting on their electronics passing judgement and dishing out useless, mean, and hurtful criticism! I pray that one day my 5 children are able to find a beautiful, genuine, and amazing love like the two of you have been able to find I pray for that daily! You are both truly inspirational and incredible, I am so thankful to be able to watch you both grow as individuals as well as team and a couple!!!! Thank you for all that you are doing regaurdless of all of the hateful things people say, you are both doing something truly amazing by just simply showing those with different "ABILITIES" that there is hope for them in finding someone that will love them forall that they are as an individual with no regard of what others think about it! Congrats on all of your accomplishments to the both of you, may God continue to bless you on your journey in this complicated thing we call life! You two are incredible people!!!!! I pray for you guys daily I pray all of yalls goals, aspirations, and prayers are answered!
I think it's beautiful that she cried... some people are just more emotional and how they express their feelings. Crying is not a weakness. Just accept her... don't feel sorry for her, be grateful for peoples expressions toward you as a beautiful couple.
I don't think they were saying that crying is a weakness. It's just the attitude they seem to have, "aren't you just a SAINT for marrying this poor crippled boy". (their thoughts, not mine)It's true that people don't know what they don't know. Have never been in a situation where they learned. I tell myself that all the damn time when Hearing people are absolutely floored when they learn that there are Deaf people with PhDs! When I was told it was so "beautiful" that I had married a Deaf man, they were definitely saying that I was such an angel for "lowering myself" to be with this poor Deaf (and Dumb) man. Some people still say Deaf and Dumb! Argh! Another button of mine. A lot of us. But still some people believe that Deaf people have lower intelligence and could never get a higher education. I work at a University that graduates over a hundred Deaf students every year. I've been a Professional Interpreter since 1982. Sometimes, I admit, the ignorance gets a bit tiresome. BTW, Interpreters need a college degree and certification and sometimes licensing to practice. You can't just take one Sign Language class (usually taught by someone who is Hearing and NOT fluent) at camp and you're good to go. Interpreting between a spoken language and a visual language is 100 times more difficult than Interpreting between two spoken languages. And, American Sign Language is its own separate and unique language with its own syntax and grammar. Just wanted to share some information that I've observed most hearing people aren't aware of. So that you can also be more sensitive and educated when you meet a Deaf person! :D Thank you Hannah and Shane for helping people learn and have more open minds about people with disabilities.
@@dod2304 thank you for the clarification. I guess I'm sensitive when some feel crying is a weakness. I'm an emotional person. I cry happy, sad, always been that way my entire 60+ years. I appreciate your reply.
For people who may think Hannah is “using” Shane, if you watch ANY of their videos, you’ll notice the way she looks at him when he’s talking and you can tell she loves him. Just because their relationship isn’t the “norm” doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong and she’s with him for money blah, blah, blah. Everyone deserves to be loved, no matter their abilities or lack of, and it’s clear these two genuinely love each other! So happy for them.
@MissMickey You don't know either of them at all. They seem quite happy to me. If you're going to be so negative, then maybe you shouldn't watch their videos.
@MissMickey You have your opinion, I have mine. I come here to laugh and be happy, as do most other people who watch their videos. I will reiterate that you should really keep your negativity to yourself and let people enjoy this content. It is positively horrid that you are so jaded to think that two people like this can't possibly be happy. I will reiterate that you should keep your negativity to yourself and maybe watch another channel that doesn't trigger it. Have a nice day =)
Hey Fellow Minne-snow-tans! I'm so sorry about your awful experience in Stillwater, MN!😞 My mother grew up there, as well as her whole family & relatives, and I was born there. It is quite a beautiful town, and known for many ghost stories! I hope you will give it another chance, and perhaps take Petunia with you this time!😜 Furthermore, I just want to say that I have a brother with severe cerebral palsy, so I understand the whole pointing, staring, cackling, bullying, etc. It sucks immensely, but please don't let one ignorant family ruin your experience, and future adventures.💖
My most awkward moment was when my friend was pushing me in my wheelchair along the footpath by a beach in the summer about 25 years ago so I would have been 20. We stopped to look at the sea and a couple of elderly ladies approached us. One proceeded to pat me on the head and say’ oh it’s such a shame cos she’s quite pretty’ I’m still not sure what made me madder the fact that she patted my head and talked as if I wasn’t there or that I was ‘quite’ pretty! 😂
Ohhh I’ve had such similar experiences to that! The most maddening was when I was a teenager, often when recounting to doctors how difficult living with my disabilities was they’d try and cheer me up (I guess?) by saying “it’s okay though, at least you’re pretty!” Like... ummm I’m sat here crying begging for help to improve my quality of life and you think focusing on something as superficial as my looks is going to make living with chronic pain alright?? It happened with multiple different doctors on different occasions too! Of course being complimented isn’t upsetting but in that context saying it as if it somehow helps me live with disability is extremely frustrating 🙄
My guess is the older lady that cried had suffered the loss of her spouse and was moved by your young love. After 1/2 of your heart is gone, everything reminds you of him and you cry for the rest of your life. My grandmother cried for 30 years !
Yes, she joined him in 2014. Grandma was my best friend and the only baby sitter I ever had. She took care of me then I took care of her. I take after her much more than my mom. I see her in my eyes.
