Our Homestead is Taking Shape | Clearing Trees Around The Cabin & Digging The Outhouse

What's better than one Stihl chainsaw? Two Stihl chainsaws!
While Levi's Dad had some time on his hands, we took down every single tree that would be in the way of our cabin build! Not only do we have to take the trees within the cabin perimeter, but we also have to take the "danger" trees!
Danger trees are the ones that could fall on the cabin in the future and cause big damage. That being said, we did not take every single tree that may fall someday. We did take the big heavy ones that could kill someone or at the very least leave a mark on our home.
We made two widow makers in the process but there are so many trees in the forests of Alaska, that is bound to happen here and there. All that matters is they did hit the ground without anyone getting hurt! Two trees leaning on each other is called a widow maker for a reason.
On top of all the tree work, we were very excited to get the outhouse hole dug while we still could! We keep saying, "Winter is coming", but luckily it has held off long enough for us to really get some dirt work done. If it keeps holding off, we will get the garden clearing done, and the post holes for the cabin dug! We may even get some post holes into the ground. That would be amazing!
For now, we are working on everything day by day. We appreciate our viewers SO MUCH! Especially in this time of building a new life and all of the amazing support we've received through it all.
