@@J19_vlogger74 Missouri has a unique law on tow trucks that if they are employed by a public department or if they are responding to an emergency (which Ron is here as requested by the Scotts City PD), tow trucks can use red and blue emergency lights to expedite the arrival to help clear traffic better. If they do use the emergency lights, they are required by law to use a siren for safety, but only can use the lights and siren while responding to these emergency calls. As usual a great job done by everyone involved. That "Q" is a much added siren added to the rotator. Stay safe out there and a Happy early Thanksgiving to Ron and the entire crew and family.
Mounting on the steering wheel would require some form of a flexible electrical connection. Something like a trigger switch on the gearshift knob would be technically simpler.... Hmmmm..... they make gearshift switches for enabling / disabling Jake brakes... .... maybe Ron could mount one on the shifter and wire it to the Q...
Mr. Pratt , after a marathon viewing of your videos I must say you sir are a physics genius and must be in excellent shape for all that hard labor it takes simply to run out all the lengths of chain, straps, and heavy hard wear to recover all the trucks and equipment ... simply incredible ! It’s a pleasure to watch you and your guys work with such fluidity and mutual respect, enjoy watching your videos 👍
I really like the fact that you can run code, I've seen it way to often that a rollback was stuck on the autobahn over here in Germany, people way too often move onky for fire and police out of the way.
Around here a lot of tow trucks run their flashing lights all the time whether they’re going to an emergency call or just going down the road with a car loaded so I think people just don’t take them seriously. As far as I know, the state Ron is in is the only US state that allows red/blue lights on tow trucks too. I’ve seen a tow truck with a siren around here but only yellow lights.
@@DVeck89 Unfortunately, there are a LOT of towing operators and other industry's drivers who overuse the amber lights so that most people have become immune, or ignore them. There are also tow ops in Missouri who abuse the red/blue lights and sirens. Of course, I know volunteer fire personnel and police officers who "misuse" their lights and sirens as well, so it isn't JUST tow ops. Anyway, I could go on and on about this subject, but I won't. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Here in the USA, not all vehicle recovery agencies can run red and blue lights and sirens. Some states allow recovery vehicles to run lights and sirens, others allow red and blues on an accident scene, while others do not allow anything but amber lights while on a scene or with a recovered vehicle(s). In Florida: * Only law enforcement are allowed to operate flashing blue lights and sirens * EMS, Fire, and a couple other agencies are allowed to use flashing red lights and sirens. * Vehicle recovery, oversized loads, vehicle escorts for oversized loads, and a couple others are allowed to operate flashing amber lights without sirens. * Road maintenance and general construction can operate flashing white lights without sirens. * Private security typically uses flashing green lights without sirens while on private property (not mandated in state statutes). www.flsenate.gov/laws/statutes/2011/316.2397 316.2397 Certain lights prohibited; exceptions.- (1) No person shall drive or move or cause to be moved any vehicle or equipment upon any highway within this state with any lamp or device thereon showing or displaying a red or blue light visible from directly in front thereof except for certain vehicles hereinafter provided. (2) It is expressly prohibited for any vehicle or equipment, except police vehicles, to show or display blue lights. However, vehicles owned, operated, or leased by the Department of Corrections or any county correctional agency may show or display blue lights when responding to emergencies. (3) ...Wreckers, mosquito control fog and spray vehicles, and emergency vehicles of governmental departments or public service corporations may show or display amber lights when in actual operation or when a hazard exists provided they are not used going to and from the scene of operation or hazard without specific authorization of a law enforcement officer or law enforcement agency. Wreckers must use amber rotating or flashing lights while performing recoveries and loading on the roadside day or night, and may use such lights while towing a vehicle on wheel lifts, slings, or under reach if the operator of the wrecker deems such lights necessary...
In the UK only Police, Fire, Ambulance, lifeboats, mountain/cave rescue and EOD teams can run blue lights and sirens. Some use a mix of flashing red and blue to the rear only with red and white mixed to the front (red lights to the front are illegal as are white to the rear unless reversing ) Doctors are officially allowed to use flashing green lights but I have never actually seen one use them (the only doctors who would actually have use for them generally use the same vehicle as a fast response paramedic which are classified as ambulances) Flashing Amber is used by any vehicle that by the nature of its work could cause a hazard or obstruction on the roads. Tow trucks fall under this as do most road construction vehicles, garbage trucks and various other bits and pieces. If we need a tow truck to be expedited to a scene they would generally get a police escort. One exception to the normal rules is that highways agency traffic officers (traffic patrol without any police powers, mainly concerned with wrecks, broken-down vehicles and moving debris off the motorway) have Amber light bars that have red and Amber to the rear (the only people to use red and Amber mixed) I think they might also have sirens although I have never heard one use it

Watching the Western Star, Unit #17 and the rollback leaving makes me think "We got us a convoy" (apologies to the film). Glad to hear there were no serious injuries. Also congratulations to Lauren & Talon from the UK. Trust all doing well
Yes, new momma, daddy, & baby are all doing well. They got to come home last night. Thank you very much. God bless.
