I feel since Beck worked for Stark he knew about Selvig's research post Dark world and saw the 616 like we did and used that in his deception in far from home
I feel like you failed to mention the darkhold and its destruction by Wanda in every universe. If I remember correctly Doctor Strange got his MD and his PhD by way of photographic memory which means that one copy of the dark hold still exists and the Doctor Strange who dream walked into a corpse of himself and is now very much corrupted and is now very much alive in the MCU
One detail on the 616 cameos throughout the mcu: in agents of shield there are a lots of times when 616 was mentioned like, shield 616 (quinjet) or one of the last chunks of earth in season 5 is designated 616
whe. strange explained his sister's death, I believe that motivated him to become a doctor, to save as many lives as possible, since he couldn't save hers
That might also give a deeper reason for Dr. Strange not wanting to take any risky patients in the first movie. On the outside he is worried about his perfect record but on the inside he doesn’t want to feel responsible for someone’s death.
if you watch slowly at 41:39, you can see that 616 Strange turned the notes into an eye when he reflects the attack back on Sinister Strange. Almost like an eye of Agamotto.
But the VFX of the fight was so sloppy and glitchy. You can easily see Strange and Wong's movements were out of sync when they were grabbed by Gargantos. feels like rushed work.
The Ultron sentries probably were a successful attempt by Stark to build what he was trying to build. I can't imagine the Illuminati would use Ultron sentries if Ultron had tried to destroy the world.
the red magic doesn;t warp the trees, it just pulls back, showing what's actually there. the green orchard was an illusion. wanda even says 'The hex was the easy part, but the lying, that always gets me'
The shot of Strange’s watch collection box with the green LED lights foreshadowed him being a time manipulator. All these years and I just now noticed this.
Vision may have never existed in 838. Ultron was able to be controlled by the Illuminati, and there was simply no need for Vision. Which also means Wanda didn't go through as much grief in this universe.
Watched it when it came out in Disney+ and wow was it good, kinda sad how the Illuminati was just tossed aside and beaten so easily but those were some cool gruesome deaths though
When Professor X shows up, in the subtitles it says "X-Men '97 Theme" which, I suppose we could have all assumed, but I wonder if that means that the animated series + X-Men '97 will tie directly into this version of X. I know it is the same question that we got with What If...? But it still makes me happy to think about it.
How come Erik has never mentioned Strange’s costume change to reflect a more accurate comic costume? I think adding the symbol down his torso is such a nice change and I hope it stays.
Dreams are when you are looking in other universes right? In Thor Ragnorok he says he’s been having theses dreams about Asgard getting destroyed. That means that in other universes Asgard got destroyed. Does that mean that Thor is unable to save Asgard before Hela gets there? The possibilities because of this is endless
I remember that bishop was stuck in a place stuck in time. In the x-men animated series, where they had to go back in time to save professor x from dying
I thought this was one of the better movies from the MCU. It didn't feel like a typical cut and paste movie, but this one had personality. The camera work, the lighting and colours, etc.
I really loved the Raimi touch in this film. No other MCU movie has had that horror feel to this extent... even Blade (if it counts as MCU). All the nods to Evil Dead and the other classic Raimi films were great too. I hope to see more genre mixups like this going forward!
@@edwardballiet2167 That's because his cut was worse. They did a test screening and Wanda was more evil and sinister than the reshot version. It did not go well with the test audience so they reshot it.
The comic style universe and the paint universe made me think of this, is it possible that the what if universes actually look like that within the multiverse? Maybe they look actually animated within the multiverse similar to how in spider verse the different spider people had different animation styles?
Reed Richards knew the power that Wanda held so I don’t understand why he would give away the power of they’re most powerful member (BlackBolt) which ended with BlackBolts ultimate demise. I bet you that if Richards didn’t give away BlackBolts powers that there could’ve been a chance that they could’ve won sooner.
I also like what makes our Strange different is that he had to let Tony hold the knife to save the universe. He had to put his faith in someone else, which we see him do at the end with America
He held the knife until the very end even giving Thanos the stone without a plan. All because he held the knife even though he could’ve did the same thing he did in the first Strange movie and just kept replaying the moment until the right outcome occurred. Him holding out that information is him still holding the knife.
@@JustLikeAFlower Thanos had 4 Infinity stones before he got the time stone. 4 stones on the gauntlet can overpower the time stone plus Dr. Strange foreseen 14 million possibilities before Thanos arrival on Titan, he made the only play they had. There was no other way.
I desperately want a directors cut, with Wanda going full witch including the beheading scene and anything else deemed too hardcore for "general audiences"
How can you not mention that the difference between the first Dr. Strange/America Boss Battle Dr. Strange had to hold the knife and that at the end he had the chance to use Americas Power and hold the knife but instead he gave up the control and let America hold it. That changed it all. I think that that change might be more important than the star in the book..
Also, before confronting SW and repeating the the DOFP line, Prof. X says that Strange needs to save, protect and guide America... I think that made more difference than the star in the book 🤷🏻♂️
So the whole mcu timeline thing, i think the statue of liberty fight in NWH happens, then MoM, then the final swing scene in NWH. In NWH, j jonah jameson was broadcasting and said its been a few weeks, so i believe MoM happened during that time skip. Like erik said, MoM takes place around november. Environment in movie tells us this as well.
The time jump in NWH isn't even that confusing. At the beginning of the movie, they just began their Senior Year. And then, at the end, Snow is everywhere
