Tim I started watching your channel when I was 14 and had always wanted my own Johnny. With a couple years of hard work in my lawn care/landscape business I was able to buy my own this year when turned 16. Not a 1025 r. But I did get the 1023e. I wasn’t able to buy a ton of attachments in the beginning I simply started with the loader and frontier 49” tiller. A few months later I bought a brush hog (4 foot ) from tsc. Just wanted to share my story and thank you for all of the helpful videos and the inspiration to buy my own Johnny.
Congratulations Patrick !! That is wonderful! Thank you for sharing your story !! You are proof that our great Country is in great hands !!!! Be safe my friend and God bless you and your family !!!! Eddy
Chris Dowing Thank you Chris ! I have recently thought about making video like Tim does except for the 1023e and share my experience with it as a new tractor owner. Thanks again
I have a 2014 1023e that I bought new. I should have bolts where you do on your 1025R, but they weren't even on my tractor when I took delivery. I guess my dealer forgot to put them on when they were setting it up, who knows. I didn't even know about the bolts until I watched your videos! I have had the tractor over 3 years and have put 238 hours on it. Never had a problem with the side panel coming off. So I agree with the 'ET guy' you mentioned! Bolts aren't necessary! HA! Looking forward to seeing the new tractor. My Father-in-law just bought a 2018 1023e. I look forward to learning about the differences from you. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos. Really helpful!
Great job. I needed this. Something just happened and I lost all my hydraulic fluid on my deck and in my yard as I mowed. All gone. So now I need to look for what I feel sure is a leak. Cant see it crawling underneath but hopefully doing this I can add some fluid start it and look for a leak. Cheaper than taking it in:)
You are right about 1025r seat turn buckle link breaking. Mine did too 2 years ago. Someone on greentractortalk posted McMaster swivel joints that fit and are more durable. I put them on and no signs of failure yet.
Tim! you need to give Johnny a bath while you have all the covers off. when will you be getting the new tractor delivered? have you got heat in the house yet? have a great day in the Lord.
Hi Tim, Just a FYI of sorts, those wide broad washers you referred too are call fender washers. I only know that because a few weeks ago I had to go get a few from the hardware store to fix some bolts that had pulled through some sheetmetal. I asked the guy at the hardware store for some super wide washers and he ask if I meant fender washers. Of course I had no idea until he showed them to me...lol
Don't forget to take off your wheel weights! I still need to get some myself.. keep procrastinating.. Just had to plow 12" snow and cursed all the time as I slid all over.. LOL Yep those hood clips, they are awesome! Just twist and they come right out and the panels come off. And the 'knob' for the 3 point, that does not even exist on the 2018's and newer. Another major difference there for those of you watching. There is an adjustment under the seat on the right side... I am thinking something is wrong with mine though because it seems to make no difference in the speed of drop for my 3 point. Tim, I have a really nice Black and Decker battery operated drill that has an awesome 10 point setting head to it that rachets so you don't strip screws/bolts at different settings. It works so well that I have never had to use settings 1 or 2 because they are so sensitive they rachet with the slightest tension on a bolt.. LOL For the JD, most of those screws and bolts tighten without any over tighten issues at all with about a 4-5 setting. I now carry one on the tractor in a second toolbox I mounted. The model drill has those interchangeable heads too so I can take that head off and pull a impact head on it, a drill head, a saw blade, router and some other attachments. Highly suggest you consider something like this too.. Love the thing and now I only use my electric drill for major things like drilling concrete, heavy oak/walnut 4x4 's etc.. Mine is the 20 Amp battery setup.
great segment tim. i have to remove my floorboards to check out my pedals. my forward pedal doesn;t return to normal. the torsional dampener adjustment doesn't work. it started happening when i added the mower. so im hoping something is just binding.
Enjoyed the video Tim. Thanks for showing is the floorboard removal and installation process. Looking forward to seeing the New Johnny. Y'all take care and God bless.
Tractor Time with Tim I know the feeling. 23 years going where Uncle Sam needed me resulted in a lot of packing and unpacking. Use this time to connect with your past and an opportunity to discard the things you no longer need. Maybe someone you know can use something you no longer need in your family’s life. Hope that sound as I intended for it to sound.
Tim, is there a torque specification for the bolts that secure the floor to the frame. I just had mine off for the first time and they were very tight. I want to put them back properly. Let me know if you are aware of the proper torque spec. Thanks.
thanks again! Cant believe how interesting this video actually was. I really like watching those when you work "on" the 1025R. What did you all put of the 1025R?The harness for the Terraking TKV 20 and the the diverter kit? Something else?
2015 1025R here. I came across this video while trying to grease the inaccessible front driveshaft U-joint. I tried to access it by removing the panels in the video, but my tractor has a very different panel under the steering column than the one on your tractor. No screws at all, and it seems to be one solid plastic piece held on by bolts, with other things inside bolted to it. I was able to remove the floorboard leaving the front panel in place after removing the rear panel shown in the video. That gave access to the rear U-joint but not the front one. So, not every 2013-2017 model is the same as yours. Is it possible that Johnny, as an early 1025R was perhaps built using up some 1026 panels? Gotta get that U-joint greased somehow; it's the one thing left undone for my 600 hour service. The front U joint looks like it has never been greased, although I paid the dealer for doing at other service visits.. Maybe the dealers find the zerk as difficult to get to as I do.
Yes. The 1025r has been redesigned inside there. Surprised it is that way on a 2015, but I do have a video out on our new 2018 model with the one piece steering column.
Took my floor boards off once. Half the self taping bolts stripped in the holes as I was backing them out. I had to put a nut on each bolt up underneath. :-( Same year tractor as yours.
I would of pressure washed the floor board and under neath but that’s just me and my perfectionist personality. I would have to remove the entire cab in order to remove the floor board, let’s just hope I never have to. Thanks for the video!
Like Tim said, there is a lot of wisdom on GreenTractorTalk.com, including threads on this. I think Tim mentioned in a video that he had done "something" which I suppose is bump the pressure.
I'm pretty sure that lower piece under the instrument panel isn't separate/removable on my 2016, but I should probably look again. That was the conclusion I reached when trying to use that method for the impossible to reach grease zerk anyway.
@@TractorTimewithTim The way Deere now line-breaks in new changes, trying to correlate implementations to specific model years may be an exercise in futility.
Thanks for your reply Tim my only concern about getting the 3320 is it’s a bit wide the 2038 is narrower which we might be able to squeeze in a few more yards with it does look a bit tippy with the big wheels but they make a wheel spacer kit Which would solve that I guess if we didn’t like it down the road . Yes.