Please do not feel bad for the little old lady. You brought joy and hope to her by showing her that love has no bounds. With so much hatred in this world, it is wonderful to see love bring people together regardless of their race, social status, or physical aptitude. Enough to bring tears to one's eyes.
I hope the first lady sees this and leaves a comment so we can all say hi to her!. I get why it was an uncomfortable meeting, it was also super sweet. She just knows how hard it can be for so many. Any parent can tell you, with all kids, you try to provide them whatever you can so they can have a happy life. You try to change whatever you can to make that easier. And when there are things you can't fix or change you worry. Bc the whole world doesn't work like we want it to. When we see something as beautiful as the two of you are it can be just as moving to the soul as seeing something horrific can be damaging. One day, thanks to couples like you, it won't be so rare, but for now just be patient and just tell the crying ladies how sweet they are to be moved by something so genuine.
You two are just so full of grace. It's such a shame how some people will raise their children. Sad and horrible to think what they may be like as adults. I'm so thankful I and my husband of 50 years brought up our children with our Lord's teachings and are such good human beings. Even though I was raised with 2 sisters by our father we were raised the same way and yet I am not sure I could show as much grace as you have. I think you calling them out like this was just the best. Yes, my dad always said the same, treat others as you would wish to be treated. But also he said, just dismiss it to their ignorance. Love you two!
LOL Is it me or was Hannas answer “ then get me more gifts” every girls answer ever LOL I can hear my girlfriend now lol 😂 sorry saying you said yourself up for that answer lol 😂
You two are incredibly fun, patient, and so strong! I truly applaud your sense of humor thru these horribly uncomfortable and even very upsetting moments. No one asks for illness or birth defects Maybe a masochist might? But seriously I was born with birth defects and had surgeries to correct them. I feel blessed that I was never made fun of how ever my brother who had epilepsy was made fun of. We all deserve love, compassion and understanding! Shane and Hannah I love the awareness you bring and how you can get thumbs down is puzzling to me!
when life starts to suck, i turn on these videos and feel better, not because maybe shanes life is difficult, i feel better because you guys are funny and really work well together, a perfect match
If you two ever broke up for real my entire life's purpose would go spiral down the drain before shattering in a blender along with my hopes and dreams
I want to give a different perspective for the lady in the first story who cried. A good answer would have been a smile and "Thank You!" Since she had read your articles in the paper and liked them, then came up to Shane and said so, perhaps she was just really happy for you that you had found love. I am imagining that perhaps she was there as a sentimental journey, reliving memories of when she and a past love had been there. Seeing the two of you there and in love brought those feelings to the surface and she cried happy tears. I wish you could turn the feelings you have into seeing how sweet and lovely that moment was for her.
One of my most awkward moments as a disabled person with non-disabled partner was when a doctor asked if my husband (who is less than a year older than me) was my dad. I consistently get people assuming that I am not intelligent or able to articulate my own thoughts because I am in a wheelchair. I do also get confused children who treat me as an equal rather than an authority figure, but that’s a little more understandable. And I remember one other time when I was working as a volunteer in a nursery a few years ago, and the person I was working with told me she did not think I would be as much help as I was. At the time, I was pregnant with my second child, and my oldest was almost four (all things that this person knew). Yet, it hadn’t really occurred to her that I might know a thing or two about dealing with toddlers primarily because (I assume) I am disabled.
I just found y’all and I’m loving your channel. So much positivity is refreshing to see!! I feel ya on the bullying topic. My brother has CP and we are in our late 50’s. Kids used to point at him a lot too and it was awkward for him. I’ve watched, as he’s gotten older, how much he has become more comfortable handling those awkward moments with children. He will answer their questions. The thing that irritates me, are the adults who either ignore their children, like they didn’t just say something so rude, rather than gently correcting them and educating them. I think some folks just get used to living in their own bubble and don’t know what to say. One of the best things that has come about with time, is increased accessibility for mobility challenged people. UA-cam and the internet is such a great vehicle for raising awareness. Y’all are a bright spot on here and I am looking forward to watching more and more!! Blessings from Texas!!
When Shane said "I do want a lollipop." I died laughing. But on a serious note why are people handing out lollipops at a beer joint? And Shane does look a little younger than 27 but not that young. Not young enough for a lollipop at least. 😆
My kids would ALWAYS tell me out of excitement what i was getting. I'd be so excited....until....they began telling me wrong! Hubby caught on and then realized he couldn’t,t stop kids so he fooled them which then fooled me. I liked it better knowing truth. Lol
My children's father is Deaf. I'm hearing. That old lady crying thing happened to me several times. "You're marrying a deaf man!!?? That's so beautiful!" You're much kinder than I am, Hannah. I wasn't rude to the person, but inside, I was super got exasperated with the ignorance. I've gotten the same reaction more times than I can count when I tell people I'm a professional Interpreter. They look blank when I remind them I'm also interpreting for the hearing person 😉
The one about the young boy made my blood boil! I would have flipped! So sorry you had to experience that! I just live a hop skip and a jump on the other side of the river and hope to run into you two some day!