When I picture the multiverse, I imagine it as a library. Each book is a different universe, and every page within the individual books make up the alternate dimensions/realms that exist within each universe. Two pages cannot coexist, but if one or both pages/realms/dimensions are destroyed, the book/universe will continue existing, one or two pages/realms/dimensions short. Two books/universes also cannot coexist, but if one or both are destroyed, all pages/dimensions/realms within them are also completely destroyed, leaving nothing to continue on. And the Gap Junction makes up the shelves in which the books reside, as the Gap Junctiion is the only place to ever be described as the space between universes. It may very well be the library itself, if not some macrouniverse.
How would you fit timelines into this analogy? Because most people seem to think Loki Variants and time lines are multiple universes forming a multiverse when in reality it's multiple timelines within 616's universe
I can't imagine Marvels Multiverse. It just makes no sense for me. But... i'd like to imagine, that if our universe is possible, than it also possible that before and after it those other universes in endless numbers an variations could have existed or will be existing. One after another in an endless realm of nothingness. Traveling between them would be more like time travel.
30:27 I honestly think that Starks or Hank Pyms idea of Ultron succeeded earlier. Which is probably why Thanos didn't get to earth in 838 but they stopped him on Titan
Did anyone else notice that Strange's cape was repaired with 838's cape (which Reed is holding it in the Titan flashback)? I hope it wasn't sentient as well....
The 3rd eye is the Eye of Agamotto. Dr. Strange has learned how to use it. It might make him little more dangerous in a protective type way. There’s no reason the MCU makes our Dr. Strange evil. It would be messy. He doesn’t seek revenge like Wanda did or similar. No reason he hasn’t learned how to control his Eye of Agamotto. Ancient One told him in 1st Strange movie - “open your eye”.
The timeline isn't confusing at all, ahahaha. No Way Home starts where Far From ended in around July. Spidey finds Strange November 1st, and then after the fight at the end MoM happens, after MoM the end swing of NWH, then Hawkeye. NWH takes place of many months. Literally 2 minutes was set at Christmas, not the entire movie.
I like the idea of Sinister Strange getting a chance to be the hero. Strange did bad things, but he always TRIED to help. So maybe Sinister Strange is oging to get a redemption arc lol
I’d like to point out that MCU placements for movies aren’t always exactly linear because some of them have time jumps (NWH had maybe 3) so it’s hard to put the entire movie in one spot, but I’d say they’re somewhat accurate.
I think that Reed Richards was the one that made Ultron in 838 and, because he’s probably smarter than Stark, ultron worked correctly and never went crazy
I feel like Strange learned not to worry about the "Calculus of the Multiverse" after Peter taught him you can set things right, not so much from Sinister Strange.
39:01 why isn't anyone pointing out these two parallel red blurr speeding through the city we saw them multiple time in the movie until they reach sanctum no detailer pointed out this mystery Is it just the result of a incursion or something else that was suppose to be in movie but was kept for future projects
33:15 So did the Illuminati solo Thanos or did they bring their teams for the fight and send them through a portal back to Earth so they could render judgement against Strange in private? 45:24 "It's over Wanda, I have the High Ground!"
If we go by the 616 timeline the illuminati probably fight Thanos alone and send their teams to fight Thanos minions in the big wakanda fight. Keep in mind if ultron is not bad Vision probably does not exist, so the mind stone may still be inside the sceptre and that is what they may be protecting this time.
15:20 and and//also also references the phrase “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” which is typically a phrase used to describe the way a child is like their parent
Shuma Gorath, while "Lovecraftian" is not an H.P. Lovecraft creation. The character, as seen in the comics, was created by Steve Englehart & Frank Brunner; with Roy Thomas & Gardner Fox laying the foundation. The name was taken from an entity in a Robert E. Howard KULL story , "The Curse of the Golden Skull", which is why Heroic Signatures has the rights to the name. Marvel/Disney just didn't wish to license the name (and share any money) so they used the name of GARGANTOS; a creature they owned outright.
bastards Especially since Gargantos obviously looks nothing like that in the movie as he does in the Namor comics but they chose to make him look like Shuma Gorath regardless out of petty spite. Thats just the Marvel way though since they began in the comics. They dont like it when people other than themselves actually own their own work.
What if Wanda and Pietro’s parents were actually adoptive parents and maybe even related to 616’s Magneto meaning that he could have given them over as babies for protection?
7:20 in terms of timeline , Spiderman swing by Christmas tree at the end of no way home, multiverse of madness could take place a week after no way home, followed by hawkeye series where he tips over the tree
Basically, the MCU is the M-616, while the comics was the C-616 (just an example) They are similar universes with different rules, and on a different SET of multiverses. Technically, it doesn't mean something couldn't break that wall and make a crossover the MCU with the Comics.
It makes no sense because in the MCU guide books it’s actually Earth 199999. While the real Marvel Universe is actually Earth 616 in the Marvel Comics.
Maybe Multiverse of Madness takes place right after Toby’s Peter and Andrew’s Peter go home to their universe but the swinging end scene of NWH takes place after MOM. I don’t know if that makes sense but if it does pls let me know
I actually think that when Tony says that he dreamed that he and Pepper had a kid and named HIM after Pepper’s eccentric uncle Morgan, Tony was indeed viewing an alternate reality where Morgan was Stark’s SON and not daughter.
I think No Way Home takes place before MoM except for the scene where Peter was swinging with the Christmas lights which was after MoM. Also Peter got the idea to go to strange because of a halloween decoration.
If you think about it, it’s ironic bc in the grand calculus of the Multiverse, Defender Strange’s sacrifice was more important than HIS life, since without his corpse, Wanda wouldn’t have been stopped.

