Ram 5500 Cab and Chassis Custom Hotshot Build

Bought this Ram in July of 2022. It took me about a month to have it ready to hit the road loaded. I learned about a lot of things that I know I could have done in advance now that would have helped me have it ready sooner. It is now on the road hauling loads and passed a level 1 dot inspection in Washington on its maiden voyage! Stay tuned for my next video in which I will be covering the full build.

Congrats man. As said before don’t weld the frame. I would suggest get a hitch designed for a cab and chassis. There was another UA-camr I think it was Jason Kendall that had issues with that type of hitch.

Congratulations fella. However, you need 3 8th grade 8 bolts and more of them. Per DOT rules, your not allowed to drill on top of the frame without OEM approval. Also you absolutely can't weld to the frame. Fenders are way 2 big 👀. Your A/C unit is around 1100 running watts and may have a starting watts of 1500? Try and start the A/C unit on low for a minute or so, than to desired settings. Best of luck fella 👍. Curious to see the final interior product...

Is the only difference between the 3500 and the 5500 is that it doesn’t have a bed on the truck?

No 5500 has stronger suspension bigger brakes a higher dif ratio
