Something I really like about the Mask is that the only real way to overcome the user is to convince them to take it off themselves. Thats a pretty unique weakness to have and not very easy to accomplish.
Lobo managed to do it, Batman should be able to do it with ease.

@HaysonTM2 It was explained in Death Battle that Lobo came into contact with the comic version of the Mask. He was able to beat that version, and take said mask, by reminding it of all horrors that it committed while on its frolicking rampage throughout the city.

Injustice Joke nuke a city of Metropolis to prove Batman that Superman can fall into madness.
Then again the Injustice Universe is a darker version of the main universe.

Batman will never ask for help. Even when he ask his sidekicks, they are not help to him, there extensions of his bat utility belt.
@@iamthisiam you know just the act of making a team(the Bat family), participating in a team(multiple Justice Leagues) and having multiple team up comics prove Batman isn't above asking for help (along with a comic book series and TV show that emphasize team ups).

The art in this comic is absolutely amazing not just because of the fact that I really like the old school outfit of Harley Quinn the art is just gosh darn amazing

The core of defeating The Mask... manipulate the wearer in his/her Mask form to take it off by knowing deep triggering things (or a thing) about the wearer.
That comic covered that perfectly.

No his first appearance was in a dc comic with wonder woman but they ment loki like in the real religion ,not the marvel loki

And the movie version is not the comic version, two different companies.
The mask was created by Loki in the movie continuity. In the comic the mask came from an African tribe

No joke, I always thought that Jim Carrey's The Mask and Jack Nicholson's Joker kinda looked alike in their promotional photos for their respective movies. They both wear Zoot Suits. They both wear fedora hats, and they both have that crazy smile! Awesome video!

Everybody gets on Batmans back for not killing The Joker but so many officers, doctors, and nurses who have had Joker in their custody have refused to do so as well.

Only difference is that Batman works outside the law and can/will get away with it far easier than cops and doctors would since Gotham is too stupid to realize how obvious Batman's identity actually is

The mask likely wouldn't work on current Joker like it didn't work on Walter. Joker already lives without inhibitions so there'd be nothing for the mask to draw out.
This honestly feels like it should have happened already but yet is a complete surprise when it does happen. Like when scarecrow became a yellow lantern in blackest night
speaking of crossovers are you gonna do Mask World Tour, Mask encountering various dark horse characters, like Barb Wire and X, who are par for the course when it comes to 90's heroes.
that's not even technically a cross-over, as it happens canonically within the Mask continuity. (though due to the Timey-Whimey stuff at the end, robber goes back to when he stole the Mask and puts it back, effectively erasing the arc from happening while also ensuring that someone else gets the Mask as he put it back in the wrong deposit box instead of the one the Tuttles had sealed it in after Hunt for the Green October and directly leading to the next arc).
Just when I thought "man, I have to do laundry, why can't there be a new The Mask Video that I can listen to while doing it" 😜

... Until an earthquake hits Gotham (Or maybe they are clearing the land for buildings in Batman Beyond or something) and the mask is knocked up onto the deceased Stanleys face, reviving both Stanley and Big Head.

There's actually a story in Dark Horse Presents that explains how the Mask ended up in Gotham called No Mask Is An Island. It discusses how the artifact jumped to tortured person to person somehow finding its way in the hands of a couple of scientists/researchers who discuss their own theories how it caused so much mixed results in people's fates.

Darkseid might beat the avengers, thanos would get stomped by the justice league (DC has way more OP characters in terms of random made up plot powers like flash reversing time or superman just... being sulerman). Marvel does less ass pulls (still some, but not as many), so darkseid would probably win since he never shows up in DC either. He just sends his avatar

I like the idea of the Joker being more dangerous with the Mask and at the end Calloway burying the mask in Ipkiss' grave. I don't think this was ever done, but has anyone ever wondered what would've happened if the mask fell on Ipkiss' corpse? Could the Mask have the power to bring back the dead?
It did happen...
I remember that this did happen in this other issue of the Mask where Ipkiss came back as a zombie and killed a bunch of people.
but i think what ended up happening was I think Kathy or someone else reminded Ipkiss that he was dead. He said, oh yeah, I totally forgot. And the crumpled into a skeleton. Then I think a bunch of the people he killed put themselves back together and walked off. I think with some weird caption or meta joke that this was a non-canon story or something weird like that with everything resetting. At least that's what i remember from an entry on that story years ago and some loose remembrance I have of seeing a few images from this book.

Dude, man, let me tell you. I LOVE that you're covering the mask. This is the third video I've seen you cover and it's freaking great. I loved the mask when I saw it as a kid on vhs. Camron Diaz and Jim Carrey. N'uff said. Keep em coming Rob. We love your content.
The continuity of Big Head kinda mixes a bit of the comics with aspects of the 1994 film and animated series, hence why the mask is wooden instead of a jade mask and his suit and tie resembles the cartoon version.
Also they do kinda explain how the artifact got to Gotham, there's a mini story called "No Mask Is An Island" and it's kinda more in line with the comics but again the design of the mask is wooden as seen here.
In The Mask: Animated Series, Rob Paulsen played Stanley Ipkiss / The Mask. So in my head, Mark Hamill voiced the Joker and Paulson voiced Bighead. Which also works well with the two personalities arguing with each other at the end.
This was just the right amount of crazy imo.

I luv the artwork and the tone doesn't bother me. There always a certain time for hype violence in comic, games, and movies. I enjoy the story and video thanks Rob. Also I heard Marks voice to and even did it a couple of times.
Would've been awesome if the mask worked depending on the wearer's interpretation of insanity, ie. the joker + mask = sane person who goes back to working a desk job.
after seeing the comments from last video i knew this was coming! any how Rob you gotta make a what if Batman wore the mask series if it ends up anything like when he sat on the Mobius Chair it would be awesome!

This was the first time I saw Batman being beaten by the Joker, and my jaw dropped when Batman was presumed dead. Of course, I knew he wasn't, but the fact that Joker actually beat Batman blew my mind back then.
As a huge fan of The Mask series,I thought this crossover was fantastic. I would also recommend for everyone to read Lobo/The Mask, it is a match made in heaven.

The art in this comic is amazing!
I do not like this comic. Mainly as the way the mask supposedly works (as an object of chaos) is it brings out and maximized an aspect of the person wearing the mask. So they gain great power and the ability to alter reality yet it's driven by their inner self. And yet all they do with this is make more Ha-Ha's with the joker. I would have though it would have maximized that homicidal / get back at the world nature even more. Sure he's trying to kill people but not really focused on it, he's more focused on entertaining the masses and getting people to watch him in fear and suspense. And that is not the mad insane homicidal Joker we all see. The whole comic where he stole Mxl's (I ain't gonna try to spell that imps name) powers was far more true to the Joker in my opinion.

Judging by the design of the mask itself (wooden with steel nose), the Big Head's yellow suit with red tie, and how Kellaway is drawn, that's definitely the continuity from The Mask animated series, not the comic book, so that's the reason Kellaway doesn't reflect on him being the Mask's host, because in that universe he never got it