So he himself is the dark hold and so evil lives through him and the damned souls that hold on to him
One detail on the 616 cameos throughout the mcu: in agents of shield there are a lots of times when 616 was mentioned like, shield 616 (quinjet) or one of the last chunks of earth in season 5 is designated 616
Huh. I first thought Wanda was trying to grow apples as a clever "keeps the Doctor away" joke.
whe. strange explained his sister's death, I believe that motivated him to become a doctor, to save as many lives as possible, since he couldn't save hers
That might also give a deeper reason for Dr. Strange not wanting to take any risky patients in the first movie. On the outside he is worried about his perfect record but on the inside he doesn’t want to feel responsible for someone’s death.
@@jayxjay2885 yeah I kinda relate to him tbh
if you watch slowly at 41:39, you can see that 616 Strange turned the notes into an eye when he reflects the attack back on Sinister Strange. Almost like an eye of Agamotto.

Wong is like a foundation of Avengers like Phil Coulson did on OG Avengers.
The Gargantos fight was the best part in the movie for me, the use of magic was so creative and I wish the rest of the movie was like that.
The only thing I wanted out of the movie was a Strange vs Wanda fight to top the Strange vs Thanos duel from Infinity War
The musical duel was easily the most creative thing in the movie tho when it comes to magic
But the VFX of the fight was so sloppy and glitchy. You can easily see Strange and Wong's movements were out of sync when they were grabbed by Gargantos. feels like rushed work.
I hoped to see Dr Strange use eye of agamotto(?) on Wanda like he did in disassembled

I actually don't think it was technically an illusion. It physically changes, so long as Wanda wills it. It's matter manipulation, y'know?
Lizzy Olsen was simply amazing in this movie! More Wanda please Marvel!!!!!
True!
I agree, but who is the baby daddy in 838 then?