You are 100 & 1 % right! Thank you for reminding everyone about that those days!
Good insight :)
Awe love it
That is SO sweet! What a cute little girl and being raised RIGHT....
Kidd's tend to say it say the truth
Yessssssss...... That must of been a very good mother.... I have been overweight all my adult life too, and I can SO relate to these stories!
Most of the time it's adults that are
ignorant as of just being rude and just not informed how to ask questions.
She got it from her mama! :)

You're not the only one who feels anxious sometimes I think most people feel the same way I sure do everyday
His is low to the ground and he moves it by pushing the wheels,"
I seen the woman could move her legs, she must have just had a medical condition that made it hard for her to walk that much, my grandaughters father was paralyzed from just above the naval.

@@crystalwolfe6794 I totally agree with you. I also struggle with both of them so shocked and stressed out about the attention they get.
The story of the boy laughing and his “parents” doing nothing makes me lose faith in humanity.
It sounds like a sociopathic response ☹️
Perhaps the parents felt so awkward / embarrassed that they wanted to ignore it like it wasn’t happening. Of course they could have told him off and made a big scene about it, but maybe they just wanted to deal with it in the privacy of their own home.
"that I drew with a crayon" 😆😆🤣🤣🤣 I seriously die laughing every video! I seriously love you both!
Your videos make my days so much better! Even with the sad title. I love you both! All my support always! 🖤

@@dianeaishamonday9125 that. is. crazy.
He was just ignorant about Shane's disability and perhaps knew Shane was an adult but thought he was slow like child like .So many Americans are clueless about disabilities.

