    Yoko was wearing a sanitary napkin over her eyes, and knitting, to protest the subjugation of women. She was very eccentric, and polarizing.

    For a dose of brutal John Lennon reality, check out Mother or Working Class Hero.

    Yoko was doing a lot of performance art at that time, frequently with John. John Lennon IMO is the perfect rock voice. 💜☮

      You're so right. Lennon's voice was perfect for rock. What are the odds of having him and McCartney, no slouch himself, in the same band?

      She was a respected avant garde artist before she met Lennon. I have sound-artist friends, I actually LIKE Revolution 9 😅

    The blindfolded woman was John Lennon's wife Yoko Ono. She is well known for performance art. 💕

    The Beatles - Eight Days A Week. Official Artist Channel. Studio version with film footage from their legendary concert at Shea Stadium in New York City in 1965.

    That was John's wife Yoko Ono behind him. Don't forget another British band I think you'll like, Dire Straits. Anything from their first album will blow your socks off! Personally, the studio versions are best to hear before any stadium performance even though some of those are good for the variation.

    Legendary.
    It’s his wife, Yoko Ono that’s blindfolded. And knitting. Don’t ask. It’s John Lennon.

      Performance art by an avant gardist. One doesn’t always have to understand exactly what everything “means” perfectly, it can be nonlinear, emotional, non-specifically referential - like the phrase stop making sense: feel it, and if you don’t feel anything that’s ok too.

      Symbolism.

    • @lynnarthur1411
      @lynnarthur1411 Місяць тому

      Yoko Ono is a world renowned conceptual artist. The brilliance of her work, lies in her use of basic symbols (which at first - appear to be random)…but deliver a powerfully relatable message. Yoko is also an accomplished classically trained pianist.

    The woman is his excentric wife Yoko, no idea why she's blindfolded and knitting, must be some symbolism involved... I don't get it, anyway, great song and a nice reaction! Peace and love from Bavaria!

      @@leannmiller7153 she's so right, unfortunately! ... still: eccentric, a little bit to the weird side... I, personally, love people like her (and John...!), maybe because I'm a bit on the far side as well...

    I think John's particular sound on these tracks had a lot to do with his early liking for Jerry lee Lewis songs where they used a particular kind of reverb. Try Whole Lotta Shakin.

    It's very hard to understand Yoko's performance art. It's best to not question why if you don't understand. Most times people don't. She can be strange back in the day.