Maybe they could’ve did this in Multiverse Of Madness
I thought this was one of the better movies from the MCU. It didn't feel like a typical cut and paste movie, but this one had personality. The camera work, the lighting and colours, etc.
Over whelming threat, must get item to win, face of with enemy having the same powers, trusting yourself to find your powers…. Pretty cut and paste
I really loved the Raimi touch in this film. No other MCU movie has had that horror feel to this extent... even Blade (if it counts as MCU). All the nods to Evil Dead and the other classic Raimi films were great too. I hope to see more genre mixups like this going forward!

there would've been more raimi if they didn't reshoot 80% of the movie

Nice
He held the knife until the very end even giving Thanos the stone without a plan. All because he held the knife even though he could’ve did the same thing he did in the first Strange movie and just kept replaying the moment until the right outcome occurred.

Oh thank god someone put this. I was screaming at the screen hearing him say it didn’t make sense

Sounds like the Midnight Library lol
This is one of the best multiverse analogies ive ever read.
@@punusername3445 only way I see it is if the books are those ones where choose your own path
5:44 And in the end, it was this Strange's life that was "sacrificed". It helped our 616 Dr Strange defeat The Scarlet Witch and save everyone's life.

I love how in the MCU we can watch someone drop a building on themselves and we still say "produce a body we'll believe you"
The Darkhold was not originally introduced in WandaVision, it was originally introduced in Agents of Shield
4:40 as a Mexican here, please don't ever again say Latinx
The timeline isn't confusing at all, ahahaha. No Way Home starts where Far From ended in around July. Spidey finds Strange November 1st, and then after the fight at the end MoM happens, after MoM the end swing of NWH, then Hawkeye. NWH takes place of many months. Literally 2 minutes was set at Christmas, not the entire movie.
As a fan of Critical Role, when he summoned those spectral hands, my only thought was "Scanlan's Hand!"
Chekov's Strange corpse was one of my fave parts of this movie 😂
I like the idea of Sinister Strange getting a chance to be the hero.
Strange did bad things, but he always TRIED to help.
So maybe Sinister Strange is oging to get a redemption arc lol
I mean he did become the protector of that universe even being Sinister
I’d like to point out that MCU placements for movies aren’t always exactly linear because some of them have time jumps (NWH had maybe 3) so it’s hard to put the entire movie in one spot, but I’d say they’re somewhat accurate.
Yes.
Start to strange early November first week
Jumps to funeral late November early December
Jump to Christmas a few days before Hawkeye
I think that Reed Richards was the one that made Ultron in 838 and, because he’s probably smarter than Stark, ultron worked correctly and never went crazy
I feel like Strange learned not to worry about the "Calculus of the Multiverse" after Peter taught him you can set things right, not so much from Sinister Strange.
I love when Wanda and strange are in the apple fields, sheep run past, like Wanda is a wolf among sheep. Hiding is sheep clothing.

The illuminati are a group of people so THEY didn't SOLO anything

Shuma Gorath, while "Lovecraftian" is not an H.P. Lovecraft creation.
The character, as seen in the comics, was created by Steve Englehart & Frank Brunner; with Roy Thomas & Gardner Fox laying the foundation.
The name was taken from an entity in a Robert E. Howard KULL story , "The Curse of the Golden Skull", which is why Heroic Signatures has the rights to the name.
Marvel/Disney just didn't wish to license the name (and share any money) so they used the name of GARGANTOS; a creature they owned outright.
bastards
Especially since Gargantos obviously looks nothing like that in the movie as he does in the Namor comics but they chose to make him look like Shuma Gorath regardless out of petty spite.
Thats just the Marvel way though since they began in the comics. They dont like it when people other than themselves actually own their own work.
What if Wanda and Pietro’s parents were actually adoptive parents and maybe even related to 616’s Magneto meaning that he could have given them over as babies for protection?

They are similar universes with different rules, and on a different SET of multiverses.
Technically, it doesn't mean something couldn't break that wall and make a crossover the MCU with the Comics.