WOW! Great job Ron and crew! Damage to that tractor was something else.
Ron I just have to say this. it is fantastic that you are so willing and able to help teach new people how todo this job. 9.9/10 companies will not hire you if you don't have at least 2-5 years experience and wont even call you back if you don't. im impressed with you and the company you've built.
Mr Ron first time I am watching 3 of your Trucks working together . Amazing coodination recovery.Team work is strength.God bless you and your team . Thanks from Malaysia.
First class emergency response by all involved. The cooperation between agencies makes ALL of you look professional!
Well I finally got to watch all the preparations involved with getting the interstate cleared .I just retired in 2017 after 60 years trucking and have seen so many various accidents and to watch the entire process I can understand how time consuming some of these rescue incidents can be.I was blessed never having a accident in well over 5,000,000 miles so also glad to be off the big road.Best wishes to you Sir. Roger Groot Cleveland,Tennessee.
Congrats on the Grandbaby! Just about every piece of Mid West gear out there except for the trailer and the little 4wd play toy. Profitable day!
As truck after truck showed up, I was thinking, "Is anybody left back at the shop?!!"
Congrats on the grandson!! 👣
After watching over loaded over bearing truck failures, Inda, china, russia, know I know why Ron is so painstakingly safety minded to make sure job is done right firs time! congrats !
Love watching how professional your team works as well as how you all talk the plan together. love n prayers for prosperity and safety for all of Midwest Truck.
Thank you for sharing another rescue with us and thanks to your amazing camera person or persons they do a great job
This gives most of us a better idea on why there’s so much standing around going on at scene. 👍
I agree completely
Some folks never get it, even after watching videos like this...
Nah, they just think it's a union thing haha...
While it's easy to spot the one's "just standing around", there's always someone doing something, somewhere. (often under something where you can't see them. also, as slow as the wenches are pulling, driving by you wouldn't be able to tell they're doing anything.)
Ron, CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of your grandson! We are so very blessed in this life. Thank the Lord!
Boy that one got my adrenaline going, you had every piece of equipment out there except your rollback trailer never seen so much excitement in my life you guys like a well-oiled team you are a well-oiled being thanks so much for sharing great job by all and thank you ldr
Superbly done. Great to see everyone concerned about the people involved in the accident, trucks and cars are just replaceable things, not lives.
Note to self: Leave boots in Tator.
No, have one set in each truck!
@@gofastwclass Heck. The Cab of the Rollbacks would be full of boots.
Congratulations on your new grandchild!! God Bless you, and your Family!!
I’m from the UK and always love watching your vids Ron. Your professionalism, hard work including yourself mucking in with all the same jobs as everyone else and the safety you observe at all times. Fantastic content and always love to see a code 3 attendance albeit we hope the victims of any incident are unhurt and able to go back to there loved ones. Thank you 🙏
That is one heck of a skilled and professional group, every single one. Well done and stay safe everyone!
That was a phenomenal job at working together as a unit everyone did it sufficiently as well as safety, great job Ron and the guys
I love watching every video that I can. Ron knows his stuff. I guess his father taught him well. And now it is his turn to train Eathen and the rest of the crew how to do their best.
Well done Ron good to see David stepping up and the team work with your guys along with emergency services
Congratulations on the birth of your new Grandchild how exciting is that. You and your crew do such good work. Be safe and God Bless.
Hi Ron,Congratulations for the Grandchild.
Thank you to yourself And your Crews for putting Your Lives on the line right along side Other First Responders
Another amazing demonstration of teamwork and cooperation. Thanks to you, your team and all the first responders for all you and they do and the sacrifices you all make to help others.
You are a great teacher Ron. I like how you work with your team to make them successful.
I love the way you teach David the job. And yes, we have here in the Netherlands a rule and this wil be the free translate, Where people work, mistakes are made.
I'm two years late but congratulations on the Grandchild! God Bless You and the work you do, I wish you nothing but the best!
I remember seeing this on Facebook about the crash. Glad to see the video of how the job was handled.
I like the way you work, always putting things away when done. I would leave them where they where and then take an hour to gather all the loose stuff
laying around, then get back to shop and discover I forgot a chain. Also you also so polite to others. Thanks for your videos.
That Q siren definitely works the dream whilst responding code 3
Your tow truck is the very first one I've ever seen or heard of having a siren set-up equipped
That Q siren made a world of difference on this response with people being able to clearly hear the siren.