The mic has made such a difference! Definitely worth all the struggle 🤣
I think this message holds true for hidden disabilities as well. Treat people who are not visibly disabled as you would treat anyone. 🙂
I just can't RIGHT NOW!!! Screw everyone who has a small mind!!! You were put on this earth to love, laugh, make mistakes, cry....if your crying about someone you actually know..haha and most of all be respected and cared for JUST LIKE EVERYONE else on this planet!
I swear you two are amazing and please keep the videos comin'-amy Rochester NY
I prefer to say "Treat others the way they want to be treated."
You are like everyone else. Everyone else is like you. You could be a CEO if you wanted to. You seem very smart and capable, you got this girl ❤❤.
Merry xmas!
"I blame.. .Who do I blame..." Rolling on the floor.
I think when Shane picked this title he was trying to get more views to justify getting Hannah another gift... 😆
Love you guys!
From where I sit, your tree has a frosty beer mug for a decoration. True?!🍺
Yep. I’m pretty sure that was the one Shane put on the tree himself in the tree decorating video.
@@caleigh2114 That is so great! Lol!
Looks like to me too! Perfect ornament for Shane because he loves a beer sometimes!!!
@@tiffanymims8691 From the waitress story, I think he gets a lot of heck for enjoying a tall frosty one. Lol!
Shane's expression while describing that he had to keep his dignity while eating the lollipop ended me 😂
I would have taken the lollipop.
I feel like if I was Shane, I would just want to get take-out... But I love how he's willing to embrace the awkwardness!
Thank you for sharing all that you do on here, and PLEASE dont ever feel bad for creating boundaries and keeping somethings personal for the two of you as it is your right to do so and you have to to maintain your sanity as well as your peace of mind!!! You two are incredible people!!!!! I pray for you guys daily I pray all of yalls goals, aspirations, and prayers are answered!

I wish you would've said her reaction to your actually being 27. 😂😂😂😂

Exactly, he's a human being like anyone else. I love this couple🥰
@MissMickey and how do you know that? Is that a fact, an assumption or an opinion?? 🙄
@MissMickey Who cares? It's still obvious that she loves him.
Have a nice day =)
Wow, my jaw hit the floor when you told the story of the kid and his "checked out" parents. That's insane. So sorry you encountered such a person.

This one makes my blood boil at the audacity of people

My guess is the older lady that cried had suffered the loss of her spouse and was moved by your young love. After 1/2 of your heart is gone, everything reminds you of him and you cry for the rest of your life. My grandmother cried for 30 years !
Since you say your Grandmother "cried for 30 years" in the past tense I'm hoping for her that she is now with her eternal love💞🕊💞
Stillwater is one of my favorite places in Minnesota and I'm sorry that happened to you there. :-(

Love you Two so much!! Shame on those parents they should be teaching their children kindness not bullying!!!❤️💙💖
Omg you two are hilarious tonight. The eye brow comment... poor Hannah that makeup video had me on stitches. Crayon license hahahahahha love you two.

You two are incredibly fun, patient, and so strong! I truly applaud your sense of humor thru these horribly uncomfortable and even very upsetting moments. I want to give a different perspective for the lady in the first story who cried.
A good answer would have been a smile and "Thank You!"
Since she had read your articles in the paper and liked them, then came up to Shane and said so, perhaps she was just really happy for you that you had found love.
Match tracking numbers on the packages to orders. I've had to do that so many times this year.
"Well get me MORE Gifts!" ROFLMAO!
I love the way Shane tells stories...the way he told the waitress story had me in tears from laughing. Love you guys! Merry Christmas! 🎄
