Honestly I was kinda surprised. I really thought 1/3 would win. Price and space can be an issue but there’s no comparing 1/4 to 1/3. I mean I have some 1/4 but 1/3 is so much more impressive. Yes I see a lotta people calling for 1/4 online (mainly coz it seams like companies have stopped doing them and focused on 1/3). But still seams, at least from what I’ve seen is most people wanted 1/3. 1/4 is cool when it’s not a museum pose, and has more going on (ie the Darknight returns with the lightning bolt). Personally I’m not a fan of much under 1/4. These are just my opinions though and not an attack on anyone else’s tastes.
1/6 Scale from Tweeterhead are quickly becoming my favorite. I am all about the comic book look for my DC characters & yet they still look big on my shelf. I only own 1/4 scale.
Living in a smaller place, 1/4 scale is a big as I would go. If you want a variety of characters in your collection, I say go 1/6. But if you have just a select few, who you want to just primarily collect, 1/4 to 1/3 would be my choice.
Ah, the eternal struggle of finding the perfect scale for our collections. It's like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, but with statues instead of porridge!
I'm primarily a 1/4 scale collector but I have a few 1/3 scale statues. IMO when you have a lot of the same scale statues together they tend to just blend together and that wow factor is not there as much. It doesn't matter if they are 1/3 or 1/4 scale or any other scale whenever they are together. When isolated 1/3 scale definitely stands out over 1/4 or below but I can say the same about the 1/4 scale. Due to cost and space, I feel that 1/4 scale offers the best balance between that wow factor and price plus space saver.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's interesting to hear your perspective on the different statue scales and how they can impact the overall display.
I was not surprised by the results. The voting contains the word that we read and hear online in the community. The 1/1 is almost unpayable for most of us. 1/10 for me is great for the new collector or for collectors who want a very diverse, different and big collection. Or don't know where to start. 1/3 took a hit because of the higher prices and shipping. But indeed when you get your first 1/3 you feel instant love. I fully agree on that. 1/6 is indeed the most easy line , I also agree on that. Those statues are without a doubt vert popular. And 1/4 the clear winner, yes I also get that. For me if you want the best piece for your buck. Then a Sideshow PF in 2023 is still the best option. Very interesting video. Thank you mister 👍👏
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you found the video interesting. It's always great to hear from fellow collectors and share our thoughts on the hobby.
I started collecting statue pieces in 2016 and I dived straight into 1/4. I never started smaller than that size and the prices were way lower than today. I feel there's more variety in 1/4 for different licenses. I really do hope LBS goes towards the 1/4 market but with more dynamic pieces. But i admit that I'd like to get 1/3 versions of my favorite characters.
That's awesome that you've been collecting statue pieces since 2016! It's amazing how the prices have changed over time. Do you have any favorite pieces in your collection?
1/4 being the most popular (which is my most favourite scale personally) followed by 1/6 second and 1/3 third. Ultimately, due to costs and space I would only make an exception for a 1/3 if it's an IP/character I really want, like Prime 1's (T2) T-800 & Scar (AVP) Predator.
The outcome seems accurate. I started with 1/4th back in 2015 then moved to 1/3rd once P1 entered the game. Now because of space , shipping costs and pricing I am adding a mix of 1/4 and 1/3.
I've been collecting for over 20 years, I mainly have 1:4 and 1:6 in my collection but in the last 2 years have added some 1:3 into the mix! My favorite due to Cost/Space/and WOW is 1:4. But I really wish I had more space to devote to 1:3.
Great video Chris, as always. A lot of this comes down to cost. The cost of pieces, shipping, and the amount of space pieces could take up. However, that being said, I’m surprised that 1/10th isn’t much higher on the list.
Thank you so much for your comment! I completely agree that cost and space are important factors to consider when collecting statues. It's interesting to hear your perspective on the ranking of 1/10th scale. Different collectors prioritize different scales based on their personal preferences and display options. Keep collecting and enjoy the journey!
Thanks for watching and for your feedback! I understand that not everyone has the space or budget for larger statue scales. That's why in this video, I'll be covering a range of scales to cater to different collectors' needs.
I started with 1/6 Hot Toys 10 years ago, then I bought some Sideshow maquette and busts (a lot cheaper then actual silicon) but in the last 2 years I’m selling my 1/6 and buying 1/3..
Not surprised 1/4 is still king. Surprised 1/6 was over 1/3 by voting, but prices and some certainly considered figures makes sense. Thought 1/10 would be higher. Personally, I only like 1/6 - 1/4. Anything bigger than 1/4 is just too big imo, and I think the size increases exponentially while the detail increases marginally, so it’s a net negative. Smaller than 1/6 is too small for me. I wish 1/6 had more statues as that’s my main collect, but there are a lot of great 1/4 that don’t take too much room as well.
I think all scales are great. I wouldn’t rule any of them out if it’s something I love. Lol I really wish iron Studios would do a Spider-Man vs all his villains like there X-men line. But my preference is 1/3. To me it’s just incredible to see the size and detail of each character. I’m currently waiting for my joker say cheese to arrive.
Hey, thanks for commenting! I totally get what you mean about the 1/3 scale statues, they're mind-blowing! Can't wait for your Joker statue to arrive, that's gonna be epic! 🤩
Thank you! Interesting information) I also prefer 1/4. I want 1/3 but I don't have space so I understand it will cause me problems. Maybe in the future one day I will start collecting 1/3 :)
It depends what you mean by 'popular'. I can garantee you that 1/10 sells the best out of the scales you've listed. However, 1/4 or 1/3 will be people's favorite.
1/3 is my favorite based on sheer presence, but when your room is limited 1/4 is your best friend.
Agreed 100%

1:10 is my favorite scale honestly. Price, quality, space.
Extremely collector friendly!!

I completely agree! The 1/6 scale statues from Tweeterhead have such a great comic book aesthetic and they really stand out on the shelf.

First! Lifesized Bust, 1/3 and 1/4 are my top 3, but I collect them all.

@@BatmanStatueCollector You’re welcome and thank you for your reply. 👍
Chris, love your channel but for most of us that don't have a "bat bunker of holding", 1/4 and lower is the logical intersection of space and $.
Thanks for watching and for your feedback! I understand that not everyone has the space or budget for larger statue scales. That's why in this video, I'll be covering a range of scales to cater to different collectors' needs.
1/3 looks amazing 👍 but I also do 1/4 & life size bust ..
Are you planning on doing a video on your impressions of the LBS Batman?
Oh, you know what they say... Batman is always watching! I'll make sure to give my impressions on the LBS Batman soon.
@@BatmanStatueCollectorwonderful!!! Happy Holidays from my family to yours.
Always 1/4

Who knew there was so much math involved in collecting statues? The size vs detail equation is definitely a tricky one to solve!
Maybe for a poll is which statue company do you like best or which statue company is more prevalent in your collection.
1/10 is right for me, with shipping prices and space its just right
I appreciate your input! It's great to hear that the 1/10 scale is a good fit for you considering factors like shipping costs and space.

I want 1/3 but I don't have space so I understand it will cause me problems.

I am shocked about the 1/10 as well
Yeah I think 1/3,1/4. And 1/6. 🤔
1/3
👍
1/4 here :)

I collect a LOT of things, and when it comes to statues / figures (Hot Toys): 1/4 and 1/6. The price point at 1/3 gets to be a bit much and space.
I appreciate you taking the time to comment and share your perspective on statue scales. It's great to connect with fellow collectors!
1/4
Chris I’m getting my first 1:3 scale in Batman vs joker prime 1 wish me luck 😶🫣
Wow massive congratulations!! What an amazing one to get!