Unbelievable great job. I've been around 18 teen wheelers and I've never watched a whole operation like this. Top my hat to you, "Ron Pratt"
As usual a great job done by everyone involved. That "Q" is a much added siren added to the rotator. Stay safe out there and a Happy early Thanksgiving to Ron and the entire crew and family.
You definitely ain't gonna sneak up on someone with the Q going!!!!
Hearing it on a call takes me back to the '70's TV.
It make em move. I would of put the switch on the steering wheel though for easier reach
The Q gives me chills every time
Mounting on the steering wheel would require some form of a flexible electrical connection.
Something like a trigger switch on the gearshift knob would be technically simpler....
Hmmmm..... they make gearshift switches for enabling / disabling Jake brakes...
.... maybe Ron could mount one on the shifter and wire it to the Q...
Love this Video and congrats on your new Grandson Hope your Daughter and family is Doing good so far God Bless you all
I love how well this guy teaches his guys and makes them do what they are supposed to be doing.
Congratulations on your new Grandson!
Ron, god bless you, your family and your crew and all of the first responders out there. Stay safe out there y’all
I’ve been driving almost 21 years now and I’ve never known that heavy duty tow trucks run lights and sirens !! Thanks for teaching me something new !!
Only in the state of Missouri they can run lights and sirens because they are classified as emergency vehicles
God bless you! Amazing work, and congratulations on your new Grandbaby!
I can only watch and appricate how well your whole crew work together to get the job done quickly but safely ! GREAT Job Guys !!!
on my laptop full screened like I'm sitting in your back enjoying the ride with horn and sirens running
In other word... AWESOME!!! Thank you Ron :)
That was an excellent video Ron. Stay safe out there and god bless
usually only get to see this stuff for 3 seconds or so. I enjoy all the steps thanks.
In Florida:
* Only law enforcement are allowed to operate flashing blue lights and sirens
* EMS, Fire, and a couple other agencies are allowed to use flashing red lights and sirens.
* Vehicle recovery, oversized loads, vehicle escorts for oversized loads, and a couple others are allowed to operate flashing amber lights without sirens.
* Road maintenance and general construction can operate flashing white lights without sirens.
* Private security typically uses flashing green lights without sirens while on private property (not mandated in state statutes).
www.flsenate.gov/laws/statutes/2011/316.2397
316.2397 Certain lights prohibited; exceptions.-
(1) No person shall drive or move or cause to be moved any vehicle or equipment upon any highway within this state with any lamp or device thereon showing or displaying a red or blue light visible from directly in front thereof except for certain vehicles hereinafter provided.
@@davidwooden4175 hi, also n FLORIDA h Slow Down Move Over , as now included GARBAGE TRUCKS. as too many were being hurt. . Cheers 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
In the UK only Police, Fire, Ambulance, lifeboats, mountain/cave rescue and EOD teams can run blue lights and sirens.
Some use a mix of flashing red and blue to the rear only with red and white mixed to the front (red lights to the front are illegal as are white to the rear unless reversing )
Doctors are officially allowed to use flashing green lights but I have never actually seen one use them (the only doctors who would actually have use for them generally use the same vehicle as a fast response paramedic which are classified as ambulances)
Flashing Amber is used by any vehicle that by the nature of its work could cause a hazard or obstruction on the roads.
Tow trucks fall under this as do most road construction vehicles, garbage trucks and various other bits and pieces.
If we need a tow truck to be expedited to a scene they would generally get a police escort.
One exception to the normal rules is that highways agency traffic officers (traffic patrol without any police powers, mainly concerned with wrecks, broken-down vehicles and moving debris off the motorway) have Amber light bars that have red and Amber to the rear (the only people to use red and Amber mixed) I think they might also have sirens although I have never heard one use it
This came up on my home page, so first time viewer here from Scotland in the UK. It's amazing that you coordinated the full thing with not only your team, but with first responders. That sort of leadership shows just how valuable you are to the team! Well done, sir!
The weird but unbreakable bond between men and machines. I’ll stand and watch the whole day if I need to.
A great team effort Ron & Crew! I'm glad no serious injuries it could have been MUCH MUCH worse (i.e J4) luckily though it was all minor. Yes the Q is loud but thats why fire trucks have them lol 😆 . You need one on your roll back now lol. Anyways thank you for what you do its a very dangerous job. May God bless & protect you & EVERYONE who works at Midwest Truck. ✝️
They make the electronic ones now that take the same space as a regular siren speaker, just in a newer control. They work
I'm impressed with your teaching techniques to your drivers very patient person
ALWAYS stand to the side when you unlatch a van trailer door. You’ll be wearing anything leaning against the door if not.
You know when you're a good father, when you are always teaching what ever you are doing.
This is a really Great Example on Exactly what Team Work is Supposed to Look Like. Kudo’s ALL👍
